Chapter 19
I picked up my swords from the rack and headed out to where my knights had set up a training area. When I arrived they were all already stood there waiting for me. They had all become very interested in my fighting skills after they first saw me fight, and now all of them wanted to have a go at fighting me. As I made my presence know everyone turned around to greet me. Over the past couple of weeks I had made it my mission to get to know my knights even better. The ones that stood out were Leon, Mordred, Percival and Lancelot. Percy walked over and gave me a hearty squeeze. "Hi Percy." He let go of me and a huge smile spread across his face.
"So who am I going to be fighting today?" Percy started to laugh and Lancelot stepped forward, "Looks like you'll be fighting me my Queen." he punctuated it with a wink. I started to laugh and made my way over to the sparring circle. "Come on then pretty boy let's see what you're made of." I quirked my eyebrow at him and did a low bow, flicking my swords out. Lancelot stepped forward and swung his sword, stretching his arms. We circled each other watching the other to see who would make the first move. I skipped forward and clipped Lancelot on the shoulder, then I danced around him to avoid getting my head chopped off. We continued this way for a long time, sweat was covering both of our bodies in a sheen. Lancelot and I were matched in our skill, I was fast and he was strong. Just when it looked like neither of us would win I managed to get under Lancelot's defences and I tripped him up placing my swords at his throat. We both stood there breathing heavily for a second and soon all of the knights and the people who had gathered to watch started to cheer. I collapsed down onto the floor next to Lancelot and started to laugh soon, he was joining in too. He clapped me on the shoulder and let out a long breath. We stayed that way until the knights started to walk up to us, Gwaine stood next to me and put his hand out for me to grab, I obliged and he pulled me up to stand. "Looks like you're back up to fighting strength Kay. The only one that could beat Lancelot was your brother." I smiled up at him and went over to where Lancelot was being held up by Mordred and Leon. "That was great!" Lancelot stepped forward and pulled me into a sweaty hug. "Yeah your pretty good for a Lady." I clipped him around the head and quirked my eyebrow at him. "Well I think I showed you Princess." I winked at him and let Gwaine lead me to my tent.
I got into my tent and proceeded to collapse onto my bed and I could hear Gwaine chuckling behind me. There was a knock on my door and Gwaine walked over to answer it, the conversation was muffled by the cover on my bed. I rolled over just in time to see Gwaine turn around and look at me with awe. I hopped up and walked over to him, placing a hand on one of his well toned arms. "What's wrong?" He looked straight into my eyes and a huge face splitting grin spread across his face. "There's someone else here to see you. Come on." His large hand engulfed mine and he dragged me along, obviously excited about something. My swords were still strapped to my back but I had stopped sweating and was now fairly presentable. Gwaine kept going until we came to Robb's war tent. He looked down at me and smiled, then he bent down and lifted my chin up, kissing me deeply. "It's time for your reward my Queen." I let my eyes open slowly and looked at Gwaine, he dipped his head towards the door indicating for me to enter. I turned and opened the flap walking inside. The strong smell of candle smoke and men hit me in the face. I let my eyes adjust to the dimness inside the tent and looked around. Robb had turned to look at me a huge grin on his face and Merlin was stood in the corner, almost crying. Jory came up next to me and grasped my hand, smiling all the time. I looked to the last man in the tent, he was tall and lean, with bright blonde hair just like me. He wore the typical knight armour with a red cloak embellished with a golden dragon on the shoulder. He turned around and his bright blue eyes met my green ones and I swear I stopped breathing. I fell into Jory and tears started to run down my face. Choked sobs raked through me, making me sound like a crazed women. He stepped forward his gold sword strapped to his side. "But I watched you die." He blinked and stepped closer, testing to see if it was okay to come closer. Jory kept his arms around me, maybe in an act of comfort. He stopped in front of me and took my hands in his gloved ones. "Yes I was dead. There's a prophecy Kayla, it says that one day when the need is greatest that I shall return to walk the earth and help stop the strife." I looked at him, his face so familiar yet foreign at the same time. I put my hand on his face, trying to tell myself that he was actually stood in front of me and that he was real. "I've missed you so much Arthur." He smiled at me and put one of his hands on top of mine. "I've missed you too little sister." He pulled me into a hug and I buried my face in his neck letting the familiar smell of him fill my nose. At that point in time I finally felt complete. My love and my brother had returned to me. I pulled away from him and smiled, I looked over Arthur's shoulder at Robb and Merlin who were both smiling. I ran up to Robb and grabbed onto his neck as he hugged me back. "Now I have even more brothers." This made Robb laugh and I saw a tear roll down his cheek, I wiped it away with my finger like he had done so long ago. "It's okay Robb." He sniffed and nodded his head.
"I know Kay, it's just so nice to see you so happy." I beamed up at him and he chuckled slightly.
"Now we're going to get your family back too." I looked at him with my 'I mean business face', this made him smile and he hugged me again. I then looked over at Merlin who was hugging Arthur, relief evident on his face. I ran over to Arthur and grabbed his hand pulling him out of the tent. "Come on my knights have missed you as much as I have."
