A/N: Hey guys, we have a kind short chapter here for you guys because we both have an annoying little pest that you guys are all most likely well acquainted with known as writers block so if you can pay attention and review some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated and help with updating.

Castro woke to Katniss gently shaking him.

He smiled slightly as he sat up but then looked around.

"Relax; it's just time to wake up." She said.

"Alright, thank you." He said smiling again.

"No problem we need to move though." She said.

"Right," He said and they got down from the tree.

"How many left?" He asked.

"Seven," Castro answered.

"Good, this is nearly over." She said.

Castro nodded, "And now we can both win."

"Yeah! Soon we can both go home" She said smiling. He smiled gave her a kiss both for the cameras and himself. She willing melted into it still enjoying this more than she thought she would.

They separated though knowing that here in the open they can't really do that for very long. "How's your ear?" Castro asked her.

"Still silent."

Castro sighed then said, "I'll cover that side for you."

"Sorry." She said.

"Not your fault and it will get better."

"I hope so." She said.

"As I see it at the absolute latest worst case scenario the doctors will fix it when you win."

"Right!" She said.

"It might heal sooner though."

"I hope so."

"So do I. A huntress needs her hearing." Castro said.

"Exactly." She said.

"At least you have one ear and me now though."

"That's true." She said.

"It doesn't help enough though does it?"

"No, but I do enjoy having you here."

"Well, thank you."

"Thank you I would hate to be half-deaf with no one to cover my other ear."

"Well, I'm glad to be here for you."

"We should get food." Katniss pointed out.

"Right," He said walking on soundlessly keeping his ears open for any animals a knife at the ready.

They did manage to get a large bird. "We just need some way to cook it." Castro said.

"Low flame?"

"Might work, we'd have to be very careful with it."

"I know." She said. He started to set the pit for one. Soon they had a small almost smokeless fire going. So they plucked and roasted the bird which was greasy, but good.

"That's actually pretty good." Katniss said taking another bite.

"Yeah, so who do we go after?"

"Cato before he comes after us?" Katniss offered.

"Yeah best idea."

"If only we had a way to separate him from Clove." Katniss pondered.

"Unlikely."

"I know but there might be some way."

"What if we draw them out with us?" Castro asked.

"That would draw them both out though."

"Then we split?"

"You really think we could take them one-on-one?" Katniss asked.

"Maybe." He sighed.

"What if they chose to let one of us escape instead?" She asked.

"Good point." He grumbled.

"I'm sorry; there are just too many variables."

"I understand."

"Guess that's the case any way we do it."

"Maybe we wait it out." Castro said.

"Or an ambush."

"We would need to know where they are."

"That would be required with any strategy."

"I know."

"They probably headed back to the Cornucopia."

"You think they would?"

"They wouldn't go anywhere they don't know for very long."

"That's true."

"Might as well check and we do both have long range weapons."

"Right." He said.

"So, should we check?"

"Yes we should." So they headed back towards the Cornucopia.

They slowed the nearer they got. They broke off to opposite sides in flawlessly silent footsteps. Katniss came from the east and peered in staying out of sight. There they both were. She nocked an arrow and drew it back. She fired an arrow at Clove but Cato jumped in front of it at the last second taking an arrow to the stomach similar to canon Rue's cause of death.

"Cato!" Clove said. She laid him on his back freaking out and trying to figure out where exactly it hit to see if she could save him. "Cato! Why did you do that?"

"I could not let you die." He said.

"You think I wanted you to die any more than you did?" Clove said starting to cry.

"No, but you have to be safe." He said.

"You can't die though. You just can't."

"I am trying not to." He chuckled.

"There must be some way to… Enobaria! Lyme!"

"Clove, there is nothing they can do." He said.

"There must be something. I can't let you die! Not when we finally have a chance!"

"I am losing too much blood." He gasped. His hand went up and took hers, "You need to win, Clover."

"No we need to win please Cato hang on." She said going a bit hysteric. She took out the arrow and tried to apply pressure to the wound.

"It's no good, Clover." He said.

"No! No! It can't be!" Clove said desperately trying to stop the bleeding. "Enobaria! Lyme! There must be SOMETHING you can send!"

"I'm sorry, Clover. I love you." He said.

"I love you, too, Cato. That's why I can't let you die!" She shouted not caring or even thinking about who might hear her.

"Please don't cry." He said. She looked at him trying to stop but then leaned down and kissed him on the lips not letting go until she heard the canon.

She started to sob in despair and anger. 'Please don't cry.' His words repeated in her head and she pulled out a handful of knives from her jacket in blind fury. There was no doubt at all who kill him and she will not rest until she wears Katniss' pelt as a hat. She took one last look to Cato before she was off.

Luckily, because Clove spent so much time crying over his dying/dead body, she and Castro were long gone. "Well that was..." Katniss trailed.

"Surprising," Castro finished.

"Yeah very." Katniss said.

"Well, given her very loud reaction if we didn't have targets on our backs before we certainly do now."

"Yeah we do." He sighed.

"At least now there's only one left so we have her out numbered."

"True." He said.

"Hopefully that will be enough."

"I hope so."

"I think it will be." He said taking her hand on the side of her deaf ear.

"Good." She said.

"We just need to stick together which we would have anyways." She nodded leaning slightly against him as they walked. "We need to find some more water." He said putting an arm around her.

"Right let's go." She said.

So they walked on looking for the stream or one of the ponds. They did find one as well. They filled back up their water bottles and purified it. "Good now we need to get away from her."

"Then just keep moving." Castro said. She nodded and they set off again. "Think it was worth it?" Castro asked her.

"What do you mean?"

"Getting Clove completely at our throats in exchange for killing Cato?"

"Maybe." She said.

"I think so."

"Really?"

"Yeah, we stand a better chance against just her." Castro pointed out.

"Again maybe."

"Well, it's probably not good but at least better."

"Yeah, so true."

"We just need a plan." He said.

"Yeah we do. It'll be hard though."

"It was bound to be since the Reaping. What's your point?"

"She is out for blood."

"Then we have something in common."

"We do?"

"Of course we do."

"It's personal for her."

"Then she's more likely to get reckless."

"True." She admitted.

"It would make her easier to beat."

"Yeah but more intense."

"Then for now we just need to avoid her."

"Yeah easier said than done."

"We just need to keep moving for now." He nodded and they were off again.
