Sensing a human presence nearby, Nobunaga's eyes snapped open.

In this warring period, they always had to be light sleepers.

Even if it's only a faint presence, you have to wake up; you can't fall into a deep sleep.

The presence behind the door spoke.

"It's me, Kanjuro, Aniue."

"Nobuyuki…"

Nobunaga narrowed his eyes and allowed him to enter.

"The doctor has arriv… hm? Aniue, that girl is…"

At Nobuyuki's inclination, Nobunaga then remembered Kasane's presence.

Just below his eye level, he found her peacefully sleeping.

It seems that while she fell asleep while attending to him.

"..."

Which means that she was here the whole time.

That also reminded him that he had no memory of what occurred after he stopped her from leaving.

He couldn't believe that he fell asleep in front of someone.

Was he just caught off guard because of the cold?

"She nursed me. Though it seems she retired from that role and went off to sleep."

"Shall I wake her up?"

Nobunaga hesitated at Nobuyuki's suggestion.

"...No, leave her be."

"Ha…"

With perplexed eyes, Nobunaga glanced down at the sleeping Kasane.

"Then the doctor…"

"There's no need. I'm fine."

Nobunaga disinterestedly refused. Nobunaga widened his eyes.

"Eh?"

"I'm going back to sleep, leave."

With that said, Nobunaga laid down once more.

"H-however, Aniue…"

"Nobuyuki. Don't make me repeat myself."

Just as Nobuyuki began to protest, Nobunaga closed off his argument in an instant.

"...Very well."

Unable to do anything else except follow his brother's orders, Nobunaga only nodded in agreement.

"Then this girl…"

Thinking that Kasane might get in the way of his brother's sleep, Nobuyuki began to reach over to wake her up.

"I believe I've told you to leave her be,"

Nobunaga irritatedly said in a tone that underlined, 'Don't make me repeat myself.' Nobuyuki gave up.

"...I apologize. Very well. Then Aniu, excuse me."

Bringing the doctor along with him, he then left the room.

As soon as their presence disappeared, Nobunaga stared down at the slumbering Kasane.

She's completely deep asleep.

In a man's room.

In the first place, wasn't she the one who said that she would wake him up if the doctor arrived?

….Well, not that it mattered anyway.

He was just absolutely astounded by how defenseless Kasane was as she slept on without a single worry.

Alone with a man, in his chambers, not to mention at a time where the sun was setting in the sky.

It was a situation where she shouldn't complain if something were to happen.

However, seeing her peacefully snoozing away made him care less about that.

"I guess I can take another short sleep..."

Pulling her, he placed her under the covers next to him.

It's not cold, but if she goes on sleeping like this without anything on her, she would surely make his mistake.

Now that he thought about it, he didn't do anything today.

So for the entire day, he spent time with this woman?

"...Not bad."

Tomorrow, he must prepare himself to relive in this war torn world.

But these rare days are not bad, Nobunaga concluded as he closed his eyes.

With the girl carefreely snoozing beside him, he strangely felt tired and left his body into a comfortable sleep.

"Why am I sleeping in Tono-sama's futon!?"

"Who cares."

"It's not good! Y-you didn't do anything, right…?"

"...As if I'll lay hands on a brat like you. I'll have you say that after it comes out.*"

"Hitting the mark at what I'm sensitive about?! So horrible…! !"

"Hmph, for it to be straight as a cutting board at your age… It's pretty miraculous."

**It's a phrase in Japan. Pretty much it means that when a married couple have a silly fight, the others don't need to worry about anything / get into their affair. So bottom line, don't interfere a lover's quarrel.

It's nice to see this side of Nobunaga once in a while. It gives us a different perspective of him, even though he's still his tyrannical self. I shall see if I can upload the next story soon. So until then, I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable day!
