Kasane x Kuranosuke

Part Three

"As if I could sleep like that…"

Kuranosuke sluggishly sighed as he drank up cold water from the castle well.

He was a guy after all.

As if he could peacefully sleep while a woman sleeps defenselessly beside him.

Just how that idiot woman could happily fall asleep like that made him even more pissed off.

That peaceful face of hers meant that she thought it'll be alright; he'll never lay hands on her.

"Haa…."

At this rate he'll be staying up all night…

Kuranosuke gave out a heavy sigh.

Just as he turned to return to his room, he suddenly felt a tug at his sleeve.

"! ! ?"

As he turned his head in surprise, he found Kasane standing there.

"Y-you, why? I thought you were asleep."

Trying to quell his tremors, he feigned his composure.

"When I woke up… Kuranosuke-san wasn't there."

"Wasn't there…"

Not a lot of time had passed since he left his room.

"I-I was scared to be alone so I went to look for you…"

Seeing her bashfully say that, Kuranosuke suddenly thought of her as adorable, to which her furiously shook his head at.

N-no, this is that idiot woman, you know! Get a grip of yourself, me! !

"A-alright, stop tugging my clothes!"

"I-I'm sorry."

Kasane hurriedly released his sleeve.

"Le-let's head back."

Making sure to make eye contact to her, he lead the way to his room.

Truthfully, it made him feel strange when Kasane began following after him.

"Huh~? Kura and Katane?"

Hearing a voice from behind, the pair jumped into the air.

"Inuchiyo…? What are you doing this late at night?"

"I was kinda hungry~. What are you guys doing here?"

With his words hitting right on the mark, Kuranosuke began to fret.

If Inuchiyo learned of them sleeping together tonight, the whole news will spread throughout the castle the next morning.

He had to prevent that from happening no matter what.

"Ah, that's I went over at Kuranosuke's room and-."

"We just happened to meet! !"

Kuranosuke hurriedly interrupted at Kasane began to explain the whole story.

"We just happen to meet up coincidentally! Right! ! ?"

"...Y-...yeah…"

As he scowled at her, Kasane made a troubled expression and then forcefully nodded.

"Hu~m."

It seems that Inuchiyo took little interest on the subject and only hummed in response.

"Inuchiyo! Right now! Whatever you saw here, you better not tell anybody! !"

Kuranosuke edged up to Inuchiyo and gave him a frightful look.

Inuchiyo blinked at this unusually desperate state of Kuranosuke.

"This is a man's promise! Can you do that! ?"

"O, ou! It's a man's promise! !"

Inuchiyo cluelessly matched up to Kuranosuke's words.

"You shouldn't be eating midnight snacks either, go back to sleep."

"Yep! G'night Kura! Katane!"

With a wide smile, he waved back at them as the pair left.

"That goes to you too, you better not say anything about sleeping with me tomorrow! I don't know what kind of rumors will come out afterwards."

"You might be right about that. I didn't think about it…."

She gave him an ashamed smile as Kuranosuke crept into the covers.

He'll just have to endure for one night.

It's best not to lose his head at every little matter.

Just as she came in afterwards, he felt something soft touch him. He jumped up in surprise.

"W-what!?"

"Ah, sorry. It's a bit cramped in here…"

Indeed since the futon was originally just for one person, it was very narrow. Truthfully, even though they were small themselves, they could barely fit together on the cushion.

"...T-then be careful!"

Suppressing his roaring heartbeat, he scowled Kasane.

If this happens again throughout the night, his body won't last.

"S-sorry…"

She apologized once more at his indignant condition.

"...Geez! You're really a shameless woman!"

Trying to hide his unrest, he accused Kasane.

"...!"

"Besides, you've always done something like this…."

"...Kuranosuke-san is gentle."

As Kuranosuke began to complain, Kasane interrupted him with an unexpected reply.

"...Ha?"

Unable to understand her words, Kuranosuke turned his head towards her.

"You say what you want, yet you still listen to my request. And although you usually complain, you still look after me."

"T-that's! ...Because Nobunaga-sama ordered me to!"

"Even so, you're still gentle Kuranosuke-san."

She gave him a carefree smile.

Once he caught on to her smiling expression, Kuranosuke immediately turned bright red.

"...! Don't talk nonsense and go to sleep!"

Kuranosuke yelled while turning his back away from her once more.

He didn't ever want to show the pathetic expression he made right there, especially to that woman.

"Yeah, Thank you for today. Good night, Kuranosuke-san."

"...Night."

In a tiny voice in which Kasane could almost audibly hear, he curtly replied back one word.
