Disclaimer: Even though I'm in California, it's my house that's freezing. I swear it doesn't make any sense. I hope you're all warm in your homes (or not burning if you're in the southern hemisphere).

It Must Be A Mistake

Kasane x Nobunaga

Part Two

"..."

Nobunaga raised a brow at the spectacle.

"Thereー!"

"Ahahaha! So coldー."

"Y-you little! You hit me!?"

"Hahaha, I'm glad you're all energeticー."

Gorouza joined in as the usual group were starting off a snowball fight.

He took a sip of tea out of a piping hot cup as he gazed Kasane and the others playing outside.

Kasane and Inuchiyo were having a snowball fight, as Inuchiyo was throwing snow in all directions some of the strays hit Kuranosuke, who began to throw back in mighty vengeance.

"...What are you doing."

Nobunaga's brow creased.

Kasane owlishly glance at him, startled by his presence.

"Huh? Tono-sama."

Kasane already had a good complexion before, but due to the cold her cheeks were redder than before.

"We're playing in the snow. Since there's a lot of snow around!"

"..."

She smiled benevolently while Nobunaga frowned.

"We wouldn't be able to do the laundry in this weather."

Gorouza told Nobunaga.

He spared a glance at Gorouza, but returned his attention to Kasane and others.

"What about cleaning the castle."

"I've already finished!"

"...Meal preparations."

"Done already!"

"Feeding the horses."

"That's all good!"

"Shoveling the snow and caring the garden."

"Uh…!"

Nobunaga went off ticking down her chores and she smoothly answered each one until this exchange ended with the last sentence.

"...If you wish to play, you must finish your chores."

"Uuu…"

Ending this conversation with a slam, Kasane became teary-eyed.

As she slumped her back, the two antennas on her head copied her movements.

"Then I'll go back to work…"

"Eehー!"

Kasane said with a darkened expression.

Inuchiyo reacted with an openly disappointed expression on his face.

"Nobunaga-sama, isn't this fine? The snow isn't piling up for the time being, so it wouldn't hurt to give Kasane-dono some free time."

"..."

Nobunaga spared a glance at Kasane.

Catching his gaze, Kasane looked up to him with pleading eyes.

Seeing her in that state, he furrowed his brow and snorted out a 'hmph'.

"...Only this time."

"Yay!"

Hearing that Kasane jumped up in happiness.

Inuchiyo also cheerfully celebrated along with her as he heard Nobunaga give out his permission.

"However, I'm also joining in."

"Eh."

Shocked by this unexpected condition, Kasane looked at him.

The others, unable to believe that he would join in the fun, incredulously glanced at him.

"What's up with your faces, it's like someone pinched you by the nail. You're having a battle right? Then why didn't you make the the battle camps?"

With his bare hands, he scooped up a wade of snow and rounded it into a ball before facing Kasane.

Having a bad feeling, Kasane felt her instincts telling to back away.

"...What?"

"A snow fight…"

As Kasane fearfully questioned him, Nobunaga lightly snorted.

"Is like this!"

"Buh…!"

Nobunaga aimed the snowball at Kasane and hurled it into her face.

With his accurate aim, it slammed right into her face with a hard splat.

With the coldness spreading across her face, Kasane hurriedly wiped the snow away.

"W-what was that for… you cheater~...!"

Filled with vexation, she showered her sarcasms to Nobunaga.

However Nobunaga remained indifferent to those words and with a cool expression, feigned ignorance.

"I angry nowー! I won't hold back to even Tono-sama! I hope you don't underestimate a winterland countryman!"

Kasane began to scrape up snow with both hands, making a large ball before throwing it to Nobunaga.

However, Nobunaga easily dodged it and hurled another snowball at Kasane.

"Aau."

With another ball splattered across her face again, she lost her balance and toppled over.

As she fell, her back it the tree behind her.

"Eh...? Wait, Gyaー!"

The tree shook and all the snow that piled on its branches fell down onto her, covering her whole body in the process.

As she has a small body, she was crushed by the blanket of snow.

"Uuu…"

"..."

Embarrassed and miserable under the snow, she grumbled out in a small voice.

To think that such a comic book-like outcome would happen to her.

Dumbfounded by this turn of events, the others could only blankly stare; it was Nobunaga who unexpectedly broke the silence.

"Hahaha! Such a slow-witted fellow."

"M-my lord!?"

As he laughed in an unusually loud voice, the three idiots faced him in surprise.

Kasane also gazed at him in the same reaction.

"You three shouldn't be so careless either or you'll suffer."

After his big laugh at Kasane's defeat, he turned his attention to the three to the three idiots with an evil smile.

The three idiots began to feel cold sweat draining down their faces.

With a grin and a laugh he threw a snowball at them with all his might.

Fearing the damage that would occur from their merciless lord, the three idiots ran away without a single glance back at him.

"Hmph, gutless rescals."

"..."

Nobunaga boredly spat out.

He then looked at Kasane, who was still in the same position under the snow.

She dumbly glanced up at him.

"There, get up. Do you want to catch a cold."

"T-...thanks…"

Nobunaga roughly pulled her up by the arm and pulled her up.

Stuttering out her thanks, she then wiped out the excess snow on her own.

"Hmph."

"H-huh? You're going already?"

It seemed that he was beginning to head back to his room, but without thinking, she called him back.

Noticing she had said that, she frantically held back her tongue.

She felt embarrassed as it sounded as if she didn't want him to leave.

"...Are you thinking of having a snowball fight with only two people?"

He glanced down at her from the corner of his eye.

Without knowing, she felt the cold sweat pouring down her brow from his gaze.

"U-um… but… w-well…"

Fidgeting, she felt her face becoming hot from her stutters.

Somehow she was trying to come up with an excuse for not letting him leave.

"...?"

Nobunaga frowned at her strange actions.

"Snowman…"

"...Ha?"

"A snowman! If you'd like we could made one… something like that…"

At first she started off strongly, but it grew weaker at the end.

She was an idiot. Of course he wouldn't stay for such a reason.

"N-no! Nevermind, forget it!"

Suddenly feeling a bout of embarrassment, Kasane began to leave.

But at the same time, she felt something pull her back.

"Tono...sama?"

Dumbfoundedly, she glanced up.

Nobunaga had grabbed onto her arm to hold her in place.

"I dislike incompleteness. If we're going to make one, we might as well do it all to the end."

He curtly said while Kasane's eyes grew round.

Taking into consideration of his words, Kasane faintly blushed as she gave him a smile.

Sometimes I wonder why I didn't post this during Christmas... I really wonder why... but well there's no point in finding a time machine right?

I've never been hit by a snowball before, but I have face-planted myself into snow, cuz I'm just clumsy, and it sure is cold. But pleasant as the same time. I'm glad this is my last year in Indiana for the winter, while the snow is nice, the cold wind sure isn't agreeable! The next chapter is short (not as short as the first part) so I'll be able to upload it by tonight. So until then, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe day.
