Well I am back, I hope to stick to a twice monthly update schedule, but sadly no promises. Now we must march forward. Also I played the new Fallout 4 DLC Automation and I just have to say I love it, I have a robot companion that is half Sentry bot and half Assualtron with a large saw hand and a minigun. It made me think of an old idea for a fallout 4 and mass effect crossover where the brotherhood heading back to the Capitol Wasteland are attacked by Synth remnants and are forced to use the Molecular Transporter and end up on Omega in the Prydwen. Does it sound like a good story, I might try it sometime.
Anyway onto the battle raging across the lower levels of Omega!

The lower levels of Omega were a warzone as Blood Pack and Eclipse tried to fight back against the Atlas forces advancing across their territory as a tide of rage. ASTs marched their deliberate steps across battlefields firing their smoothbore cannons at YMIR mechs as their machine guns tore through the armor of LOKIs as their swarming missiles struck pockets of infantry while troopers moved from cover to cover firing bursts as they picked off the left overs.
Atlas infantry sprinted across railways and overhead platforms using jump jets, grappling hooks, and thier enhanced jumping capabilities to out maneuver the outclassed merc forces, who were not trained for this kind of warfare. The mercs were mostly trained for small combats between mostly a hundred or so troops, like most of the galaxies' standing armies except the Turians and Humans. The Atlas forces kept pushing forward and securing as much area as they could before the mercs could put up a stiff resistance.
Unfortunately the mercs managed to resist the onslaught enough to cause the one-sided fight to become a grind between the two groups as Atlas held the line as the superior training and equipment allowed them to hold against the waves of Vorcha and mechs thy kept throwing at them.
Mitchell Grayson was holding a corridor with five others as a horde of thirteen Vorcha charged towards them under the direction of a Krogan Warlord who would send Warps at them from cover. "Hey guys, think we should check to see if the galaxy is ending?" He joked as he fired another burst from his ARX-160 at another Vorcha, hitting it's flamethrower pack and causing it to explode sending flaming bits of shrapnel around it killing two others while breaking another's shields allowing it to die by a single shot to the skull right between it's eyes.
"Why?" Will Mason asked as he fired his MDL at a cluster of Vorcha next to the Warlord. Mitchell laughed, "Right across from us is an intelligent Krogan, if anything that has to be a sign of the apocalypse if you ask me." He tossed a threta grenade to see the number of hostiles, a staggering fourty-six Vorcha and six Krogan. "Fuck me, anyone have an idea on how to deal with this?"
"Attention all Atlas personel, fall back to point Delta, we have secured our beachhead. I repeat, fall back to point Delta." The team looked at each other. "You heard the man boys, grenade barrage then we pull back." The team loaded loaded grenades, four loaded frags while the other two loaded explosive drones. They all fired at once into the enemy position and sprinted back as bullets pinged around them.
Across the station troopers fell back with the mercs hot on their heels thinking they managed to force them to retreat, only to stop at the heavily defended walls covered Amelis and XMGs with four MAHEMs for anti-YMIR support. The resulting wave of fire into the merc forces shattered any attempts at charging the barricades and pre-fabricated walls.

After another short battle at the walls the Atlas forces solidified their control of the two docks and the surrounding area while the mercs nursed thier wounds and losses. Kevin stepped off his personal aircar and looked at the newly established base as doctors teneded to the wounded and troopers moved about either on duty or relaxing after the fight. Several soldiers noticed him walking through the base and saluted or waved as he marched towards the command center.
"We have taken a considerable amount of territory from them but the problem is maintaining our control of the area. I want a couple patrols through the streets to keep order and make sure any thugs or criminals don't try to take advantage of the turmoil." Commander Marcus Desmound barked out to his subcommanders as he looked over a tac-map of the area with thier area marked in blue, the civilian areas bordering the fight in green and the merc's territory in red with lights blinking in and out where fights had been breaking out between the two forces even as more intel was sent in and compiled for his oversight.
He noticed Kevin at the door, "Sir, we have secured a good amount of terrain surrounding the beachheads and are in the process of securing our hold. I hope that by tomorrow we can have everyone go about thier business safely."
Kevin nodded and looked over the map. The area was well secured as even small access tunnels were checked and if necessary sealed to prevent infiltration. There were fortunately few civilian injuries and no deaths so they didn't need to worry about that when the galaxy at large heard about the large scale invasion of Omega by Atlas. Kevin didn't have a doubt that the Council and their other outspoken detractors would jump on this and try to use it against them.
"As soon as you can start doing something to rebuild the area, we are going to have people say that we shouldn't have attacked the Terminus Systems so we are going to need something to show for our efforts, other then that Commander continue the good work, I am going to take a quick tour of the base then I have to deal with paperwork, and I hate paperwork." With that Kevin left and walked through the base nodding to the men and women around him as he checked up on the armory and barracks, making sure that nothing was missing from their inventory or was required. Walking out he stepped to the side as an AST marched past.
Turning he noticed a small group of children watching from the entrance to an apartment building as they stared in awe at all the soldiers in armor and the ASTs moving with a purpose. He chuckled as they were ushered inside by a old female Turian who looked at him and smiled as she turned to return inside.

On Kevin's return to New Bagdad Kevin headed to his office he grabbed a DR. Pepper from his fridge and looked over some progress reports for various projects and research teams and operations in the field. Ceamus entered his office and placed a sheet of paper in front of him, most people couldn't understand Kevin's requirement that all highly classified reports and projects were to be on paper but he had his reasons, mainly that you could hack into paper files from outside the room.
"Kevin, we found her but I don't understand why. Also, what by the Spirits is the Manticore Project?" He stared at Kevin with an intense stare. Kevin sighed and stood. He headed to a large painting of the Normandy Landing. Stepping two feet from the right side of the painting he laid his hand on the wall, unlocking a hidden door with his palm print.
They stepped into the room as the door sealed behind them and hundreds of electonical counter-measures activated. Inside the room was a single computer with a USB drive inside. Kevin activated the computer and persued the files, finding the one he wanted Kevin clicked on the file.
Ceamus looked at the project's end goal and he was stunned at the implecations. "Kevin, why do you have something like this. We could never use something like this. Even if all of our people were okay with this, the galaxy at large most certainly wouldn't be!" He turned to Kevin but was suprised at the look on Kevin's face, it was one of worry and gloom, a look he had never seen on his boss' face ever.
"Ceamus, that is where you are wrong. There will be a time we will need to use the Manticore Project as it will possibly be the tide turner in a war beyond anything this galaxy has seen yet."
Kevin stepped over to a chair and sat heavily, gesturing to the chair across from him Kevin spoke, "In 2169 I woke in an alley in New York City on Earth with just the clothes on my back and two objects, a note and an USB, that USB in fact. The note was from a being that dragged me across time, space, and possibly universes to that spot just for his entertainment."
Caemus Interrupted him at that, "What do you mean Kevin? Time, Space, and Universes, how by the Spirits is that possible!" Kevin poured two glasses of alcohol as he continued to explain, "When I was younger there was a TV show called Star Trek, I never liked it but my dad and sister did. I remembera being on the show called Q, he was of a trans-dimensional race who could easily alter the very fabric of reality to his whims. I believe that a similiar being dropped me here, a place where in my reality was just a video game that I had played many times."
Taking a deep swig of the drink in his hand, Kevin sighed and spoke again, "A game where a Human named Shepard stops a Spectre named Saren who falls under the control of a race of AIs called Reapers who will attempt to erradicate all sentient organic life in a foolish belief that they are saving organic life from synthetics."
Caemus, confused at this explaination asked, "If this is true why not go to the Council and warn them of the danger? It could save lives." Kevin just gave a mocking laugh at that, "Do you think they would believe some random stranger off the street or ingnore me and maybe cause me to just disappear without listening to my warnings, in the game and what I have seen since I was brought here the Council don't react well when things change their world view, they have ingored many warning signs in their history so I didn't bother trying."
Kevin chuckled and poured another glass and took sip and looked away almost as if he was remembering something, "Many people wrote fan stories about what they would do if they were brought here, of course almost all of them would have used the tech I was given to join Shepard's crew on the Normandy to fight against Saren and the Geth in 2183. I chose an option that would help the greater galaxy as with a large amount men equipped with our gear will be able to turn the tide against the Reapers when the time comes to fight them. I suppose I could have just hooked up with Shepard but I wanted to do something more."
"So I created Atlas, a legitimate Privateer Military Company unlike the scum of the Terminus like the Blood Pack and Blue Suns. I worked hard to make sure no one with ties to criiminals or the Shadow Broker or groups like Cerberus got their hooks into this company. I searched for investors and people to do research and development of our gear and weapons. I got men and women like you to train our men. I developed connections."
Caemus looked at Kevin and nodded, "So what do we do now, where do we go from here? I know we can't just tell people but there has to be something we can do."
"We prepare ourselves, the Council Races are advancing in technology even if they find us a threat what with the laser weapons and private carrier vessels. The galaxy is being changed by a small change so hopefully they won't be easy pickings for the Reapers, who are far more advanced then us in the Ezzo tech department."
Deactivating the security measues Kevin walked out when he noticed a message on his desk, playing the message he listen, "Mr. Irons, Purgatory is entering the system now for your meeting."
Caemus looked at Kevin confusion as Kevin sent a message for his aircar to be prepared for him, gesturing to Caemus to follow him Kevin took off down the corridor towards the airpad. "I intend on shaking up some of the events from the game in our favor, I need to gain someone from Warden Kuril."
On the airpad was a team of Atlas Biotic Troopers, Atlas' specialist unit of dealing with and using Biotics on the battlefield. Kevin grinned, "Alright boys and girls, I am picking up a very important package on the Purgatory. I want that package here by the end of the day even if we have to sieze control of the ship and take it for ourselves. Now lets go and get this job done."
The squad nodded and headed on the aircar with Kevin and Caemus trailing. They quickly arrived onboard the prison ship and exiting to meet a security team, one of whom raised a hand and said, "I am sorry but no weapons beyond this point, Sir. I am sorry about this but it's protocol."
Kevin stepped forward and nodded, "I understand it's protocol but my personal protocol is not to go anywhere without an armed security escort. An Atlas Security escort, sorry to say but no we will not be leaving our weapons behind after all our two companies are having a little disagreement so I am being just a little wary of being here, I am sure you can understand."
Before the guard could speak a Turian entered the room and spoke, "It is ok, Greg. I promised Mr. Irons that he would be allowed to have his personal security team to keep their weapons for this little transaction." The Turian was a tannish-grey bareface in medium Blue Suns armor. He nodded to Kevin and gestured for him to follow as they past the security check point to head deeper into the ship's corridor.
As they walked Kuril spoke about his great ship and mission statement of keeping the worst scum of the galaxy penned up in space while Kevin and Caemus more or less tuned him out until they reached a room with a cyro-pod hooked up to a supply of gases on a cargo-lift ready to go.
Kevin surveyed the pod walking all around it marveling that the innocent looking pod was containing his prize. He checked to insure it held his prize and after he was sure it was the real deal he sent the last payment to Kuril who nodded his head and his men started to move the pod to the hangar to be transported to the surface. Kevin shook hands with Kuril and left the ship.
After a half hour of making sure that the pod could be opened safely Kevin hit the button. The pod opened and gases hissed out of the opening as a figure fell out onto the floor, disoriented. The figure was a Human woman who was naked except for a loose pair of pants and a holster strap that barely covered her nipples and was covered in dozens of intricate tattoos covering nearly all her skin.
She shook herself awake from the cryo-freezing and rubbed her shaven head as she noticed a man standing before her in a suit. She jumped up to attack him only to notice several soldiers with guns of various makes aimed at her. The suit stepped forward and smiled, "Hello Jack, I have a tempting offer for you..."
Now I am definetly going to shake up a few things to make it interesting also dragons guard I don't know about Kevin having a love interest, my own love life kinda sucks my last girlfriend had her pet iguana attack me to break up with me.
edric2016underwood: i know the Illusive Man wasn't great but there are just so many ways he has been presented to people in fanfiction and really even his canon personality is weak. He really just had powerful people in high places and ways to keep himself hidden.
Now please read and review and tell me if the Fallout 4 story idea was a good idea I might try to do it to keep myself to take breaks from Mass Effect: Advanced Warfare
