Coming Closer

Chapter 2-

"Nice of you to actually pick up." Sam laughed as she glanced into the screen of her phone where a grinning Emily was. Sam, Aubree and Maxie sat in the waiting room of General Hospital as they waited for Robin and her test results.

Maxie had taken Aubree in search of some edible food while Sam was catching up with her sister-in-law. For the last year Emily and Damion along with their daughter had been living in London. In the last two years, Damion had wormed his way into the Quartermaine's good graces and Edward had even offered Damion a job at ELQ. Which led to Damion traveling to London to try and improve ELQ's offshore holdings. The only down fall was that it had taken the small family to another country.

The move took place about a year after Ryann Samantha Prince was born, which was a complete surprise to the young parents because they were under the impression that they were going to have a little boy, which led to Ryann's unique name. It had taken the couple, almost the complete pregnancy to agree on Ryan, so instead of having their daughter go nameless for the unforeseeable future, they decided to keep the name and give it a feminine twist.

At first Sam had been worried about her best friend moving half way around the world, so far away from her family after just having a baby. It wasn't until Sam, Aubree and Robin went to visit a month after Emily had moved, that she saw the instant change in the young doctor. Something about Emily had changed, it seemed like she was more carefree than she had been in Port Charles. Away from all the memories of Nikolas and Elizabeth.

"I have been trying to get back to you but things have been a little insane" Emily apologized.

"Please tell me everything is okay with you and my brother."

"It's been amazing, he has been so supportive of me going back to work and helpful with Ry." Emily gushed as she adjusted her I-Pad so she could get a better view.

"He better be or I will have to fly there and kick his butt."

"I use that threat almost weekly or any time I want to get my way." Emily whispered loudly, "Your brother is really terrified of you, ever since he found out you are the one that sent him to Greenland."

"I still can't believe that Maxie was the one who ratted me out."

"I find that hard to believe since it's a Scorpio trait to constantly try and one up each other."

"Nice topic switch, what is really going on that is so much more important than my phone calls?"

"Damion wanted to be the one to tell you... But, I need to tell someone." Emily declared, "We are coming home!" The young doctor explained.

"Really?" Sam questioned.

"Yes, in four months I will be back in Port Charles." Emily affirmed just as there was a cry in the background, "Breakfast time and Damion is pretending to be asleep again."Emily muttered under her breath as she turned around, "I love you and promise to call you soon."

"Love you too and tell my brother I am watching him." Sam bid as she ended the phone call just as Robin entered the waiting room with a small smile.

Jason placed the beer bottle on the coffee table and eased back into the couch, the last few months were starting to take it's toll on him. Between business picking up, Carly's divorce and moving into a new house, it seemed like Sam and he were having less and less alone time together. He was hoping to have some alone time with her tonight, but it seemed Alex had different a different plan in mind.

It had taken an hour to finally go to bed, after reading his favorite book My Truck is Stuck around six time and that was after twenty minutes of chasing the naked toddler around the house just so he could put another pair of pajamas on, because Alex had split water all over the pair that Sam had dressed him in.

Jason was about to change the channel when he heard talking from the top of the stairs, "Ria, Ria, Ria." The young boy called to his sister from his room, "Ria, wake up." Alex called again as Jason slowly set the remote down and headed towards the stairs with a heavy sigh.

When Jason reached the door was he was greeted by a toothy grin, as Alex stood on his toddler bed with a race car in one hand. "Shhh the baby is sleeping." Alex demanded as he started at his dad and than pointed to Aria's room that was across the hall.

"Just like you are supposed to be." Jason challenged as he moved away from the doorway and into the room.

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"You forgot to put on music." Alex answered as he slipped out of his bed and across the room to the bookcase where his CD played rested and turned the thing on.

"Alright, you have your music." Jason sighed as he lifted the boy in his arms and than carried him over to his bed, "Now it is time to sleep."

"I can't."

"Why?" Jason asked again as he pulled the blue blanket over the boy. "You have your flashlight, music and blankie."

"No paci." Alex pouted as he looked for his pacifier.

"Where is it?" Jason asked as he looked around the bed, Sam normally left three in his bed just for this reason, "Mommy left them in here."

"Mommy said I can stay up."

"I am not falling for that again." Jason declared, he had learned his lesson long ago not to listen to Alex on when it came to what he was and wasn't allowed to-do.

"I no sleep in here, I miss Daddy and want to sleep in Daddy's bed." Alex pouted as he crawled into Jason's lap.

"I miss you too Monkey." Jason promised as he hugged the boy, "You have to promise to go to bed."

"I will." Alex promised as he grabbed onto Jason as he headed out of the room.

"You are going to be okay?" Sam asked as Maxie pulled into Sam's driveway.

"I am really good." Robin gushed as she turned around in her seat to face Sam, "I promise."

"If you are getting anxious or have any cravings, you know you can call me." Sam pressed as she unbuckled Brie from her booster seat careful not to wake the sleeping toddler. Sam was worried about how quite Robin had been since they left the hospital, she knew what a struggle it had been to reach this point. Patrick and she had tried so hard for this baby and Sam knew here sister was terrified that it was going to end the same way as the last.

"I promise I am going to be fine."

"I am going to spend the night with her to be on the safe side." Maxie promised as she leaned over to talk to Sam out the passenger window.

"We both know you are only staying over because you want to avoid Matt." Robin scuffed as as rolled her eyes.

"Kelly's in the morning?" Sam offered as she shifted Aubree to her other arm.

"Only if you bring my goddaughter." Maxie grinned as she waved good bye and backed out of the driveway.

Jason came out of the master bathroom in a pair of black workout pants and a towel wrapped around his neck that he used to dry his hair. A small smile reached his face as he glanced at the sleeping boy who burrowed in the middle of the king size bed. Alex had finally fallen asleep after Jason had taken him into his room and put Cars 2 on.

Jason pulled the blue blanket around the boy before he turned back into the bathroom to throw the towel into the hamper when something in the garbage caught his eye and the comment that Alex mentioned about Sam. He was brought out of his thoughts when the sound of the front door opened.

"Jase." Sam called into the dark house as she placed Brie down on the couch and looked around the living room.

"Everything all right?" Jason asked as he came down the stairs and carefully watched Sam.

"Perfect." Sam smiled as Jason came up to her and pulled her into a hug, "The kid's alright?" Sam asked as she looked up at Jason.

"Alex is sleeping in our bed."

"He conned you again." Sam laughed as she placed a peck on Jason's lips.

"Where did you go?" Jason asked as he glanced at the couch, while he still kept a hold around Sam's waist.

"Hospital and it took a little longer than we thought." Sam nodded towards Aubree who was knocked out. Jason stared at Sam for a moment before he picked Aubree up and headed back up the stairs towards the girl's room. The conversation he was about to have with Sam he wanted to have alone.

"I thought we had a promise, that I was going to be the second person to know." Jason pointed out as he came back down the stairs and moved to stand in front of Sam, "I know how close you and your sisters are but I am your husband."

"I don't see what this has to-do with us." Sam answered confused as she watched Jason pull something

out of his back pocket.

"Do with us? Are you kidding? Unless there is something you want to tell me, it has everything to-do with us. For heaven sake's Alex knew before me."

"I don't think we are on the same page." Sam hesitated as she watched what Jason pulled out of his pocket.

"Why did you tell me first? Are you unsure about this?" Jason asked as he pulled the pregnant test out and waved in front of Sam.

"Where did you get that?"

"In our bathroom and that was after Alex informed me that we are having a baby."

"First I thought we talked about listening to what Alex said and that is not my test."

"Of course it is whose else would it be?"

"Robin's." Sam laughed as she watched Jason throw the test across the living room.

"Your sister is the one who is pregnant." Jason summed up as he wiped his hands on his pants.

"Yes and that is why we went to the hospital."

"You thought I would tell Robin and Maxie before you?" Sam questioned as she placed her arms around Jason. He didn't say anything and just pulled her into a kiss and carried her over to the couch.

"You are sure you are not pregnant?" Jason asked as he laid her on the couch, Sam nodded as she kissed her neck, "We have to fix that." Jason insisted as he pulled Sam into a deep kiss.

"Oh no." Sam demanded as she pushed Jason off of her, "I thought we had this conversation."

"We did and it's been two years." Jason smirked, "Come on Babe, don't you want another mini us? Aubree is going into kindergarten, Aria is already two and Alex had been asking for a brother." Jason listed as he peppered kissed down Sam's neck.

"We have three kids already all under the age of six and four if you count Micheal." Sam disagreed as she tried to get her bearings, "It's a walking advertisement that we can't keep out hands off each other."

"Which is the truth." Jason smirked as he pinned Sam on the couch, just as the door swung open.

"Sam I need you as a witness." Carly demanded as she stood in the doorway.
