Chapter 15: Suspects found
Littlefoot, Cera, and Spike check every Longneck in the Valley they are living at, All longnecks have checked out, none of them have a scar on their legs. They collected all foot prints of the Longnecks. As they head back to tell Richard and the team the news.
Meanwhile in the Mysterious Beyond, Petrie is flying around checking for Sharptooth, then Petrie spotted him, he see's Sharptooth has killed a Spiketail, and realize that Sharptooth was hunting, Petrie knows that Sharptooth was eating his food, which means he will leave saliva for evidence to either confirm or rule Sharptooth out.
Petrie lands in tree without being seen, he waits at his spot until Sharptooth leave his food. Sharptooth was eating his food for 20 minutes, soon Sharptooth moved on and disappeared.
Petrie flew to the dead Spiketail, went to where Sharptooth ate from the Spiketail, Petrie felt like he was about to throw up, he was holding his breath, he was smelling the stink of death. He knew there was nothing he could do for this Spiketail, but he knew this dead unknown Spiketail will help solve the teams case that involves Sharptooth's former family. Petrie looks at the Spiketail with sadness.
" Sorry me couldn't help you survive, or help you live a bit longer. But your death will not go in vain, your death will help us solve a case give a family that was murdered years ago, and give that family justice for what happened to you." Petrie said to the Dead Spiketail.
Petrie swapped the feasting area, collected the DNA sample, took off into the air, and flew away.
Unknown to Petrie, Sharptooth has seen and overheard everything. Some of what the Flyer said, made no sense.
Sharptooth has killed a lot of dinosaurs, mostly loners, but he has takens groups, but mostly loners. He remembers that young Longneck named Littlefoot, and remembers the mother that he killed. Even though he had a hatred of Longnecks, he wished he didn't kill her or try to kill the little Longneck back then.
Sharptooth then focuses on the Flyer and decided to follow it.
Back at the Valley, Chomper, Ducky, and Ruby are finding Sharptooth that are eating fishes, they ask each Sharptooth to give at least one fish that they bit into.
Most of the Sharpteeth, gave Ducky and Ruby the fishes, so they need a item to hold all of the fish. Richard told them to take the US Military trailer from the troop transport trucks, as a wagon to hold all of the fish. Soon all of the fish were taken as DNA samples from the saliva. They also collected Sharpteeth foot prints as well.
Richard, Marcus, and Gemma, along with Brownclaw and his pack told every Fast-biter to come and give claw mark and foot prints examples for examination. All Fast-biters came and gave claw mark examples.
When the team got together, they get ready to tell what they have seen, found, and collected. Petrie arrived back with the DNA example of Sharptooth's saliva.
Richard checked Sharptooth's saliva to the unknown Sharptooth male semen sample. They tried to test the DNA results, when the results came back, Richard and the team find out that Sharptooth's DNA did not match the Sharptooth semen sample. So the team rules out Sharptooth as a possible suspect.
Littlefoot, Cera and Spike tell the team that they couldn't find any longneck with a scar on their legs. They checkall of the Longnecks foot prints, but no matches. For this was a major set back for the case.
Chomper, Ruby, and Ducky told the team they collected all the fish that one Sharptooth each toke a bite of each fish. Richard and the team know they would have to go through a lot of DNA scans to elimenate female Sharpteeth for male Sharpteeth. Then compare all DNA examples with the unknown Sharptooth semen sample.
The DNA testings took about a week to get done. When the test results came in, they all checked out meaning that all male Sharpteeth were ruled out. They even checked all the Sharpteeth's foot prints, they to found no matches. This was once again, another set back for the case.
Richard, Marcus, and Gemma did claw mark and foot print examintions, but concluded that they couldn't find a single match.
The team thought that case was never going to be solved as the case was going cold.
" Okay, so we checked almost every single, Longneck, Sharptooth, and Fast-biter in the Valley, but no matches, and Sharptooth's DNA do not match the unknown Sharptooth semen sample, it looks like the case might never be solved." Richard says.
" Not everyone came." A fast-biter from Brownclaw's pack adds. " Utah didn't come to have his claw marks and foot prints be tested."
" Who's Utah?" Gemma asks.
" Utah is a Fast-biter that lives in the Valley, along with a Longneck named Argentino and a Sharptooth named Tarbo. But however, those three have been causing serious trouble in the Valley." Brownclaw says.
For Richard and the team, three new dinosaurs that haven't been checked out yet, and the team decided to check them out, the reason why is because they seem to have a few brushes with the law according to Brownclaw and his pack.
Team then focus on their investigation with their three new suspects, Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo.
Little do the team know is that Doc, Dara and Sharptooth have all found Richard, Littlefoot and the gang, but have noticed that they have all grown up seen they last saw them.
Doc and Dara was at a different hiding spot, and Sharptooth was at another hiding spot, but they are about to soon learn what happened years ago, and learn that they should have asked each other for forgiveness, help, and regret.
