wow. I'm a major procrastinator. sorry it took me so long to update! um...please review!
Linzy
After we finished the hallway and everyone went home, kass and I walked down the empty hallways to our lockers.
I frowned, then turned around and walked out the door.
"Linzy, where are you going?"
I shook my head. "I don't know about you, but I don't want to spend another night in this school. It's time we find a place to live. Its obvious we're not going home anytime soon, so we might as well enjoy our time here."
Kass just shrugged. "maybe, but where are we supposed to live? It's not like we have the money to buy our own house…"
she trailed off as I pulled a handful of cash out of T.B.
"money's no issue. There's a whole BANK in here."
"so why haven't we bought a house already?!" she demanded, grabbing my hand and dragging me down the road.
"Well for one, it would draw a lot of attention for two teenaged girls to buy a house with cash. Also, I haven't seen any houses for sale… because I've been stuck in the school for so long."
Kass and I scanned the neighborhood near the school, keeping an eye out for any for-sale signs.
"Wouldn't it be better to do this during the day?" I asked kass as we walked.
"no."
I sighed.
"…I'm going to find a hotel." I turned on my heel and walked away.
"Linzy, noo! We need our own house! How else am I going to have a sleep-over with Alice and Duncan?!"
I raised an eyebrow. "Uh, you won't?"
"Linzy!"
I sighed. "Fine. You find a house; I'm going to read for a while." after handing her T.B I settled down under a street light and started reading.
"But Liiinnnnzzzzyyyyyyy!" I ignored her and soon lost myself in my book. '
About an hour later kass ran up to me, painting hard, a smile plastered on her face.
"Guess what?" she asked, hands on her knees. "…what?"
"I bought a house!" she exclaimed, jumping up in glee.
"…really?" I was surprised; I didn't think she could actually buy a house.
"Yes, really! I got a great deal on it too! Come on!" she yanked me to my feet and trotted off in the opposite direction.
I rolled my eyes before running after her, fingers curling around my book.
"look, there it is up ahead!" she called, and as we drew closer I began to understand how she could have bought it on such short notice.
The place was a wreck; obviously built a hundred years ago or more, the fire-hazardous three story home tilted at a strange angle; it was almost horizontal.
I groaned. "kass, we can't live here!"
she turned around with a huff. "Sure we can! We have enough stuff in your crazy backpack for any repairs to be easy!"
"…that's not how it works kass! Even if we have the tools, there's still a lot of work to do… and she's gone."
kass had completely ignored me and run up to the house, fiddling with some keys before disappearing inside.
I sighed again and followed, stepping up onto the porch then through the door.
It was actually in better shape on the inside than the out; there was even furniture scattered around the living room and a TV sitting in the corner.
I turned into the hall and checked out the other rooms: a kitchen , bathroom, and bedroom; and there were two more bedrooms on the second.
On the third floor, which was little more than a large attic, was a computer room as well as a section for games and another TV.
It was then that I realized the outside might have been a façade; there was absolutely nothing wrong with the house itself.
We had just settled down to watch TV in the attic, (wow, they call this television?), when something completely unexpected happened.
The roof above our heads shuddered, and then was ripped off completely.
"Really?! We just got this house and already its falling apart?!" kass shrieked.
"uh, I don't think it's the house…" I said, my voice trailing off in a whisper.
Three giant dragon-like heads hovered over the gaping hole, their eyes glinting in the moonlight.
They were kaiju…but then again…they weren't.
"um, hi?"
