Coming Closer

Chapter 6- Support

Sam lifted Aria in her arms and grabbed the diaper bag with the other, "Alex, stay right there." Sam cautioned as she shut the door of the black Armada with her hip before she reached out to grab Alex's hand and headed towards the mini mansion.

"Mommy, we go see Planes." Alex sighed as he looked up at his mother with a look that reminded Sam of her sister, Maxie.

"We go when we go." Aria frowned as she looked down at her older brother as Sam knocked on the door.

"We are." Sam promised as she knocked on the door, "I just have to see Uncle Sonny." Sam continued as the door opened to show a surprise looking Sonny.

"Sam, why are you knocking?" He asked as he flashed his famous dimples.

"I wanted to make sure you were free, I can come back." Sam muttered as Sonny opened the door so that the three could come in.

"I always have time for my family." Sonny said dismissively as he grew worried at Sam's face, "You know, I just picked up some brownies from Kelly's, why don't you two go see how good they are?" Sonny smiled down to the kids as he took Aria from Sam and gave her a kiss on the cheek before he set her down and the toddlers headed towards the kitchen.

"Alone in the kitchen?"

"Carly is already in there with Joss and Brie." Sonny motioned for Sam to sit down, "Now, tell me what is happening?"

"How much trouble is this new cop going to be?" Sam asked her own question, "Is he a real threat?"

"He is trying to further his career by attempting to take us down." Sonny explained, "I think of him more as a thorn in our side." He walked over to the corner bar and made two drinks.

"Really?" Sam asked as Sonny handed her a glass.

"What is this really about?"

"I went to visit my Dad and had a run in with the guy."

"Sam, what did he do?"

"I came to you first because I knew Jason would overact, I need you to promise me that you aren't going to do anything." Sam begged.

"Sam, tell me." Sonny demanded.

"He warned me to stay out of it, if I didn't want to involve my kids."

"Going after the Carly and I is one thing, but the kids." Sonny hissed as he threw his glass into the fireplace.

"He was doing it do get a reaction from you." Sam argued as she set her glass down before moving to the older man's side, "This guy is making it personal, which makes me believe that it is personal for him." Sam continued as she placed an arm on his.

"Sam." Sonny warned as he turned to look at her in the eye.

"We need to find out everything we can about him." Sam pushed, "I can do that."

"You will stay out of this. The business is not something you need to be involved in right now."

"Do not order me about." Sam snapped, "Tell me what is happening." She demanded as kept her eyes locked with his, "You know if you don't tell me, Jason will at some point."

"There is a new family moving in on my territory, they are not making it easy for me to keep a low profile." Sonny finally answered as the sound of the front door slamming open interrupted their conversation.

"You have been really quite." Damion observed as he sat down on the couch next to Emily as she held their daughter.

"I told Sam the only reason we were coming back was because Grandfather had offered you a job ELQ in the city." Emily confessed.

"I figured that was the case, this is my story to tell." Damion nodded as she watched Emily place Ryann into her carrier. The three were only two hours into the journey to Port Charles, the trip was made easier thanks to the use of the Quartermaine's private plane.

"How are you even going to tell her? She is going to be heartbroken."

"She wasn't too fond of me, so maybe she wouldn't miss me too much." Damion sighed as he flashed a sad smile.

"You are making it sound as if you are leaving her life. I mean you are still going to be around because of Ryann." Emily tried to comfort.

"It's not going to be the same though, I thought that I had finally found the family that I had always wanted." Damion frowned.

"You are still going to have that family." Emily promised as she leaned her head against his shoulder, "I promise you that." She added as she placed a kiss on his shoulder.

"I hope so." Damion frowned as he leaned his head against Emily's and looked out the window.

"I thought that we were supposed to be avoiding stress." Patrick mentioned as he watched Robin pace back and forth the living room of her parents' house.

"I am avoiding stress." Robin snapped, "Who does that man think he is?" She asked as she took a seat next to her husband.

"Is that what we are here to talk to your parents about?" Patrick asked not really following Robin's rambles.

"We are telling them about me having your child." Robin answered, "I am talking to you about the man that is threating our family."

"Sam told you she was going to handle things." Patrick advised.

"She said that to make sure I don't worry. I think we should tell my Mom and Dad." Robin proposed.

"We should wait a few days and then mention something to your parents. Let's wait and see if Sam tells them first."

"So, what do we owe this visit for?" Alexis asked as she walked into the living room carrying a plate of cheese and crackers and Mac followed behind carrying a bottle of wine and four glasses.

"We have some news that we wanted to share with you." Robin smiled as she grabbed a snack.

"Well at least someone has good news for me today." Mac sighed as he sat down, "First, you two visit me to tell be about Maxie and then Maxie stops by to tell me about Maxie."

"This is going to make you happy." Robin smiled as Patrick grabbed her hand.

"Don't keep us in suspense." Alexis grinned.

"Patrick and I are going to have a baby." Robin blurted out as Alexis shot up and pulled her daughter into a hug.

"Everything is okay?" Mac asked unsure as joined the hug, he remember how hard her last pregnancy had been and never wanted his daughter to have to go through that again.

"Everything is perfect and we are going to make sure it stays that way." Patrick answered as he looked his father-in-law in the eye.

"This calls for a celebration, I say the four of us get a table at the Metro Court." Alexis declared as she pulled her phone out and started to dial.

"Do you know if you are having a boy?" Mac asked the doctor, "Jason has given me one boy and he is too much like his father and Maxie."

"I can almost promise you that I will give you a son that you can mold." Patrick promised as he shook Mac's hand.

As soon as Carly had heard the door open, she had run from the kitchen and into the parlor. She had called Jason the moment that she had heard the glass breaking in the other room and told him to get there as soon as he could. Carly knew that whatever Sam had told Sonny was bad news and that Jason should have been there.

"Where are they?" Jason asked as worried shown through his eyes.

"In the living room." Carly answered, "I don't know what is going on. I was in the kitchen with the girls when Alex and Aria came in." She explained, "I stayed in the kitchen with kids, I didn't want them to hear anything."

"Can you keep an eye on them for a minute?" Jason asked as his eyes moves towards the closed living room door.

"Why don't I take them to the movies and drop them off when I am done." Carly proposed.

"You are the best." Jason added as he placed a kiss on her cheek before he entered the living room to see Sonny standing in front of fireplace with Sam standing at his side, "Sam."

"Jase." Sam turned shocked to see her husband in the room, "What are you doing here?" She asked as she walked towards him.

"Carly called." Jason answered as he pulled Sam into his arms, "What is going on?"

"That cop is digging himself a shallow grave." Sonny answered as turned to face the two.

"By doing what?" Jason questioned as he released Sam from his grasped and moved to place an arm around her shoulder, "Someone talk now!"

"I had a little run in at the PCPD with the new FBI agent." Sam answered before Sonny could get the chance.

"What the hell did he say to you?" Jason asked as he looked Sam in the eye.

"I started it. He came over and I gave him a piece of my mind about him coming after you." Sam blabbed as she pulled away from Jason.

"What did he tell you?"

"I should be careful about what I say because I have kids to think about." Sam answered with a frown.

"That bastard threatened our children!" Jason shouted as his eyes grew a dark blue, "I will kill him." Jason threatened.

"I came to Sonny first because I didn't want you to have this reaction." Sam frowned as she tried to calm Jason down.

"What reaction would be good for when my children are threatened?" Jason yelled

"You are allowed to be angry and want to do something. Sam is just worried about how you are going to react." Sonny interrupted as he moved to face his best friend.

"I am going to kill that man." Jason declared.

"Jase." Sam said in a quite tone as she tried to get his attention, "Look at me." Sam demanded as she stood on her toes and grabbed his chin so that he had to look at her, "The kids and I are not hurt, it was just words."

"You could have been." Jason growled as he looked down at her and tried to control his emotions.

"You promised me that you would always be with me. That you would never take any risks that would take you away from our family and leave me alone." Sam mumbled she pulled her hands away.

"I don't break my promises." Jason affirmed as he grabbed Sam's hand before she could get too far. He used their linked hands to bring him to her, "I will never allow anything to take you away from me." Jason declared as he pulled her into a tight hug.

"Please don't go after this man." Sam begged, "Let my father handle this." Sam sighed as she looked away from Jason.

"You are going to tell your father?" Jason asked as he pushed a stray hair away from her face, as she nodded.

"Jason, let Mac handle this. He and Alexis are in a better position to do this." Sonny offered, "The best thing we can do is live our lives and let the man wait for a mistake that isn't going to happen."

"Which will lead to him getting sloppy and a reason for him to be kicked out of the PCPD." Sam concluded with a small smile.

"I am agreeing to this for the moment." Jason frowned as he placed a kiss on Sam's forehead.

"Crap, I was supposed to take the kids to the movies." Sam blurted out as she suddenly realized her earlier plans.

"Carly, took the four of them to the movies and is going to drop them off later." Jason smirked as he finally go into a better mood, "We need to get home." Jason nodded towards Sonny as he bent down to pick Sam up and quickly headed towards the front door.
