Kass gave me a funny look as I tossed her a pair of long johns.

"What are these?!"

I smiled.

"Flame retardant underwear, as requested."

She gave them a scrutinizing look.

"These… are not underwear."

"uh, yes they are."

"um, no, they are like, pajamas, or something."

"…"

"I get it; we're from Florida, but seriously? You dont-"

Kass and I lurched when the giant blue Kaiju…erg, female kaiju umm…Femju? Yeah, Femju – made a sound that resembled a laugh.

"You are so obviously out of your comfort zone, yet you are acting as if everything is normal for you. What strange creatures."

I blinked.

"That's just how we cope. You wouldn't believe all we've been through together- actually, you wouldn't want to, so don't ask."

At some point I fell asleep…somehow… and I only woke up when I heard water. A lot of water.

Like- Niagra falls water.

In actuality it was Niagra falls.

or its twin.

At any rate, it was a large waterfall with tons of people standing around…none of which appeared to notice the three giant dragon-monsters flying over their heads.

I glanced back at the Femju holding me and noticed that I couldn't SEE her.

She was gone.

Literally.

I squeezed my eyes shut and opened them again.

This time I could see the outline of the Femju, as well as a glowing spot on her chest.

It was a gem, kinda like the one Alice has on her forehead, only this one was a shimmering see-through green.

Taking a deep breath to calm myself I strained my eyes to find kass and the green Femju holding her.

There.

She was just an outline, but I could see that she was alright, so I was happy.

I'd like to say I didn't scream when they dive-bombed into Niagra falls.

…That would be a lie.

"HOLY TOLEDO

AHHHHHHH

OH MY GOONEISH

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

At least what I shouted was clean.

What kass proudly proclaimed shall NEVERbe re-written by these fingertips.

"KASS!"

I scolded her as we came through the water into a tunnel.

She made a whimpering sound.

"Im soooorrrrry!"

I rolled my eyes.

"Strange creatures indeed…"

I shot the Femju a dirty look, which was ignored.

"General Comoro, are you sure bringing them here was a good idea?" The grey Femju inquired.

"It is the orders of the empress, cadet Chalye. You may take up any doubts with her when we are through here."

The three landed and Chalye bowed her head. "I apologize, general. I spoke out of place. May I return to the compound now for debriefing of our next mission?"

The general nodded.

"you may. Report to Marlia once you do."

"yes general."

With that she turned her lumbering form and headed down an adjoining tunnel.

'Huh. That's strange,'

I thought as I watched her stalk away.

'She doesn't have a tail.'

I turned to Comoro in silent question.

She but shook her head and continued on.

"We have places to be."

Um… I was standing in a hole.

I squinted up through the narrow opening above my head.

I could barely see Kass's burgundy mop of hair, but I knew she was looking at me in concern.

"uh, what am I doing down here exactly?"

I was answered with a generous amount of rocky soil showering over my head.

"LINZY!"

They were burying me alive...

and there was nothing I could do about it.
