Authors note: Behold, here is my Christmas gift to you: a new chapter. I know it's been very slow lately but I've kind of lost my energy for OUAT. The show has been true shit and I don't think I'll stick around for 5b. To be honest I have only been partly sticking around for 5a. But enough of my complaining. I'm writing this story for some enormously trusting person who kindly asked me to write this prompt, and I won't let that person and all the other readers down, therefor I'll gladly finish this story, which is still nowhere near finished. I hope you'll stick around with me, and until next year you lovely people!
Merry Christmas and a happy 2016

Some scared citizen had called the fucking cops. And then Emma realized she was the fucking cops. But she wasn't on duty right now, which meant someone had called her dad. That was somehow worse than the cops.
What the fuck was going on right now?
Emma hadn't realized she had been staring at the blood-smeared wall until she felt a warm hand on her sweaty shoulder and heard a soft familiar voice near her ear. "Emma?" Her father, it was her father. The knight in shining armor coming to safe the day. Emma could practically taste the irony, realising that her dad actually was a knight in shining armor.
David couldn't look at the wall, it was too horrendous, especially combined with the fact that Emma, that his little girl was the one responsible for this horrible image. "Emma honey?" He repeated again, swallowing thickly. He hoped this would work to get her out of her own head, he had no idea what else to do. "Emma, why don't we go sit down somewhere and then you can explain what happened here." He remembered the scared voice on the phone ten minutes earlier. ( "Yes, oh god please come fast- yes she blew them up, right where they were standing-just boom and they were splattered across the walls. Please to god, hurry- there was a white light- oh my god I can't believe this is happening. My god, there's blood everywhere, I think I have brain on my shirt. HURRY."). How in the hell did she do this? Did she do this?
"Dad?" She could hear her own voice wavering over the faint peep that was ringing in her ears. "Dad I don't know what I did." Realisation started to drop down on her like heavy bricks and she tried with all her might to push it off. Her mind needed to stay blank for a little while longer.
"Shhh, it's alright, it's going to be fine." He said it even though he didn't believe it. The town would be out for blood. Most were still angry about being stuck here in Maine. Some were even convinced that- besides it being Regina's fault- Emma had somehow fucked up while breaking the curse and that that was the reason why they still had running water. (David himself wasn't too upset about that fact, to be honest).
"Dad I killed them." Emma whispered, eyes staring into nothing. "You have to arrest me." She said in a sudden realization. But she could see her father faltering. He was about to object, Emma could feel it. "No, I'm being real here. I killed them, you need to take me in otherwise we will get a rampage on our hands. We can't have people here thinking the Charming's can do whatever the hell they want. Because once that starts happening, people will think the can take matters into their own hands. And I know for a fact that killing was a sport back where you come from." Her voice sounded firm and Emma was glad about it. Now she needed to get out off this gym.
David sighed in defeat. "Fine, but I won't put you in handcuffs."
...
Henry had called her, saying Snow was in hysterics and he didn't know how to calm her down. Regina had regretted asking what had happened. But once she heard what the Savior had done, and more importantly why, she got into her car and drove straight to the station.
Her heels were clicking on the cheap linoleum and Regina muttered a soft curse. In all her haste she had forgotten to put on a coat and so now the gentle curve of her belly was showing through her plain black sweater. She was almost through the hallway when nerves hit her full force. She would come face to face with Emma Swan. Not like passing her in the street, but really face to face. Like the nowhere-left-to-run kind.
"Regina." David uttered her name in a tone of surprise and Regina couldn't blame him. She would be surprised to for Regina had made it more than clear that she never wanted to speak to the blonde ever again.
The brunette ignored him however and instead stopped in front of the seat the Savior was occupying.
"Regina?" Emma's eyes were large and slightly scared looking as she stared up at the brunette. "What are you doing here, did my mother call you?" What Emma really wanted to ask was 'are you here to help me?' But she was unable to get those particular words out of her mouth.
She ignored the question. "How did they know?" Her voice sounded rough and hoarse. A bad combination if she wanted to sound demanding, intimidating. Her hands clenched into a fist, a mixture of fear and anger swirling in her dark eyes. She was lethal now, and Regina knew it. She was aware of the pure rage that was circling around her like a thick smoke. "Did you tell them?" She bared her pearly whites, snarling at the blonde. "Did you go around town and gloat?!"
"Seriously?!" Emma spit back, angered by the words. "You think I would stoop that low. You know I immensely regret what I did to you, Regina. So don't you go around and fucking accuse me of this shit. I told no one, and certainly not someone who would go blabbing it around town." Emma clenched her fists around the armrests of her chair. She could feel that prickling sensation again, could feel it burning under her skin, surging through her belly. This was not good, Emma could tell it wasn't.
"Well, then who did?!" Regina was almost screaming in her face now. She took a shaking step back, jaw clattering shut. "If you're telling the truth and haven't uttered a word then who told those idiots what happened? How could they possibly know that I'm-" her shook violently and visibly at the thought alone. "That I'm carrying your child."
"I haven't a fucking clue." Emma breathed in deeply, trying to regain some of her composure. "You have to believe me, I haven't told a soul, Regina. Please, you know that I'm so sorry. I would never gloat about what I've done to you, it's not something I'm proud of."
Regina couldn't believe she was going to say it, but the quiet, almost nonexistent I know was out before she could think about it. Because she knew it was the truth. She closed her eyes for a second. There was a leak somewhere, someone had talked and she had no idea who it was. She suddenly felt unsafe, exposed, and it wasn't due to Emma's presence. It was due to the fact that it was quite possible that someone she trusted had betrayed her.
"Regina!" It was Emma's voice that snapped her out of her zone and she opened her eyes slowly. Widening them when she saw the cause of Emma's sudden panic.
There was a pure white light emitting from Emma's palms. The armrests Emma had been clenching just then were now completely burned through. The part Emma had touched was gone and the tips of the iron were glowing a bright red. "Shit Regina, what is happening?!"
Magic. Was the first thing to pop into Regina's head. True love, of course. "Emma calm down." Regina said slowly, taking a step back. Emma was dangerous right now seeing had she had just caused two men to explode. It wasn't just her life right now, she thought with a painful pang. "Take a deep breath." She then turned to the former shepherd who was staring at his daughter with confusion. "Take a step back, Charming, unless you want to end up the same way those men did." She warned. She had no intention of scraping his brains off the walls.
"I can't stop it." Emma squeezed her hands closed into tight fists. Sweat was starting to form on her upper lip and her back, the material of her shirt sticking to her skin. "Damnit, what do I do?" She was panicking and rationally knew that she should stop, but she couldn't. It was as simple as that. Regina was her lifeline right now. And her eyes stared at the woman desperately. "Help-" deep breath "me, Regina."
"Just breathe, miss Swan." Regina took a breath herself. "Just listen to my breathing and try to mimick the speed." She couldn't think of anything else to do off the top of her head. Without thinking she reached out and grabbed the blonde's shoulders. Emma's skin was clammy and Regina furrowed her brows in worry. This wasn't good. With a deep breath she focused on the woman in front of her. It was an ancient from of magic that didn't require a lot of energy. Slowly but surely Emma's breathing started to calm down and Regina released a shaky breathe herself.
"What just happened?" Emma asked softly, green eyes wide. "What did you do, it felt... strange." Nice, it felt nice.
"It's magic." Regina deadpanned. She quickly released the woman's shoulders, realising what the fuck she was doing. This was not supposed to have happened. She came here about ready to murder Emma in cold blood. Well, that all went to hell.
She stood up straight and took a step back, leaning against the desk behind her, suddenly feeling tired. "Now, please explain what the fuck happened in that gym this morning."
Emma swallowed thickly. "I wish I could tell you, but I don't know what happened. One minute I was yelling at those assholes, the next their organs were sliding down the walls. Everything in between is vague."
"I'm guessing your magic got the best of you, miss Swan. But the part I'm more interested in is how those peasants knew about our... situation." Regina crossed her arms in front of her chest. She didn't dare look at the prince, who was still standing motionless in the corner of the room, quietly observing their little conversation. "I sure as hell haven't told a soul and you say that you haven't also, so the question is, who did? surely Snow hasn't opened her big mouth, she knows better by now and Henry most certainly hasn't."
"I haven't got a clue, Regina, I promise."
"We're all aware here that your promises don't mean a lot, miss Swan." And ouch, that must've hurt. Not that Regina cared right now.
Charming was about to step out of his corner, mouth already hanging open to prove Regina wrong, but one glance from Emma shut him up immediately. Regina was almost impressed. Almost. It wasn't that hard to get Charming under your thumb.
"Alright, Regina." Emma sighed. "How about Archie? It isn't the first time he's shared confidential files with the town, even though the first time was your plan."
"No." Regina's reaction was firm and she could see Emma was slightly taken aback by it. "He wouldn't, he's trying to help me." Oh she sounded so naive right now, mother would be furious with her." "What I mean to say it that he wouldn't tell a soul, because he knows what the consequences will be if he did."
"Ah yes, good old fear. The most efficient tool to ever exist." She didn't know where the sarcasm came from. She knew Archie, he was her friend and more importantly, apparently Regina's friend too. He would never betray her trust. Especially not to those douchebags. Was it wrong to curse the dead? Nah, not like it mattered anymore. At least, that was what she kept telling herself to keep from breaking down, knowing she had killed two human beings. God, she shouldbe locked up right now. Her father should lock her up and throw away the key.
Regina narrowed her eyes. "Yes well, it kept people from saying stupid things. I see it doesn't apply on you." She was spitting words towards the blonde right about now. "But all kidding aside, we still don't know who opened their mouth."
Emma sighed, rubbing her forehead in an attempt to rub the oncoming headache away. It was not helping in the least. "It could be anyone, maybe someone at the hospital saw..." She swallowed thickly. "Something..."
Regina ignored the pang of hurt. It was a reasonable assumption, she knew. But still it hurt to know that she'd infested so much fear in her rule as Queen that nobody would help her if she was being... assaulted. Logically she understood, emotionally it hit her like a ton of bricks. She unknowingly moved one hand to the small bump just above the waist of her tailored pants. "Yes." Regina sighed eventually. "That could indeed be a possibility although there is a small mistake in that train of thought, for how would that person know I was now pregnant. Especially someone who has some basic knowledge of biology seeing as we're two women."
"Look I'm just guessing here, Regina. For all I know it's Gold. Isn't he able to see the future of feel some shift in the magical atmosphere bullshit. You being pregnant would most certainly not be a small shift, right?"
Regina shook her head in disbelief. How come she hadn't thought about that, but the stupid little imp wouldn't dare. She had Belle and she was sure he was somehow aware of it. Pulling a stunt like this would surely lead to his lover's demise, he had to know that. She turned to Emma again. "There is no such thing as a magical atmosphere, miss Swan, but I think you may be onto something there." She ignored Emma's self-satisfied look. "That imp is slimy enough to talk, but I wouldn't know how he found out."
Emma stood up resolutely, ignoring the buzz that emitted in her head. It burned and prickled her vision. "Well, I'd say there's only one way to find out, isn't there? How about we go and pay Gold a visit?"
"Wow, wow, wow. Hold up. Emma you can't just storm into Rumple's office like a madwoman!" David interrupted, worry edged into his face. There was no way he was going to let his little girl storm up to the Dark One. Especially after what just happened. Emma was a danger right now, not only to others but also to herself. She didn't have control over her magic and David was aware of how dangerous that was. He'd seen enough victims of wild magic, more than enough. He'd seen them without their limbs, or with scorching burns that continued to spread. "There's no way you'll get anywhere near the Dark One."
Emma was about to retort when Regina spoke up. Her cheeks were red with anger, her arms crossed tightly under her breasts. Emma thought she looked so beautiful, but she said nothing, instead slamming her jaws together as Regina said she for once agreed with Charmings words.
"You need to calm down before you go and incinerate the entire town. Instead I'll pay that fucking imp a visit."
And before Emma could protest, Regina was out the door.
...
The old wooden door flew open, the copper door handle smacking into the brick wall so loud it caused the Dark One to cringe at the sound. He cringed even harder when the oh so lovely Evil Queen stormed in. "Ah, to what do I owe the pleasure, Your Majesty. Do you perhaps need some cleaning products, specifically for white walls?" His grin was smug and Regina wanted to smack it off his face it made her that angry.
"So you're aware, you little imp." She all but growled, her hands slapping down on the wooden countertop, her face mere inches away from her former mentor's.
"Well what can I say? News travels fast in a small town. Especially when it's juicy." He smiled that sleazy smile, openly staring at her slightly protruding belly. "Yes, very juicy indeed." He chuckled at the actual growl that resounded at his remark. "So how does it feel to have a second chance at True Love? And with our Savior at that? My, you must be the belle of the ball. Or town, whatever you want, dearie."
And then something just clicked in her head, she leaned further back, her face suddenly the epitome of clarity. Of course that was it, what else would it be about. But Regina was most certainly not going to allow that now, not after the stunt he just pulled, the embarrassment he'd bestowed upon her. "Your maid..." She breathed out a low chuckle. "I'm not even surprised, this is all because of your maid isn't it."
His gleeful smirk suddenly fell, instead pure hatred splattered his features, darkness swirling in those bland brown eyes. "Her name is Belle." His voice was soft, dangerously so.
"Was Belle, dear." Regina grinned. "Don't you remember when I brought you the sad news of her death and more importantly how it was your fault." She remembered clearly the heavy rustling of her dress as she stormed into his home, she remembered his devestation and her smugness at having been the reason.
He bellowed a laugh at that, suddenly not feeling threatened anymore. "You're not aware are you, Regina?" He felt pure glee at her confused stare. "Oh dearie, you should really check your cellar more often."
Regina shook her head, a shocked No... leaving her mouth before she could think about it. How?!
"Yes, after your little stunt with the apple, a very dissapointed Mad Hatter came to me with an offer I just couldn't refuse. So now my Belle and therefore your leverage is in a safe place."
"You bastard!" Regina growled in a low voice.
"Oh now, dearie. Please think about your bloodpressure, it isn't good for the baby."
She shot him some daggers before turning on her heel, leaving the store in tsunami of anger.
