American Honey
Chapter 37
"Your Mother wants to know when we are getting back from our fishing trip." Mac announced as he leaned back on the couch as he looked at his phone.
"You are using that excuse again?" Sam asked as she sat next to Kristina and Molly.
"Yes, but this time it is more believable." Mac answered, "I took the fishing poles and even rented a boat, I made sure that they called to confirmed with your Mother."
"Did you ever think that it might just be easier to actually go fishing?" Sam questioned as she took a sip of her ice tea.
"No. I think you should be nice to me." Mac frowned as she looked as his oldest daughter, "I did buy you the best wedding gift ever."
"You bought Jason and me a golf cart because you wanted one and would get a better deal if you got two." Sam corrected as she set her glass down.
"I bought them so we could get to each other's houses faster than walking." Mac explained, "I also happened to have hired your husband as by deputy."
"I happen to be letting you and my sisters live in my house." Sam argued.
"Technically it's my house." Jason called from the hallway as he placed a box on the front porch, "I think your father is a better roommate then your brother."
"You are really doing yourself a favor by letting me stay here. If I had stayed at my house there is a high likelihood that I would commit manslaughter." Mac sighed, "Your brother is a mystery to me, I don't know where he came from. At least in you girls, I can see a part of myself, but with Nikolas, it's like God threw up a human."
"Dad." Sam yelled as Molly and Kristina busted out in laughter, "We are twins."
"Then you should take that as a compliment, you obviously took all the knowledge from your Mother's womb. Your brother is now living in two RVs on my lawn, because he bought them and your Mother is just allowing that to happen."
"That is because Nikolas is a wonder gazelle and Mom can't say no to him." Kristina replied, "Oh, Maxie and Johnny are coming home today."
"Another child that I worry about." Mac frowned, "You three have the smarts and if that fails you are all very adept at blackmail and trickery, so I have compete faith in you to get very far in life. Robin is the good one, I don't have to worry about her."
"Those odds are pretty good, four out of six." Kristina shrugged, "Also, she is going to lie and say I send her to another state, that didn't happen."
"She should have known better then to trust you, after the whole Atlantic City debacle." Mac gave in.
"Also about Robin being the good oneā¦.." Kristina started to say before Molly clasped a hand over her mouth.
"What?" Mac asked as he zeroed in on Kristina.
"It's already on YouTube." Kristina defended, "That is how I found out." She added.
"Is this about Patrick impregnating my daughter?"
"How do you know that?" Sam asked.
"Funny story, a coworker thought it would be funny to show me a video of Nikolas running around the house in Power Ranger pajamas and a baseball bat. That led me to finding a whole channel dedicated to our family."
"Mom doesn't know yet does she?"
"I have no idea and I am not telling her I know. I have learned my lesson about trying to get one over on her."
"This was on the door." Jason announced as he dropped a note on Sam's lap before he leaned against the arm rest.
"Nikolas is inviting us to a housewarming party tonight." Sam read aloud as she looked at the note and then around the room.
"He is not living in a house; he is living in a recreational vehicle, two of them that are on my lawn." Mac disagreed as he stood up and took the note from his daughter, "No alcohol allowed?" Mac bellowed as he saw the last part of the note.
"This is going to be a gold mine." Sam smiled as she pulled out her phone and sent a quick text to Patrick before she left the room.

"What color do you want?" Sam asked as she turned her father who was sitting at the island in the kitchen.
" I want orange and rum." He answered as he stared at the Gatorade bottles that were lined on the counter, next to a bottle of rum and a bottle of vodka, "Are you sure we are going to get away with this?"
"You and Mom never knew when we did it as kids." Maxie answered as she came into the kitchen with a box of wine
"Hello my little traveler." Mac smiled as he stood and pulled his blonde daughter into a hug, "Did you just get back?"
"Yes and I got Molly's text about the no booze." She answered as she pulled away from her father and held up the box.
"There is a very strong reaction to not being allowed to drink, don't you think this sends up some warning flags." Molly questioned as she watched Sam empty a soda can and then hand it to Maxie.
"You don't understand because you've never tasted it before." Maxie defended as she looked at the youngest Scorpio.
"You better not have ever tasted alcohol before." Mac warned as he grabbed the bottle from Sam, "After having to deal with the situations that I find myself in, thanks to make my lovely children, I dinf that a nice beer helps mellow me out and not harm anyone." He added.
"It's not a dependency, as something that makes life a little more interesting." Maxie smiled.
"Right a dependency is more like Maxie and her need for shoes." Kristina chimed in as she looked at the youngest Scorpio.
"I would tread carefully little sister, we have a very shaky truce." Maxie warned in a low voice, "Which brings me to the solution I have for dealing with Nikolas." She declared as her voice turned cheerful again, "I have decided not to get my revenge on Kristina because she helped me forge the papers we need to get Nikolas out of the house." The blonde explained as she turned to face Mac.
"If you are restarting your fake idea business, I don't want to know about it." Mac shook his head as he looked at Kristina.
"No, I have moved on to something more profitable." Kristina replied a she ran into the living room to get something.
"You see we have all been thinking on the small scale to get Nikolas back for the camping trip and all the other things he has done. I mean maxing out his credit card was a small reward and we all know that Grandma Helena is going to bail him out." Maxie continued.
"I used to blame Nikolas for being a wounded gazelle on his own, but what hope did my boy have with you five as sisters." Mac muttered.
"We all know that Nikolas is not going to believe anything we say, so I came up with this." Maxie grinned as Kristina ran back into the room with a folder and pulled out an official looking document.
"This is a deed." Mac observed as she looked over folder, "To a house in Wisconsin."
"The deed is real, but the rest is forged." Kristina smiled as she looked over her hard work, "Maxie bought the house with the trust fund that Grams set up and we made it look like she gifted the house to Nikolas as a late wedding gift."
"You do realize that I am a sheriff." Mac announced, "I guess I should just be happy that you use your superpowers against your brother instead of the masses."
"You aren't going to tell him?" Sam asked as she processed her sister's plan and then looked at her father.
"This will get your brother out of my house and me back in it. So no, I am not going to say anything." Mac smiled as he took his Gatorade bottle and headed to the back porch, "How are your photoshop skills?" He asked as he turned around.

"Does everyone have their Gatorades?" Maxie asked as the group got off of the golf carts and headed towards the two motorhomes that lay rested on the front lawn of Alexis and Mac's house. Maxie pulled Johnny towards the RV that Emily was standing outside of.
"There is no way that we all are going to fit in there." Patrick remarked as he placed his arm around Robin and looked at Sam.
"We want to be in the one with Maxie." Sam smiled as she grabbed Jason's hand.
"Is this going to be filmed?" Jason whispered as he leaned his head so that it was next to Sam's ear.
"I am not able to answer that question." Sam smiled, "But, you know what they say, bad choices make great stories."
"I am going to find this YouTube channel." Jason affirmed as he placed a kiss below her ear lobe.
"You can try." Sam smiled sweetly as she moved ahead to stand with Maxie and Johnny.
"Why do you all have your own drinks?" Nikolas questioned as he looked around at his family.
"We didn't want to put you out. We know that money is a little tight right now with your two new homes." Maxie shrugged.
"Can we eat soon? I am starving?" Patrick complained.
"Right, do you want to go to your table?"
"No, not at all. I came to this dinner to eat on the ground. Grass for ten please." Patrick snapped.
"Ignore him, he hasn't been sleeping good." Robin explained.
"Right ,I was just coming to the realization that my child is going to be the devil. Seeing as it's going to be raised around this family and the choices are wounded gazelle or demon."
"We have to split the groups up to fit everyone." Emily smiled, "Sam, Jason, Maxie, Johnny are in here with Nikolas. That leaves Patrick, Robin, Kristina, Ethan, Molly, Alexis and Mac are with me."
"You and Nikolas aren't eating together?" Sam asked as she handed Emily a drink.
"No, I am going to leave Nikolas to think about what he did." Emily winked.
"Patrick got to you."
"He thought it would be better with Nikolas on his own." Emily remarked as the groups parted ways.
"How was your fishing trip?" Alexis smiled as she gave Mac a peck on the cheek.
"Amazing, look at what I caught." Mac answered as he opened the cooler that he had been carrying around and pulled out a large fluke.
