Coming Closer

Chapter 5

"So, have you talked to Maxie yet?" Robin asked as she sat on the ledge of the pool and placed her feet in the water. Patrick had gotten up early that morning to go help his brother who was not handling his break up with Maxie so well.

It had only been three days and it was understandable for Matt to be reeling after Maxie confessed to cheating on the young doctor in true Maxie fashion. After the little outburst and cat food incident Maxie had fessed up and the dinner party had quickly rapped up and the two couples left, along with the blonde. It seemed Maxie had been planning his for some time and already had an apartment lined up for herself.

"She texted me about lunch plans on Monday." Sam answered as she walked around the shallow end of the pool, while she pulled Alex around by him arms who was wearing his Spiderman lifejacket. Brie was nearby showing off her swimming skills thanks to her swimming lessons.

"That's it? She hasn't mentioned anything to you?" Robin questioned as she kicked her feet back and forth.

"No, I thought it would be best to give her some space." Sam answered as she glanced at her sister, "I have had enough to deal with this new detective."

"The FBI guy?"

"Yes, he has already had a search warrant produced for the coffee shop, the restaurant and Sonny's house." Sam sighed, "Diane thinks our house might be next."

"How could he have gotten those so quickly? I mean there hasn't been any major activity, has there?"

"No, the business has been the quietest it's been in a long time. That's what I don't understand, there is no reason for the police to been searching any location. Jason thinks it's just the PCPD's way of throwing their weight around."

"Can't you ask Mom or Dad what is going on?"

"I don't want them to get involved. I don't want to put them in a position like that." Sam answered honestly as she lifted Alex out of the water and back into it which caused the toddler to burst out in giggles.

"I understand, but you know Dad would want to know if someone was abusing their power." Robin reminded her as she slipped into the pool.

"It's just a new guy wanting to take down Jason and Sonny to further his career. Same thing that always happens." Sam frowned, "How are you and Patrick doing?"

"Really good." The doctor answered as she couldn't help but smile, "Ever since I told him I was pregnant, he's been so attentive." She continued, "Is that why you were always pushing them out? So Jason would cater to you?"

"Our children were a product of Jason being too attentive." Sam laughed as Aubree swam up to Robin and climbed up on to her back.

"I just can't help but feel that I am getting my hopes up again." Robin admitted after a moment as she placed a kiss on Aubree's forehead, "I just have wanted this for so long and can't believe that it is happening."

"You are going to be an amazing mother and nothing is going to happen to this baby. I am going to promise you the most stress free pregnancy, you could have." Sam declared as stared Robin in the eyes.

"You are the best sister ever." Robin declared as she swam towards Sam with Brie holding onto her Aunt.

"Just don't tell the other three that, I don't want a hit put out on me." Sam laughed.

Jason moved to the fridge and pulled two cold beers out and moved towards the island where Carly was already waiting for him. He opened his, took a long sip and moved to sit next to his friend. Carly had barged into the house ten minutes ago on a mission and Jason was not in the mood deal with the blonde's actions.

"Jase, I need a favor." Blonde declared as she took a grabbed the bottle.

"When don't you need something?" Jason asked as he looked at his best friend.

"Sonny said he would only agree if you did too. He said that he doesn't want to go down that road again, unless he has someone in the same position." Carly rambled as she took a quick sip.

"Of course he did." Jason sighed as he looked at the blonde, "I think I would rather eat cat food again."

"When did you eat cat food?" Carly asked as he changed the subject, "I know that it wasn't at Maxie's dinner party. Sam warned you before that happened."

"How do you know that?"

"Maxie wanted to go drown her sorrows and since one sister is knocked up and the other is too busy taking care of your brood and you. She choose to go out with Lulu and I."

"So why don't you go ask her to do you a favor?"

"That was not Sonny's condition." Carly demanded as she slapped her hand down, "We don't have much time for this plan to work."

"Why is it time sensitive?" Jason asked.

"Because Sam said no more kids after thirty and she turns thirty in two months."

"I know when my wife's birthday is."

"Oh please, you haven't even planned her party yet." Carly laughed a she winked at Jason, "No need to worry on that front. Maxie and I already have that in the works."

"Sam doesn't like big flashy parties." Jason argued, "I plan on taking her and the kids to Hawaii for her birthday."

"No, she needs to be here for her birthday party."

"You can move the party to a different day."

"You really think that Sam is going to want to spend hours on a flight with three kids." Carly insisted as she leaned against the counter.

"Are we talking about the same person? Sam lives for those kids." Jason insisted as he watched the blonde's smile grow.

"Which leads me back to what I need from you. Sam lives for those kids and what do you think she is going to do when they all start school."

"Alex is three and Aria just turned two."

"Joss just turned five and is starting kindergarten in the fall. My only girl is growing up so fast and Morgan is living in San Francisco with some flossy."

"Please tell me what you want." Jason just wanted this conversation to end so he could spend time with Sam and the kids.

"I want the same thing you want. I want a baby."

"I am not giving you a baby." Jason yelled as he slammed his beer down, "I don't care how close we are, that is not happening."

"I don't want your baby, I want Sonny's and he won't give me one unless you have one too." Carly explained as if she was talking to a child.

"I am not involving myself in one of your plans."

"Jason, we both know you want to have another baby and we both know that Sam is done having children at thirty which is fast approaching." Carly smiled as she stood up and grabbed her coat, "You will come to me when you see the light." She winked as she strolled out of the room.

"So are we going to the party at Spoon Island?" Robin asked as they as they walked through the front door of the PCPD. Robin and Sam went to visit their father for lunch, to break the news of Maxie and Matt's breakup.

"We?" Sam asked as she pushed the stroller into the room.

"Family unity and everything. I am not going to that witch's party if you aren't going." Robin answered as she decided to change her language the moment she glanced the two children that were in the stroller.

"You want to see if she is lying." Sam summed up a she glanced at her sister, "It's been two years and she did spend some time in Shadybrook." Sam explained as she they were told to wait a moment, that Mac was in a meeting, "Plus their daughter is in the same preschool as Aria and they are friends."

"So in other words we are going to the party." Robin smiled as a well-dressed man walked towards the four.

"Can I help you ladies?" The man smiled as he came to a stop in front of the women, as his blue eyes scanned Robin, the kids and then to Sam.

"You can actually do your job and stop your witch hunt of innocent people." Sam demanded as she glared at the man. She was all too familiar with who this man was and what he was after.

"I am at a disadvantage. You know who I am and I don't have the pleasure of knowing your name." The man insisted as he place his hand out.

"You are the ex FBI agent that is targeting my husband."

"Carly Corinthos." The man guessed, "I am Ian Davis." He introduced to himself to Robin.

"It's Samantha Morgan." Sam corrected.

"Well the more reasonable one." Ian smiled, "Mrs. Morgan, I am simply doing my job and making sure that a man is coming to justice for a crime that he committed."

"No crimes have been committed here."

"Not here, years ago."

"So personal interest in a case. I bet our father would love to hear about this." Sam muttered as she glanced at Robin.

"I would be very careful about what I would do if I were you." The man warned, "You have kids to think about." Ian warned he walked out and as Mac called out for the girls to join him.
