Hey everybody! So I wrote a quick little one-shot to celebrate the release of the doodles today! I don't know about you guys, but I've been looking forward to this day since the game was brought back to life! You better believe the minute I found out about their release, I logged in and bought me my Lizard back. I know it's not the exact same doodle, but I love him just the same!
Thank you to the developers of Toontown Rewritten for bringing back this amazing game! Finally Princess Lollipop Lemonmuffin can be happy again with her beloved doodle!
Disclaimer: I don't own anything Toontown Rewritten related.
The battle had been fierce. Princess Lollipop Lemonmuffin and all the other toons had fought with everything in them to finally defeat the evil cogs. There were times when she had almost given up hope that they would ever win. It took them exactly three years, six months, and twenty-three days to win back their homes and earn their freedom.
Princess Lollipop will never forget that final battle. So many toons were forgotten about over the years, their happiness dwindling to nothingness. However, there were more toons who stood up and said that they wouldn't give up.
When the resistance was first created by Sir Max and his team, many toons had their doubts. However, Princess Lollipop was one of those who stood right beside them and fought with every bit silliness she had left. She would do anything to free her friends and see her darling doodle once more.
It was Sir Max who dealt the final blow to the cogs. He used every last ounce of silliness in his body to take down the CEO of each Cog Unit. Princess Lollipop was by his side when he took out the sellbots CEO, proudly taking out as many Minglers as she could. Minglers had always been her least favorite. She fought Minglers that were at their highest levels, sometimes alone. But she didn't give up, nor did she allow her laff points to dwindle to nothing.
And she cheered with everyone else when they pushed the CEO off the edge of the building, completely destroying the bot. Whatever Cogs were left fled from the playgrounds and streets of Toontown with their metallic tails between their legs. The toons finally came out of hiding when the sunlight began peaking through the clouds, lighting up the perpetual darkness that had been the norm for the past three and a half years.
One by one, the laff of every single toon increased to its fullest potential while everyone celebrated their victory. They had done it, the toons had finally defeated the Cogs.
Princess Lollipop hugged all of her old friends. Many of them she hadn't seen since she joined the resistance all those years ago. Most toons had preferred to lie in wait, unwilling to risk termination. Probably because most toons were younger and not ready to face the seriousness that this battle had been. But now, they were free to leave their homes and greet their loved ones once more.
Sir Max made an announcement. "My friends, we are finally free from the tyranny of the Cogs! We showed them that Toons will not go down easily. These past three and a half years were difficult, but we made it. It's time to rebuild our community. Training will begin as soon as we get this place in tip top shape once more! After all, the Cogs will surely regroup and come after us again. However, we will be ready when they do! For those of you who wish to travel with us to find our beloved doodles, you may do so. Everyone else, celebrate our victory! For tomorrow, the real work begins!"
Everyone cheered when he finished. Princess Lollipop pushed to the front, determined to join the group who would leave to find the doodles. She missed her darling Lizard and she hoped he was well. When she got to the group of Toons that would find the doodles, Sir Max was speaking to them. "We have a good idea as to where the doodles are located. However, after we free them and bring them home, there is one more mission we will need to go on. As you are aware, when the Cogs took over Toontown, they imprisoned all of our leaders. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck all need our help. If you are willing to join, please sign up now."
Princess Lollipop made sure she was at the top of the list!
Finally they set off into the forest, knowing that located somewhere within, their beloved doodles were waiting.
The journey was a long one, but everyone remained optimistic. Just before dark, the forest opened up and revealed a thriving community of doodles. Princess Lollipop cheered with the other toons. She hadn't see a doodle in so long, she had almost forgotten what they looked like. Everyone whistled. They hoped their doodle would recognize the sound and come running to them. Soon enough, Doodles began breaking away from the others and straight towards their masters.
Princess Lollipop nearly cried at the sight of a familiar blue doodle that jumped straight into her arms. "Lizard!" She squealed, hugging him tight to her chest. Lizard cheerfully licked his master cheek. She giggled before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a jelly bean. Lizard hopped off her lap and spun in a circle. She threw it up and he caught it in his mouth.
"Good boy, Lizard!" Princess Lollipop grinned proudly.
The toons decided to camp there for the night. When they slept, they were surrounded by doodles who cuddled up to the toons. All of them had missed the love and affection they received from their masters. Lizard slept proudly on Princess Lollipops chest.
When the sun arose the next morning, the toons and doodles set out for Toontown. It was a beautiful day and everyone was in such a good mood. It had been so long since they felt the sun on their faces.
They finally arrived back to Toontown and the doodles who hadn't been reunited took off to find their loved ones. Princess Lollipop hoped that they each found someone, but she knew some would never find their masters. Too many toons had been taken over the years.
Toontown would live on, however, in the hearts of those toons who cared enough for it. While the war was not yet over, they had won the biggest battle of them all. The toons would keep being silly and have fun no matter what the Cogs threw at them.
And as Princess Lollipop Lemonmuffin held Lizard in her arms, she knew that everything would be alright now.
And there you go, a happy ending! Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this. Hard to believe it was a little over three years ago that I published the first chapter! But now it's come to a happy close!
