You wince as Jack touches your wing.
"Ouch!"
"Sorry" Jack sighed "your wing is fractured, ya might have ta go to the hospital"
You flare your good wing in fright, knocking Jack on the ground.
"Oh! S-Sorry, I don't mean to hit you!" You say "I just don't want to go to the hospital..."
Jack laughed. "It's fine, I understand"
"You do?"
"Yeah, ya don't want the hospital ta find out about your wings"
You nod and look away.
"I'm scared that they'll take me away and I'll never get to see her again"
"Her?" Jack ask's "Who's her?"
You smile and laugh.
"Zenobia" you say " she's the one who saved me when my parents abandoned me"
You look into Jack's crystal blue eyes.
"You have the same eyes"
Jack blushed and pushed up his glasses. "T-thank ya, I guess"
You giggle. He was adorable when he gets flustered.
"So what are we going ta do about your wing" Jack asked "if ya don't want ta go to the hospital, and... your scratches...!"
"What about them"
"T-there healing!" Jack said. He shook his head in amazement as the last few scratches disappeared. "How'd ya do that!"
"what do you mean, this is normal, right?" You look at him, confused. You've always been able to heal minor things like cuts and bruises in a matter of minutes. You couldn't understand why he was so surprised.
Jack just shook his head. "No, that's definitely not normal" he smiled "but it's really freaking cool!"
"Really!?"
"Hell yeah!"
You both fall into a fit of laughter that continued until you were laying on the floor, tears streaming down your faces.
You gaze out the window at the stars and Jack intertwined his fingers with yours.
Wait a second. Stars?
How long has Jack been here?
You turn your head to ask him, but he was fast asleep.
You smile, pushing some of his green hair out of his eyes and, with a little difficulty, layed him on the couch. You pull a blanket over him and put his glasses on a small coffee table.
"Good night, Jackaboy" you whisper.
