I'm back!...ish. Its finals week, and I'm going to be studying a bit. A lot. Ok, fine, I'll just be sleeping a lot, but still, I'll be busy.

Chapter 11: The Mind of the Bandit ~-..-~ Dragon Ball Saga

The sky, already dark from being so late already, turned a slightly deeper black. All the stars got dimmer and dimmer until they winked out of existence. No one but Yamcha even noticed this fact, they were all busy staring at the dragon balls that were lighting up. All of them but Goku, that is. The little guy was still tired from being woken up, and he was in a half-awaken half-asleep stupor, where he moved, but probably wasn't even aware that he was doing it.

Well, he does have such poor energy control, I'm surprised he was able to keep up with me while wasting all that energy. My Kamehameha waves had about half the power of his, and I think I still did more damage with mine. Yamcha thought, as the dragon balls started floating in the air.

They pulsed light, sound, and energy not once or twice, but 7 times. Then the dragon started to appear. It took a whole year for the dragon balls to collect energy from their host, but when they did, they did amazing things. Teleporting a humongous dragon here from a different dimension is pretty powerful magic and power. Standing so close to this omnipresent being made him take up your whole vision. Ancient civilizations really weren't kidding when they said the dragon continued on forever and ever.

The 3 of the group who were awake enough to realize what was happening took a step back in either awe, fright, or sheer intimidation. Goku started waking up. He looked around to see where everyone was, and then was curious about why they were acting so strange. He then decided to follow where they were looking, and when he finally realized what was going on, he jumped up a bit, and shouted "WOW, THAT'S SO COOL!"

The dragon opened its mouth. "COME, TELL ME YOUR WISH. I WILL GRANT… YOU, WHY ARE YOU HERE? THIS IS THE WRONG UNIVERSE FOR YOU."

He was looking directly at Yamcha at this point. Well, I guess I can add the dragons to the list of higher beings who don't appreciate universe hopping. "GREAT DRAGON! I am so very sorry that I am here. I have no idea why I am here. I feel like I have no reason to be in this universe! I was hoping that you could tell me more about my situation!" Wait, did he say wrong Universe? Well, at least now I know I'm not a time traveler.

The Dragon stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. Bulma was starting to come out of shock over the size of the beast. Goku was calming down, but still excited over the whole huge dragon thing. "I SEE. IS THIS YOUR WISH?"

Ok Yamcha, remember to word this correctly. "Dragon! I wish for us to have time to discuss how and why I am here!"

"YOUR WISH WILL BE GRANTED! HOWEVER, DUE TO THE LIMMITED POWER OF THIS WORLD'S GUARDIAN, I CAN NOT REMAIN IN THIS REALM FOR LONG. I CAN, HOWEVER, TAKE YOU INTO ANOTHER REALM FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, AND THEN SEND YOU BACK WHEN WE ARE DONE."

Yamcha had no problem with this. So he would agree, but first he had to tell everyone that he would be gone for at least a couple of hours. "Hey, guys?" Yamcha said, turning around "I'm going to be gone for a little while. I suggest you guys go inside and get some sleep, we are going to be traveling a lot tomorrow."

Before Bulma got to ask why, Yamcha continued. "Come on, don't even ask why. Your one of the world's smartest people!" She blushed a bit at this comment "The dragon ball hunt is over. School starts next week, summer vacation is almost over for you. And as much as I would like to come and be with you, that already happened. I don't want to go back and do high school again, while being older than most of the teachers. Hell, I'm even older than . I'll check up on you all later, but after tonight, Goku and I have to go to master Roshi's to get trained. Terrible things are coming. But don't worry, we should be able to handle it all with just a bit of training. And when we finally have some down time, I'll accept your invitation to come back with you."

Bulma had a mix of confusion and shock on her face, but after a second, she had a look of understanding. "Ok, all right. You go talk to your dragon and go get stronger. I'll be waiting for you! Come on guys, let's go back inside."

"Ok dragon, I'm ready now, take me whenever you're ready."

The dragon never responded, he just nodded his head and motioned for the ex-bandit to climb on. Yamcha was a little hesitant at first, but eventually climbed onto the dragon's back. As his rear hit the back of the dragon, the gigantic mystical beast started moving. And so did Bulma. "WAIT! HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS GOING TO INVITE YOU BACK WITH ME?"

Yamcha smiled. "Because you already did (in my universe). You were so happy when I said I could go." Yamcha was about to continue talking, but the dragon was moving too fast at this point. Wait, why are we heading straight towards the ground? Then he noticed the dragon balls. Then the head of the dragon disappeared. Then he did. And everything was black again.

Bulma watched all of this happening. Going into another dimension, on the back of a mystical dragon. How much more amazing can he get?

The dragons balls dispersed.

After this thought, her next was: Well, I guess I have to put the kids to bed. Goodnight Yamcha.

There was nothing.

Not even the faint background light that is present when death is upon you.

Wait, no. There was something under him. The scales, the warmth, the flow, the dragon that was still there.

He tried to tell its power level, but he couldn't. The darkness was all around them, sucking his conscience thought, heat and power. It was all consuming. It was so cold.

Then he was able to see the dragon's head. A bright light appeared from it. The light quickly shot up the rest of its body. It gave off a nice heat and a little breeze. It was pleasant.

"YOUR WISH WAS TO LEARN ABOUT HOW AND WHY YOU ARE HERE. IT WOULD TAKE TO MUCH TIME TO TELL YOU, SO WITH MY SPARE POWER I WILL BRING FORTH ANOTHER DRAGON WHO WILL HELP ME EXPLAIN."

Nothing happened. Yamcha was content for the moment, but then started to look around. He still didn't see anyone, it was all black and void of everything. He waiting an extra 2 seconds, scratched his head, and then opened his mouth. "Where is he?"

"NOT A HE! A SHE!"

The voice came from the right, startling Yamcha. A female dragon? I've never see one of those before. I never even contemplated their existence.

"Oh yes, we exist all right. How do you think that big lump of dragon over their made me? Out of clay? Ha-ha, no, that's just how you silly little mortals tie us down to your plain of existence. Nono, I have a mom and everything. A younger brother too."

"Wait, so he is your dad?"

"YES. SHE IS MY DAUGHTER. NOW PLEASE, IF YOU WOULD JUST TELL HIM WHAT HE WANTS TO KNOW, WE CAN GO BACK HOME."

"Ok, fine daddy." She started speaking to Yamcha "Now listen, you are in a universe between ours and the one that you live in currently. Your old one is somewhere down the line of multiverses. I don't even know if you still exist there or not. But for some reason, your soul is here. I can tell you that Kami probably won't know either."

Yamcha looked at the direction the sound was coming from. He nodded, understandingly. "Okay" he said "I'm still wondering, though. What does a girl dragon look like?"

"You can't see me? OH, sorry, ok, there we go"

She started shining light just like her dad did. Maybe even brighter than her dad. But that also might be because instead of looking like her dad, she was much more compact. Once Yamcha could look at her, she looked almost human. With wings, though. And she was green and scaly. And with a larger than normal sized rack. She wore cloths that greatly resemble the Kaioshin's own wardrobe, but without the under suit. She wore a shoulder-less dark red dress like top that extended down to right above her knees, trailing down even further in the back. It was trimmed with a gold color that was brightly colored at some parts, and darkly colored at other parts. Her boots, also the dark red, came almost half way up to her knees. Between the boots and shirt, her light green skin shone though. The contrast was as beautiful as she appeared to be. Well, it looks like Christmas came early for me this year!

"I HEARD THAT!" She bellowed at him, then in a calmer voice "I would rip you to shreds if I didn't think that was cute." She flexed her arms in a threatening way, and the scales moved a bit to compensate for the muscles that just became visible, covering all of her skin (if there even is skin under scales) with a nice even light green coating. "I wouldn't even have any trouble, I'm a warrior class dragon. My power will soon far exceed that of the Kais and the Kaioshins. Where do you think they got this look from?"

Yamcha kind of stuttered back a bit, feeling a great power level rise off of her. Damn, she is strong. But even though she looks better trained, I don't think she could beat Frieza…

"Well of course not! I'm still pretty young for a dragon. Only a couple of Centuries… I just metamorphosed into the warrior form about 16 'years' ago, which would make me only slightly older then you are now."

And she got that great figure already!… Wait, metamorphosed? Eww… like Cell… but anyways, I need to get back to the knowledge part. And she can hear my thoughts, I really have got to stop thinking. "So if you don't know why I'm here, can you at least tell me how I got here?"

"I'm going to ignore that previous thought, but yes, I can. Your soul from the other universe is in that body. I'm not sure whether it's a copy or the original… Wait, something else is too."

"What else?"

"I don't know, it's weird though. It's from this universe…"

"I'D HATE TO INTERRUPT, BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE THIS."

Yamcha looked back at the long father dragon, and he saw a ball of glowing light. Looking a bit more intently, he saw the house Bulma bought back in bunny town. The roof started to crack a bit, then the roof broke. Out from the hole emerged a giant monkey.

"GOKU! I FORGOT THEIR WAS A FULL MOON OUT TONIGHT! SHENRON, I NEED TO GO, CAN YOU TAKE ME BACK?"

"YES, BUT I CAN NOT BRING YOU BACK TO TALK TO ME ONCE YOU ARE THEIR."

"That's fine! I need to go back now! SHENRON, SEND ME BACK!" Yamcha pleaded

"YOUR WISH IS MY COMAND. FAREWELL."

Then Yamcha disappeared.

"… I like him. He isn't scared to talk to us, he sees us as equals. Not even the Kaioshins do that, for as supreme as they think they are, they still think themselves below us. He also sacrificed all the knowledge I could give him to save another couple of mortals. I'm interested. I'm going to watch this one for the next couple of years."

"SIGH. I KNEW SOMETHING LIKE THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT YOUR BROTHER, BUT HE WOULD HAVE SLAUGHTERED THE HUMAN WITH ANY SIGN OF DISRESPECT"

Yes! He didn't say no! She thought, as she floated towards her father. It's a shame I never gave him my name, or gotten his. "Come on daddy, let's go home"

"I HEARD THAT." He said, before he opened the portal and went back home with his daughter. "AND IT'S YAMCHA."

Yamcha? She thought, right before she returned home. I like it.

Yamcha saw a flash of light. Then he saw the dirt in front of him. Then he was in the dirt.

Where is he? He thought. It took him less one second to find the power level that was above his own. And it was right in front of him.

He… He is way too strong for me! And even though he has absolutely no control over his power, the sheer amount of it will crush this untrained body. But first thing first, I have people to protect. How am I going to do that?

The ex-bandit looked around for a sword, or something to cut his tail off with. Nothing. Any cliff to push him off of? The land is flat. Blow up the moon? Not enough power, full power Roshi was barely able too. So I guess when all else fails, it's time to stall until something good happens. It'll be hours before the moon goes away, can't count on that. So I guess it's time to save my friends!

He got up on his feet and saw the monster. Taller than a 7 story building, the house he started in looked like a shoe on his foot. He doesn't see me yet, I guess that gives me a surprise attack.

So he jumps at the monkey, and plants a foot right in his stomach. That barley moved him! He started charging his attack."KamehameHA!" The monkey was pushed back even further, and started stumbling backwards. Good, now he is away from the house. But it looks like it didn't hurt him at all.

Yamcha, still not having a high enough power to fly freely, fell 25 feet and landed on the crumbled floor of the house, feet first. Is everyone ok? He thought, trying to sense the power levels. 1, 2, 3, and he felt better. I got here in time, good.

He was about to jump right out of the house when something caught his eye. Something red and gleaming. Something that could do the trick.

OUCH! Thought the monster, as his eyes grew red.
THAT HURT! He though again, acknowledging his dread.
WHAT IS IT? He started to wonder, now standing up straight.
DOESN'T MATTER! Was his last thought, for now he's full of hate.

Yamcha was underneath the giant monkey now, staff in hand. "Nyoi-bo, GROW!"

And so it did.

How tall?

Hundreds of feet, with the monkey on top, and the bandit right underneath him.

This once again hurt the monkey, but it didn't last long. He tried to hit and break the stick. It didn't break, but the vibrations it caused shook him off of it.

Ok, he is up here with me now, so now what? I'm experienced with free fall fighting, but he still is way to strong… Maybe I have to level the playing field. I would have done it down there, but I didn't want to hurt anyone by accident.

With that, he pushed with his feet off of the pole, but kept on holding it. It came out of the ground and grew small, and Yamcha put it back into his back.

"WOLF FANG FIST!"

The feel is still so unreal. The powering up, holding much more then possible, being filled beyond the limit, the blood lust and the desire to kill, and then losing control of it all, turning to black, and not being able to control one's self.
It was a beautiful thing.
It was terrible thing.

And then the battle started.

Darkness, again. I swear, I've seen every single type of darkness that exists, and I have been here for under a week.

"Well, maybe that's true, but that would mean that I have also seen every type of darkness."

Yamcha turned around, and saw himself. But this self wasn't turning around like he was, it is like he was waiting there the whole time. Arms crossed, comfortable position, everything that would show that he has been here for quite a while. The biggest difference, though, was their eyes. One was colder, more calculating, wiser, and held much more sorrow. The other was lively, able to absorb a life time of adventure and challenges.

"Are you the me from this universe?" The ex-bandit wondered out loud.

"I don't really know, I know nothing other than the fact that I was eating some food inside the hideout, and then I couldn't control my body anymore. At first I tried getting out, rushing to try to stop myself from what seemed like an evil, but after I saw you basically sacrifice yourself for Pu'ar, I knew you were me. But then that left the question, who am I? I was able to see it all, but I now feel like nothing but a place holder." Yamcha from this universe answered.

"The real question is, how I am able to live in a body that already has a soul in it? I know you were here first, and I respect that, but I still don't know why or how I am here. I would let you take over, but I need to make sure everything is right with the world first. I already did great injustice to the balance of the universe, I'm afraid if I let you go out now, then the world would eventually fall into darkness."

The Yamcha from this universe stood for a couple seconds, before shaking his head. "Man, I have been following you around since the day you took me over, and I still have no idea what you are talking about. Anyways, come with me and sit down, we might be here for a while."

Sit? Thought the old man in the young body. There is nothing here to sit on? Oh, wait… is that the hideout?

"I give you, the hideout, mark 2!" Said the young boy, ecstatic, as the darkness gave way to the hideout. Or at least it looked like the same rock structure. It was a bit bigger, and a bit cleaner then it was in reality. "So, what do you think?" he said, grinning from ear to ear.

"I like it. It brings back old memories…"

"Old memories? We were just there a couple of days ago! And I've been there for years!"

"I know, but I was barely there. I was only in one room before I left to go meet Goku. I would have liked to stay a bit longer if I could have."

"Well, we are here! Go look around!" Young Yamcha said, as cheery as he has ever been.

The old man in the young body walked it, and was hit with a wave of nostalgia. The kitchen, it looked as good as it ever was. The chairs, the table, the everything. After a second look, it was actually better! The broken chair was fixed, the plates weren't scratched, and the pots were all shiny. Everything looked new, like how they originally were. There was one thing that wasn't originally there though. It was a ball of light, but it wasn't that bright. It was pretty dim, actually. But it hung in air, like a floating Ki blast. "How did all of this stuff get here?" The older one said, looking admirably at everything. But even with the immense joy he felt, you could still see the deep set sadness in his eyes. The bitter sweet that is known quite well in the old, and mythically rare in the young.

"I just thought of it, and it came" Said the young one "Except for that ball. What you see is what happens outside. It used to overlap my vision and it was weird to move around at first, but after I saw what the dragon did to show you the monkey, I tried to do it too. And it worked!... Well, at least I think it did."

"You can see what's happening outside?" The elder of the 2 said out loud, to process it a second time. He then stood up, got on the table, and looked deep into the sphere. He saw the ape with blood in it. It was actually damaged. Blood was coming out of small holes all over it. He seems hurt! I might be able to go cut off his tail now!

"Hey, I'm going back. I'm going to stop Goku and then make sure everyone is alight." Yamcha said.

"WAIT!" said the one that truthfully belonged to this universe. "Can… Can you tell Pu'ar I say hi? I know it might be bad to learn that I'm still here, but it would mean a lot to me."

Yamcha smiles, and said "Sure, I definitely will. Wait, one question before I get out" I seem to be doing well enough out there. "If I am here, and you are here, then who is controlling our body?"

"I don't know, but I know he is always there." The young one said, looking away and backing away from the thought, like some scared prey. "It's the craziest thing, I can almost FEEL him, the same way you 'feel' where other people are. Except he never is in just one place, he is everywhere. It is almost enough to drive someone mad. But I think I can resist for now. Meeting you has really calmed my nerves, and as long as I can still hear your thoughts, I'll be fine." He started to warm up again, he even had on a half-smile.

"Thanks, I'll check up with Kami on that. Ok, well, now it is time for me to go!" He turned around, and tried to get out.

He first just tried to pry himself away from this mentally. When that didn't work, he jumped, and just hit his head on the ceiling. He rubbed his head a couple times before standing up.

"Umm… I don't think I'm going anywhere soon…" he said "Maybe I should get out of the house before I break it"

"Ya, that's probably a good idea" The younger Yamcha said, out of breath. The sight of him hitting his own head on the ceiling was funnier then he thought it would be, and he was laughing ever since that happened.

Oy-vey, have I always been that amused by everything? "Well, I will see you another time. Take good care of this place, will you?"

"Ay-yay captain!" he said, as he straightened his feet and put a hand straight to his head.

Ye old Yamcha left the house, wanting to try one more thing. Let's see if I can overpower it, it seems to be weakened from the fight.

Yamcha stood. Power started to come off of him in ripples. He took that power, and forced it back around him. Again and again, until he looked like a big ball of swirling energy. Then there was a crack next to him, right in the corner of his vision. It sealed up quickly, but now he knew what to do. Ok, so I just have to break out of this dimension… That should be easy enough.

He gathered the swirling energy around his hands, condensing it into 2 balls of swirling energy, and forcing them together to literally rip open a hole in space. He then stepped through, and went back into the world outside.

The young one, still inside, was watching through the window, and heard the other ones thoughts. "Well, now I know the way out… I think I should first learn how to use that energy stuff, though."

Then the evil stuff came back, creeping into the young one's mind. The room turned a shade of grey darker.

~ - . LAD . - ~

I was very happy that I had to do minimal editing on this chapter… but I'm not sure if I missed anything.
OH! Also, with Yamcha in Son-Gohan's outfit, it would be great if someone could also draw the young dragon!

~-.Q AND A.-~

Q – Nice to see the story continue, do you plan to have Tights from Jaco Patrolman show up, do you consider her canon.
A – Well, there is a good chance I will bring her up. The thing is, I haven't read any further then the 2nd chapter of Jaco, so I have no idea whether or not I will use anyone (although I want to), and I don't know who Tights is. EDIT, I'ts months later, and I still haven't read it. I should.

Q – I'm not entirely familiar with Dragon ball, but I'm loving this! Definitely captivating, great job. :)
A – Thank you! I really try my best with this (well, almost my best. I could edit it, but I feel that would take too long, and then I would want to add more things in, which means I would have to edit that, find out I contradicted myself, fix that, edit it, find that the story doesn't flow… This is why I need an editor) so it's always good to hear some praise!

~ - . POWER LEVELS . - ~

Yamcha (Other universe, aka old one, aka main hero, aka the one who stole the body) – 71

Yamcha (This universe, aka young one, aka the one who lost his body) – somewhere around 40

Goku – 46

Goku Great Ape – 185-230-ish

OK, FOR GREAT APE, the power boost is NOT 10 times, its somewhere between 4 and 5 times. His RAW STREGHTH boost, that is closer to being 10 times. He can't really use any 'power' anyways, besides a Kamehameha. And in ape form, where he basically has no mind, I don't think he could use it.

I know people won't like this, but I really don't like the whole 'static boosting' thing you guys want to do with the transformations.

SSj isn't 50 times, it has a multiplier depending on how well you can use it (so just turning SSj provides x amount, while going FPSSj provides xx amount), but after the multiplier, it also gives you a boost on the side.

So if your power level is x, the multiplier is m, and the addition is b, and the final power is y, the formula would be something like (y=mx+b) aka, basic math.

For those who don't understand, it's ok, and I'm sorry, the hard core fans understand what I am talking about.

EDIT. Because the story is continually evolving, I might want to recon this. I plan on doing something else with power levels to make them make more sense….
