"So? What happened at the beach? We didn't see you come back" Sora was quizzing Matt for any gossip whilst they were the only 2 down super early for breakfast.
"Nothing, well nothing aloud or physical anyway but after you and Mimi abandoned us we got to the beach and the view was so amazing, the beach not Tai" Matt interjected seeing the mischievous look on her face, "there was like a connection between us but I don't know what it means. Grr I'm pretty damn sure we have something but I'm too scared to actually…" Matt gestured his hands in a pushing motion.
"I swear you're really a woman!" Sora rolled her eyes at him, "look today we're diving so we'll be out on a boat all day long, use this opportunity to get real close and test the waters so to say." She looked very impressed with her little pun but Matt's brain was working overtime to figure something out. Now he knew there was almost definitely something between he's do anything to not lose it.
All 6 of them made their way to the diving centre at the docks to start the day. Joe and Izzy had decided to join this venture as they'd both done plenty of research behind the whole thing so they were well prepared.
"I know what to do if faints under water" Joe stated.
"As long as the tanks are filled with 220 bar of air and not subjected to too much heat then there is plenty of air for a 40 min dive" Izzy said with his finger in the air like he was giving a mini lecture.
As luck would have it, it was only the 6 of them that had booked that day which was pleasant both for the dive and for the game.
They went to the boat where they were shown all of their equipment and taught how to set it all up and check each other buddy. With that all done they went up on to the top deck and had a dive brief as the boat cruised out the dock into the ocean. They were informed they had about 45minute until they reached the dive site so could relax for a bit. Naturally Joe and Izzy went inside the lounge area and carried on reading about their dive and what they could see. Sora, Mimi, Tai and Matt went straight for the open area of the top deck designed for sun bathing. Tai and Matt lay closer to each other than normal to which the girls had to supress a squeal as they knew nothing had actually really progressed between them.
15min from the site they all went to kit up. Sora and Mimi buddied, Joe and Izzy went together and Tai and Matt buddied. To be honest this was probably how they would split anyway even if the game wasn't in play because no one could bare the constant technical talk that they would give them. With all the movement from the waves the boat wasn't the stillest place to get in wet suits or lift on heavy air tanks. As such each buddy pair kept bumping into each other which elicited a permanent blush stain Tai and Matt's cheeks as they gave each other little shy apologetic looks.
'I need to know' Matt thought.
He made a rather bold step to 'test the waters' like Sora said. When the boat lunged he grabbed hold of Tais' shoulder to steady himself which ended up pulling them quite close to each other. Tai was shocked initially but made no movement to remove Matts hand or increase the distance between them. Matt shot Tai a flirtatious look making the brunette think 'what's he playing at … hang on wait?'
The dive was amazing for everyone seeing lots of different fish and corals which of course Izzy ID'd to everyone once at the surface,
"well that group of fish we saw on that pinnacle was fairy basslet and did you see the spotted Moray eel about 20 minutes in just sticking its head out from the coral, oh and the porcupinefish and the…."
"My my young sir you certainly are good at your fish" remarked the guide.
They enjoyed some lunch on the boat then had a couple hours to kill before the second dive. Sun bathing was in order. The girls took up their position with Tai and Matt coming to join them. Matt bolstered by his encounter with Tai earlier pushed further,
"Hey Tai can you put some sun cream on my back please?"
"Why not get one of the girls to do it?" Tai said absently provoking a pout from Matt.
"As if I'm getting oily sun cream all over my hands" Mimi quipped.
"I've done my stint touching that body thanks" Sora said not even looking over.
'Well geez thanks Sora' Matt mused to himself.
"Alright then I'll do it, lay down then." Tai directed Matt, who sensed something in his tone.
Matt lay down on his front arms crossed under his head, head tilted towards Tai who had knelt right next to him knees pushing against ribs. Tai started off just rubbing in the cream like any normal friend would but then he slowed down and began to almost massage Matt. Matt's eyes had slid closed enjoying the feeling of being caressed.
"Mmm" a little moan had escaped Matt's mouth without consent forcing him to snap his head down to hide the immense blush that surely covered his face. He noted there had only been a small falter in Tais hands before he continued, 'is he trying to elicit more of that from me?'
Tai suddenly finished his mini massage on Matt and flopped down on his back right next to him so they were practically laid on each other. Luckily the girls weren't paying them any attention so all this had gone unnoticed … thank god!
Coming up after the 2nd dive all everyone could talk about was the Green Turtle they saw. On the way back to the dock everyone was sat around chatting, the activities of the day leaving them all in a good mood.
The evening was pretty uneventful, everyone had dinner and went to the respective room. This is where it got interesting. Tai wanted to test a theory he had in his head he was so dearly hoping was true. In their room they were setting about getting ready for bed, Matt was in his boxers in the bathroom just finishing up washing his face. Tai came up behind him, also only in boxers, gripping Matts shoulders rubbing them in a similar way to the boat.
After a flash of tension Matt relaxed eyes closing,
"Tai," he sighed.
"So I didn't imagine your reaction on the boat earlier, you moaned!" Tai whispered in Matt's ear. Matt realised this was not in his imagination but was actually happening, his eyes snapped open, brain buzzing.
"It's quite a common reaction to a massage. Speaking of which you were only meant to be putting sun cream on me not rubbing me down."
This caught Tai off guard, he removed his hands from Matt and walked away,
"I was just making sure it was rubbed in properly."
Matt smiled, he was back in control of the game and he knew he would win.
Returning to the bedroom Matt found Tai had curled in bed facing away from him but he was still awake. Matt joined him under the covers moving right up behind him to spoon him resting his head on Tais shoulder.
"I know what you want and I want it too" Matt couldn't help the mischievous grin on his lips.
"Matt don't tease me, not about this"
Matt shocked at the reaction he'd received, that's not what he thought would happen. Instead of letting him go and moving away he held on to Tai trying to convey to him that he wasn't teasing. They both fell asleep without any more being said.
