Before we begin this story. I want to bring up about the disaster in Gatlinburg Tennessee. Gatlinburg was struck by a massive wildfire that it destroyed over 1,000 homes and businesses, and killed 14 people, and injuring 134. It is the worst wildfire to strike Tennessee in 100 years. The people of Gatlinburg are strong people, and they will rebuild, but it take days, weeks, and months to fully rebuild. I hope you all pray for them they are going to need our help for this Christmas and New years holidays. Thank you for your time. This Chapter is dedicated to the Gatlinburg/Sevier County Wildfire and the Oakland Were house fire that killed 36 people. And also dedicated to men and women that put their lives at risk to protect others. Other than that here is another chapter of Undercover.
Chapter 18: Footprints and Fire
Richard and the team came back to HQ from the Valley Council and they are not too happy.
" Damn it! Why can't they let us get what we need!?" Richard said being angry.
" Yeah, even the Council knows that Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo have caused trouble in the Valley." Cera agrees with Richard.
They went to the Council to get promise to get biological samples from Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo, but were turned down because of lack of evidence that proved they are behind the murder of Sharptooth's mate and her hatchlings. Dispite the Council knowing that Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo have caused trouble in Valley, weren't major to the point where they can be banished or eliminated. It was to keep an eye on them, but the Valley stopped after the started acting on their good behavior. The council had no reason to suspect that they were cablable of committing homicide. The council wanted more evidence before they issue an order, because if they didn't find any evidence, the council said they will drop the pending order.
As Richard was in deep thought.
" Hey guys, look." Petrie said.
They all looked and saw foot prints of Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo.
" Are those Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo foot prints? " Ducky asks.
" Yes they are." Spike said.
" Ruby, Ducky, get the plaster, so we can capture the details of the prints and compare them to the other foot prints we found at the murder site." Miller says.
Ducky, Ruby, and Miller hurried to get plaster on the prints, when it hardened it made detail of Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo's footprints. Then with other footprint recovered from the murder scene, they compared them all and all three of the suspects match the evidence.
Unknown to the team Doc, Dara, and Sharptooth were listening in
" So now with this new evidence, we can say that all three we're around the area when the crime occured." Richard said.
" Now let's go back to the council and get that order." Cera said.
" No Cera." Richard said.
" No? Why not?" Cera asks.
" We don't have enough prove." Chomper said.
" Chomper's right. We need more than just footprints to prove they committed a crime." Littlefoot said.
" The Footprint evidence alone proves that were in the area, it doesn't prove they actually commited a crime." Miller said.
" We more evidence to connect them to the murder then just footprints." Richard said.
" It is going take a miracle, a miracle it is going to take." Ruby said.
Then they heard a female Swimmer scream out.
Female Swimmer: Help! Fire!
Then the team saw black smoke and see the smoke intensify, Richard and the team then turned to Brown Claw and his pack.
" We got a major fire! We got to put it out!" Richard said.
" And we will help out." Said a voice that Richard and the team haven't heard in awhile.
They saw Doc, Dara, and Sharptooth standing there side by side, not attacking each other.
" What are you three doing here?" Richard asks.
" And how are you not trying to fight each other? " Miller asks.
" We have been listening to see what you have been doing." Doc said.
" After I learned that you are investigating the murder of my mate and hatchlings, I wanted to see for myself. And when I learned that Doc was not involved and instead mine and Doc's former friends might behind, Me and Doc decided to end hostilities until we learn the truth." Sharptooth said.
" You know about Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo, and also know who them?" Richard asks.
" Yes, they used to be our friends, but they wanted me and Sharptooth separate, because they believed that leaf and Sharpteeth shouldn't be friends, just like our parents. But Me and Sharptooth just like Littlefoot and Chomper, we wanted to challenge that believe, we need to make a world where both leaf and Sharpteeth could live together in peace without fear. But our friends after we left, they came after us, found us, and confronted us." Doc said.
" Hey guys, I hate to break up the conversation, but we have a fire to put out." Gemma said.
" Right love. We have to go." Richard said.
" You guys will be needing our help, and we have some vehicles and equipment for you." Brown Claw said.
" What do you mean?" Miller asks.
Brown Claw and his pack brought the group, to a cave, when they shined flashlights, they saw Emergenc Vehicles of all kinds.
Richard was surprised and shocked.
" Where did you find these emergency vehicles?" Richard asks.
" We found them in a cave in the Mysterious Beyond, it looked like they were placed there." Brown Claw said.
Richard believed the human race in the future decided to try to send some humans into the past to see how life would be like. But they sent all the vehicles but no humans.
" Let's gets gear on and let's get going." Richard said.
Everyone that was small enough put fire fighting gear on and other emergency services gear on, Richard and Brown Claw put white fire helmets to tell everyone that they are the Captains in charge of the crews putting out the fire. Richard and Brown Claw get inside a Red Crown Victoria with red and white mounted lights, again showing they are the fire captains. Miller and some members of Brown Claws pack get in a pumper firetruck, Gemma and even more members of Brown Claws pack get inside a ladder firetruck. Others pack raptors, get inside other emergency vehicles.
Littlefoot and the gang are too big to fit inside and like Doc, Dara, and Sharptooth they will have to follow them to the fire on foot.
" Follow us." Miller said.
Soon Richard lead the way, as the land emergency vehicles turns their lights and sirens on, as they raced to the fire. The air emergency vehicles like helicopters took off into the air.
Littlefoot and the gang, including Doc, Dara, and Sharptooth follow behind them as they run.
As the team rush to the fire, they see a long line of residents evacuating the fire area. They saw some residents decided to turn back. Richard figured, they want to help them out. Richard knew they are going to need all the help they can get.
Soon the team arrive at the fire scene, it a hugh fire.
Richard gets the teams and volunteers together.
" Alright. I have a plan. We are going to attack this fire with everything we got." Richard said.
Richard turns to the volunteer Swimmer.
" What is your name Swimmer?" Richard asks.
" April." The female Swimmer said.
" Okay April. I need you to help the raptors, get the fire hoses, put them in the river, then hock the other end to the pumper firetruck, then take another fire hose and connect it to the ladder fire truck. The raptors will connect other fire hoses to battle the blaze." Richard said.
Richard turned to the Fast runners at the foam units.
" I want you guys, to be backup, we can't use water to put it out. We will need all the foam from these tankers." Richard said, as they nodded.
Richard turned to Littlefoot and the gang including Doc, Dara, and Sharptooth.
" I want you, to knock down the trees and break up the ground close to the flames, we get rid of the trees, bushes, and grass, the flames will have nothing to burn, and the flames will die out." Richard said.
" Don't have to ask me twice." Cera said.
Richard then gets his radio out to contact the air, he told the raptors in helicopters to keep dropping the water on fire until it is out.
Soon they all got to work.
Littlefoot and the gang including Doc, Dara, and Sharptooth began knocking down trees. Cera used her Threehorn strength like a bulldozer pulling the trees down. Sharptooth used his brute strength to knock the trees down. Spike was eating the bushes. Then everyone got to an even bigger tree, as they pushed that tree down. Ducky and Ruby, along with raptors, fast runners, and also some rainbow faces that also came to volunteer to help out.
Richard, Miller, Brown Claw, and the raptor pack were using the water from the fire trucks, and the fire helicopters dropped water from the river nearby.
In two fours hours the fire was 60% contained.
Then the group heard something that would shock them.
" Mommy. Daddy. Help us." said a voice.
Richard knew from the sound that Hatchlings were in trouble and are in the blaze. Richard feeling like he had to safe them, did something no raptor aka fast biter would ever do.
" I am going in." Richard said as he put mask on got a small fast biter team together, and they rushed in.
Doc, Littlefoot, Sharptooth, and Chomper witness Richard and a small team of Fast Biter rushed inside. They heard a small child voice and they knew it hatchlings trapped. They saw Richard and that small team decided to put their lives at risk to save hatchlings.
Soon the fast biter team came with two longnecks hatchlings, a boy and a girl. Another fast biter came out with a female Sharptooth hatchling. Then Richard came out with a male boy hatchling, when that happened, then an explosion came from the fire, as they saw a fireball blew into the air, Richard was knocked to the ground, but he got back up.
Richard checked the male Sharptooth hatchling, to his horror the hatchling was not breathing.
" He's not breathing! " Richard yelled. Ducky came and layer the Sharptooth hatchling on his back, as Richard began CPR on the Sharptooth hatchling. It toke about two minutes, until the male Sharptooth hatchling coughed for air, the two longnecks and Sharptooth hatchlings came to the male hatchling and hugged him.
The hatchlings turned to Richard.
" Thank you Mister." The hatchlings said.
" No need to thank me kids, just doing what I could get you out of harm's way." Richard said.
Brown Claw escorted the kids to a Police Crown Victoria.
It toke another hour, before the fire was officially out.
The Richard and team began to investigate how the fire broke out. Miller say a shed that looked like it was just built, but the fire completely destroyed it. They found small bonds that were removed, Miller guess Richard and the small fast biter team found them and rescued them.
Then Miller saw something that completely raised red flags. He found a gasoline can that was knocked over, and found more gasoline containers, and also found guns, ammo, and explosives that was the source of the explosion they saw.
" Richard come here, please." Miller said.
Richard came to Miller.
Miller showed what he found and also found footprint evidence of a Fast Biter, Longneck, and Sharptooth.
Richard and Miller begin to suspect the hatchlings they rescued, are witnesses to a possible crime scene.
" Are you thinking what I am thinking?" Miller asks.
" Yes. " Richard said, as he looks at the scene and begins predicting what happened.
" Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo are upset they are being investigated for the murder of Sharptooth's mate and hatchlings. And by seeing what happened here, they were planning an attack against the Valley. They tried to fast track it, but four hatchlings saw what they were doing, they got caught, they were captured and bond, they lit a campfire and began to think of what to do, they decided to murder the hatchlings, but then one of them accidentally knocked over a gasoline can, as it spilled onto the camp fire, the fire spread, they tried to put it out, but it got too intense, too fast, that they ran off, and left the hatchlings to die. Then a Swimmer came told us the about the fire, and now here we are." Richard told his prediction.
Richard and Miller told the team and the others what they found. They begin heading back to HQ with the small hatchlings in tow.
Richard and Miller now know they have uncovered not only the cause of fire, but also an attempt murder, and also an attempt plot by Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo to attack the Valley.
Richard and the team begin another clock to capture Utah, Argentino, and Tarbo.
