Chapitre 24: Cosmic Trigger
Monday
After class Kyoki was given the bucket to put the volleyballs into. The curtain was raised and the teacher told that she had to put the equipment on the other side away too.
Syaoran ran over to her, placing quite a few ball that he picked up along the way in there.
"I'll help you."
"Oh, thank you, Syaoran-kun, but you don't have to if you don't want to."
"I do." He smiled at her.
"Syaoran-kun, we have to go back to class now." His teacher called out across the room.
Syaoran looked at Kyoki sadly.
"It's all right. Go ahead. Thanks though." Kyoki told him.
Syaoran reluctantly ran into the bathroom to change his clothing.
After putting the balls away and putting the nets away, she went into the bathroom and started toward her locker but stopped when Kaho approached her with two of her friends. They were the same girls who talked to her earlier.
"Hey, Kyoki. I just came by to introduce you to my friends. This is Ami Ratou." Kaho said, pointing to the short blond hair girl. "And this is Lori Tsuduki." She indicated to the darker haired woman.
"Oh... nice to meet you." Kyoki smiled and the two girls nodded.
"Let's go." Kaho said to her friends and the three of them left.
Minutes later, Kyoki was changed back into her normal uniform. As she ran out of the school building she saw Yume standing by herself, so she ran over to her cousin.
"Yu-Yu-chan~! Wanna hang out or something?" Kyoki asked as she approached Yume.
"I'm sorry, Kyo-chan. But I'm waiting for Fai. We already made plans."
"Ah, I see. That's all right. I just remembered I have some homework to do." Kyoki lied. "Well, then later." She then ran off before her cousin could say anything else.
"Where is everyone?" Kyoki said as she sat down at the now usual eating table where only Kurogane was sitting at the moment. "It seems since like I'm always the last one... am I early?"
"The kid and princess said they are eating in their room to do homework. The stupid magician and your cousin are eating somewhere in town."
There were minutes of silence as the two of them ate.
Kyoki broke the silence when she was finished eating by saying, "So, uh, how was your day?"
"Irritating."
"Oh, I see. Would it be all right if we go back to your room after dinner? There is something I need to ask you, that can't be asked here."
And that is how they found themselves in his room minutes later.
"What is it?" He asked as he sat down on the desk chair.
Kyoki began to pace back and forth nervously. "I was thinking... since you said we should wait until the next world, and seeing as we are in the next world now... should we tell them the truth about our fake dating?"
He was silent as he thought it through. "Yea, before things get complicated. Not that they not already."
Kyoki stopped walking and nodded. "Yea. Why don't I tell Yume and you can talk to Fai?"
He nodded.
"All righty then. I shall get right on that. See you later." Kyoki rushed out of his room, closing the door behind her. She then ran across the building and down a floor to Yume and Sakura's room. She knocked on the door. Sakura opened the door and welcomed her in.
"Hi, Kyoki-san." Syaoran smiled at her. He was sitting at one of the tables.
"Hi."
"Hiya, Kyo-chan! Mokona is helping Sakura-chan and Syaoran-kun with their homework." Mokona said as it jumped onto her shoulder.
"Oh, what a good little smart Mokona." She rubbed its belly and placed it back on the desk. "Is Yume-chan here?"
"No, she's not. She said she would be out late tonight." Sakura told her. "Is there something wrong? Can I help?"
"Oh, no, it's nothing. I just wanted to talk to her about something. Everything is all right. Well, I'll be on my way so you two can get your homework done. Good night." Kyoki smiled at them.
"Good night." The three of them said as she left the room. She walked a few feet then leaned up against the wall. 'I'm... kinda relieved that she isn't here so I don't have to tell her about that... I know this isn't real, our dating, but I like the thought of everyone thinking it's real.' She looked at her hand. 'I like being the one able to hold his hand. But it's not going to last forever, so get over it.' She shook her head; stood straight and headed back to her own room.
When she first opened her door she and looked into the room she thought she was seeing things. There were young women everywhere. It was a small room and a lot of people, which didn't mix. Some of the people were sitting on her bed, which annoyed Kyoki greatly seeing as she was paranoid about other people touching or sitting in the area she slept in, but she remained calm, thinking of how she would clean the sheets before using them again.
"Oh, hey, Kyoro, I hope you don't mind I invited some of my friends over."
"It's fine. I'll stay out of your way. I just came to lay down for a bit." She walked over to her bed, wanting to take the sheets off, but couldn't since there were people on it, who wouldn't get off. Even after her asking them.
Kaho began to talk to her friends about their class, everyone ignoring Kyoki.
"Or not. I'll just go hang out in the park for a bit." She walked to the end of the bed and grabbed one of her backpack to help her preoccupy her time and left the room.
To the park she went and on a bench she sat. She pulled out her Nintendo DS and started to play and was still playing an hour and a half later when Shinji came over and sat down on the end of the bench furthest from her.
"Do you know where Yume-sama is?" He asked her.
"No offense, but who are you and why do you want to know where my cousin is?"
"Wow! You're her cousin? I was thinking you were just her friend. This is even better!" Shinji exclaimed. "I'm Shinji Kamuro. What is Yume's favorite color? Food? Animal? Flower?"
She turned off her game, got up and started to leave.
Shinji followed her, still asking her questions as she went back to her dorm room, not saying a word to him. She went into her room and closed the door on him. She turned around to find that the girls were still there. Without saying anything, she turned back around and left where Shinji was still waiting for her. She started to walk, him walking beside her.
"You didn't get a very good roommate. They won't be leaving that room for quite some time. Kaho tends to invite friends over and they tend to stay all night. I don't see why seeing as Kaho is like, the most boring person in the world." He told her.
"Thank your for telling me things that I really didn't need to know and would have figured out on my own." Before she knew it, they were back at the park.
"Since I told you that valuable information, you should tell me about Yume-sama."
"That is unfair. I didn't want that information about Kaho."
"Please tell me about her. I'll get down on my knees and beg if I have to." Shinji told her.
"Red, black, silver, I think. Orange Chicken. Wolf. I don't know about flowers. There, even."
"Heh?"
"Those are the questions you asked about Yume earlier. I answered them, now we are even."
"Thank you. Can you tell me more now?"
"You're very persistent."
He simply nodded.
She sighed, unsure how to get rid of him.
"Hey, my roommate isn't coming to school until next week, and seeing as your roommate is probably letting her friends sleep on your bed at this very moment, you don't have any where to go, so why don't you stay in my dorm? I won't make any moves on you. My heart is only for Yume-chan-sama."
Kyoki sighed again, thinking. "Fine."
"Come on then." Shinji then began to lead the way. As they walked toward his room, they passed Kurogane's room, which she stared at as they walked by it. Moments later they were in his room.
"Wow... it's so clean." Kyoki said as she first saw his room.
"School only just started. I haven't had time to trash it yet." He laughed as he sat on his bed. "I'm going to sleep now. You can use the shower if you want, I usually take mine in the morning."
"Thanks. I think I am going to go to sleep now too. I'm exhausted." She went over to the other bed, dropping her bag on the floor and pulled back the covers, then pulled them back over herself as she laid down.
Shinji did the same. "Do you have any classes tomorrow? You can use my alarm clock if you need to wake up before ten-fifteen. If you have classes after that, I can set it to that before I leave. "
"I have a Advance Computer class tomorrow at eleven, so I'll just get up at the same time to simplify everything." Kyoki said, and then yawned.
"I have that class too."
"Really?"
"Yea."
"That's funny."
"And ironic."
The two of them looked at each other and laughed.
While the two of them laughed, they both fell asleep.
*O * O*
