Harry took a deep breath.
He could do this.
Harry got his invisibility cloak – perhaps the grim wouldn't see him that way – and wrapped it round him. His cloak was thin; that mixed with his oversized tee-shirt (Dudley's old one, it was stained and went down past his knees, looking rather like a short dress) being the only thing he was wearing and the fact that weather in the Scottish Highlands in January wasn't exactly warm made him think that if he didn't die from seeing the grim, he most certainly would from hypothermia; either way, he didn't want to die at age thirteen.
Harry proceeded to slip on a pair of battered old trainer (also formerly belonging to his whale of a cousin) and took out the Marauders Map.
'Help me, I need to sneak into the forbidden forest.' Harry whispered
He didn't know what he expected to happen, and admittedly he was slightly surprised when something did happen.
Mr Prongs wonders what his fawn needs to get into the forbidden forest for, and would like to remind him that Lily won't be impressed.
Now Harry was exceptionally confused.
'Who are you?' Harry whispered
Mr Prongs suggests you go ask Moony – or, as Mr Prongs believes you know him as – Professor Lupin?
Wait…
'Mr Prongs wonders what his fawn needs…'
His fawn…
Professor Lupin…
Professor Lupin said he was friends – best friends – with Harry's dad.
The Marauders were supposed to be quite mischievous.
According to the conversation Harry had overheard, Professor McGonagall had said that Harry's dad, Sirius Black, Peter Petigrew and Professor Lupin were pranksters, fitting the type of personality associated with the Marauders.
And… His fawn… His son?
Harry didn't understand the association with deer but he overlooked that.
Harry felt excitement well up in his stomach.
'Dad..?' Harry asked
Go talk to Remus.
Then the map went blank.
Authors Note:
This is a rewrite of an old story I wrote a while ago, so I need to edit and rewrite it to improve the story (the previous one was rubbish) nor will this story be my main priority, so updates will be less frequent.
Bye!
