There's No Way That's Hinata!
I do not own Naruto or any of the characters, but I do own the storyline!
Enjoy!
Chapter 14;
Hinata was feeling a bit better when she left the girls at the mall, it was nice to know that she wanted to be friends again. But she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to be friends with her again after all that happen. She'd give them a chance and that was it, they seemed truly sorry, well not all of them. If they want to be her friend they sure as hell have to work for it. especially Kiba and Naruto. But deep down she knew some good would come out of this, for now she'd enjoy her free time. She's been so busy over the past few years she really hasn't had time for vacation. Hanabi probably felt lonely and she felt sad that they didn't have a lot of time to spend together but with her last event for right now coming up she'd have time for her family and of course her friends. It's been a long day and she really felt like she needed some sleep. Tomorrow would be a huge day for her since she finally would graduate high school. As exciting as it would be, she still didn't know what she was going to do after. sure she was a idol now but what about after she retires? She didn't want to just lazy around the house living off her fortune with nothing to do. She wanted to work, but what job would satisfy her is the real problem.
Things were good right now and she didn't want to overload her brain with everything, so instead she readied herself for bed. It was a bit early but she did have a doctor's appointment in the morning before the ceremony so it was best to get some sleep. Lately she hasn't been feeling her best and it's gotten worse. There would be pain in her chest, and sometimes her vision would blur a bit. When she told her aunt it seem to worry her greatly, and that's why she herself was worried. Kurenai was never one to show to much emotion so when she saw this, it caught her off guard. For now she put it on the back burner until she had time off to go and get checked out, she also hid it from her friends and of course Hanabi. The last thing she wanted was for her little sister to be worrying about her. Sighing she fell on her bed burying her head in her pillows, she's also been tired lately no matter how much sleep she tries to get. It was pointless, so she learned to work on about three to four hours of sleep. Turning her head to the side she looked at the picture of her mother she had on her nightstand and smiled. It was a sad smile since she'd miss her very often. It was still very painful after all these years but she dealt with it, she had no choice. She did it all for Hanabi, and of course Kurenai.
Finally having enough of her own brain for one day she took her pills before getting under the covers and turning her lamp off. It was going to be a long day today and she just hoped she'd be able to sleep until morning. With that last thought she closed her eyes feeling the pills take her off deep into a dreamless sleep.
(Naruto)
He sat in his father's house drinking tea, since he was no longer allowed any type of alcohol. Not that he didn't sneak some here and there. Even though Kakashi knew about it as well, he just never said anything to him. He was waiting for his old man to get back from a meeting, he was lucky the meeting was being held in his house otherwise he would have never been able to find time. After waiting for what seems like forever he heard footsteps leading outside the house and then Kakashi walked through the door. He could see the man was tired, but even so he put a smile on his face. Well at least he thought it was a smile, he insisted on wearing a face mask. It was weird, even to him and he knew weird. He's seen some weird shit in his life and this was definitely one of them. But hey this man took him in when the whole world turned it's back on him. Kakashi wouldn't give up even if he kept telling him no. Truthfully in the beginning he honestly thought he was some kind of pedophile looking for kids to kidnap. A smile slowly spread on his face as he thought of how they first met. He was still in the organization and doing the governments dirty work.
He'd just finish one of his latest kills and was wasting time in a nearby dog park. Everyone that past him sneered at him or never even acknowledged his existence, he was just fine with that. Until someone sat down next him, that man being a younger Kakashi. He was annoyed that someone dared even get within a mile of his presence. So he ignored him as he started talking to him. Naruto remembered him following him some days, other days he'd been on that same bench waiting for him. He was really creeped out, but decided to leave him alone. Naruto didn't know why he let the man live, maybe deep down somewhere he liked that this man cared enough to check on him. Thought he knew it wouldn't last. One day Kakashi decided to find him after it was heard a gang war had broken out in his neighborhood. To bad he walked right in on Naruto 'doing his job'. Once his boss found out he had a witness he ordered Naruto to kill him. He was against it at first but decided to just get it over with, in the end he invited Kakashi to their park and strike him from the shadows.
Well at least he thought he did. It turned out that the man was an old time ninja. The Ninjas were a huge gang back in the day that was feared all throughout Japan. So he was pretty shocked when he couldn't win the fight, he's never lost until he met him. But being the kind hearted soul he is Kakashi couldn't kill a child, especially not one that reminded him of himself, so instead he gave him a chance. He had to work hard himself to make a normal life for himself. He didn't want that for him, so he offered him a place to stay if he ever got lonely and a helping hand when he needed one. Naruto thought he was just messing with him since no one has ever been nice to him. Well some would but in the end it was just to embarrass him, which didn't happen considering he didn't really care what others thought. The thought of a real friend was very foreign to him, he'd never had anyone who truly care about him so at first he didn't know how to act toward the man who spared his life. Kakashi stayed by him,no matter how hard he tried to get the man to leave him alone. They would get into fights but still he'd just nod and go back to one of his books. It was because he stayed that Naruto made a deal with his boss. He told him he'd work off his debt for his freedom. They were shock he even brought it up, since in the beginning all he wanted to do was kill. It brought him some type of joy. Now even though they were stationed under the government, it didn't change the fact that they were murderers. It took a lot of fighting to get the old man to agree to his terms and in the end he won his freedom. Well he thought anyway.
Naruto noticed him staring at him, then realized his was speaking.
"Sorry, what was that?" he asked taking a sip of his tea. He saw the fabric of Kakashi's mask moved and assume he scowled. He was always like that when he didn't listen.
"You should really start paying attention more. Just wanted to know why you dropped in on your old man he said taking a seat right across from him. Naruto shrugged and smiled.
"What a boy can't come and visit him father?" he joked leaning forward, he heard him chuckle.
"Of course you can, but normally you call first. Since you've just popped up, I assume you need help with something." he started, pouring himself a cup of tea, not that he'd see him drink it. He's never seen his face, not even when he was younger.
"You really know me all too well." he said before his face turned serious.
"But I do have a problem. And since we're pretty alike I thought to ask you for some advice." he added placing his cup down. Kakashi kept his calm faced nodding at his son.
"You know you can ask me anything, that's what I'm here for." he told him also placing his cup down. Naruto nodded his head, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Have you ever, you know wanted to go back into the business?" he asked still not opening his eyes, it was something he's never really talk to anyone about. Especially not Kakashi, there was no need for conversation since he quit and that was that.
"Hm, such an odd question to ask out of the blue. What brought this thought to mind son?" he questioned leaning back looking at Naruto's face. He finally opened his eyes and Kakashi could see pain in them, something he also knew to well about. Naruto spent the next twenty minutes explaining to his father all that went down the past few days. He even told him about the things happening between his friends and Hinata. At first Kakashi was silent.
"Well that does seem like a lot to go through. I think you handled it pretty well. You could have flew off the handle and reverted back to how you used to be but you didn't and that my boy shows just how much you have grown." he said seeing Naruto nod in agreement.
" But to answer your question, yes I have." he added watching the shock that flashed in his eyes. He knew Naruto to well, he'd never show his true emotions on his face. He was chuckling a bit since he knew this would be his reaction, just as everyone else who's heard the same from him. Everyone believed he was happy in his new life, which he was. But there were times he missed the old days where he was a bit wild and a lot younger.
"Now I know I may seem calm all the time, but it took me years to get to this point. I am very happy with the life that I lead now but sometimes I too have bad days and I wish I had that old outlet for my anger and sadness. The same feelings I'm sure you are feeling right now, but you mustn't go back." he told him standing to walk next to him. He placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled.
"It may seem tuff now, but you will make it through son. I know you can and you will." he stated, seeing him nod his head once again in understanding.
"Okay, but what if you have people from your old life that want you back at it again? What do you do then?" he questioned looking up to his father.
"You fight. You fight for the life that you basically had to kill to have. You've worked way to hard to have them drag you back. Just remember son you have a bright future and I know you'll be going far." he told he trying to stress how hard he worked.
"You will do fine as long as you know what you want, just remember why you made the choices you've made and that should keep you on track. I believe you will make the best choice." he added sitting back down. Naruto sat silently thinking over the advice he was just given. He knew Kakashi was right and he was sure he could make it through all this. But the temptation was pretty strong. He sighed scratching his head. He wasn't sure on how he was going to beat the temptation but he knew one thing for sure, he's fight to keep this life he's made for himself. Deciding not to think any further on things he turned back to his old man.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot to ask if you were going to show up tomorrow for my graduation?" he asked leaning back in his chair relaxing a bit. Kakashi closed his eyes to think for a bit. He normally did this when he thought over his schedules and such for the next few days.
"I just might have some time to stop in, but only if you don't mind me being late." he told him pouring another cup of tea for himself. Naruto felt himself smiling widely at the older man, no matter how busy he was he'd always make time for him.
"I don't mind since you're normally late byway." He joked standing to leave.
"Alrighty I'll see you there tomorrow. Make sure you rest up kid." He told him also standing to leave, after his long day at work he could really use a nap himself.
"Yeah yeah old man, it's really you who needs sleep. Goodnight dad." He spoke with a smile waving on his way out, he could hear Kakashi chuckling in the background.
He felt oddly refreshed since discussing things with his old man, normally they wouldn't speak on such things since it was in the past for both of them but it made him feel better knowing Kakashi would always be ready to talk. No matter what subject it was, and I guess he took a slight comfort in that. For so,e reason he knew tomorrow was going to be a good day.
"Okay let's do this." He whispered to himself while he was driving off home.
'Made it this far, not going to let anything stand in my way now.' Was the last thought running through his mind as he laid down that night for bed.
Graduation Day!
Everyone had gotten to the school pretty early so they could find where they would be going and where they'd be sitting for the ceremony. Naruto was no exception, he and his friends just arrived not to long ago and where already dressed in their co and gown ready to go.
"I can't believe we made it you guys!" Ino squealed excitedly while jumping up and down with Sakura, who was just as excited. She might not have looked like it, but she was incredibly smart. Close to a genius even, but she'd preferred to hide her talents in the end for a shot at popularity. Ino was not as smart but was a very hard worker when it came to her grades. Then there was ate ten who wasn't embarrassed of her intelligence and flaunted it, mostly because Neji always complimented on how smart she was. Neji of course being a little genius himself took great pride in her intelligence as well.
Sasuke never really cared for school though he was far from stupid himself. Kiba was the main one they worried about, since he was not the brightest in the bunch. Naruto knew his grades would carry him all the way to the top, but unfortunately he was a huge delinquent when he was younger, which almost caused him to fail. In the end he was happy that he made the effort to try. They werewolf standing behind the school before there were to be called to walk out when a limo pulled up. Everyone already knew that it was Hinatas, since she was the only one to take one to school from time to time. Naruto couldn't help but smile when she got out of the limo holding her cap in gown in one hand and waving with the other. Since she wasn't wearing her gown yet everyone could see the pale lavender strapless dress she had on, along with her nude heels. She could hear the whispers among her fellow classmates and blushed a bit. Maybe she should have worn a different to ignore the whispers she put her gown on then followed by her cap, by the time she was finished Naruto and his friends had walked over to great her.
"Hey Hinata, I see you made it on time." He joked scratching the back of his head. She just smiled.
"Yes, I just had some things to take care of before coming. I should probably find my spot." She told him looking around for a teacher.
"Don't worry, you'll be behind Sakura and in front of me." He told her patting her head like she was a small child. She couldn't do much to hold back the small blush that spread across her face. Sakura, Tenten, and Ino noticed this. Not that they were going to say anything while in front of the boys.
"T-thank you." She said removing his hand from her head and clearing her throat. At that time a teacher came to let them know the ceremony was starting and that they lol needed to form their lines. The students were rushing to find their spots. With everyone rushing around so,Rome bumped into Hinata, she lost her balance and started falling backwards. Lucky for her Naruto was standing close by and caught her before she collided with the ground. She looked up to come face to face with him, it took all her will power not to faint in that moment. He gave her a dazzling smile picking her up and putting her back on her feet.
"You need to be more careful Hina." He said taking her hand and leading her to their line, so she wouldn't get knocked over again. Hinata blushed at the contact they were making. Her face was heating up the longer she held his hand. When they got there he let go of her hand pushing her gently in front of him.
"Thank you," she mumbled little to embarrassed to look at him. He just laughed it off, and with that the ceremony started.
It was a pretty beautiful ceremony, everyone's family came to support them. When the called Hinata up she could hear her family cheering for her and almost cried. For some reason this moment felt the most touching for her, even after all the awards she's gotten with them there. Today just seemed a lot more special. Once Naruto was called the crowd was silent lol except Kakashi, who had made it on time to watch him graduate. He'd probably never say it out loud but he was great fun for having someone care enough to be there. The rest went on smoothly, there was a grand speech given by Neji since he was student council president and class representative. There were tears and cheers as the end of the ceremony had come. Everyone joined their families after to show them their diplomas and share in the joy. Hinata had been talking with her aunt while holding her sister when she heard a chilling voice.
"Well look at that you graduated." Hinata turned around to face the man who dared call himself her father. There he stood with his wife, along with some security.
"It would have been nice if you had invited your father." He added keeping his voice cold and even. Chills ran down her spin but she didn't show it. Kurenai stepped in front of her nieces in a defensive stance.
"What do you want Hishi?" She asked with just as much ice in her voice. Hiashi just smiled snapping his fingers for one of his guards to hand her a letter. She looked down at it then back to him.
"A letter, you could have just sent it in the mail jackass." She told him glaring at him while opening the envelope. He said nothin while watching her read over the paper whit her eyes widening.
"You got to be fucking kidding me. You're suing me? For what?" She snapped glaring harder at him.
"Simple, one for assault. And two you've kept my children from me for to long, consider yourself served." He stated causing everyone to go silent.
"You're kidding me?" She said looking back over the paper work.
"I am not, I told you I'd be back. But this time I'm taking back what rightfully belongs to me." He told her. Everyone stood in shock including Hinata.
'No!'
