My names April, I'm an 'Average' Thirteen year old, I moved to Kent recently from Belin. I've always been home schooled but this year its different. My mother sending me to my first public school tomorrow, I'm exited but scared at the same time.. I'm the only child so I haven't really had a great social life in the real world.. But my mother said always try.
I stretch by arms as my ear bleeding alarm goes off, I immediately grab my phone and check for any messages, None. Mum brings me a folded set of uniform and neatly lays them out beside me, leaving with a heart warming smile. 'Ready?' she says, popping her head through the door after ten minutes. 'Uh... yep,' I grab my bag, running out the door, 'April! Have you forgot something?' I run and hug mum before I leave 'Love ya mum, Bye!' As I run out the door my mum shouts 'And remember, stay away from boys!' I roll my eyes and walk to my new school..
It seems big, I climb the mountain of stairs. I rest my bag on the fountain wall, I text mum.. she was probably already wondering if I got there safe. A boy from behind me pushes and I trip over my bag 'HAY,' I say, falling face first into a boy passing me, 'AH, SORRY...' I say standing straight and putting my phone away. 'Gah! Are you ok?' He says, picking up my bag and handing it to me, 'Y..Yes. Heh...' I've only been here for FIVE MINUTES and i'm already falling for boys? (haha. puns,) 'Haha, Well be more careful next time, Ok?' We smile at each other than he carries on his way.
Half the day has passes, My favourite lesson is next, Lunch! I leave my classroom and enter the cafeteria, I sit on and empty bench and get my mums home made lunch out, A Brunette girl stood in front of me, 'Can I sit here?' She smiled as I nodded and placed her tray down, 'Im Mai,' she said, hiding behind her lunch 'I..Im April, heh.. how odds that?' we both laugh even though its kind of awkward. we finish our lunch, after nearly thirty minutes of silence and a small food fight between two boys, the school bell rings. 'Bye..' we say in union. I head off to my last lesson.
Finally, the end of the day. I guess it was kind of fun, I made a few friends but Im sill pretty shy. I text my mum saying im coming, Marissa follows me as we leave the school grounds, 'Bye April!' she shouts, running off to her dad. Mum calls me over, 'So? how was it April? Fun? WAIT. DID YOU TALK TO ANY BOYS?!' She shouts, I roll my eyes and turn the radio on, 'Noo...' I say, obviously lying. we continue driving home. first day of school complete.
