Chapter 8: Mission of fun

Last Time:
When it was getting closer to sundown, the group found a decent sized clearing and declared they stopped for the night. That need the girls fight as everyone prepared for camp. Collecting firewood, stones, and anything else needed. Different groups went to do each task, Jounin accompanying each group. Once fish was caught and a fire started, mission food was getting cooked as everyone either laid out sleeping bags, sat down, or got ready for sleeping so they could go straight to bed after dinner. After a few minutes, a call was heard by Kurenai, "Dinner!" Everyone gathered around and begun to eat after thanking Kurenai and Sango for the meal they cooked. When everyone was finished, they put the earth made bowls in a pile and most were beginning to stand up. "Well if it isn't all the princesses?" Stopped everyone, no matter what they were doing. Everyone turned to see had spoken, and the Genin girls could have sworn they recognised the person who spoke. The person stepped into the light and revealed-

(Unknown person POV)
I was currently walking off to check on a few things when a fire light in a clearing caught my eye. A silently walked to the edge, well hidden and silent, as I looked in. I nearly fell on my back in shock. They were there, the princesses. Not one or two, but all six of them. Nestled into a cosy clearing eating. Briefly looking at the Jounin, they appeared to be on a mission. Leaf Shinobi. Akatsuki would not be happy about this. Oh and look, the Kyuubi brat as well. All in one group. Actually, looks like Christmas came early for the Akatsuki. Putting a smirk on my face, I boldly but calmly said, "Well if it isn't all the princesses?" As all heads turning towards my direction, I step out to reveal myself. From here I could tell I was recognised by the girls somehow, strange though since they were quite young when they were taken…
(Kakashi's POV)
This person, man, suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I didn't detect any interferences around us, until the man with silver hair with purple tips, spoke out. Definitely not a civilian or a low ranking Shinobi. The big question I have, and possibly all the other Jounin as well, why speak out when the possibility of being overpowered and worse, was high? And how did he know the girls if he didn't appear to be a Konoha Shinobi and the girls haven't gone passed the village gates till now…
I whipped out a couple kunai, and watched the others do the same, as I lifted my head to speak to the stranger. "Who are you and what business do you have with our girls?" And for my trouble, all I got was a deep chuckle and a shake of the head.
"My name, learn it cause you'll be needing to use it often, it is Sting… Inu." Sting Inu, what an unusual name. Inu, Inu… why does that sound familiar… "What my business is with 'your' girls is not something you shall be knowing until the time is right." With those words, the Shinobi turned to glance at the girls and briefly landed on Naruto before he turned an walked back the way he came and disappeared without a trace.
(TenTen POV)
"Princess?! I'm no princess! That guy clearly had no idea what he was talking about. I haven't even see him before. Have any of you girls?" Each girl gave a shake of their head as their answer. That guy, he just came out, caused a confusion, then just up and left! And what did he mean we'll be using his name often and 'when the time was right'? I hope we won't be seeing him anytime soon…
(Sango POV)
I let out a sigh of relief and of a breath I didn't realise I was holding, while putting my kunai and shuriken back in the holster and pouch. Looking around at everyone, and seeing their tired and perplexed faces, I decided to call it a night and get everyone ready for bed. There were a few grumbles of disapproval, but in the end they all did as told and didn't put up a fight.
After about twenty minutes of a mass of movement of putting everything away and cleaned, and changed, it was all silent as everyone laid down to sleep. I took the first watch, just preferring to gaze out into the stars and it being all peaceful. I kept a good eye on the surrounding area as I sat up in a tree, which provided great surveillance coverage.
(Kakashi POV)
As I watched everyone get ready for bed and Sango go up in the tree, I kept thinking about that man as I laid down. His last name was one I heard before but couldn't remember. Something kept nagging at my mind to remember but I pushed it to the back of my mind so I could get some sleep before it was my turn to go on watch. It wasn't until I was almost asleep that my eyes shot wide open in realisation. 'INU! From the Land of Flowers, Sakuragakure. Main clan of Sakura! The very land where the princesses birthday, the very one they were guarding on this mission, was bordering on!' Why I had a bad feeling now about this mission, was confusing me. I knew now though that we would need to keep a very good eye on the kids and princess.
(Time Skip: Early Morning)
(No ones POV)
Everyone woke up about the same time, so breakfast, getting ready, and actually waking up was a whole huge ordeal. There were a few bumps here or there and even a mini fight/glare once or twice (coughSakura and Inocough), but everyone managed to safely sit down to eat breakfast.
The fish, various amounts of edible plants, and bits of food that was in the packs, were all eaten up with haste as everyone wanted to get the mission started. Though, haste was not a word to describe Lee and Gai, whom both had an eating competition and now were trying to get over their indigestion without anyone noticing. Too bad they weren't being too 'subtle' about it.
(In an unknown location)
(Unknown POV)
I was just sleeping away in my spot I like, when I felt it. A disturbance -in the Force- (just kidding), a few people had just crossed into my lands. And these people weren't just any people, otherwise I wouldn't have had felt it. So, I nudged my humans' consciousness and told him exactly what and who I felt. He would want to have that bit of information to play with.
(Time Skip: Week or so later)
(Kurenai's POV)
After a little while of traveling through the land of Rivers, then the Land of Wind, and lastly the Land of Desert, they finally reached the Land of Flowers border. We were stopped to be checked by the border patrol and after a little while, we were set off in the right direction. I felt a weird change in the atmosphere, but it felt both safe and like a loaded spring, ready to release when needed. I spotted two civilian guards that had the Flower Daimyō symbol on them. Seems they were there to escort them and make sure they got to the estate where the party was held at.
As we were walking, Naruto spoke up and questioned why didn't Sakuragakure just send their own Shinobi to the party. All the Genin nodded, agreeing with the question as well. I turned to Naruto, but spoke to all. "The lord and his family whom are hosting this party, are directly on the border of both Land of Flowers, and Land of Metal. Both lands will send one Shinobi each, but they need guards who are allied to them, or at least not enemies. That way, no fighting about Shinobi not being allowed in the neighbouring land." Once I finished speaking, everyone either nodded in understanding, or just looked to understand. (Hope everyone understood that _)
After more talking, we all arrived and stood waiting for the lord to show himself. After a couple of minutes, and Kaminari and Naruto's groaning it was taking too long, a man appeared in the doorway. He looked to be in his late forties, dressed in formal fancy Kamishimo*. Not too extravagant to be royal type, but not too plain as to be considered lower-class, just the perfect attire that didn't flaunt their status. He had navy blue hair that had half falling down his back, straight, with the rest in a small bun on the top of his head, calm light brown eyes and tanned skin. He introduced himself as Lord Hayato and proceeded to let us in.
(Lord Hayato's POV)
I bowed a little as introduction and welcome, and got their scroll off them which had all the details, to prove they were the ones sent. Once I had confirmed they were, I let them all in and showed them around, unusual for a lord, but I liked doing it. After showing them around and introducing them to everyone they needed to know, I called a servant to show them to their rooms so they can rest and freshen up before dinner. The party would not be held until the next day, and that would be when both the Sakura Shinobi arrives and the Mine Shinobi. I hope they send civilised Shinobi, and not huge ones either.
After everyone was freshened up, we were all seated in the special dining table, reserved for events like this or birthdays. I was seated at the head of the table with my wife, Mayuri, seated on my right. She was in her mid forties, with a calm face on. Her hair was pale blond, and with it wrapped into a neat bun/roll of sorts at the base of the neck, decorated all along the top with simple ornaments. Her eyes were pale green, and her skin fair and undamaged. The kimono she was wearing, it's base colour was lit grey, with cherry blossom petals floating on gentle breeze, which was light blue in colour.
Next was my daughter, Zuri, and the one who's 13th birthday was tomorrow, whom was sitting beside her mother. She had light brown eyes with bits of green in them, and blonde hair which was put into a very loose plait down her back, ending in the middle of the back. Her kimono consisted of pale pink base and light green swirled around the bottom of the skirt and sleeves.
Lastly, my first born son, Akito, in his mid teens, was seated to my left. Bearing his mothers pale green eyes and my navy blue hair, which was chopped short and in his usual messy fashion. His attire consisted of a light blue hakama pants and grey-blue kimono top.
Then after my son was seated in order: Neji, Tenten, Shino, Amaya, Sasuke, Shika, Sakura, Naruto, Kakashi, Sango.
After my daughter was seated: Ino, Kiba, Shakaku, Kaminari, Lee, Hinata, Chouji, Asuma, Kurenai. With Gai at the other end of the table.

And that was how we sat, ate, and talked to each other. After everyone was finished, we all retired to our rooms for the night, getting rest for the big day that was following.

(No ones POV)
Meanwhile in Konoha, there was another meeting in the dark with the cloaked figures. "The subjects are all on a mission, and nowhere near any of the known bases. However, there is a rumour that Sakuragakure might be allied with the Akatsuki. If that does turn out to be the case, we have a major problem on our hands." One of the cloaked figures stated before standing up. Half way to the exit, the figure stopped and turned around to look at the other one sitting at the table "You're Hokage currently, do something about it."
The figure that was still sitting at the table 'hmed' before speaking "I'm on it! Just keep the real Hokage out of commission so he doesn't ruin our plan." And with that, the meeting was over with, unknowing to the whole world that there was one.
Hello dears~! Sorry it's been awhile, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a short chapter and it was exciting enough. So here it is *winkwink* also, because I get asked this a lot, no it's not the sting from fairy tail, same first name yes, totally different person.

*Kamishimo: An outfit which included a formal kimono, hakama, and a sleeveless jacket with exaggerated shoulders called a kataginu.
