Yeah I actually finished this before the actual holiday. Hooray for me! Ok so this was the last chapter I need to completely update. So everything past this chapter will be new. I hope to update more often but I can't promise anything since I may not have a lot of free time in the near future. So please bear with me.
Until then, please enjoy this chapter and what I do write. Also don't forget to leave me lovely reviews along with follows and favorites which I also love. Thanks. And yes I know its super long. LOL.
The next morning, Kurt woke up early and quietly walked down to the kitchen where he started making bottles. He then slid the turkey into the oven and began to prepare other dishes before his family started to arrive.
Soon, Blaine came down the stairs with Mackenzie in his arms.
"Good morning sleepy head." Kurt teased, as he handed Blaine a fresh brewed cup of coffee.
Blaine smiled his thanks taking the mug. "What are you doing up so early?" he asked, taking a sip of the hot beverage.
"I thought I would get some things started before our families got here." Kurt explained. "I also had to make bottles for the day."
Blaine laughed.
"Honey, I wanted to ask you something." Kurt started.
Blaine nodded. "Actually, can you hold Mackenzie? She's getting heavy."
Kurt smiled holding out his arms for her. "Sure, come here baby girl." he cooed, placing kisses on her forehead.
"Ok, what did you want to ask me?" Blaine stated, letting his arm now relax.
"I wanted to know, would you mind watching the kids while your mom, Carole and I go Black Friday shopping?" Kurt asked. "I mean you wouldn't be alone. You would have both of our dads and your brother."
Blaine smiled and shook his head. "Honey, it's ok. Go and have fun."
"Really?" Kurt asked, shocked. "You don't mind?"
"Of course not." Blaine replied. "Just don't spend too much money." he urged.
"I'll try not to." Kurt laughed.
"When were you planning on going shopping anyway?" Blaine questioned.
Kurt shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not sure actually." he replied, honestly. "I really don't think it's right to go shopping on Thanksgiving when those people should be home with their families." he explained. "Probably sometime early tomorrow morning."
Blaine simply nodded his head.
"Hey, it's not like I'm not going to be up early anyway." Kurt teased, making his husband laugh.
A few hours later, both of their families had come over to help prepare the big meal.
"Kurt, have you started the babies on solid foods yet?" Kate asked.
Kurt turned around to face his mother-in-law and smiled. "We just started a few weeks ago and they all seem to be ok with rice cereal. They like the fruit, but some of the veggies not so much."
Both women laughed.
"What about meats and proteins?" Carole insisted.
"Oh, they love that too." Blaine added, coming into the kitchen, grabbing an apple from the counter.
All three adults turned around.
"Don't worry, we're not starving our children." Blaine teased. "The doctor suggested we introduce foods slowly to them and see how they react to each new food."
Kurt nodded, agreeing with his husband.
"I thought we could give them some sweet potatoes and pureed turkey tonight." Kurt suggested. "Since it is their first Thanksgiving. I don't want them to feel left out."
Blaine laughed. "I don't know if they'll like the sweet potatoes, but we can try." he teased, kissing Kurt on the cheek.
"Oh, I almost forgot." Carole gasped, running into the living room as grabbing the gift that was lying on the couch and coming back into the kitchen.
"Kate and I bought these for the babies." Carole exclaimed, as she handed Kurt and Blaine the large box.
"You didn't have to get them anything." Kurt insisted.
"We know we didn't have to sweetheart, but they're our grand-babies and this is their first ever Thanksgiving." Kate started.
"So, we thought we would get something to commemorate it." Carole finished.
Kurt smiled his thanks as he placed the box down on the table and lifted the top. Inside were six little onesies, each saying, 'I am what my family is Thankful for this year.'
"Oh my goodness!" Kurt gasped.
"These are adorable. Thank you so much." Blaine cried out wrapping his mom in a hug, while Kurt did the same with Carole.
When the food was ready, the guests started to arrive.
"Hi everyone!" Rachel squealed.
"Hi Rachel, happy Thanksgiving." Burt and Carole greeted.
"Hi mom." said Finn, giving Carole a warm hug as he entered the house.
"How are you Finn?" she asked.
Finn smiled and nodded. "We're good."
"Grandpa!" Christopher shouted, running towards Burt.
"Hey buddy!" Burt smiled, wrapping him in a hug.
"Now where are my nieces and nephews?" Rachel squealed.
Kurt laughed. "They're waiting for you in the living room Rachel."
She quickly went to see the babies.
"Hey Blaine, where's your sister?" Finn asked.
"Oh, she should be on her way." Blaine replied.
While everyone enjoyed playing with the babies, they were still waiting for Lucy to arrive. Blaine looked at his watch, realizing it was almost time to sit down for dinner.
"Maybe you should call her." Kurt whispered into Blaine's ear and he nodded.
Blaine snuck upstairs, while the rest of the family began to sit at the table. He went into his and Kurt's bedroom and closed the door behind him. Taking out his cell phone, Blaine dialed Lucy's number.
He let the phone ring a few times before it eventually went to her voicemail.
"Hi, you've reached Lucy Anderson. Sorry I can't talk right now. You'll just have to leave me a message and I'll call you back when I can. Thanks!"
Blaine hung his head as he heard the recording tell him when to begin his message and then the beep.
"Hey Lucy, it's Blaine. I was just wondering where you were." Blaine started. "I thought you coming Thanksgiving. I mean if you don't want to that's fine too." he continued. "Everyone's here. Mom, dad and Cooper. Burt and Carole. Rachel and Finn are here too. I know they all would love to see you. So just please come over, or give me a call. Ok, love you. Bye." he finished and hung up the phone.
Before going back downstairs, Blaine checked his text messages, making sure he didn't miss anything from his sister. Unfortunately there weren't any unread texts. Blaine opened the bedroom door and went downstairs to be with his family.
Kurt looked up and saw his husband descending the stairs. Blaine shook his head, indicating he hadn't been able to get a hold of his younger sister.
"Are we going to eat now?" Finn asked.
"Wait, where's Lucy?" Kate asked.
Blaine looked at Kurt, then back at his family. Before he could answer, his phone began to ring. He quickly pulled it out of his pocket and saw it was Lucy calling.
"Hello? Lucy?" Blaine asked, before taking the call into another room.
"Hi Blaine." Lucy said simply.
"Where are you? Is everything ok?" he asked.
"I'm fine." she replied. "Sorry I didn't call. I'll be there as soon as I can."
"Are you sure you're ok?" Blaine asked again.
Lucy nodded her head, even though Blaine couldn't see her. "Yes, everything's fine. I was in the shower and I couldn't hear my phone that's all. I'll be leaving soon. I will be there in time for dessert."
Blaine smiled. "Ok, I'll see you later."
"See you later big brother." she stated and hung up.
After hanging up with Lucy, Blaine walked back into the dining room, where Kate was the first to notice her son.
"Is everything ok?" she asked.
Blaine nodded. "Yeah, that was Lucy." he said simply. "She was in the shower and couldn't hear the phone ring, but she'll be over in time for dessert."
Before eating, everyone went around and announced what they were thankful for this year. The number one thing on everyone's thankful list was the birth of the babies.
Once everyone had finished eating, the babies fed and the table cleared, each man took a baby and sat in the living room to watch a football game.
While Kurt, Blaine and the rest of the women were in the kitchen, hoots and hollers could be heard from the living room when a goal was scored.
"Sounds like they're having a good time." Rachel stated.
Kurt nodded, agreeing with her.
After the dinner dishes had been cleared and the desserts placed on the table, the doorbell rang.
"That must be Lucy." Blaine exclaimed. He opened the door to see his sister, smiling and holding a pie.
"Happy thanksgiving." Lucy said.
"Happy thanksgiving Lucy." he smiled, letting her inside and giving her a warm hug.
"Here, I made this for everyone." Lucy stated, handing her brother the dish. "I haven't tried grandma's recipe in a while, but I hope it turned out ok."
"I'm sure it tastes great." Blaine complimented, taking the dessert and leading his sister into the house.
"Hi mom." Lucy said softly, once she reached the group in the kitchen.
"Lucy!" Kate shrieked, rushing towards her daughter and enveloping her in a hug.
"Did I hear my Lucy was here?" Jack hollered.
Lucy broke free from Kate to turn towards her father and smiled. "Hi dad."
Jack waved her over for a hug as well.
Once everyone had greeted Lucy, dessert was served.
"I'm really glad decided to come." Kurt whispered to Lucy.
Lucy nodded. "You know, it's getting better. Seeing the babies I mean." she began to explain. "I'm not saying I am ready to see them all the time or babysit right away. I think I'm ready to spend short amounts of time with them."
Kurt nodded. "I think that is a great idea."
Lucy smiled.
Blaine and Kurt were getting ready for bed after everyone had left and the babies were sleeping.
"Are you setting your alarm to shopping in the morning?" Blaine teased.
Kurt rolled his eyes, sliding into bed next to Blaine. "No I am not." he stated. "I told both your mom and Carole, whatever time we are ready to leave tomorrow is fine. I'm not in a rush."
Blaine quirked an eyebrow. "Kurt Hummel-Anderson is not in a rush to go shopping?"
"Hey, leave me alone. I just spent the last two days cooking a larger holiday meal and taking care of sextuplets. Give me a break." Kurt whined.
Blaine placed a kiss on Kurt's forehead. "I'm sorry honey. You know I'm only teasing you."
"I know." said Kurt as he started to close his eyes.
"Kurt, what were you talking to Lucy about before?" Blaine asked.
Kurt yawned. "That she's ready to spend time with the babies."
"Really?" Blaine asked, surprised.
Kurt nodded. "Can we talk about this more in the morning?"
Blaine kissed him on the lips. "Yes. Good night beautiful and happy thanksgiving."
"Happy thanksgiving." Kurt replied.
