They had been enjoying a visit to the city zoo when she did it again.

At the panda exhibit, leaning over the railing and staring starry eyed at the fuzzy mammals, her expression did not match her age. Dressed informally for their excursion from the palace, her stately grace had evaporated and transformed her back into the teenager he'd first fallen in love with. "I wish they had some babies so we could see them!"

As soon as the words were said, Endymion heard himself groan. She turned to him, confused.

"Serenity," he put a hand to his forehead, feeling a migraine coming on. "We've talked about this..."

She pouted, crossing her arms and turning back to watch the zebra-ed giants lumber around their enclosure. "My wishes don't always come true."

"Yes, they do." He blew out a breath. "Remember that time you wished that cafe down in old town had more sweet teas? And suddenly they had more menu options the next time we visited, and with a discount on sweet teas?"

"They just overheard me, that's all. Its good business for them to listen to their customers."

"And that time you wished you didn't have to go to the doctor for your yearly checkup, and the office closed for renovations the next week?"

She scoffed. "Coincidence."

"What about when you wished that the cherry blossoms would bloom early before you had to go visit Peru for the treaty agreement, because you wanted to see them before your trip."

She turned back towards him, hands on her hips. "They do bloom early sometimes on their own you know!"

"Or when you wished that the weather would cool down last summer and the next day it dropped 15 degrees, and the meteorologists talked about how baffling it was for weeks on the casts-"

"Weather is fickle. Not my doing."

"You wished that Chibi-Usa would 'hurry up and come out already' when you were barely into your third trimester. She was born almost a month early and everyone was so worried she wouldn't make it."

She hesitated a moment. "I knew she'd be fine. She's my baby girl after all..."

"So you did know that your wishes were being answered by the crystal." He watched her expression for any hint of her thoughts.

She crossed her arms again. "I'm not answering that. I think all of that was just coincidence. The crystal only answers my wishes when I wish for something with all my heart, and use my power with it. I didn't do that any of those times."

He didn't bother voicing that all her wishes were made with all her heart, it was just her nature. "But you can't ignore the possibility that since you ascended as Sailor Cosmos the crystal may have formed an even closer bond with you...and may not require your direct power anymore to activate."

She huffed by didn't answer.

He sighed. "I just want you to be less careless with your wishes. If I'm right, and the crystal is responding to every trivial wish you make, you would wish something dangerous without thinking like 'I wish I could live in a sea of chocolate' and wipe out Crystal Tokyo without intending it."

She laughed, but then quieted. "That does sound like something I might wish for. Alright. Just in case, I'll be more careful."

He smiled, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and looking out towards the pandas. "I hope they do breed soon too. They may not be endangered anymore, but the little ones are adorable."

Later that year, he was flipping the news when he saw the feature story about a panda pregnancy. "Coincidence," he muttered, shaking his head and glancing beside him to the sleeping form of his wife. The followup story on a roadside truck accident that had resulted in a huge load of chocolate tumbling down into a river and promptly melting in the heat had him burying his face in a pillow.

AN: Fluff. Don't write it often. I'm sure the premise of her casual wishes being answered could be good enough to write a story on, but I don't have the perfect wish in mind for it. If anyone else wants to run with it, go ahead.
