A few minutes later, a doctor came and introduced herself to Kurt and Blaine.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Grant. I work with Dr. Brown, but she's off the rest of this week." as she began listening to Mackenzie's heart and lungs.

Blaine and Kurt smiled.

Replacing her stethoscope over her neck, Dr. Grant looked at Kurt and Blaine.

"Can you take the tube out now?" Kurt asked anxiously. "I mean, she's moving, it looks like she's waking up."

Blaine placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Dr. Grant smiled. "Well, her heart and lungs sound good. What I'm worried about is if we take her off now, will we have to put her back on again?" she asked. "I know that's something you don't want to have to think about, but it's very possible."

Blaine nodded. "We understand."

She turned to Alexis. "Let's check her weight once we take her off the machine."

Alexis nodded.

Blaine and Kurt looked at each other and smiled.

"I'm going to weigh Mackenzie. If she has put on more weight, continues to breathe on her own without the help of machines, she should be able to go home within the next couple of days." Dr. Grant explained. "But I am going to send her home on an apnea monitor, just in case. I'll make sure you know what to do in case she stops breathing." she explained.

Both men nodded.

Alexis handed Dr. Grant some medical tools as she began to take the tube out of Mackenzie's mouth. Blaine and Kurt watched as the doctor took the tube out of Mackenzie's mouth. The little girl began to cough and wheeze.

"It's ok baby girl. It's ok. Daddy and papa are right here." Kurt soothed.

Mackenzie looked towards where the voice was coming from.

Kurt stroked her tiny hand and she grabbed his finger and held it tight. Kurt smiled.

"I think she's got you wrapped around her little finger." Blaine whispered.

Kurt laughed softly.

Alexis handed Dr. Grant a clipboard and she began to look through it.

"Kurt, Blaine." she began, and they looked up at her.

"In Mackenzie's chart, it says that she had tried a lot of different formula, but hasn't responded well to any them?" Dr. Grant asked.

Blaine nodded. "That's right. No one can seem to figure out which formula she should have that won't make her stomach upset."

"Well, I think we should try a lactose free formula. Some babies become lactose intolerant." the young doctor explained. "If that's the case you may end up feed that to her instead of regular formula like the rest of the babies."

Blaine looked down to Mackenzie then back to Dr. Grant. "Whatever you think will work best." he stated.

Dr. Grant smiled. She scribbled something on the clipboard then walked away.

Since the doctor put Mackenzie on the lactose free formula, her stomach had reacted better. Luckily, she didn't require the assistance of the ventilator the rest of the day.

While Blaine and Kurt were busy each feeding two of the four babies, nurse Emily came up to them.

"Hey guys. How are you doing?" she asked, kneeling down in front of them.

They both smiled.

"Great. Now that Mackenzie is doing better." Blaine replied.

"That's great, I'm really happy." Emily smiled. "I might be able to make you even more happier."

"Really? How?" Kurt asked.

"Well, you know how Emma and Devon were supposed to go home yesterday?" she started.

Blaine and Kurt nodded.

"Well, I think you can take Henry home with you as well." she finished.

"Really?" Blaine asked, making sure.

Emily smiled and nodded. "Before you fed him, we checked his weight. He gained enough for Dr. Grant to give him the all clear to go home."

Blaine looked down at Henry, who was starting to fall asleep with the bottle in his mouth. "Hey buddy, did you hear that? You get to go home with your brother and sister."

"So, in couple of days Mackenzie will be able to come home too, right?" Kurt asked, making sure.

Emily nodded. "Probably this weekend."

"Oh, Kurt. I need to go home and get another carrier for Henry. I only brought two yesterday thinking that Emma and Devon were the only ones being released." Blaine laughed.

"Take your time Blaine. You don't need to take them home this instant. Besides, we to get their IV's taken out." Emily added.

Blaine nodded. "Thanks Emily."

She nodded and stood up. "I'm going to get started on their discharge paperwork." Emily left Blaine and Kurt to finish feeding the babies.

"Blaine, why don't grab the last two carriers, and put them in the car. That way we won't have to run back to the house when we're told Mackenzie is being discharged." Kurt suggested.

Blaine nodded. "Good idea. While I'm home I'll email everyone, letting them know we are going to have all of the babies home by this weekend. I'm sure we are going to need all the help we can get."

Kurt laughed. "But make sure if they are going to come to the house, they have their flu shot and aren't sick. Also we need to make sure we have plenty of hand sanitizer around the house."

Blaine sighed. "Honey, they'll be in the house, not in a giant bubble."

Kurt glared at his husband. "Blaine, it's the end of cold and flu season and we have six premature babies. Do you really want to risk them getting sick and ending up back here?"

Blaine rolled his eyes. "Ok, ok, you win. I'll make sure we have enough hand sanitizer, wipes and everything else that will kill all the germs in the house."

Kurt smiled. "Thank you sweetheart."

"You know, it's a good think I love you." Blaine teased, as he carefully lifted Henry and Mackenzie over his shoulders and placed them gently back in their beds.

Blaine went to Kurt and took Devon from him, placing him back in his bed.

"Ok, I'm going home. I'll be back soon." Blaine stated.

"Ok honey." replied Kurt.

"Call me if you need me to get anything." Blaine reminded him.

Kurt nodded. "I will. Oh, give Cory and Elizabeth lots of kisses for me."

Blaine smiled. "Don't worry. I will." he replied, bending down and giving Kurt a kiss on the lips then Emma a kiss on her forehead.
