Language of the Flowers
Kasane x Nobunaga
Part One
"As usual you're up early my lord."
Nobunaga silently gazed up to the gentle voice.
"Gorouza."
Nobunaga confirmed the owner of the voice and called out the name in an uninterested tone.
"Haha… I apologize that I'm not Kasane-dono."
"Why does that woman have to appear there."
He unpleasantly frowned at Gorouza's words.
"Just a hunch."
Nobunaga became displeased by the man's usual aloof tease.
"Kasane-dono seemed to be very busy cleaning the castle, so she couldn't keep me company."
"Don't bother people when they're working."
"That's why I'm here with you my lord. I'm sure Inuchiyo and Kuranosuke are still asleep."
"I have no interest in accompanying you while you idle away your time."
Seeing him in a bad mood, Gorouza ambiguously smiled.
"Oh my… the sakura is in bloom. It's though it's already out of season."
Gorouza glanced out into the garden.
Out in the yard he saw the trees flowering out of the season.
"Hmph."
Nobunaga nonchalantly snorted.
This man wasn't the type of lord that loved flowers like his younger brother.
It might be because he's a neat freak, but it's mostly because he hated sloven things.
He still has the sensitivity to understand what's beautiful, but he didn't show any behavior of loving them.
Truth be told, his master was extremely inexperienced with women.
The only and most intense story was only 2, 3 years ago when Kichou came to marry into the family.
Soon after she married into the family, she left the castle to the temple; she rarely comes back to the castle.
Though he knows not to say this outloud, these were the small things that came to mind.
Gorouza glanced at Nobunaga from the corner of his eyes and heard soft footsteps coming from the halls.
"Kasane-dono."
"Ah, good morning, Gorouza-san, Tono-sama!"
Wearing a cloth tied to her head, a busily cleaning Kasane appeared.
Noticing him, she wiped away the thin layer of sweat and gave him a smile.
"You work hard even this early in the morning."
"Yes! I don't mind cleaning after all!"
She smiled at his words.
Nobunaga remained silent.
"Uwah…! The flowers from the sakura are beautiful."
She commented on the beauty of the blooming flowers in the yard.
"Kasane-dono like flowers?"
"Ah, yes. Flowers are very pretty, I like them a lot!"
Hearing such a girlish response, Gorouza softly smiled.
She always worked away restlessly, closing the gap between what defined a man and woman, so hearing this kind of comment truthfully made him relieved.
(She really is just a normal girl...)
Gorouza thought to himself as he watched her gaze sparkle towards the sakura tree.
"Then Kasane-dono, why don't you come to my room afterwards? I have some arranged flowers in my room. I shall present that to you. Even if you just take one of them, just having it in your room will make things more splendid."
"Eh, is that alright?"
Kasane's face glistened with happiness at his suggestion.
Seeing her honestly delighted also made him happy.
"That reminds me, Kasane-dono do you know the meaning of sakura?"
"Eh? There's even a meaning for sakura?"
"Of course."
Gorouza pleasantly smiled.
"What does it mean?"
She struck him the question.
Gazing into her pure eyes, Gorouza couldn't help but feel a little assumed by this and softly laughed.
"The meaning of sakura is-."
"Oi, woman."
Suddenly Nobunaga, who remained silent until now, called out to Kasane; she jumped a little at turned her attention to him.
"Stop messing around and go back to work."
"..."
Hit by his usual merciless orders, Kasane gave him an slightly accusing look.
However she seemed to have given up on his behavior today and after gripping the dustcloth tightly in her hand, she began to clean once more.
"Well, I'll be going!"
Saying that she left, wiping the floor.
Her footsteps fainted in the distance and her figure disappeared.
"...Nobunaga-sama, such a way of speaking isn't proper."
"What way of speaking."
Seeing his master clearly displeased, Gorouza sighed.
"Jealousy huh. It's unsightly for a man to be jealous you know."
"Who is; if you're somniloquying say it in your sleep.
He turned even more bad-tempered at his words.
Recently when he sees his lord like this, a certain thought comes to mind.
This young lord was extremely possessive, he held an unusual amount of jealousy for himself.
Though this man wouldn't possibly admit this, Gorouza felt that Nobunaga saw Kasane as 'special'.
And his lord didn't see her familiar conversations with other men as pleasant.
Take the conversation just now, with only one glance at their intimate conversation, he clearly had a disagreeable grimace on his face.
...Surely the person in question didn't notice this.
"...Well then, I shall excuse myself. I still have work to do."
After saying that, Gorouza stood up and left Nobunaga.
TBC
As expected of your future son-in-law Nobunaga... you should really listen to him.
Well then, time sure flies by. I got to pack up to go back to college... another long day ahead. Hopefully I'll be able to translate the next two chapters tomorrow. So until then, I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable day ahead of you.
