Hello again! Enjoy...

Today in Fast Lane...

Abby attends her first real life street race, Rachel and Tina get some on the job training in preparation for Race Wars, Blaine and Kurt have something they want to say to Santana, and discussions begin regarding the last car on Santana's list...

Thank you to all the people who reviewed yesterday (including the semi-anon reviews too – you know who you are) and everybody who followed, you know it means a lot. I hope you enjoy this chapter and we'll be back tomorrow for another instalment! :D

Abby exited the house when she heard the familiar sound of highly tuned engines. She watched as her sister's RX8 pulled up alongside the curb, Santana's blue Supra pulling in behind her. The two women got out of their cars and Brittany made her way up the path to the porch where she was waiting.

"You ready to go?" Brittany asked.

Abby nodded with a frown. "Yeah but why have you driven here apart? I thought you lived together?"

"We do." Brittany confirmed. "But we're setting the example for you tonight. When we're representing our crew we all take our own cars."

"Oh."

"Yeah, show of force or something like that. Anyway, did you say goodbye to mom and dad?"

"Yeah, I did."

"Good, me and Santana will lead you to the house where we're meeting the rest of the crew."

"Ok, hi Santana."

The Latina waved from where she was watching across the roof of her Supra. "Hey."

"Come on babe, let's go."

Santana nodded and accepted the kiss Brittany offered before getting back into her car. Brittany soon followed with a smile to her sister and as soon as Abby had backed up onto the road Brittany led the way, the three of them heading towards the house where everybody else was waiting.

"Early, I like it."

Abby nodded at the crew leader who was grinning at her, Santana and Brittany. "I made them come over early."

Letty turned to Brittany and raised a questioning eyebrow. "It's true. She didn't want to be a second late."

"That's good, I'm impressed. Down to business though, Santana are you ready?"

"I'm always ready for a race."

"Glad to hear it. Rach, are you ready too?"

"I can't wait to get off the start line already."

"Well then, seeing as you two are ready to go let's move. Blaine and Kurt are waiting for us at the race start."

Rachel and Santana nodded, the two of them high-fiving each other before getting into their cars. Brittany noticed the look on Abby's face and moved to stand next to her. "Are you ok sis?"

"Oh, yeah, just a little starstruck is all."

"How so?"

The younger Pierce shrugged. "I don't know, I guess I wasn't prepared to see all these highly tuned cars all in one place."

Looking around at her fellow crew's cars Brittany nodded. "It's a little overwhelming at first, I know, but this is HQ. This is what it looks like all the time. These cars are some of the best in the city and you'll get to see two of them in action on the streets tonight. Speaking of we'd better head out. Santana and my best friend have a race and they need the whole crew behind them, including you so let's go."

"Ok, thanks sis."

Brittany playfully shoved her, making Abby grin. "Don't thank me yet. You haven't seen my girlfriend drive."

So let's get right to it and groove
It ain't nothin but a thing to get ya people to move
Gotta lovin the way we swing when we step on the scene
You know we kill it, goin all out, we about to (G-g-g-g-g-get it!)

Yo, it's in my blood, I was born to spit it
The coroner has kept me warm through the storms of winter
Ignored the pain and struggle when it's time for dinner
We huddle together and grind, rain or shine
Survive the weather, forget about changin spinners
Throw me a bone, I'm just tryna raise my litter
It made me bitter, eventually made me sicker
So when the heat's on we don't get pre-game jitters, uh-uh

The racing scene was alive with sound as Abby stepped out of her car. Parked at the end of the line of Letty's crew she watched as said women stepped out of their cars, finally understanding what Brittany meant by a show of force. They were a force to be reckoned with and Abby was sure that there wasn't anybody stupid enough to try, apart from Puck's crew of course. Her eyes scanning the crowd she spotted the source of the loud music, a red '99 Mitsubishi Eclipse with it's trunk wide open. Music pumped out of the powerful speakers smoothly, girls in barely any clothes dancing with a small crowd. Abby had to admit, she felt the bass all the way to where she was standing, seeping up through her boots and into the pit of her stomach. It felt good and it felt right. Continuing to scan the crowd she found the start line, seeing a black McClaren MP4 and a yellow Saleen parked alongside one another. It wasn't until she saw who was lent up against the hoods of said cars that she realised maybe she was in for more of a show than she'd originally thought. Hearing a loud revving she watched as Rachel's purple S2000 pulled up to the line closest to her and the rest of her sister's crew. There was one space left and not letting her down she watched Santana pull into said empty space, revving her engine for extra effect as she came to a stop. The crowd nearest the line cheered at the sight of her, Rachel grinning from across her hood of her car as her friend enjoyed the attention. It wasn't until she saw her walking that she realised Brittany had left her side to go and stand with Santana.

We go to work man, diggin in dirt
We took 'em to church, we're checkin in some teenage strippers
Livin life by the seat of my pants and three-peated
We champs, undefeated we can't, lose ever
Whoever want it with us better roll with a camp
You trust to cover your ass when your asses can't
Huh, so bottom's up, here's one for the crew
Put some liquor in your gut and tell me what you wanna do, sing it

Said blonde strutted as the music thumped into the tarmac of the street, a slight sway to her hips as she headed for her girlfriend. Brittany grinned at Santana but it turned into a smirk when she caught sight of Rory on the far end, the younger street racer already glaring at Santana. She didn't care though. Instead she continued and closed the gap between her and Santana even though she knew more than just his eyes were on her. She smiled at her girlfriend and pecked her on the lips before situating herself in her lap, Santana not needing to adjust herself even though she was lent up against the hood of her car.

"Hey babe."

"Hey." She replied back, wrapping an arm around Santana's shoulder's as one of hers went to her waist.

"Rory's staring daggers at me isn't he?"

"The moment your car pulled up."

Santana chuckled. "He already knows he's lost."

"Yep but that isn't going to stop him from trying everything he can to beat you though."

"All the more reason to make it more interesting for your sister to watch."

Brittany pulled away enough to show Santana the raised eyebrow she was sporting. "Santana."

"What?"

"This is every day for us."

"I know but that doesn't mean I can't throw a little something into the mix." There were a few moments of silence between them before Brittany grinned. "What's that grin for? What's going on in that genius brain of yours?"

"What if my sister did a ride-along?"

"Are you serious? Aren't you the one who doesn't want her to do this?"

"I know but I know you'd keep her safe. Plus it would meant that you wouldn't have to pull off something crazy to impress her."

"Britt, why the sudden change of heart?"

Looking back over at her sister Brittany shrugged before turning back to her girlfriend. "She's not gonna get everything standing here on the sidelines watching you through a screen. She needs to feel the car and the street."

"Ok if this were to happen who would race with Rach?"

Following Santana's gaze she watched her fellow crew members converse off to the sidelines. "Tina!"

"Tina?"

"Yeah."

"Ok, why?"

"Because she wants to learn how to become a better scout right?"

"Yeah..."

"Then here's her chance to start! You put her in the car with Rach as a co-driver, she doesn't have to focus on driving and she gets practice scouting out routes. That way you can then cross the line in first, give her some experience, and give my sister some up front reality."

"How would we go about this?"

"Well, you let me handle it when it comes to putting the money down. Let me surprise my sister."

"If that's what you wanna do. You really trust me with your sister?"

"If you're even half as good as the driver I know you are you'll not only protect her, you'll impress her and you'll blow her mind all at the same time. Remember I've been in the passenger seat of your car, I know first hand that you'd never intentionally hurt me."

Santana smiled up at her, leaning in and pressing their lips together. "I love how much faith you have in me."

"I love how much faith I have in you too. Come here." She husked the last two words, drawing Santana into another kiss, this time a lot slower and a lot more promising of things that were to come later that night back at home if she won.

S - for every sucker left behind
O - what they were yellin when I bust a rhyme
B - best believe when it's time to get it
We grind and jet cause we ain't got time to kick it, no!
S - for the drunk sexy women
O - sippin Jack with some Pepsi in it
B - best believe when it's time to get it
We grind and jet cause we ain't got time to kick it, no!

"Everybody gather round!" Blaine announced, the crew converging to where he was stood at the start line. Santana stood up along with Brittany and once everybody was there and listening Blaine began. "Ok, 5k buy-in. Who's in?"

"Make it ten!"

Everybody turned to Rory who was looking directly at Santana. "Higher stakes? Who's racing?" Blaine asked.

"Me and Rachel."

"And me and Mike."

"You sure you wanna up the game? This is supposed to be a low pressure race."

"I'm one hundred and ten percent sure."

"Ok, Santana, Rachel are you guys ok with this?" Both women nodded. "Mike?"

"Yep."

"Ok. Pay up and get in your cars and we'll start the race."

"Wait, who says this is ok? Where's your crew leader?" Dani piped up.

Brody crossed his arms over his chest smugly. "I'm officially in charge tonight. Boss's orders."

Dani laughed. "If you say so. Not to mention downright disrespectful."

"She's right. Puckerman should have been here for a crew race." Marley added.

"Yeah, he too busy scared that he's gonna lose Race Wars to be here?" Dani grinned, the crowd murmuring at the burn as Brody growled, Blaine pushing him back before he could start anything.

"Back to the present, he's not here. Don't worry though, I'll be having words with him the next time he shows his face at one of my races, including Cassandra. Relay that message to him; next time I won't be so lenient, especially when it involves absent crew leaders. Is there anything else anybody would like to add before we begin?"

"I have something I wanna add." Brittany announced from her place beside Santana.

"What is it Britt?"

"Ride-alongs."

"Who are you suggesting?"

"My sister Abby with Santana and Tina with Rachel."

He turned to said women. "Are you ok with this ladies?" When he got two nods he turned back to Brittany. "Looks like that's a yes. Pay up and buckle in. This race just got a lot more interesting. Puck's crew pick ride-alongs and get moving."

As Santana handed Blaine her entry deposit Abby marched over to her sister. "Britt what's going on?!"

"Exactly what it means. You're riding along. You wanted first hand experience, now's your chance to get it."

"By riding up front with another street racer behind the wheel!?"

"It's not just any street racer, it's Santana."

"She's right you know. Santana's got your ass covered. She'll take care of you." Quinn added as she made her way past them to go and talk to her girlfriend.

"Ok, so I'm a little nervous but can you blame a girl? High speed cars, traffic, air time, cops!"

Brittany laughed. "Remember I do this nearly every day. You remind me of me before I became a crew member."

"I do?"

"Yeah. You just need some experience and I can guarantee you you're not gonna have a better opportunity for first hand experience. Santana's the best of the best, take it while you can."

Abby raised an eyebrow, her arms crossed over her chest defiantly. "Are you sure you're not just saying that because she's your girlfriend?"

"I mean it Abby, regardless of what Santana is to me. Trust me, you won't get it any better so go on and strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. You're gonna have the time of your life regardless of whether you decide to race in the future or not."

Abby nodded and pulled her sister in for a hug before getting into the passenger seat of the Supra waiting for Santana. Brittany looked over and saw Santana talking with Rachel. Deciding to give her time to talk to them she looked for Blaine and made her way over to him.

"You guys ready for this?"

"Of course we are." Rachel responded, a grin on her face.

"T, you ok with this?"

"Yeah, I think so. This is the start."

Santana nodded, reaching out and placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It is but then you'll be on your way."

Tina smiled. "Thanks."

"No problem. This is learning for all of us, including Abby. Rach, you ready to keep these tarados in their expensive toys in last?"

"Hell yeah!"

"Ok then, let's buckle up."

Santana fist bumped the two women and then made her way back to her Supra, sliding into the car and finding Abby in the passenger seat looking the most shy she'd seen her since she'd met her.

"Hey Abs. You ok?"

"Uh..."

"It's ok, I'm not gonna bite you. What's up?"

"I haven't exactly had experience with a race harness."

"No worries." She smiled reassuringly. "Here, let me help you out." A minute later it was on and securely in place. Abby then watched as Santana secured her own. "Ok, here we go. Watch and learn."

Following Santana's hands she watched as she started flipping switches, priming the Nos tanks and the GPS system. When she was done with clipping on her radio so that she could communicate with Rachel and Tina she grinned at Abby and looked back to her window, Brittany coming up alongside her car.

"Hey babe."

"Hey baby." Brittany smiled into a kiss, leaning into the window to meet her girlfriend's lips. "Hmm, are you ready?"

"As I'll ever be. You starting tonight?"

It was then that Brittany held up a white bandanna with a grin on her face. "Of course. You're racing."

"I love it when you start races."

"I love it when I start races too." She purred, letting her lips meet Santana's again. When they pulled apart she was still smiling and cupping Santana's jaw she winked at her before turning her gaze to Abby. "Have fun lil sis. Good luck baby."

"Thanks."

She pecked Santana's lips once more before pulling away and heading towards the front of the car. Watching her sit on the hood of the Supra Santana looked over at Rachel, sharing a thumbs up before looking back at her girlfriend.

When she got the ok from Blaine who was stood next to Letty and the rest of her crew Brittany stood up, making her way to the middle of the road like she had so many times before. Abby nervously watched, Santana quick to reassure her.

"Don't worry, me and Rachel have you covered. Just hold onto something tight and see how it's done."

Moments later her car fired to life as Brittany raised her arms, everybody taking that as their cues to start their engines. She pointed at Rachel, getting a rev of approval, and the same with Santana, Abby's eyes widening at the sound of the powerful high performance tuner engine growling in warning to anybody who dared oppose it. It was definitely a more satisfying sound to her ears than Mike's MP4 which came next followed by Rory's Saleen, the two expensive cars a joke in her eyes. They'd put up a fight but she had a feeling deep down in her gut that the Supra that she was currently sat in and the S2000 to it's left were a much better bet at actually winning this race.

All four cars revving in front of her Brittany grinned and with one last smirk and wink at Santana she dropped to the ground, spinning on her heels as every racer took off over the line. She'd never get over how satisfying the rush was of sending them on their way, especially the blue Supra that her girlfriend was driving.

Immediately Mike's MP4 took up first place, the acceleration allowing him to quickly take control. In joint third Santana and Rachel watched ahead as Rory took up second, Mike already clearing the first turn. They'd hardly began when Tina was already radioing to her an upcoming hazard.

"Watch it Santana. Lumber truck dead ahead."

"Damn." She cursed, seeing it hitting the turn that she had to drive into. "Hold back. I'm gonna clear it first for you."

"Loud and clear."

Already knowing what she was going to do Santana shifted up a gear, the car pushing forward as she rapidly approached the lumber truck. Abby watched from beside her as her eyes flickered from thing to thing before finally settling on the truck. Before she could really even comprehend what the hell was going on Santana had thrown the car – and her, into a sharp slide. It was risky but it paid off. There was just enough clearance as Santana slid her car underneath the truck through to the other side. Straightening back up she was already focused on the road ahead, momentarily glancing up into her rear-view to check on Rachel.

"Rach, you good?"

Using everything that Quinn and Letty had taught her Rachel was swerving in an extremely precise manner around the now-out of control truck, pulling ahead and back into a normal road position.

"I'm good S. Let's get these guys."

"I'm right with you on that. We've gotta get moving so that T can scout us some routes."

"I hear you on that. Let's do it."

Abby could only stare, a loud breath escaping her lips as she relaxed a little, or a least as much as she could given her current situation. Turning to her for the briefest of moments Santana's focused expression softened.

"You ok?"

"I think so."

"Just hang in there, the race has only just begun."

"And don't I know it." Abby chuckled, earning one from Santana in return.

"Ok there's a back alley up ahead Santana, push it and Rach will follow you through it. It's gonna shave a few precious seconds off their lead."

"I see it, keep it tight Berry."

"Already on it Lopez." Rachel replied, gripping her steering wheel tight and speeding up so that she was right behind the tail of the Supra.

Pulling into the alleyway Santana felt the bumps and roughness of the road but didn't let it phase her, instead focusing on the exit up ahead that was fast approaching. Things got tight exceptionally quickly and glancing to her right Santana could see the sheer look of fear plastered on Abby's face.

"T, you sure we can fit through this thing?"

"One hundred and ten percent. I wouldn't have suggested it if I wasn't sure."

"Ok, I'm counting on you for this T."

"I know."

Speeding up Santana nearly had her foot to the floor as the exit to the alley came into sight. Her hands subconsciously gripping the wheel tighter she steeled her expression ready for anything that came her way upon her exit. Rachel was close behind, almost bumper to bumper, and Santana recognized the signature Quinn Fabray precision. Her best friend had obviously taught her girlfriend well. She'd have to thank her, Rachel was looking good. Back to the situation at hand she reached the exit and it was a split second reaction that was needed as she shot back onto the road. In true Santana Lopez fashion she used all of her hard earned skill and put it to the test, holding the car steady as she slid to the other side as well as in the right direction. It seemed impossible to anybody else, especially Abby, who was witnessing this first hand from the passenger seat beside her but she pulled it off, straightening up the high powered tuner before looking up into her rear-view mirror. A delivery truck swerved but Rachel's split second reaction allowed her to narrowly avoid it, the purple S2000 right back on her tail. Santana grinned, looking over at Abby.

"You ok?"

There was a brief pause between them, Santana expecting the blonde to reply that she was terrified out of her mind but she soon let a smile cross her lips, exhaling a breath she didn't know she'd been holding. "That was amazing!"

Santana too grinned, turning back to the road. "There's the spirit! T, where are we in race position?"

"A few car lengths ahead of them. You have the lead."

"Awesome. Great work back there. A few more of those and we have this race in the bag."

"No problem, just doing my job S."

Having expected it when she saw the familiar lights of cars in her rear-view mirror dodging from right to left she knew that Mike and Rory had caught up with them. She didn't let it phase her though, instead continuing to weave in and out of traffic as she handled the next few turns with ease, Rachel right behind her. It wasn't until two turns later that she heard the loud roar of a high powered supercar engine and Mike's MP4 was soaring past her at what seemed the speed of light. Seeing the familiar blue tails of flames coming from his exhaust pipes Santana knew he'd hit the Nos.

"Shit."

Abby's eyes flickered from the black McClaren and back to Santana again. "What? Is something wrong?"

"In a way. He just go the lead but that's a win for us."

"How?"

"He may have overtaken me but I'm guessing that being the idiot he is Mike just spent his entire two bottles' worth of juice. That means if he wants to use it again he can't. He's just given us the advantage."

"What about Rory?"

"Look behind you to where the back seats used to be."

Abby glanced in between the seats and towards the back, seeing the two large, bright blue Nos bottles. "That's a lot of juice."

"It is and it's gonna help us win. Anyway, I've beat these guys in their expensive supercars before in just my Supra. I'm not exactly worried. This car is pure willpower, I have faith that my baby can get the job done."

"If you have faith then I have faith too. The pure Japanese tuner power that I can feel is amazing."

Santana laughed. "It's intoxicating isn't it?"

"More than that, addictive. I can see why you and my sister love tuner cars so much now. It's like getting high without the drugs."

"I couldn't agree more. Now let's get this guy and claw back first position."

"Hell yeah!" Abby took the opportunity whilst Santana's hand was free and high fived her, the two women grinning as the adrenaline started to kick in.

Santana pressed her foot down, shifting into the highest gear possible as she easily caught up with Mike. She continued to push but he was proving difficult as he swerved from right to left in a desperate attempt to block her from overtaking and shake her off. What made it difficult was the traffic in the way, Mike causing them to swerve and make it harder for the racers behind him as they went in a myriad of directions across both sides of the road. He was gonna get someone killed. With a co-driver like Sam she wasn't surprised.

"T, give me something here, he won't let me past him."

"I'm looking...Ok, take the opening on the far left. Do you see it?"

"Yeah, brick paved?"

"That's the one. It should let you cut the corner and give you at least a little space to slip past him on the other side."

"Ok, I'm going for it. Wish me luck."

"Good luck. We'll hold off Rory. Go get him S."

Seeing said opening rapidly approaching Santana knew that her window for getting in it was rapidly closing too. Not letting this notion scare her off like most street racers she just grit her teeth at the urgency and threw her foot right down to the floor. Using her tempered control she held the steering wheel tightly as she fought the slide of the car, dashing across traffic as she headed for her destination. Seeing her moving away from his rear-view mirror Mike frowned and suddenly and sharply turned his car to the left, swerving as he fought, at speed, to get behind her.

"This fucker just won't give up." Santana swore, her eyes flickering to her mirror and back to the alley again. She didn't let it phase her though, instead keeping control in the tight bend as she neared the exit. "T, he's right on my ass. You've gotta give me something else."

"When you exit the turn take the next right across the small paved walkway of the park. It will throw you off course but it should throw him off enough to allow you to put some space between him and first place."

"Ok, keep an eye out. Rach, make sure you have those sharp skills at hand, I think you might need them when you clear that turn."

"I've already got you covered S, I'm on it and ready."

"Good, S out. Abby, you might wanna hold onto something tight. This rides gonna get a little bumpy."

Grabbing hold of the door handle Abby prepared herself mentally and physically for what was coming next. She only had a to wait a few beats and sure enough Santana was throwing the Supra out of the small paved alleyway and into the throngs of traffic earning a few obnoxious car horns from angry drivers as she slid the car into some semblance of control, Mike close behind. As expected though Tina's quick fix worked and she was throwing herself into the walkway of the park in no time, blaring her own horn as she desperately tried to make people move out of the way so that she didn't hit them.

As soon as she was free of the park, thankfully not hitting anyone, she took note of the street she was on, radioing to Tina for help.

"T, how do I get back on course?"

"Me and Rachel will lead the way."

Looking to her left she watched as Rachel overtook her, taking on what Tina would do in her own car if she were scouting behind the wheel. With her scout now ahead Santana knew that she would work her magic and make a path for her to take to get them back on course and put some space between her and Mike and Rory. She knew neither of them would be happy, especially Rory's co-driver Brody.

"There's some tight turns coming up S, keep in tight with Rachel."

"I'm already on it."

Tina didn't need to say any more, just watching in Rachel's rear-view mirror as Santana came up close behind into her slipstream. As Rachel kept her line tight on the first turn Tina watched in awe once again as Santana effortlessly drifted around it whilst maintaining the short distance between them. She then did it again in the opposite direction on the next turn, Rachel speeding up even as she remained determined to give Santana the distance they needed to win this race. Putting it lightly it didn't sit well with Brody who was a few turns behind itching to just take control of Rory's Saleen himself then and there, his temper getting the better of him.

"Why the hell do we keep letting you race against this bitch!?"

"Because she stole my girlfriend!" Rory bit back, narrowly dodging a pickup truck.

"She'd be your girlfriend by now if you'd just have some balls and take that lead from Lopez! Come on, this car is made to go fast, stop being a pussy! Do you want Brittany or not!?"

As usual Rory didn't realise that Brody was pressing down on his sore spots on purpose. He fell for it again and growled as his hands gripped the steering wheel in a white knuckle hold and he scanned the traffic for any way he could gain a lead over Santana.

"Use the Nos."

"What?"

"Put your foot down and when I say hit it you press those two buttons on your steering wheel and you fire up the Nos. Take the lead."

Rory didn't argue, instead listening to his honorary crew leader and putting his foot down. Santana saw this in her rear-view and was prepared for something drastic as he gained significantly on them, putting that high powered engine to good use, but she didn't prepare for what he did next. He swerved ahead of Mike and in front of Rachel, hitting a minivan and sending it veering across the road. The car hit another and it was like an explosive chain reaction as traffic littered themselves in every direction causing Rachel and Santana to break up their perfect hold on each other and send them flying too. Knowing that she had precious cargo in the passenger seat of her car, a.k.a. Abby, Santana used every ounce of driving knowledge and skill she had to keep the Supra from spinning out of control. Never more thankful for the fact that it was rear wheel drive she managed to slide it around traffic as she gained it back, her hands deathly tight on the wheel as she fought to avoid getting hit and possibly killed by another car trying to dodge her at high speed.

Smoke bellowed from her tires as she slid to a stop, her breathing heavy as she finally cleared the traffic accident. Her eyes scanned around for Rachel and spotted her S2000 a few car lengths ahead of her down the street, the purple car also stopped but relatively unharmed. When she saw Rachel almost instantly start moving she too herself threw the Supra into gear and was speeding off behind her. Now in fourth place she'd have to grind back her lead. Nothing new there then.

Turning to Abby momentarily her gaze softened from that of focused into something softer and more concerned. "Abs, you ok?"

Looking over at Santana, her own breathing still heavy, she nodded. "Yeah, I think so. What was that?"

"One jealous dude. He'll do anything to try and win over me. He thinks it will win back Brittany."

"Are you serious?" She asked in disbelief, making Santana chuckle despite their near-death experience only minutes before.

"Yeah, one hundred and ten percent."

"That guy doesn't know when to give up."

"That's very true. That's why we need to get back this lead and put him in his place. I have precious cargo, what do you think he's gonna say when I tell him Brittany will never want him if he killed her sister?"

"He's gonna be pissed."

"Exactly, but we need to teach him a lesson – the Ortiz crew way. You in?"

"Hell yeah!"

"Ok then...Rachel, T, you guys ok?"

"We're good S. He just pulled in front of me and caused a major traffic accident! He could have killed both of us and a lot of innocent people!"

"I know."

"Are you and Abby ok?"

"We're good. How far do you think him and Mike are ahead?"

"A good way. Enough that we've got some serious catching up to do if we want any chance of winning this race."

"Then I guess Tina's gonna have to work some of that golden scouting magic of hers. You in Chang?"

"Of course I am, I already have a few time savers lined up that are gonna shave some valuable time off and catch us up to them faster."

"Good, Rachel lead the way, lets teach this tramposo a lesson."

"I'm with you all the way on that S. Rachel out."

"Ok." Santana exhaled, flexing her hands. "Let's do this."

The next few turns and bends were tense as Santana tried her hardest to remain right behind Rachel in an attempt to make up for lost time. And it was working.

"Ok S, up ahead in approximately two turns there's a straight just long enough to build up speed. Baline's race scouts already marked it as a point of interest."

"What is it?"

"A ramp."

"You want me to slipstream behind Rachel and slingshot out ahead."

"Yeah, according to this map Rory and Mike are just ahead. It should be perfect if we keep it tight."

"Already on it. Rach, you ready to do this?"

"I was born ready."

"Ok then, let's do this."

With the new knowledge of the ramp in mind Rachel pushed harder, Santana right behind her in her slipstream. It was enough to allow her the extra speed, already feeling it, and as soon as they exited the turn and hit the straight the two women put their feet down to the floor. Precision at it's best Santana admired the way Rachel took to being a drafter so naturally and quickly, the position perfect for her with her precision training courtesy of Quinn. It gave her the confidence she needed and with her car going faster she saw her opportunity and took it. Rachel was eagle-eyed in front as she quickly flickered her gaze back and forth between the road in front of her and the Supra behind her. Any moment now...

Santana looked over at Abby. "You ready?"

"Yeah."

Nodding she turned back to the road ahead and in the blink of an eye she snapped the car to the right, lurching forwards and out of Rachel's slipstream as the speed took over. The ramp rapidly approached and she zoomed past Rachel at a speed that would make any other driver behind the wheel terrified for their life and slam on the brakes. For Santana though she wasn't the least bit phased, Abby observing that she was more focused than anything. It served her well, her determination paying off as she finally hit the ramp, the world around them slowing down as she flew up and off it at the speed of light. Everybody could hear the roar of her engine as she hit the air, the Supra seemingly flying as it travelled at both speed and with ferocity. It wasn't long before she was coming back down though, both her and Abby bracing themselves for the inevitable crash back down to Earth that they knew was coming.

When it did impact there was a brief moment of fear as the other drivers looked on but in true Santana Lopez fashion she got a handle on it the split moment she had the chance. Pulling the car into a drift she was never more thankful for the high spec suspension that she'd tuned to perfection as she seemingly bounced back onto the tarmac and hit the turn immediately after. It was a move no other driver could have made and she pulled it off as if it were easy, yanking on the leash of the Supra to tame it back into a semi-manageable beast once again. Now in second place the risk was worth the reward, Rory the only thing standing between her and victory.

Abby yelled in amazement and joy, the young woman pumped at the fact that first, Santana had managed to actually pull it off at all (without killing them that is) and second, that she'd been there to witness it first hand. Brittany was going to be so jealous. Santana's reaction to this was a well-deserved sigh of relief and a grin at Abby's enthusiasm. The adrenaline was high between the both of them and she was pretty sure that it was all they needed to win this thing. She just had to figure out a way to knock Rory off the top spot without getting anybody hurt (i.e. her and Rachel – including their passengers).

Back behind her Rachel was behind in fourth, knowing that she needed to get ahead. She'd been right behind Mike and was trying to slipstream him the best she could but it just wasn't working. He was too slippery and all over the road it was making it hard for her to get a grip on how she could do this. Luckily for her she had her girlfriend's voice inside her head reminding her of everything she'd taught her so far. She was confident enough that she'd come a long enough way to allow her to get ahead, she just had to figure out how to put it into practical use. Easier said than done. Her eyes scanned the traffic ahead as she came out of a turn, seeing Mike's MP4 not that far ahead. She continued to weave through traffic, trying to stay right on his course and spotted an opening. It was slim but she head to take it. She knew it would be worth the risk but she had to have faith that she was good enough to pull it off without crashing and killing both her and Tina in the process.

She set her plan into motion by pulling out from behind Mike and heading to the far right. She then sped up so that she was on the other side of a large truck. There was a gap between that, about a car's length, and the back of another truck and as she came level with it she could see Mike on the other side. Now in joint third place she knew she had to bump him down to fourth, gripping hold of her steering wheel tighter and preparing herself for what came next. Tina said nothing from the passenger seat beside her, deciding not to question her, and instead watched in the hope that she could learn from it, if Rachel pulled it off that is. She had faith in her that she could so she said nothing, allowing her to work her magic.

Working said magic Rachel swerved the S2000 to the left and in what was a move of complete utter faith she pulled the car to the left through the gap and straight across to Mike. She didn't stop however. If clearing the gap was a miracle enough what she did next was the icing on the cake. She continued to move the car rapidly at the McClaren and before Mike even knew what was happening Rachel was slamming into the side of him, veering him wildly off course. He swerved out of control and Rachel quickly straightened her car up the fastest she could, both her and Tina watching in her rear-view mirror as Mike's tires bellowed smoke and he came to a stop at the side of the road. Grinning Rachel shifted up a gear and put her foot down to catch up with Santana. With Mike out of the way they could both work together to pry Rory from first place so that they could win.

They pushed hard through the last few remaining turns to make up that space and Rachel remained right behind Santana as she drifted at high speed through each one. Of course, she couldn't do that herself, only slide a little, but she admired Santana for doing it without compromising the time they'd made up. It just made things a lot flashier and if you asked Abby she'd agree. She was impressed and if her sister was supposed to be even better than Santana she couldn't wait to beg her to show her..

Back to the race at hand Santana rapidly headed for the last turn. "Ok Rach, after this it's the home stretch. A mile of tarmac lies between us and the win. You ready to do what it takes to knock Rory off his top spot?"

Rachel watched ahead as Santana entered the last corner. "Of course. I'm yours to command."

"I'm counting on it. Abs, you ready?"

"I guess it comes down to this huh?"

"Yep, down to the wire. These are the few precious seconds that we street racers live for. Rory's all that stands in our way."

"Then let's do this."

Santana grinned. "Hell yeah!"

Abby matched her smile as they drifted out of the turn. Up ahead she could already see the familiar back end of Rory's Saleen weaving in and out of traffic. She had to come up with a plan and fast. Luckily for her the adrenaline running through her veins had her thinking quickly and in a matter of moments she'd already come up with a way to throw him off the number one spot and propel both her and Rachel into first and second place over the line. It just had to be done right or else they'd be screwed.

"Ok Rach, I need you to stay in close behind me. When I say drop back, pull away and clear some room. When Rory loses control I want you to hit the Nos the same time as I do."

"What do you mean 'lose control'?"

"Right now that doesn't matter. What does matter is that I need you with me on this or this isn't going to work."

Deciding not to question it Rachel agreed. "Ok, I'm with you. Let's do this."

"It's a go."

And with that Santana put her foot down, pushing the Supra closer to Rory. As soon as he noticed her he started swerving to stop her from getting ahead but Santana was determined. Her window was rapidly diminishing and if she waited any longer she'd have blown her and Rachel's chances of winning. Gritting her teeth she gripped the steering wheel tighter and pushed forward those last few important meters. As soon as she was close enough she glanced at the traffic ahead, waiting for her moment to strike. Rory however was getting impatient, swerving violently to the right in an attempt to shake her.

"You bitch! She's mine!"

Santana never heard him though, not that she probably would have wanted to. Instead she took his move as the perfect opportunity and when they were both straightened up again she pulled to the left slightly and moved forward so that her bumper was aligned with the left of his back one. Abby had already guessed what she was going to do and had already braced herself for the inevitable impact. Luckily she didn't have to wait long as Santana knew she had to strike now or she'd lose the race entirely.

"Rach, drop back now!"

In seconds she was nudging the Supra to the right and clipping him in the bumper. Most people would have thought that it wouldn't have worked with the amount of force she'd put into it but it did exactly what she wanted it to.

"Rach, hit the Nos!"

Abby watched from the passenger seat as Rory lost control, Santana sliding out of his line of fire and to relative safety before pressing down hard on both of the red buttons in the center of her steering wheel. The whole car surged forward at the sudden burst of speed and the blonde barely had time to see in Santana's rear-view Rachel do the same. The S2000 was right behind them, Rachel having activated her Nos the moment Santana had given the go, and as Rory spun desperately out of control the two women both headed straight for the finish line where the large crowd, including her sister, was waiting excitedly.

She had expected Santana to hit the brakes immediately when she crossed the line first but to her surprise she didn't. Instead she somehow slid the car to a stop, angling it to face Letty and rest of the crew as Rachel stopped about a meter or so away facing the side of her. Smoke may have been bellowing from both cars' tires but as their breathing barely slowed down the crowd was already swarming their cars in cheers and congratulations. Santana looked over at Abby and laughed.

"You ok?"

"I'm good, that was...wow."

Santana grinned. "I know. The first rush is always the most shocking. Come on, we have some winnings to collect."

Now knowing what to do Abby unbuckled herself from the race harness of the passenger seat and stepped out to see the rest of the crowd congratulating Santana and Rachel already. Some even high fived her. She watched with a wide grin on her face as Santana was then greeted by Brittany.

The Latina grinned into her lips. "Well done baby."

"Thanks querida." She responded, pecking Brittany on the lips as she wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Hah! Nice race ladies. That was some pure fire out there!" Blaine grinned, walking up to her and Rachel and shaking their hands.

Rachel smiled just as widely. "We try our best. Now, where are those winnings?"

Blaine chuckled and turned to Kurt who handed him the bundles of cash. "Right here. One for you, and one for you. It's well-deserved. That was some nice teamwork out there tonight ladies."

Santana smiled as she took the cash. "Thank you."

"Hey, you almost killed me!"

Santana looked over to Rory who was pushing himself through the crowd and rolled her eyes. "What is it this time?"

"I almost hit my crew!"

"Be thankful that you didn't. You were all over the road and probably would have gotten somebody hurt anyway thanks to your co-driver."

Rachel nodded in agreement. "She's right and the last time I checked pit manoeuvring someone isn't illegal in a street race. Check your rule book next time."

"If there is a next time." Brittany added.

Rory turned to her and frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Oh come off it Rory, it's plain to see that you're on a war path with Santana to try and win my honour. When are you going to see that it's never gonna happen? You keep losing, take the hint already and maybe we can all get back to some real racing instead of this toy car shit that you call 'street racing'."

The crowd murmured loudly at Brittany's retort, the blonde finally having had enough with his games. It was time to make it clear not only to him but also in front of a large crowd that she'd chosen Santana and she wasn't changing her mind any time soon, if at all. It wasn't until a few moments later that Rory responded, getting all up in Brittany's face. Without any surprise Santana was already standing in front of her to shield her.

"Well, you know what? You're gonna pay for that! I'm going to make it hurt so bad at Race Wars you're gonna wish you never chose that cheating Latina bitch over me! I'll see you at Race Wars."

As he stormed off Brody glared at Letty and followed behind his crew. Letty's crew however weren't done.

"Yeah and maybe next time actually bring your actual crew leader instead of this pretender!" Marley jabbed.

"And maybe a better scout too!" Tina added.

Letty rolled her eyes but didn't stop them. There wasn't much need to. The disrespect Puck had shown by not turning up was much bigger than some simple off-handed jabs by her own crew members.

"Ok ladies, let's go. Round of drinks at Kitty's on me."

As the rest of the crew started dispersing, including Abby, Santana grabbed her by the arm to stop her. "Hey, hold up a sec."

"What's wrong?" Abby frowned.

Santana shook her head. "Nothing. I just wanted to give you something. Here, call it your first share of race winnings."

Abby looked down at the hundred dollar bill that Santana was holding out for her. "Santana, I can't take this. I didn't do anything."

"And that's why I'm giving it to you, for the things that you didn't do. I would have expected other people to scream the entire time but you didn't, you just let yourself enjoy it, including the adrenaline. You can do with this what you want, you can pig out on candy, buy a sweet new pair of sneakers, I know I would, or even invest it into the future of your car. It's up to you but it's my personal thank you for making this race even better to win. Here, take it."

Abby didn't argue, just took the bill into her hands. Brittany smiled at her sister. "Come on, we'll drive with you back home."

"Aren't you two going to celebrate with the others?"

Santana nodded. "Sure but that can wait. Let's get you home hermanita."

As Abby started making her way back to her Impreza Brittany turned to Santana and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Thank you."

"My pleasure."

Santana and Brittany laughed as Blaine and Kurt joked across the table from them, the joke having been priceless. As the laughter died down and Santana took another fry into her mouth she knew it was the perfect opportunity to ask the question that had been burning in the back of her mind ever since the moment earlier that week when Blaine and Kurt had invited both her and Brittany to dinner at Breadstix for date night.

"Ok guys, this is great and all but I know you didn't just ask me and Brittany here to dinner to catch up and joke. What's up?"

Both Kurt and Blaine exchanged glances before they turned back to the Latina and her girlfriend. "That's true, we didn't just ask you here for dinner." Blaine answered for them both.

Brittany frowned. "Then what did you ask us here for?" She asked, voicing the question on both hers and Santana's minds.

Kurt cleared his throat. "We wanted to have you in a relaxed environment with great food and great company. Santana, what I'm trying to say-"

Blaine grinned and cut in to stop Kurt from rambling before he could embarrass himself, a sure fact he knew would happen. "What we're both trying to say is that it's about time we apologized for how we treated you. You can understand why we responded the way we did, you know how close the crew is, but that's no reason to treat you the way we did when you nearly died. We invited you to dinner as an apology and our way of trying to make up for how we acted. This may seem to be coming out of nowhere but me and Kurt have been thinking about it for months now, ever since you suggested your plan. It's been a long time coming but we're sorry and I forgive you Santana."

Kurt smiled sincerely and looked at the slight shock on Santana's face across from him. "Yes, I'm sorry too and I forgive you."

There was a brief pause of silence between the two couples before Brittany jolted Santana from her thoughts by taking hold of and squeezing her hand on the table. She shook her head and a smile spread across her face as she found the words to reply. "Thank you, you know how much that means to me. I appreciate the dinner but you didn't have to take us out to forgive me and apologize. I would have been just happy if you pulled me aside at the garage or something."

"Yeah but then it wouldn't have been special. Me and Kurt wanted to pay you back a little."

"It's true." Kurt agreed with a smile. "This felt a much more appropriate setting. Plus if it means we get to hang out with our favourite lady couple then it's a win win for everyone."

Santana and Brittany both turned and smiled at each other, Brittany resting her head on her girlfriends shoulder as they turned back to their friends. "It means a lot." Brittany grinned. "Thank you, from the both of us."

Kurt shrugged. "No problem. As long as you let us pay for dinner then we're good."

Brittany laughed, Blaine and Santana following suit. "Just know that when we're done I'm hugging the mierda out of you."

This time Kurt laughed loudly. "I look forward to it. Now eat up, I can't wait!"

Santana shook her head, feeling Brittany place a kiss to her cheek before returning to her own food, the mood even more happier than she originally thought it ever could be.

As the laughter died down in the room Dani turned to Santana, pizza in hand, and raised an eyebrow at her. "Ok Lopez, enough fucking around."

Frowning Santana turned to the other Latina. "What do you mean?" She asked, all eyes now on her and Dani.

The blonde shrugged from her place beside Kitty. "You've got one last car to steal and it's for our crew leader – the most important one. What are we gonna do about it? Race Wars is coming up in a few weeks and we need it to modify it."

"She has a point Santana, we need to get it in order to make sure we're all ready for Race Wars." Rachel agreed from her place on the living room rug next to Quinn.

Even with all eyes on her Santana frowned, cogs turning in her brain as she routed her way through her many Race Wars-related thoughts to get to the ones that involved the very last car on her list. When her and Brittany had been invited over to the house for pizza and movie night she hadn't thought they'd be talking business but she couldn't blame them, she knew just how important this last car was to all of them. It marked the end of her plan and the beginning of another. Letting herself relax into the couch a little more she let out a sigh that only the closet person to her could hear, which just so happened to be Brittany who was sat next to her. Feeling a squeeze to her hand from her girlfriend she briefly turned to her and smiled before looking back at the rest of the crew which also included Kitty, Abby, Kurt and Blaine, the only ones missing Holly, Shelby and Roz.

"It's a simple concept really, we break in, find the car, hot-wire it and get the hell out of there."

"It's that simple?"

Santana turned to Quinn and nodded. "Yep."

Letty grinned and chuckled loudly. "Classic grab and go, I like it. Kinda old school, just my style."

This time Santana grinned. "I knew you would like it too."

"So when are you ready to do this?" Letty asked.

Santana shrugged. "Whenever you wanna go just give me a call. I'll be there whatever and whenever."

"Good to know, I'll hold you to that."

Santana grinned and took a sip of her beer. "I knew you would."

Brittany's eyes scanned around the room until she spotted her sister.

"Abby, can I talk to you for a minute?"

The younger blonde looked up and nodded. "Of course."

Brittany then turned to Santana and kissed her on the cheek. "I'll be back in a minute baby."

"Ok love. I'll see you in un minuto."

Brittany smiled and nodded as she stood up, leading Abby out of the room. When they got to Brittany's car which was parked in front of the house, Abby turned to her big sister. "Ok big sis, what is this about?"

Brittany motioned to the space beside her where she was lent up against the hood. "Join me and I'll tell you."

Abby relented and joined her in the empty space. "You know I don't like it when you get all serious on me don't you? It kinda freaks me out."

Brittany briefly laughed at her sisters comment, some part of her finding teasing her younger sister oddly satisfying. It wasn't long before it was gone though, replaced with something much more important. "I don't like it either but I needed to talk to you alone."

"Ok..."

"It's about the other night." She explained, taking a sip of her beer.

It took a few moments to register in Abby's mind but it wasn't that hard to put two and two together. "Oh, you mean that other night."

"Yes."

"Ok, well, what did you want to talk about?"

"I wanted to ask you sister to sister what you thought of it."

"So you wanted to know before everybody else?"

"Yes and don't bullshit me Abs, I know when you're lying."

"One of the many disadvantages of having an older sister." She said, causing Brittany to roll her eyes in response.

"Anyway, moving on, tell me what you thought."

"My honest opinion?"

"Mmm hmm."

"I freaking loved it!"

"Ok but what did you actually like about it?"

"Britt, stop being such a grumpy cat and listen to what I just said. I loved it, I loved everything about it. The music, the smells, the sounds, the crowd, and the cars..."

"Yes, what about the cars?"

"It was so freaking awesome Britt! I've never been in something so fast in my entire life! Santana is amazing!"

"And one of a kind. Don't think you're gonna get anywhere near that feeling, only she can give it to you."

"You are aware you just made that sound really weird right?"

Brittany frowned, realising her wording. "Whatever. You know what I meant."

"I did but that still doesn't change the fact that I loved it. The adrenaline was the best rush of my life! It was so dangerous around every turn yet the challenge to stay on the road was everything more than I ever thought it would be. Britt, I know you chose street racing over going to MIT and now I know why. I finally understand that rush you get when you get behind the wheel. Even if I have to start out small and grind my way up to the big leagues I'm going to prove to you that this is what I want."

"And that brings me to my last question. Is this really what you want?"

Abby took a step away from the hood and turned to face her sister and her RX8. "This," She said, motioning to Brittany and her Mazda before pointing to the other various crew cars parked nearby. "Is everything that I want. Something clicked within me Britt and I can't say no, not when I'm intoxicated by every single minute of it. Even if I have to prove it to just you and it takes longer than everyone else, I want in."

Brittany smiled, despite the worry eating away at her and as if sensing this Abby stepped forwards and pulled her sister in for a tight but reassuring hug. "I know you're worried but you gave me a chance to choose this myself. You don't know how much that means to me. I will keep up with school, I promise, I'm not gonna drop out of high school. I don't think Letty would even consider letting me work here if I did. The point of this is, I'm going to show you I can do both. If I get tired of street racing, I'll have my school stuff to back me up – and mom. You know she wouldn't let me choose cars over school. You had to prove it to her and I'm going to do the same. Plus, think of it this way: at least now you'll be able to keep an eye on me."

Brittany rolled her eyes. "Are you saying that you can't keep yourself out of trouble?"

"You know what I mean."

"I do. I'm not gonna change your mind on this am I?"

Abby shook her head with a smile. "No, not really – at least not yet anyway. Also, I'll get to see your super hot Latina girlfriend everyday." She grinned with a sly wink.

Brittany scrunched up her face in disgust and stuck her tongue out, hearing a loud laugh bellow from her sister's mouth. "Eww! You already have a girlfriend!"

"I know but you also know I love to tease you too! Now come on, Santana 'sexy pants' Lopez is waiting for you!" She called, already making her way back up the pathway to the porch.

Brittany's face scrunched up even more as she raced to catch up with her little sister, playfully slapping her around the back of the head.

"Hey, what was that for?!"

"Saying that my girlfriend was sexy! Only I can say that! It sounds weird coming out of your innocent mouth. Anyway, hands off, you have your own girlfriend!"

Abby rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. "Whatever big sis. You know I'm not innocent right? Just ask my girlfriend..." She smirked with another wink.

Brittany pretended to urge before her face turned semi-serious. "I mean it!"

"Yeah yeah!"

Brittany huffed as she followed her sister back into the living room where everybody was hanging out, rejoining Santana on the couch with a kiss to her cheek and a smile.

"Ok ok, settle down ladies." Letty said as the chatter of her crew that were stood around her slowly died down. "Now that the Evo and the GT500 are finished it still doesn't mean that we don't have work to do. In fact it means the exact opposite – we have more."

"Aw come on L, what could we possibly have to do now?" Dani asked, arms crossed over her chest with a raised eyebrow.

"The hard work is just beginning. We have to now make sure that we can drive these beasts. We need to learn to tame them if we're gonna have any chance of beating Cassandra and Puck at Race Wars, especially going up against the R8. We need to be prepared for the high level of tuning and performance if we're going to win and Cassandra isn't going to let us win that easily."

"Alright so how do we do learn to tame our cars?" Quinn asked, even though she knew her car wasn't ready quite yet.

Letty turned to Brittany and Santana. "Apparently these two say that they've got things covered so you'll have to wait on that sister."

"What do we do in the meantime?" Rachel inquired from her place beside Quinn.

"In the mean time I want you practising in the back streets away from prying eyes. When you get the chance I want you out in those cars low profile making sure that you at least get a feel for them until Santana and Brittany are ready to share with us what they have planned."

"Don't worry guys, me and Britt have it under control. We have something good planned for you, we're just working out the kinks."

"Yeah, rest assured that by the time we drive through the front gates at the abandoned airforce base on race day you'll have what you need to beat Puck and his crew, including Cassandra."

"It's nice to know you have so much faith in us." Dani remarked, gaining a slap from Kitty who had dropped by when Letty told her she was making an important announcement today. Kitty rolled her eyes at Dani's questioning look and smiled over at Santana, Brittany and Letty.

"I'm sure whatever it is you two have planned is going to blow our minds. As for Letty, I have faith that you'll keep everybody else primed and entertained until they're ready."

"Yes, and that starts right now. That's the reason why I called you all round. It involves Abby. Britt, could you call her to get over here?"

"Sure, she has the week off from school, I'm sure that she'll be able to come over right away."

"Good, then call her, I have some news for her."

10 Minutes later and everybody was watching as Abby pulled up into the yard in her Subaru. Cutting the engine she stepped out and cautiously approached the group where everybody was gathered, Holly, Shelby and Burt included.

"Hey guys." She greeted nervously, taking a place beside her sister.

"Hey Abby. As you can guess I called you here because I have some news for you. I've done some thinking, as you probably have too, and I've come to a decision as long as you're ok with it."

"Ok..."

"With Burt's permission, I would like to welcome you to the garage as a part-time learner mechanic for the rest of the crew. Once Race Wars is over your car will be the first project we work on. What do you think?"

Abby's face broke out into a grin and she nodded eagerly. "I'm so in!"

In return Letty smiled. "Good, I was hoping you would say that as I would have looked pretty stupid with this shirt lingering around the garage office."

Mia handed her girlfriend a light blue garage shirt that matched the one's that the rest of the crew were currently wearing. Abby's smile grew wider, if that were even possible, as she took said offered shirt from Letty. "Oh my God it has my name and everything!"

"Yeah, it also means 'when can you start?'"

"Right now!"

"Good, everybody welcome the new rookie!"

Everybody crowded around Abby and a group hug ensued as they welcomed their newest member. Of course, she wasn't an official crew member yet, that was a long way off, but at least this was a start and the crew was glad to have a fresh face in the garage to help get the final few cars finished in time for the big event.

Brittany smiled from a distance as she watched the rest of the crew a few minutes later individually welcoming her sister onto the team. "You know, seeing her so happy makes me happy and I know the rest of the crew are going to have her back when she needs it. I have to admit, it feels pretty good."

Santana nodded from her place beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist and feeling the blonde lean into her, her head coming to rest on her shoulder. "I'm glad you took a moment to see it from her point of view. I'm proud of you."

"It was in part thanks to you. You helped me see it this way. I may not be completely ok with it yet but I know in time I will be. Just...look out for her?"

"Of course, she's my girlfriend's sister, she's practically family. I've got her Britt, just like I've got you."

Brittany pulled away slightly so that she could look up at her face. "Aww." She cooed, pulling her in for a kiss.

"Ladies, to celebrate the new pit crew member there's a round of drinks at Kitty's tonight after work on me! Oh, and non-alcohol drinks for the rookie courtesy of me too!"

The round of cheers she got in response, Abby included, was the only confirmation she needed.
