Questioning this, they followed after the couple at a distance.

Kasane and Toukichirou then stopped in at a stall.

After buying the items that Nobunaga ordered her to get, Kasane frowned at the returned change in her hand.

"Oya, what's wrong? Why're you making that face?"

"Well… you see Tono-sama said there wouldn't be any change left, so I shouldn't expect any…"

Indeed that lord had clearly told her there wouldn't be any change left.

But she certainly had some left from all the errands.

Kasane frantically rechecked the list, as she thought she might have missed an item, but she had bought all of the things on the list.

"...What does this mean?"

As she tilted her head in bewilderment, Toukichirou nodded; convinced of the reason why.

"Little missy, this is Nobunaga-sama's consideration."

"C-consideration…?"

Kasane raised a brow, now becoming more confused.

Toukichirou smiled at her reaction.

"There's no change. In other words, he meant that he won't be accepting the money left over. Surely he wishes for you to use the leftover money as you like."

"I-is that so?"

"Nobunaga-sama isn't an honest person afterall."

"...When we get back, I should thank him."

"Ahaha, if you tell that to him, Nobunaga-sama would only say. 'What're you talking about' and ignore you."

Kasane handed in all the change and bought a number of small, adorable sweets.

"Yes. Ah, Toukichirou-san this one is yours!"

Kasane handed on of them to Toukichirou.

He accepted them graciously.

"Everyone has been taking good care of me, so I thought I should buy one for everyone."

Seeing her shyly say this, Toukichirou's heart tightened.

S-so cute. She's such a good child.

At times like these, she could have bought something for herself.

"I'm sure everyone will be happy!"

"Hopefully."

Kasane and Toukichirou left the store and proceeded out to town.

Some time has passed since then and soon enough the sun was now beginning to set, Kasane glanced up to the sky.

"It's already evening. I should return to the castle…"

"Eh!? It's already this late?!"

Toukichirou raised his voice in surprise.

He had so much fun going around the town with Kasane that he lost track of time.

"Then, how about we go eat something before we go back? It'll be my treat!"

"I-I'll feel bad!"

"It'll be my thanks for making you accompany me all day! There's no need for you to hesitate!"

Saying this, he half-forcibly took her into a nearby shop.

Startled, the three idiots followed after them.

Covering their faces, they took a seat in Kasane's and Toukichirou's blind spot.

"Now, now! Order anything you would like."

"Eh, u-m…. Then if you say so…"

Kasane then began to order something with Toukichirou.

Exchanging trifle conversations with smiles, they seemed to be like an intimate couple.

"...I don't know why, but I'm feeling irritated here."

Kuranosuke exasperatedly crossed his arms as he glared at them.

"Katane, looks like fun…"

Feeling lonely, Inuchiyo dejectedly bowed his head.

"Kasane-dono…"

After following after Kasane and seeing her happily getting along with someone, Gorouza was starting to get depressed; just what in the world were they doing all this time?

A second later, they heard a loud thud coming in the couple's table, Gorouza and the others turned their attention to the noise.

"L-little missy!?"

Toukichirou raised his voice in surprise when Kasane suddenly face planted herself to the table.

"Ah! I'm terribly sorry, dear customer! That wasn't water but our strongest liquor…"

The sales clerk apologized with a wry smile.

It seems that Kasane's water was switched off with another customer's liquor by mistake.

"Y-you say sorry but…. Are you alright, little missy?"

Toukichirou raised a brow after the salesclerk before returning his attention to the dead-still Kasane, who had not budged after her faceplant.

"u...n."

It would seem that due to her weak constitution, the strong effects of the liquor rendered her unconscious.

"..."

As her cheeks reddened due to the effects of the alcohol, Toukichirou couldn't help but ogle at them.

As if surrounding him, he found Gorouza's big sword, Inuchiyo's spear, and Kuranosuke's sword blocking him off like a wall."

"More importantly what do you mean by 'Now, I have no choice but to marry Toukichirou-san'! Are you an idiot!?"

"Eeh!? W-why do you know my thoughts?!"

"You were the one that spilled out everything…!"

"Katane isn't going to be your bride!"

Even the gentle Inuchiyo was angrily edging up to Toukichirou.

"Anyway, we'll be taking Kasane-dono home."

"Eeh."

He raised his voice and glanced after the group of three.

The three of them glared at him as he chuckled a weak 'Ahaha…' before withdrawing.

"Kasane-dono…"

Gorouza gently shook Kasane's shoulder, who still wasn't moving, as an attempt to wake her up.

However, Kasane only softly groaned, making no movement of waking up.

"It seems that it would be impossible for her to wake up… Inuchiyo, please carry her."

"Okay! Yo...tto."

As told by Gorouza, Inuchiyo carried her.

"It's already this dark. Let's hurry back to the castle."

Gorouza said this to Inuchiyo and Kuranosuke.

"Ah! Wait! I'm coming with you~!"

Somehow bypassing the wall, Toukichirou followed after them.

Gazing up to the dark sky, in the distance he spied a lone bird flying above.

(...It can't be… right?)

Glancing at the bird, he remembered a narrowed-eyed youth and his unfriendly hawk, but he faintly shook his head and threw away that possibility.

I'm pretty sure even after Kasane returns to the future, they'll come out to haunt her boyfriends (lol). No, those guys will probably have to face the whole Oda army before dating her.

Ah right, I'm happy to say that Nobunaga no Shinobi is having an anime adaptation! It's not Sengoku Strays, but it's really cute. All the characters are such dorks, absolutely cute dorks.
