Hey, it's been a while.
This isn't a new chapter. I wanted to update those of you who may still be following this story on what has happened and what is to come.
The past few years have been chaotic for me. On a whim, I opened up fanfiction again for the first time in a long while. Reading the reviews for this story gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, I am touched by how much those of you that left a review enjoyed my story. On the other, I feel a bit ashamed for having abandoned it.
I know how frustrating it is when a story dies. I know how sad it is when an author I enjoyed suddenly goes dark. I am sorry that I let you guys down like that. I want to be better. I will be.
On that note, I am going to be continuing this story. I will also be reworking the chapters that are currently published.
I was a bit dissatisfied when reading over my work again. Not only are there easily recognizable grammatical mistakes, but it feels a bit rushed. I planned most of the major plot-points well in advance. While this gave me a good foundation to work on, to me it reads like I was trying to rush past the foundational parts of the story to get to the meatier content I had planned for the future. That isn't how a good story is supposed to be written. A good story is fun to read from start to finish; it makes you invested in the characters and their goals. I want my story to be a slow burn with juicy payoffs. If I'm doing it right, there will never be a point where you feel bored and every player will have a purpose.
On that note, I will be substantially adding to the earlier chapters while staying true to the original vision I had for this story. I want to make this a story that I can be proud of and you can love.
I look forward to seeing the world we build together.
