There' No Way That's Hinata!

I do not own the characters used, I do own the storyline!

(Just a small warning for this chapter there will be a lot of made up medical stuff, since I myself know absolutely nothing about being a doctor or the type of diseases are out there. So that being said I just made up my own.)

Enjoy!

Chapter; 16

Two days had past since Hinata had enjoyed herself at the lake with everyone. She had to admit that she was nervous about being around them but it turned out to be pretty good. She really enjoyed their company after such a long time but that still wasn't enough. She really wanted to be friends again but the main point was that she felt she could never trust them again. Sighing she sat up, she was trying to take a small nap but it just didn't seem to be working for her right now. She still wasn't feeling much better, although she went to see her doctor not to long ago she felt like she should go back again. Well more like her aunt wanted her to go back just in case. But Hinata knew there wasn't much her doctor could do for her until they got her results back. Which wouldn't be for another couple of days, well for some of them anyway. But just to make her aunt feel better she said she'd stop by today.

Hanabi wanted to go out with her new friends today so she was free anyway. Having nothing better to do she decided to hit the mall for a bit after her doctor's appointment. She rubbed her face, it really didn't help she still had to finish the last of the preparations for her fan meet. The first one was in a few days and she had to finish it. But today she'd have to relax, especially with her feeling so tired. Dragging herself out of bed she took another shower before she got dressed and went out. Letting Temari and Matsuri that were busy with their own scheduling that she'd return later. She just hoped the appointment didn't keep her for to long. After arriving to her doctor's office she waited until she was called in. While she was going through her emails on her cell her doctor came out personally to get her.

"Hinata." she said smiling at her. Hinata smiled back and followed her into the office.

"Dr. Welki, how are you?" she asked sitting down in front of the large desk in the room. Dr. Welki sighed but smiled again.

"I'm fine, the same as when I saw you last week." she laughed sitting in her own chair and pulling out Hinata's paper work.

"Sorry, I know you just saw me but you know how my aunt is. She'd never let me do anything unless I came back to see you." she told her relaxing into the chair. She'd had a different doctor when she was in both America and South Korea. So to finally have a doctor she was familiar with was nice. She trusted Dr. Welki because she was also her mother's doctor when she was still alive. She would travel all over just to help her mother and for that she was very grateful. She noticed how her doctor's smile fell while she read over some of the work she did get back.

"Is something wrong?" she asked holding her hands closed to her body. She used to do this every time she was nervous or scared when she was younger. One thing that never went away. Her doctor put the charts down in front of her so she could see herself. After scanning over the charts she felt her blood run cold. With shaking hands she placed them back on the desk.

"W-what dose this mean doctor?" she asked trying to calm her now racing heart beat. Dr. Welki stood to comfort her.

"I'm sorry to say this Hinata, but it looks like you have Chronic Sim Syndrome." ( pause just know that this is a made up illness for my story) she told her holding onto her hand. Hinata sat silent.

"I-is it the same thing my mother had?" she asked tightening her grip.

"I-I'm afraid so, I'm so sorry honey." Dr. Welki said dropping down to hug her. She sat there trying to rack her brain on what she was just told. She wasn't to shocked about the news considering they told her mother tons of times that her illness could be passed down once she had children. But it was still painful to hear. She could feel the tears that started staining her cheeks. She could also feel the warmth of the hug she was receiving, but right now she just didn't feel like returning it. Her doctor let her go and leaned back to look her in the eyes.

"Don't worry hon, I am going to do everything I can to help you through this." she told her holding onto her shoulders. Hinata nodded trying to wipe her tears.

"So w-what does this mean? What's going to happen to me?" she asked softly taking out a tissue. Dr. Welki stood to gather her charts again.

"Well the illness is in a later stage then I thought, so it will take a bit more to handle it. But for now just look out for fatigue, chest pains, headaches. You might also suffer from body aches, hot flashes, and of course dizziness. I'll call you when I have some medications for you. But the bigger issues I'm worried about are strokes and heart attacks." she said sitting back down. Hinata just nodded numbly, she still could not believe this.

"So with the way things are now, I could very well end up like my mother?" she questioned finally stopping her tears. She could see the pain cross Dr. Welki's face. She was very much aware of that fact that she was her mother's closest friend right after her aunt Kerunai.

"Yes, but I will not let that happen. I swear to you that I will not let it get that far." she told her with the most serious face she's ever seen her hold.

"I regret not being able to save your mother but I will not fail you too." she told her balling up her hands. Hinata could see the pain and regret she's held for so long.

"Please don't think like that. My mother was able to live the rest of her days in peace because of you. You didn't fail her, in fact I believe you gave her more than anyone else could." she said patting her shoulder. Dr. Welki looked up to her and sighed.

"I-I know but sometimes it feels like I could have done more for her." she said more to herself then out loud. Hinata held a small smile.

"I trust you, more than you know." she told her before giving her a hug.

"I think I should take some time before telling the rest of my family, so I'm going to go." she said grabbing her purse and cell before stopping at the door.

"But just remember, you never gave up. And that was the one thing my mother never forgot." she smiled and waved by. She could hear Dr. Welki's small hiccups from the other side of the door but she kept going. Hinata felt like this was something she needed to do on her own.

Hinata kept herself together just long enough to get to her car before she completely fell apart. She could not believe this was happening. Dr. Welki was very talented and she knew she wouldn't stop until she saved her. But deep down inside she was sure that this illness was going to take her just like it took her mother. That she could probably deal with, but just knowing that it was going to take another person from her little sister Hanabi was killing her. She wasn't sure how she was going to deal with this. How the hell was she going to tell her aunt? Her friends? And Hanabi!? It was all too much to think about right now. So instead she just cried, she cried harder than she's ever cried in her life. So far that was all she thought to do. So it's all she did, for the next ten minutes she cried non stop. Hoping it would somehow make it better. Make it go away. Though in her mind she knew neither was going to happen, and that made her cry harder.

So this was what it was like to find your end. And that's exactly what this was going to be, her end.

Meanwhile

Naruto decided he'd go out to the gym since he was feeling pretty good. Something was nagging him in the back of his head though and he could not figure it out. But for right now he'd live in the moment since this moment made him for amazing. Who knew being around such a positive person like Hinata for a few hours could make him feel this good. He whistled to himself walking down the street back to his apartment, when the feeling he was bent followed washed over him. Turning around he didn't see anything but years in the business taught him never to trust your eyes, before he could react there was a sharp pain in his neck. His hand shot up grabbing his attacker by the wrist only too lose feeling in his arms.

"What the fuck!" He screamed looking at the guy who stabbed him. He could recognize him a little through the fog over his eyes. He was a new recruit with him back in the old days, his named escaped him right now but he did remember him. The guy wasn't really cut out for the hard life that was ahead of them back then.

"You.." Naruto started but things became black fast and next thing he knew he was floating in the dark abyss that was his mind. A place he hated to be in the first place, it was a twisted place that he'd do everything to avoid. But on occasions he'd go there if needed.

'What the hell?' He said looking around the dark space that was his mind. Hearing a growl he turned around to face the cage that haunted his dreams as a child. The cage that held his demon, the demon that killed his parents and devoured his soul. The very same demon who became apart of him, the demon he has now become.

"Well if it isn't the little ungrateful kit." The fox said grinning, causing Naruto to shudder.

"Been a long time since you've come to visit me, what do I own the pleasure?" He joked licking his clawed paws laughing. Naruto rolled his eyes.

'You know damn well I'd never come to see you willingly.' He said annoyed with the fox already.

"So cold! You think you'd be grateful to the demon that saved your life." He said laying his head near the entrance of the cage. Naruto ignored him walking closer to the cage.

'Yeah, yeah. You always say that, maybe you should have just let me die. Then you'd be free to do whatever you wanted.' He told him slowly opening the cage. The demon looked him in the eyes. Before laughing.

"Then it wouldn't have been as much fun." He told him inching his way further out of the cage to meet him head on.

"Is that all you care about is how much fun it is to fuck with my life?" Naruto asked taking a seat next to the fox demons head. He could see the fox grin widely at him.

"Of course what else would I be able to do, I'm stuck in your body after all." He added resting his head while Naruto petted him.

'I guess. You know it's funny how things have changed over the years.' He said more to his self, knowing his demon would answer.

"It really is, you used to hate me and fear me. No look at us closer than ever!" He joked rolling to his side, Naruto just ignored him for now.

'You know when I wake up we're probably going to have to fight for our life right?' he spoke looking up at his demon. The fox gave him one of his normal crazed grins before speaking.

"That's what we were born for kit. No denying that." Naruto sighed before standing, he could feel himself regaining consciousness.

'True, I was a child of death. Guess it's time to show them why.' He said as a white light washed over his conscious.

"Then let's give 'em a show." His demon said right before they became one.
