Bad new? Well, the updating new chapters for this is basically non-existent…
Good new – well, if you are reading this, it means I have updated every chapter so far! Well, most of it was done a long time ago, and I'm no professional editor… So if you see any grammatical/spelling errors, please tell me in a review or a private message. I do go on quite often to read (like, literally once a day), so I will get your message within a day or 2.

Chapter 10: The Dragon ~-..-~ Dragon Ball Saga

2 hours later: Yamcha joined the rest of the gang outside. He and Goku went to search the big castle from the inside while Bulma opened up the dragon radar to see why it said all 7 dragon balls are together, even though one is a confirmed fake. There was also the problem that it couldn't zoom in, and repeated presses from Oolong resulted in the radar being so zoomed-out that no one could tell the difference between any of the dragon balls.

Goku and Yamcha started searching the main floor, blasting walls down with Kamehameha waves and searching the rooms they find. They didn't find the last dragon ball, and Goku got really tired really fast, so Yamcha set him back out to the rest of the gang. But that was about an hour and a half ago, and there still weren't any signs of the dragon ball, so he finally went out to see if Bulma finished fixing the device. What he found was that the sky was getting dark, and a house capsule that Bulma bought back at the bunny town. He Jumped down from the 3rd story of the castle and tried the doorknob. It was locked. That's strange. The Bulma of my time would have left the door unlocked, if not completely wide open. Did I already mess up the time line?

He knocked on the door. He waited a second before he felt a power level come towards him. Ohh, the guessing game! Let's see here… its way to small for Goku, also Pu'ar is stronger than this. I don't think it's Oolong, so that would make it… "Oh hey Yamcha! Come on in. Oolong just made us some dinner. He has been making it for hours, but every time he put a dish out, Goku ate it right up! The little guy is passed out on the couch. Oh ya, sorry about the door being locked. Oolong was too freighted by the gun and the evil man, and he didn't want anyone coming in without one of our permissions." Ahh, so that's the reasoning.

"Mmm, food sounds really good right now." Yamcha went over to the table, and stepped in a puddle on the floor "Um, Bulma? Why is the floor wet?"

"Ahh, that's a long story. Let's see if I can make it short. Ok, so I was almost finished fixing the dragon radar. Goku was over there and was getting board waiting for the next dish to come out, so he went adventuring around the house. Anyways, he found some sort of device over there that changes the weather inside the room. At first it was sunny, and there was a sun on the ceiling that looked like it actually came from outside. Then he put on the "night time" luminance, which I quickly told him to change because I couldn't see what I was looking at. He knew to change it to a different 'day' time setting, so he turned it to "day showers", not knowing what the kanji for a shower was, and it's started to rain. I was able to save most of my work, but I had to replace a couple of pieces due to the water damage and short circuiting. I made him switch it back and then clean up the water, but I guess he missed a spot."

Yamcha was already eating some food at this point. He swallowed the piece of pork that was in his mouth and asked "Talking about the dragon radar, is it fixed yet?"

"It's very close. It should take about 5 more minutes of wire replacing and soldering, all the important electrical components are in place, and not much programing has to be done. And don't worry now, I will seal it when I'm away from it, so it can't get damaged again."

Yamcha was finishing his rice pilaf and nodded his head. It's almost finished, that's good.

"I don't know, though. At first, I wanted to wish for a perfect boyfriend. But you're from the future, so can't you just tell me who I end up with?"

She looked over at him and batted her eyes, leaning over the table in such a way that she revealed cleavage. This was the exact same pleading style she used whenever she wanted something from him back when they where dating. Or when she wanted him to crawl into bed with her and…

The thought made him choke on the rice. He washed it down with the oolong tea and tried to regain posture. Straightening himself out, he replied "No, no information on the future. If I say anything, it might end up not happening anyways, because I said it. Anyways, it's dangerous to know things about others that they might not even know yet. Trust me on this."

Bulma pouted for 5 seconds, before replying with "Well, what's your bright idea for the dragon balls?"

Yamcha replied almost instantly. "Well that is easy. I want to know why I'm here. I must have come back for a reason, right? Did I miss something the first time, or is there still something that is left to be done? I should be enjoying the afterlife now, chilling with King Kai, Chichi, Pu'ar, and having a grand old time. But I'm stuck here, and it seems I have to relive all the pain and suffering I already went through, plus whatever else seems to come my way. And I have to do everything with the pressure of knowing that I can screw anything up at anytime. Who knows what I already done wrong? Now, we were supposed to be where I put Pilaf, locked away in his cell, drugged into some sort of sleep. Does me saving us actually do us more harm than good?"

"Of course not!" Bulma said, defiant as ever. "Food and a good rest is definitely better had then not had! Anyways, actually having the dragon balls and knowing they are safe with us is a good thought." She didn't say anything after, appearing to be in thought. "You know what? I like your wish. And I'm all fired up! Keep eating; by the time you finish, I will know where the dragon ball is!"

Well, I don't know what has gotten into her, but the sooner we get that last dragon ball, the better. He finished eating his food, and searched for everyone's Ki. Oolong finally made something for himself to eat; he also seems a little frustrated about something now. If I had to guess, it would be his role in life. I really should not have said anything… Maybe I should tell him about his 'wonderful' future, the same future I want to escape from happening to me again. Who knows, maybe he will like it, or maybe he will try to turn it around. Goku is passed out; he has a low resting power level and everything. But not too low, saiyan genes passed on those that let their body heal, but weren't completely venerable to an attack. Bulma's energy is everywhere, I guess she is really excited. And Pu'ar is somewhere else on the first level. I'd love to see what he is doing, but I should talk to Oolong… well why can't I do both?

After a couple of seconds and a 'poof' sound, he went to the kitchen and knocked on the door. "Hey, Oolong, can I come in?"

"Yes, come in come in! Did you need more food?"

"No no, I actually need to talk to you. First thing first, please don't be scared of me anymore. In my time, we were friends. We hung out every day for a while, over at Roshi's place, where we basically lived. We hung out just to hang, played games, or watched one of Roshi's pervy VCR tapes."

"Really? That… that sounds pretty fun. What else do we do?" Oolong questioned

"For you? That's about it. You grow up kind of alone. You occasionally get girls, but through tricks and your transformations. They eventually find out, and that usually ends it. If that doesn't end it, your perverseness does. Your content, though."

"So I end up alone. That's… that is really depressing." Oolong looked down at his feet. His life seemed to end out ok. But he truthfully hoped it would be more. He wanted to be a movie star maybe, get a lot of money, do a lot of things, then explore the most leisure places that the world will offer him. But to be so broke that he was living out of someone else's house, and alone with only friends to comfort him; it didn't suit what he imagined in life.

"But you know, it doesn't have to be this way." Yamcha butted in, noticing his friends sadness. "The universe isn't set for a specific action to happen, trust me on this. Any action you do now can change the future. So listen to my advice. Bulma will take you back to the city when we are finished here. Originally, you sit and watch TV most days, going out and fail at getting girls all the other days. What you should do this time, is try to better yourself. Go back to shape-shifting school, get a better education, and learn to use your forms better and for longer times. If you better yourself, others will think better of you. Think about it, you can do almost anything if you put your mind to it."

Oolong was still looking down, but started thinking. I can do anything I set my mind to? I almost messed up before; only being able to hold a form for 5 minutes is way too little. Maybe I should go and get better. But I'm too old to go back to my old school… Hey, Bulma is smart! Maybe I could ask her to teach me so I could get into my grade. It could be my reward for helping to find the dragon balls!

A childish plan, yes, but it filled this young pig with hope. He looked up feeling better, he was about to tell Yamcha his plan, but just as the word "Thanks!" was about to pop out of his mouth, Yamcha vanished, and there was a rush of air as the door closed.

Un-known to Oolong, Yamcha was using a technique called the Multiform, and this body was about to go back his other half that was about to finish talking to Pu'ar. Yamcha wanted to talk to 2 people at once, and decided to practice this technique. That, and to see if his mind can still handle being in 2 spots at once, talking to 2 different people. Always finding a way to practice and train, something he picked up from Vegeta.

Anyways, while he was talking to the pig, he was checking in with the cat as well. "So buddy, what's up?" He said while opening the door, to find the cat struggling to stay floating with a 5 pound weight in his hand, slowly dragging him downwards.

"Oh, Yamcha!" Pu'ar said, in his usual high pitched voice, which was slightly higher due to being surprised. He also dropped the weight and flew backwards a bit. Yamcha flinched, and would have caught the furry creature, but it seemed that his friend could save himself. The little guy was able to gather enough energy to steady his levitating bobbing, even if it took a couple of seconds. The weight never did hit the floor, Yamcha was able to scoop it up right before it hit.

"So whatcha doing?" Yamcha replied, looking as relaxed as he possibly could.

"I… I wanted to do more! I can help in more ways than just being a space holder. I can fight!"

"I know you can, but you really don't have to. You can relax, you know. You have a good life ahead of you, go live it!"

"But I don't want to live it without you! If you're gone, who is going to read me books till I fall asleep, or make the dinner when I can't, or go rob people of all their valuables? Who will be there to be my friend? I can't stay with you unless I get stronger; you're moving way too fast for me!" Pu'ar replied.

Ohh, so that's the reason. "Pu'ar, listen. You will always be with me. If not in body, then in spirit. And I admit, there might not be times where we are together, but when we can be, we will be. After we make our wish with the dragon balls, I need to go to Roshi's house with Goku while we train with Krillin. And no offense, but not only might you get hurt, but you will probably distract me from my training. But there is something you can do. Oolong is most probably going to the city with Bulma and to learn more about his transformation abilities, as well as getting a formal education. I want you to do the same, and if you want to work out on the side, that can only help. I will be a participant at the next world tournament. After that, we can be together again, ok? I have some traveling to do, and it will be great if you would be my traveling partner."

Yamcha's smile was there, the one that did not suit his young body, but it suited the mood. It showed his truthfulness, his happiness at his second life and more time with the cat, but also the pain of having to be separated from his close friend. Pu'ar knew all these signs from being with him for so long, even if this version of him is from the future and different in a lot of ways.

"One year at most, ok? I'll take the time, I'll learn to do better, and I will see you at the tournament!" Pu'ar now also had on a smile. It was a shame, though, because Yamcha could easily tell this smile was not true. Pu'ar was hurting inside, he didn't want to leave his friend, but he couldn't help it. If Yamcha wanted to go somewhere, he was going somewhere. And Yamcha wanted to go somewhere.

"Sounds good. That sounds great. But hey, we are still together now, so let's enjoy th-"

Yamcha never got to finish the sentence. There was a shout from the main room "YAMCHA!"

Yamcha turned around and was half way out of the room when he paused, and turned. "We will finish talking later, all right? This sounds bad."

He didn't wait for a response, his other half, who couldn't hear the scream, was already out of the bathroom. He quickly came back together, into one person, and sped to where Bulma was yelling from. It took over a second to get down there, and Yamcha silently cursed at himself for being so slow. Coming together with yourself is a bit disorienting.

There was no one there but her. And she looked happy and triumphant, not scared or cornered like Yamcha thought she would be. I have to stop jumping to conclusions… Even after everything that has happened, we should be safe here. "Bulma, is everything ok here? And if so, what's up?"

"I fixed the dragon radar! And then I found the problem. You know the box that held the last dragon ball? I found it outside where you dropped it. Well, it turns out the top dragon ball was a fake! They managed to make a fake one that emits a wave that is close to the same type of frequency the dragon balls produce! It is not entirely the same, so after tuning up the machine, I was able to eliminate the signal of it from the device."

"Ok, that's good and all, but what about the other dragon ball? Wait, you said something about the 'Top dragon ball.' Does that mean that there is another?"

"Yep! A hidden panel. And I was about to open it, before I remembered the explosion that happened the first time…" She stared into space a bit, and then refocused her attention on him. "So, I was thinking you could go outside and reveal what's behind curtain number 2!"

"And then we can make my wish!" Yamcha looked up in achievement, admiring how everything was going his way. He was happy again. But not the old, sad happy. This was a much more childish moment, and the smile on his face was nice and young, forged from simple gratification. It fit perfectly. And for a moment in time, Bulma's crush on him exponentially grew. She started to blush.

"Ok mister happy face, now get out of here and do your business! I'll get the others and be out there to greet you with a couple of dragon balls."

She went past the heavy doors to go get Oolong, who was already coming towards the main hall wondering where Yamcha ran off to. Pu'ar was also coming down another hallway, wanting to know what happened. Bulma told them both the good news, and then went upstairs to wake Goku up.

However, our story gets redirected to the animals on the stairs. While walking to the front door, the usual rivalry in the air just wasn't there. Oolong was in thought, and Pu'ar was doing about the same. Oolong opened his mouth, and was about to say something, when Pu'ar cut in.

"Hey, I don't know what you're going to do, but I'm going to go with Bulma and learn more about transforming. Yamcha is going away, and we can't stay together. But if you aren't doing anything, would you like to come with us?"

Oolong was shocked. Yamcha told him to do the same thing! What was he planning? Oolong knew he had to learn, but now it felt like Yamcha was manipulating him… But was that a bad thing? Yamcha knows the future, he knows what to do. He has awe inspiring powers, things told of from legends. AND he beat the 3rd strongest person on earth. Actually, the 2nd strongest, because Gohan is dead. Nono, the Ox King is the 3rd strongest. Yamcha is definitely stronger than him, he just proved that in combat. But is he stronger then Roshi, the one who can destroy mountains? Maybe. On the other hand, one thing is for sure. He is smarter than the old pervert. He knows what's going to happen, how it will happen, and what to do. He already saved them once from a machine, and probably more than that. Who knows what he saved them from when they weren't looking?

"Ok, I'll go. But… um… You think you can teach me how to stay transformed? I want to learn, if you would teach me… I would be grateful! I don't want to live alone!"

Pu'ar took this the wrong way. He thought the pig wanted to live with someone like him and Yamcha have done for the past couple years. It never crossed his little cat mind that Oolong wanted a girl, so he took the request as an innocent call for a friend. And in Pu'ar's mind, this is where they started to be friends.

Back outside, Yamcha opened it. And to Bulma's surprise, there was no explosion. However, there was an explosive device rigged to the walls of the box, that if opened any other way, it would explode. Well, that was great luck.

A short while later, all the dragon balls where collected, and Yamcha got ready to speak.

"ASISE, GREAT DRAGON! COME OUT, SHENRON!"

Editors wanted… Well, more like motivation wanted. Both would be nice.
Anything you guys can do, any art you can draw, and review to motivate me, any help with making the story will allow me to spend more time working on this.
(If you are going to draw something, can you draw Yamcha in Son Gohan's outfit? Pretty please? I really want to see that, and you'll learn why it's important later :3)

~-.Q AND A.-~

Q – "Please continue soon enough"

"Hope you update soon"

"Good story I hope you continue this because there are not enough Yamcha story's here.
Sorry not a native English speaker"

A – DAWWWW!
Thanks guys, I love all the support you give me
Btw, your English is pretty perfect.

Q - I don't think is necessary, I think with Yamcha knowing the future they can get it right the first time.
A – Well, the beauty of the butterfly effect is that.
The future is based on what happens in the present. He already changed the past quite a bit. Now, for the first couple of events that happened ran about the same as they did in the manga, only slight differences. But over time, the difference will greatly increase. For instance, in here, the main party doesn't get captured, and the minions of Pilaf are probably scarred for life. But instead of being scarred from Goku, it's now Yamcha that scares them.
