Chapter 10: Company
Bruce stared down at the newspaper in his hands, letting it drop onto the table top in front of him. Alfred stood before him, his eyes scanning the paper before raising them to Master Wayne.
"I failed her, Alfred," Bruce whispered, dropping into his seat as he stared blankly at the paper, its headline written, Rae Ann Wayne Died in Hospital Explosion. "I trusted them to get her out and they didn't. I failed her. Now Rachel and Rae are gone, I have no one…"
Rae rushed forward, intent on releasing her friend as the Joker caught her around the waist.
"Now, eh, wait just a minute," Joker chuckled, holding her up against him. "I, eh, have some rules set aside for the two of you."
"I, I thought you killed her," Rae whispered, still unable to take her eyes away from Rachel's form.
"Nah, that's just what I wanted everyone to, eh, think. Now, on to the rules."
Joker snapped his fingers and was immediately handed a small black chain. While another goon latched a similar one to Rachel's ankle, Joker gently wrapped the one in his hand around Rae's wrist.
"Now, these two, eh, bracelets are very special. I had these, eh, designed so that you two would have the option of, eh, running around this grand house," he said, licking his lips as he looked between the two. "But there's a catch. Each is supplied with a tracking device that, eh, responses to the little watch on my wrist."
He raised his wrist, showing the two dots glowing on his screen.
"Now, the purple dot is you my dear and the red one is Ms. Dawes. Now I bet you're wondering, eh, why can't you just take off the bracelet? Well, either one of your take it off and Ms. Dawes here will blow up! Hehehe," Joker chuckled, watching the women's shocked expressions.
"Why just Rachel?" Rae whispered, her eyes darting to her friend before Joker gently cupped her cheek and forced her to look at him.
"Because, I do not care if she dies," he said bluntly, his brown eyes staring into her shocked blue ones. "You belong to me. If you disobey me, your friend here will get punished," he said, swiping a hand towards Rachel. "I brought Ms. Dawes here to bring you company and to keep you in line, of course."
Rae's eyes widened and she looked towards Rachel.
"You plan to use her so that I will do whatever you say," she whispered, a lone tear sliding down her cheek.
Joker sighed, stepping back from her.
"I will leave you here to catch up," he said, pulling her into his arms for a demanding kiss.
Rae placed her hands on his arms, trying to push him away as she started to hear Rachel's muffled protests behind them. The Joker released her after several moments, pulling back for air.
"I expect you to start cooperating or Ms. Dawes will be the one to suffer," he warned darkly, his grip on her arms tightening.
"You mean, give into you, completely?" She whispered, her voice revealing her shock.
"Completely and totally," Joker said with a smirk on his lips as he watched her. "You will do everything I tell you to do."
Rae looked towards Rachel, noticing her friends glare at the Joker, which only caused him to chuckle, before she turned back to the Joker. She nodded slowly, her eyes starting to water at the idea of giving into him.
"I will do whatever you ask," she whispered, bowing her head.
The Joker sighed at her distress, gently tilting her face up and kissing her lips gently.
"I'm not such a bad man. You will be treated well if you keep me happy, that's all you need to do."
Again she nodded, turning away from him to go to her friend's side.
"Oh, and if either one of you decides to leave this house Ms. Dawes will blow up!" Joker giggled before leaving the women to themselves.
Rae quickly made work with the ropes tying Rachel to the chair and striping the gag from her mouth.
"Oh, Rae," Rachel said, gathering the young woman into her arms. "I was so worried about you. Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Rae whispered, holding on to Rachel for dear life.
Rachel sighed before pulling back, searching Rae's eyes and shaking her head.
"No, you're not. Talk to me, it will make you feel better."
Rae sighed and then nodded, both of them walking to a couch that sat against one wall.
"Everything has gone so wrong. When the Joker first showed up, Bruce didn't think he was much of a threat. Guess he was wrong," Rae laughed weakly, tears starting to gather in her eyes.
"Oh sweetie, Bruce didn't know this was going to happen," Rachel said, bringing the young woman back into her arms.
"I don't blame him; I just feel so helpless. Bruce taught me to be strong and I'm failing him. There's something about the Joker," Rae paused, taking a deep breath as she pulled her black hair away from her face. "There's something about him that just scares me so much. He's too strong," she whispered, tears sliding down her face as her hands trembled in her lap.
"You did not fail him, Rae. Bruce would be proud of you. You have suffered much and still survived. You have every right to fear the Joker, after everything he has done to you. Everyone fears him."
Rae sighed, wiping the tears from her cheeks as she gave a weak smile to Rachel.
"I know it's selfish of me, but I'm glad you're here. It won't be too bad now."
"Has he hurt you?"
Rae shook her head.
"Not yet, not since he took me back. He was awful in the beginning, very violent and it was worst the night of the party," Rae paused, biting her bottom lip. "But something changed. After that night, he wasn't so violent anymore, except for a slap every now and then."
Rachel stared off in confusion for several minutes, taking in what Rae had just told her.
"You're saying that he's been kind to you?"
Rae nodded, licking her lips before she spoke again.
"Rachel, I have something I need to tell you, in case something was to happen to me. You cannot tell the Joker, ever."
The older woman stared at her, noting the nervous air surrounding the young woman.
"Nothing is going to happen to you-."
"Rachel, swear to me!" She pleaded, grasping onto Rachel's hand, her eyes pleading at her. "I, I need to tell someone, someone here that I can talk to and trust."
Rachel sighed before nodding her head slowly.
"I swear that I will not tell the Joker what you have to say to me, not like I would ever say something to him," she added.
Rae sighed in relief, releasing her friend.
"I'm pregnant with his baby," she whispered, flinching slightly at Rachel's shocked gasp and narrowed eyes.
"He didn't use protection on you?"
"Not once. I don't know why it didn't occur to me that this could happen. He took me so often…"
"What about the birth control I got for you?"
"It was in my purse and that was left at the bank."
Rachel sighed before kneeling on the floor in front of Rae, taking her head in her hands as she stared intently in her eyes.
"We will get through this, you and I. I will help you get through this. But Rae, you won't be able to hide this for long; you will start to show in a few months."
"Hopefully we will be found before that-."
Rachel shook her head, breaking eyes contact for a moment.
"Rae, you don't understand. You won't show for a few months, but if the Joker continues to force himself on you, he will notice shortly. He'll notice that your stomach is firmer, a small mound will become present, and he will notice the difference in your breasts. I'm not saying this to hurt you," Rachel whispered, saddened as Rae started to cry once again. "But you won't be able to hide this from him."
"I don't know what to do. I can't tell him, who knows what he'll do if he finds out. He's a monster," Rae cried, shaking herself free from Rachel's grasp. "My only hope is Bruce finding us."
"Sorry my girl, but Brucey won't even be looking for you," Joker said as he walked into the room with Bozo following close behind, catching the last of her conversation.
He chuckled as Rachel stood before Rae, blocking her from view. He walked towards the women, pushing Rachel to the side. Rachel fell to the floor with the push, quickly scrambling to her feet as the Joker grasped Rae's wrist, yanking her up and pressing himself up against her.
"Get away from her!" Rachel demanded, taking a step towards them.
Bozo came up behind her, grabbing her around the waist and restraining her arms.
"Gotham believes that you perished in the hospital explosion," Joker said, gently cupping Rae's face in his hand as she gasped.
"Bruce?"
"Believes you dead as well, he has arranged the funeral for you and Ms. Dawes on the same day as well as Harvey Dent's."
Both women gasped, their eyes going wide.
"Harvey is dead?"
"Rumors are that Batman killed him and now he is wanted by the police."
Rae's knees went weak and if the Joker hadn't had her in his arms, she would have collapsed to the ground.
"No, this can't be happening," she whispered, struggling weakly in his arms. "You've ruined everything; you've taken everything from me!"
Joker let her pound on him, her weak hits not affecting him in the slightest, until she stilled in his arms, panting heavily.
"That, eh, was the point. I will take everything from you until there is only me for you to turn to," he whispered darkly in her ear, causing her to cringe. "You belong to me."
"Leave her alone!" Rachel shouted, interrupting Joker.
The Joker turned away from Rae to face Rachel, his eyes narrowed angrily on her.
"I brought you here for her company and that was it, I have no problem doing you in, Ms. Dawes," he warned, his tone dark.
"Please, don't hurt her," Rae pleaded, clenching to the Joker's jacket as he turned to her.
His eyes were still cold when he turned to her, but as he stared down into the tearful eyes of his young woman, they softened.
"I will not unless she gives me reason to," he said tenderly, carefully wiping her tears away with his thumb. "I'm a man of my word."
Rachel stood off to the side, staring in amazement at the scene before her. Rae was still scared, but the Joker... Her eyes widened as she registered the look on his face. He is in love with Rae… His painted face was plastered with his adoration and tenderness for her. What the hell was happening around here?
Rae bit her bottom lip before catching herself and letting it go. She glanced around the room with a sigh. After the "chat" down in the basement, Joker had escorted her to what was now "their" bedroom while Rachel was taken to hers next door. Joker had left her here, locking the door as he left and saying that he would be back in a few minutes.
That was an hour ago. Rae drew her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them as a tear slid down her cheek. Bruce thought she was dead, so he won't be looking for her. What was she to do now? She and Rachel obviously weren't going to be found before her pregnancy started showing, so Joker will find out.
The only thing is, does she tell him now or wait for him to find out? He obviously didn't read the report about her pregnancy; otherwise he would have confronted her about it so he didn't know. Rae's head snapped up as she heard the door unlock. She quickly wiped her tears from her face as she scrambled to her knees, folding her hands nervously in her lap as the Joker walked into the room.
Joker had to keep himself from smiling as he studied Rae's demure state. He closed the door behind him, chuckling softly as he locked the door which caused her to tremble.
"You, eh, seem nervous. Is it the scars?" He question with a loud laugh as he rocked on the ball's of his feet.
It was a question he asked several of his victims. Rae raised her eyes to look up at him and he realized that his question had caused her to look at the scars on his face, slowly studying them.
"They do scare me," she whispered, dropping her gaze from them. "At least with the make up."
He stared at her for a few moments before making his way to her. She flinched as he reached out, gently tucking strands of her black hair behind her ear gently. Joker knelled down before her, looking up into her eyes.
"I will not hurt you," he whispered, placing his hand on her thigh.
"But, but I left, you said you would punish me," she whispered, hesitant on reminding him of what he had told her.
"You were forced to leave, though I'm sure you would have if you had known I was in jail," he said before dropping his voice down into a whisper. "Besides, you suffered enough for what that bastard did to you."
"What makes him any different then you?" Rae asked, gasping and clamping a hand over her mouth as she realized that she just spoke out loud to the Joker.
"Because you are mine!" He growled, his hand digging into her thigh and making her cry out before he released her. "He took what was mine. I don't need to make excuses to you; no one touches what is mine!"
"Sorry," Rae said quietly, her form tense as the Joker took several deep breaths.
Joker stood and looked down at her for several minutes before taking a couple steps back.
"Undress."
Rae inhaled sharply, her eyes going wide as they locked on his.
"What?"
"You heard me, undress. Do it on the bed, slowly," he ordered as Rae moved to stand.
Rae took a deep breath, closing her eyes as she raised her hands to the thin straps of her tank top. Joker watched as she slid the thin straps down her shoulders slowly, licking his lips at the slow tease. She slowly removed the shirt, feeling her cheeks blush as she was left in her bra.
"Lie down and remove the skirt."
Rae slowly lay down, a tear sliding down her cheek as she slowly inched the skirt down.
"Stand," he ordered, offering his hand.
She sat up, hesitantly taking his hand and stood. The Joker released her hand, placing his hand on the curve of her back as his eyes raked her form. He slowly circled her, his hand traveling the length of her body as he did so. Rae opened her eyes, worried that he would notice something different about her though she knew that it was impossible to be showing anything.
"I've missed you," he whispered in her ear from behind her, wrapping his arm around her waist and pressing up against her.
Rae squirmed against his hold as she felt his hard on against her bottom, freezing as the Joker moaned.
"I was only gone for a couple days," she whispered, closing her eyes as she heard the Joker rustle out of his clothing.
"It was a couple days too long. Turn around and face me."
Rae opened her eyes and forced herself to turn, seeing that Joker was completely nude. The Joker reached towards her bra, unclipping the front clip before sliding it down her arms to lie at their feet. Rae gasped, stepping back from him and covering her front.
"Don't cover your body from me," he growled, grabbing both her wrists and forcing them behind her back.
"Please, don't," she pleaded as he removed her underwear from her.
"You will listen to me or I will have one of my men beat the crap out of your friend," he warned, pressing her body up against his. "Do you understand?"
Rae nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks as the Joker released her.
"Now lie down," he demanded, pushing her towards the bed.
She slowly crawled onto the bed until she was at the top, turning around and lying down on her back as the Joker climbed up on top her. Joker slowly slid his gaze down her body, his eyes pausing on the greenish-yellow bruises on her inner thighs. He gently traced them, staring at them with rage.
"Open your legs."
Rae shook her head, clenching them together as she closed her eyes tightly. Joker growled at her, grabbing her thighs and forcibly spreading them, placing his knee between them to keep her from closing them. Rae curled her hands into fists, grasping the sheets in her grip as the Joker guided the head of his cock into her entrance. She cried out, raising her hands to his shoulders as he entered her with one deep thrust.
"Shush," he whispered gently, starting to thrust in and out of her as he kissed away the tears on her face.
Rae turned her face away, her eyes still tightly shut as tears streamed down her cheeks. Her nails dug into the Joker's shoulders as he sped up. She couldn't fight him, not with his threat against Rachel, and she didn't want anything to hurt her baby. So she laid still, the only sounds coming from her where whimpers of discomfort and pain, as she let the Joker have his way with her.
It didn't take him long to finish with her. Having been without her for a couple days had driven him crazy. So he finished, coming inside her with a deep thrust and a loud groan.
"There will never be another woman quite like you," he whispered, nuzzling his painted face into the curve of her neck as he withdrew from her body.
He removed his body from on top of hers, rolling to the side as he gathered her in his arms.
"Why me?" Rae whispered, opening her eyes to look up at him. "Why did you signal me out at the bank? Why did you come after me?"
Joker sighed, kissing her forehead before he spoke.
"Because I want you. I didn't, eh, get a good look at the, eh, bank, but enough to, eh, want to fuck you. As for, eh, coming after you, my pet," he said, pausing to lick the sides of his mouth and tightening his arm around her. "You, I'm not, eh, done with you, not by a long shot."
"Do you plan to kill me when you're finished with me," Rae asked quietly after several minutes, her voice quivering for she feared for both her and her unborn child.
Joker sighed in annoyance, startling Rae as he rolled back on top of her and straddled her waist as he pinned her arms to the side.
"You don't get it. I don't make, eh, plans," he whispered, his voice dropping lowly as he felt himself harden against her belly. "I will never be finished with you; you're here for a long time. Right now, you and I have some catching up to do, so we are going to remain locked up in here for the next couple of days," he said, lowering himself on top of her as he started to attack her with his mouth.
Rae closed her eyes, remaining still as she thought about how she had to give into him until he left her, trying not to anger him so that he wouldn't hurt the baby in his passion.
Rachel sat on her bed, trying to block out the noise coming from the next room. The walls weren't paper thin, but she could still hear quite a bit. After hearing her friend's plea, she had heard nothing except occasional whimpers from Rae and groans from the Joker. He had been going at it with her for several hours now, hardly stopping at all.
Rachel couldn't think of what Rae must be going through with the Joker. To be raped by the Joker, several times over and over again… And now she was pregnant! Rae wasn't even technically an adult, not legally, though she acted mature for her age. Rachel gasped, scrambling to her feet as she heard what appeared to be a slap and Rae crying out, the groans becoming loud in the room as she continued to hear slaps and crying in the room. God, please forgive me Rae.
"Stop it! Let her go!" Rachel screamed at the wall separating the two rooms as she started to pound away on it. "Please, you'll hurt the baby!"
AN: Well, Rachel couldn't keep her mouth shut. I never liked Rachel. I don't know why I didn't keep her dead. Well, there is a chapter for you.
