HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'M UPDATING TWICE IN A DAY BECAUSE I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR NOT UPDATING AT ALL IN MONTHS! Sorry for the caps I forgot to turn it off and now I really can't be bothered to change it all. J
So! This is the second chapter of today and I am really excited about it! I don't know why, but I'm enjoying it all the same! Love you!
Disclaimer: I don't own Young Justice and probably never will so I have to live with it and accept it *sniffles*
Dick's P.O.V.
Ugh. Wally is a nightmare. Have I mentioned that before? I probably have, but if I haven't, he is. A nightmare, I mean. I have been listening to him for what feels like hours about how 'amazing' this Millie girl is, but, if you ask me, she doesn't sound that amazing. She sounds like a nice person, just not the type I would imagine Wally dating. But then again I haven't met her in person. But that is just what I'm about to do. Meet her. I tried to get out of it, don't get me wrong- I hate socialising and meeting new people (plus I need to work out who Artemis' 'killer' is) - but Wally was insisting, and I eventually gave in. Now we are walking to the park, where, apparently, Millie usually hangs out on a Saturday (and he says I'm the stalker) and we are going to 'accidentally' meet her there. Even though he has literally spoken to her three times. Three.
"Dude, stop looking so miserable. This is going to be brilliant." Wally said, smiling uncertainly.
"I'm sorry, I'm just not particularly thrilled about meeting your crush that you have literally spoken to three times when I could be finding out who tried to make it look like Artemis was dead."
"But you are finding out if she likes me or not; you still get to do detective work."
"That's not the point." I was about to explain what the point was when I saw Wally suddenly stand still and take a deep breath in.
"What?" I asked.
"There she is." I looked where he was looking and saw a girl, quite small, with long blonde hair, blue eyes and glasses. She was sitting on a bench reading a book; I slowly turned to face Wally, a shocked look on my face. He turned to me and said:
"What?"
"You like a geeky girl."
"She's not geeky."
"Dude. She's reading a Paul Blue (John Green referenceJ) book and she has science homework in her bag."
"That doesn't mean she's geeky."
"Really? Because you call me a geek if I even look at my homework at the weekend."
"This is why you're the detective. Plus, what's wrong with her being geeky?"
"Nothing. It's just I distinctly remember you saying to me: 'If I ever fancy a geeky girl, shoot me before I do anything bad.'"
"Yeah, but that was before her." Wow. He is whipped. I said so but he just ignored me and 'bravely' walked over to her.
"Hey." He said when he was in earshot. She looked up, surprised, and smiled brightly.
"Hi!"
"You're the girl I sit with in Chemistry, aren't you?"
"Oh yeah... Hi, Wally!" Wow she actually knows his name. That's a start.
"Hi, do you usually come here?" Smooth.
"Yeah, every Saturday actually."
"Really? That's funny, I usually do to." Lying. The best way to get a girl.
"Really? Because I have come here every Saturday since I was 11 and I know every face, and I don't remember yours." Ha. I kind of like her.
"Huh... maybe we've just been here at different times?"
"Yeah... maybe..." Her gaze drifted towards me, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't notice you! Who are you?"
"I'm Dick, this guy's friend." I said gesturing towards Wally.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Millie, this guy's love interest." She put out her hand and I shook it, smiling. I like her.
"Wh- what? Love interest? Who said anything about that?" Wally stammered.
"Well, it is kind of obvious." Millie said, shrugging her shoulders. Wally just stared at her with his mouth hanging open while she returned to her book. I laughed and said,
"Maybe you should try and be friends?" he glared at me and I laughed more, Millie looked up with a thoughtful expression and said,
"Well, I haven't said if I like him or not yet." Well that changed things a bit. I could practically feel Wally's confidence growing as he smirked at me.
"Do you?" I asked.
"Not in that way. But he'd be a good friend." She said smiling at me. She so likes him. Wally's face fell and he muttered something under his breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
"What did you say?"
"Just wondering how anyone can not like me." I rolled my eyes.
"Do you maybe think it's because of that big ego that you have?" Millie said and I have to say, I agree. I looked around the park, actually enjoying myself, Wally was right, this is brilliant. Until...
"Shit." I said. Was brilliant, until I saw it.
"What?" Wally asked, him and Millie had been arguing about who had the bigger ego until I swore and they both turned my way.
"Wally, we have to go." I said, still looking at the thing.
"Why?" He said.
"Now." He finally turned to look at what I was looking at, his eyes widened and he swore colourfully. Confused, Millie turned to look as well, but Wally stopped her,
"Well, it was nice seeing you here, but we have to go, and so do you."
"What? Why?"
"Let's just say that someone that doesn't like us is here and if he sees us with you, you'll be in danger." Not lying anymore.
"Do you do drugs?"
"What? No! Where did you get that from?"
"Well, drug people have guns, and you could be in debt so they are out to kill you and anyone you love."
"You watch way too much TV." Wally said.
"Wally, we need to go." I said as the person was about to turn our way.
"Right." He took Millie's arm and dragged her up.
"What are you doing?"
"Getting you out of here." Wally said and looked her in the eyes. It must have done something since she nodded and gathered up her stuff and walked with us.
"What's he doing here?" Wally whispered as soon as we were walking.
"Artemis." I said in reply.
"Shit." I nodded and took one last look at the person that would probably cause a lot of terror.
Sports Master.
ME: DONE! I'm sorry it's shorter than usual but I felt like that just needed to be the ending!
KALDUR: Well that took a surprising turn; there was also a lot of speech.
ME: I'm sorry about that as well, and do you guys like Millie? I don't know if I should keep her in the story or not...
KALDUR: We could have a vote.
ME: I KNOW! We could have a vote! I have created a poll on my account, click yes if you want Millie to stay or no if you don't want her to. If you are a guest user you can't vote on the poll, so if you just review if you want her to stay or not then I will count it as a vote!
KALDUR: Good plan. Also review if you have any comments in general.
ME: Yes Kaldur! You're finally getting the point of being here!
KALDUR: Should I be offended at that?
ME: Love you lots and thank you for carrying on reading! *sends you virtual love*
