I've read this Fic several times, and each time I do I'm struck by how real the characters feel - they are not the idealized, inhuman [and impossible] silhouettes that often occur in stories. This Fic is funny and witty and at every step heartbreakingly honest, as well at times simply heartbreaking. In just three "chapters" (although to me they feel more like vignettes) TheFicChick is able tell a story that feels - for all intents and purposes - as if it's decades (I assume?) in the making.
