I apologize for the late update, but I had a few things to take care of.
I now am studying and had to get settled in first, before I could return to my passion and joy.
One Hunt after the Next
At dawn Naruko stood at the gate waiting for Jiraiya. She started meditating and after a while the man showed up.
"Good you're here already," Jiraiya said.
"Come on, we have to go."
"So who are we looking for?" Naruko asked with mild curiosity.
"The legendary Kunoichi and healer Senju Tsunade."
Naruko's face darkened.
"My godmother. Where is she?"
"We don't know but knowing her she will be near a casino. Especially as her nickname still holds strong in my circle of informants."
"Senju Tsunade. Princess of the noble house of Senju. Holder of the Slug Summoning Contract. After the deaths of her brother and fiancé, who both died in the line of duty, she left the village and tried to drown her sorrow and depression in alcohol. She tried to distract herself from her thoughts and turned to gambling. Her reputation of losing quickly exceeded her and she became renowned as the 'The Legendary Sucker'. If you ask me she should just pull her act together. People die, it's the price of living. They went into battle and got killed. It is the first rule of nature, Survival of the Fittest. They weren't strong enough and they died. People like her make me sick. They think because of a few bad things that happened in their lives, they are the poorest people around. It's disgusting," she said with a sneer.
Naruko was pissed, she was grateful for Jiraiya to take her on a training trip and to look for a healer to help the old man, but Senju Tsunade was pushing the boundaries of acceptable sadness. Naruko made a few hundred Shadow Clones and had them run to all gambling establishments in Fire Country. They started walking to a town.
After renting a room the Toad Sage left Naruko to her own devices. Naruko laid down on a bed and started to read a scroll about the Uzumaki Fuinjutsu. After some time, she sensed to very strong chakra signatures. She smelled the air and started to growl. She smelled the stench of an Uchiha. There were only two other Uchiha she knew about were Uchiha Madara, the man she had to thank for the loss of her parents, and Uchiha Itachi, prodigy of the Uchiha Clan and one of her childhood ANBU guards.
'Whatever they want, it won't be charity. Itachi-nii is an S class criminal in the Bingo Book, wanted in every country. I could wait for Kyofu, but I do not know when he will be back. So while I wait they could break down the door and get to me… Or I could do a transformation and pretend to be a bodily entertainer. With a Shadow Clone I could have it pose as my client. That might throw them off, but if Itachi uses Sharingan he might see through everything and that would blow my cover… If I straight out attack him, I might be able to alert all Shinobi in the area, but I would have to hold my own against Itachi and his partner. Something I don't think I could do… If I summon a dragon of the Warrior Guild, I may win the battle, but the entire town would be destroyed in the process. And that is something I do not want to be responsible for… Maybe if I could get them into the Hunting Realm… Yes that could work….'
With a feral grin she transformed into a voluptuous brunette and created two Shadow Clones. One transformed into an equally attractive darker brunette woman and the other hid in the shadows and prepared the transportation.
She heard a knocking from the door.
"I'm coming," she said.
Thanks to the abilities her Forest Serpent blood gave her, she could change her voice without the use of chakra. She walked to the door and opened it. She looked outside and saw two men wearing black trench coats with red clouds on them. They also had straw hats on their heads.
"Hello how may I be of service, Shinobi-san?" she said with a smile.
"Itachi, you sure we got the right room?"
"Please come in, me and my sister lived here ever since the hotel opened. We know every new customer here. We would be glad to help. Would you like some tea while we talk?"
Luckily, Itachi did not have his Sharingan active and was not suspicious enough to use.
"Thank you. We will take you up on that offer," they replied indifferently.
They entered the room and Naruko's clone brought the tea.
"Allow me to introduce ourselves, my name is Diju Nahiku, and this is my sister Diju Niori. So who are you looking for, Shinobi-san?"
"We are looking for these two people."
He showed her a picture of her and Jiraiya.
"We were told they live in this hotel."
"Oh yes. I know the man. He said he would look around the town and then come by for an overnight stay. He even paid in advance."
She showed them a hand full of high Ryo notes.
"Man, you ladies must be quite talented, to get such a reward in advance," Itachi's partner said.
"Well anyway. The two you are looking for are somewhere in the town."
Just then the scenery changed.
Hunting Realm
Naruko created an army of clones. They all drew their bows and an arrow. They aimed at the two rogue ninja.
"Uchiha Itachi. First born of the head family of the Uchiha Clan. S rank Nuke Nin of Konoha Gakure no Sato. Holder of the Mangekyo Sharingan. You fled the village after killing of the entirety of your clan, with the exception of your little brother Uchiha Sasuke. The reason, the Uchiha were planning an uprising against the village. You are a highly experienced ninja and were ANBU Captain by the age of thirteen. You, having unlocked Mangekyo Sharingan, have the power to trap anyone in the Genjutsu world of Tsukuyomi, but also have the powers of the Amaterasu as well. You are the current holder of one of the two summoning contracts of the Uchiha, the Crow Contract.
Hoshigaki Kisame, Kirigakure no Kaijin (Monster of the Hidden Mist), O o Motanai Biju (Tailed Beast without a Tail). Member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, you are the current holder of Samehada (Sharkskin) a powerful blade that will cut its opponents to shreds while feeding on their chakra. You are an S class Nuke Nin hailing from the Village Hidden in the Mist. You are the holder of the Shark Summoning Contract and were a former member of Kiri's Cypher Division.
Tell me, did I miss something? Now please, tell me, what do two S class Nuke Nin want with me?"
Her tone was even and her gaze unbroken.
"Uzumaki Namikaze Naruko, you will be coming with us," Itachi said monotonously.
He activated his Sharingan but instantly deactivated it.
"Such a lowly Genjutsu will not work on me. So do you want to tell me why you are here, or shall I torture you by piercing your limbs with my arrows?"
"We were sent here to gather the Jinchuuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox."
"I'm sorry to tell you this, but there is no more a Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi."
She grinned and revealed her true form, her five tails swaying.
"I am the Kyuubi, and I am not going to let you harm my kin. Now why do you want the Biju?"
Naruko and all of her clones were blasting the two with KI.
"We are ordered to capture the Jinchuuriki and bring them in for extraction of the Biju."
"Who ordered you?"
"We do not know his name, but we do know that he is powerful. He is the founder of the Akatsuki."
Again Naruko grinned.
"Tell me Uchiha Itachi, would you be willing to make a deal with a demon?"
The two ninja tensed.
"I could bring back your mother and make sure your name would be wiped clean, you would have your life back… The life you once had. Hoshigaki Kisame, I could give you a home, protection and freedom. I could give you the chance at a new life. Will you take me up on this offer, or will you die fighting a hopeless battle which you could only loose."
"That is quite the offer, Naruko. But what would you gain out of this bargain?"
"Information about the Akatsuki, and another member to the clan of Uzumaki."
"I see. I accept your deal. Please, bring my mother to Sasuke. Kisame and I will provide you with information, you make sure what is left of my clan, is safe."
"Agreed."
Real World
"I trust you will not betray me. Now leave before Jiraiya comes."
The two nodded and dashed away. Seconds later Jiraiya appeared.
"Naruko, is everything all right?"
"Yes, everything is fine. Should there have been something?" she replied with faked ignorance.
"No, no… I just thought…"
"Well, did you find out where Tsunade-sama is?" she asked, slowly growing agitated.
"Yes, it appears she is headed to a gambling metropole called Tanzaku Gai."
Naruko gat a throb of pain in her head as a clone dispelled. Soon after all the other teams dispelled except one.
"Yes, my clones have spotted her in Tanzaku Gai. But they also found your old teammate, Orochimaru. Seems like he is having problems with his two arms." she laughed.
"So, we heading out or we still staying overnight?"
"We'll head out at dawn. Get some rest."
The next day they set out. Jiraiya set the pace and Naruko easily followed. After a few hours they arrived in the gambling town. Naruko created a clone and had it dispel. Seconds later another clone dispelled. Naruko gulped.
"So what's the situation?"
"It would seem that Tsunade is not in the best of moods. Orochimaru pissed her off big time."
"My, my… That explains the disappearance of the castle."
"I suggest we head to the castle and see if we can pick up a scent."
They ran to the highest point in the town. What they found was a destroyed castle and a large hole in a wall. Naruko summoned a fox.
"Naruko-sama, how may I be of service? My name is Tsuiseki Fan."
"Hello Fan-chan, could you please track down a scent for me. It's a female. She was here sometime today."
The fox sniffed the air.
"There are six scents here that appear to have not moved for a while. Two females, two males, a pig and a snake. The snake just stays here. The two males went north and the other three went back into town. Please follow me."
The fox started to run into town and after a while stopped before a tavern.
"The females went into this building."
"Thank you Fan-chan. Here you go."
She handed the fox a rabbit she had caught on her way. The fox dispelled and they entered the pub. Jiraiya looked around and saw her. They sat down and talked. Tsunade was already drunk and her assistant was cautious. Naruko grinned.
"It's like a reunion… All the old faces are coming back," Tsunade said with regret.
"You're talking about Orochimaru, aren't you?" Jiraiya said with a rare moment of seriousness
The two tensed. Naruko got ready, she knew about the short temper the woman in front of her possessed, along with the fact that she was drunk, meant that if she got too mad she could level the entire town with her strength. She saw her take out a deck of cards.
"So why are you here?"
"Tsunade, in all of their wisdom, Sensei and the village have decided that you shall be Godaime Hokage."
"Count me out," she said dealing.
"Playing the Hokage. I have no intention of doing something like that. Look at them, they all died for the village. Money is one thing, a life is another. To put your life on the line, against all the odds. That's a suckers bet. I decline."
Naruko picked up her cards and grinned inwardly.
"You are a disgrace to your heritage," she said coldly.
"What did you say? You better know your place, whore. The only reason you are here is because of that pervert, needing someone to warm his bed and entertain him."
Jiraiya tensed up. He had forgotten to introduce the girl and now Tsunade was jumping to conclusions.
"I am a whore now, am I?" Naruko asked darkly.
"You are a disgrace to the Senju bloodline. You are spitting on the village, the legacy, your forefathers built. You left the village. Because it was too hard for you to go on? Because you couldn't take it anymore? You are pathetic. No matter what you think your reasons for leaving are, I don't care. You didn't leave because of your inability to not being able to handle the stress, no you left because you felt sorry for yourself. Shinobi are tools. Tools are there to be used and when broken beyond repair they are discarded. A shinobi lives, breaths, fights, kills and dies for his village. So a few people close to you died, big deal. You need to grow up, take your head out of your ass and start seeing the world how it truly is."
"Naruko, you went too far!" Jiraiya said shocked.
"On the contrary. I haven't gone far enough. You think your life is bad? You wouldn't survive one day of my early years. You had a family, a home, a bed and food. You are part of the Senju Clan. One of the two major founding clans. The village loved you, your family looked out for you. All you are is a spoiled brat. My life was lived day by day, not knowing where I was going to sleep, how I was going to survive the night. I was beaten to an inch of my life, every single day. I had to fight for my food. I had to kill stray dogs to get what little food I found in the trash. And you don't see me whining about how unfair my life is. No, I moved on, I adapted and I prospered. So your brother and fiancée died. They were shinobi they died for their village, which was their duty. Game over. Straight Royal Flush. I'm leaving. By the way, if you ever call me a whore again, I will make you regret it, Bitch!"
She put down the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of Clubs down. She got up and started walking.
"Brat, what did you call me?" Tsunade asked venomously.
"I told you that I was going to make you pay if you ever called me a whore again. Now I don't waste my time with people who do the wrong things for the wrong reasons, but if you ever dare to pull the image of my father down again, I will kill you."
"You want to take this outside kid."
"Fine."
Tsunade stormed out and Naruko followed with an inward smirk.
'The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him. She takes bait far too willingly. She is too arrogant, thinking me someone who will not be a challenge. And this is our new leader?'
She walked onto the street. Jiraiya and the assistant, Shizune, if she remembered correctly, stood on the side.
"A Sannin taking on a Genin. I should be ashamed of myself. One finger. That is all I will need to defeat you."
Naruko created four clones. They charged at the woman. Tsunade swatted them away but as soon as they dispelled, two new clones came from the smoke. After a few minutes, she was surrounded on all sided. She stomped on the ground and created a series of fissures, dispelling the clones. She noticed her chakra was lower than it should be.
"I see you figured out the weakness of my Daburu Bunretsu Kage Bushin no Jutsu. I am sure you have noticed chakra missing from your reserves. Every time you dispel one of my clones, they drain some of your chakra to create two new clones. With that technique a Taijutsu style that relies on chakra to enhance the damage becomes a liability, as you are being drained of chakra with every blow."
Suddenly Tsunade tensed up and froze. Naruko had slapped a piece of paper onto her back. The Naruko in front of her went up in a cloud of smoke.
"I have put a Paralyzing Seal onto you. Now tell me, what did Orochimaru offer? To bring the two loved ones you lost back? He does have the ability to do so, but there is a catch. First you have to give him two living sacrifices. Second, the sacrifices will be engulfed with dirt and dust. Third, those who have been reanimated, will be slaves, puppets to the summoners will. They will be shells of their former selves. Remember this. Those who reanimate the dead without Shinigami-sama's permission will be punished. Those that were reanimated will be taken back. Only those blessed by him have his permission to bring back those that have been lost. People who bare this sign."
She unsheathed her swords and showed her the skull of the Shinigami, which was engraved on both sides of the blades.
"I'll leave you to your own devices. I will see you when you are ready to accept fate."
She walked off to a nice area near the river. She built a shelter and started a fire. A few days later she walked into the hotel and found the Toad Hermit struggling into the room.
"That damned woman. She put something in my drink that messed up my chakra."
"Well then, let's go find her."
She summoned Tsuiseki Fan.
"What can I do for you today, Naruko-sama?"
"We need to find a female who smells of alcohol."
The fox nodded and just before they left Shizune came running.
"Jiraiya-sama… Lady Tsunade… Orochimaru…"
"Tell us on the way."
They made their way to the castle and stopped. Remaining hidden, they decided to watch. Tsunade was charging a ball with medical chakra. Orochimaru had another arm. Naruko smirked.
'It won't work. My blades are blessed by the Lord of Death. They don't just cut through flesh like an ordinary blade, whatever they cut, cannot be healed, because they injure the soul as well. By severing his arm from his body, I also severed it from his soul… It doesn't matter how good a healer he goes to, he will never be able to use those arms again'
Just as Orochimaru was about to walk to the healer Kabuto interfered and threw kunai between them. They jumped apart and stared at each other. After a brief exchange of words Tsunade attacked them. Using her super strength to create craters wherever she hit. Kabuto was having a hard time dodging, but the task was easier, as Tsunade was being ruled by her emotions and was not thinking rationally. The two changed the battlefield and ran off to a field. On the field the destruction continued. After a while she was put out of commission by Kabuto's Chakura no Mesu. It was clear they didn't want her to die. Tsunade hit him in the back of the neck and shut down his central nerves system. She gave him a mean right hook and started healing the damage. Unfortunately he recovered before she could finish. He charged at her. They decided to intervene and threw a smoke bomb. When the smoke was gone the three stood in front of Tsunade.
"Jiraiya…? It's been a long time… old friend," Orochimaru said.
"Long time indeed. And I can't say it improved your looks," came the sarcastic reply.
Naruko looked at the man next to the Sennin.
"Yakushi Kabuto… Why am I not surprised to see you here? So tell me, was it really necessary to put up a show as a Konoha Genin? You may have a talent for digging up information, but you are nowhere near my level. You have a special ability, during high stress situation you fall into a primal rage. You then kill everything that moves and once you killed everything, you calm down. On top of that, being the Medical Corps Chief's son, you were trained in the medical arts and have gained a healing factor that is on par with some medical Jutsu."
"Naruko…"
"You've met him before, Naruko?" Jiraiya asked surprised.
"Yes, during the Chunin Exams. Back then he also reeked of snake. Good to know my instincts were right, as always."
"Out of my way," Tsunade yelled and charged.
She started punching at Kabuto again. She cornered him but he cut his palm. Tsunade was paralyzed and Kabuto struck her down. She flew against Shizune and onto the ground.
"So I was right. You are a Sound spy," Naruko said.
"Yes, I work for Lord Orochimaru…"
Naruko charged and hit the boy straight into the stomach.
"Uzumaki Taijutsu: Pamu Hasai!"
The impact was heard and Kabuto coughed up blood. He crumbled to the ground and was breathing heavily. Naruko waited. She knew he was not down for the count, and she had not been entertained enough for this to end. Slowly Kabuto got back up.
"Impressive. But I would not have expected anything less from the Shinku Hantoresu no Konoha (Konoha's Crimson Huntress)."
"So you know me, but it is not going to help you."
She charged at him, striking at every opportunity braking the bones of her opponent multiple times. After a few minutes she crushed his jaw and sent him flying away with a right hook. Naruko knew he would not get up any time soon. She looked back at the three Sennin. They stared each other down.
"Shizune, take care of Tsunade. Naruko, cover me."
They nodded and went into position. Naruko made a few clones and they drew their bows.
Kabuto used Orochimaru's arm to summon two snakes. Due to the drug Jiraiya had in his system he could only summon a small toad. Jiraiya was shocked.
"Jiraiya-sama, let me do this." Naruko said.
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"
A large cloud appeared and soon faded. Everyone on the field was shocked. In front of them stood a massive four legged winged lizard. It was covered in the blackness of the night which only caused its fiery red eyes to stand out even more. The being extended its two giant wings. Naruko jumped onto its head and sat down.
"Pruzah sul wah hi mon. Vir los hi? Zu'u hind hi drey ni for zey het wah genun vau wah hin fahdon... (Good day to you daughter. How are you? I hope you didn't call me here to show off to your friends...)"
"Ni ahst pah, bormah. Zu'u for hi, dahik Zu'u praag hin hiif. Jul hi koraav ontp do tol prakem los hokoron do dii sahsun ahrk brod. Rok gahrot mindah do dii brod ahrk ahraan aanwo rinik fariik wah zey. (Not at all, father. I called you, because I need your help. The man you see on top of that snake is an enemy of my village and clan. He stole knowledge of my clan and hurt someone very precious to me.)"
"Zu'u koraav. Zu'u fen hiif hi mon. Nunon gevild nau ahrk dreh ni mah tum. (I see. I will help you daughter. Just hold on and do not fall down)"
The dragon looked at two snakes.
"So you are of the Snake Clan. I apologize, but I will be defeating you today. The Heavenly Serpents will always be above the earthbound races."
The snake of Orochimaru was on charged. Naruko and her dragon just jumped to the sky and circled around them.
"Daughter, use your strongest Futon Jutsu you have and aim for the wielder."
"Yes, Father."
She did a quick string of hand seals.
"Futon: Atsugai!"
"Katon: Guretodoragonfaiasutorimu!"
The two techniques intertwined with each other and became a massive wall of raging fire. The snake and Orochimaru quickly shed their skins and avoided the attack. Once the flames died down there was a massive crater, covered in a sheet of glass. Naruko turned to her opponent.
"It seems our prey knows how to run. Father, let's try it on a smaller scale, but with higher quantity."
"Very well. We shall try that approach."
Naruko went through a new series of hand signs.
"Futon: Renkudan!"
She fired multiple of the compressed air spheres.
"Katon: Guretodoragon Hinotama!"
The fire and wind combined and formed white flames. The snake was dodging for its life and everywhere the balls hit, the ground was turned to glass. After a few minutes the two stopped firing and looked at the snake. Orochimaru was rather uneasy. Just the then Kabuto joined and with the second snake and attacked Shizune and Tsunade. Naruko crashed down onto the snake.
"To attack an unarmed and already beaten opponent. The Snake Clan has fallen."
The snake dispelled and Kabuto landed on the ground. Naruko jumped to the ground and landed in front of him. He charged at her and cut her tendons. Naruko knew the healing process would take a minute so she decided to infuriate the man. She used her chakra to keep herself up.
"You think that is going to stop me? Boy, I have a healing factor that is out of this realm. If you do not come at me, with the intent to kill, you will never get passed me."
She felt the tendons reattach and stopped using her chakra. She got into her most deadly fighting style. Tiaringufokkusu Tsume (Tearing Fox Claws). The style was made by the Kitsune Clan and was there to rip the flesh off of your opponent. She charged cutting Kabuto open every time she had the chance. After a few minutes she did a spin kick and launched him away. She walked to Tsunade and looked at her.
"You are disgraceful. Get a grip of yourself. It's just blood. Get over it and start fighting. This is your battle. Jiraiya is your teammate and friend, help him out before he dies."
She channeled her chakra to her index finger and tapped Tsunade's forehead. Tsunade looked up and nodded. She stood up and walked to her teammate. Orochimaru and Jiraiya were now staring at each other.
"What did you do to her?" Shizune asked Naruko.
Naruko showed her a crystal sphere and crushed it.
"I freed her of her Hemophobia."
"You can do that?"
"Yes, in Fuinjutsu, the only limit you have is your imagination. By the way, thank you for your help, Father."
While she was fighting Kabuto, Strunmah had taken care of the other snake. He nodded and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. The three Sennin looked at each other.
'The amount of pressure in the air… It's insane. I'm getting really excited to see how this will turn out. Ouuhh… Maybe I could join in as well. Kaa-san and I didn't spend too much time since I became a Genin.'
Naruko started to grin. This was going to be fun.
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"
The smoke covered the entirety of the field. When it cleared three mighty beings stood facing one another. A giant toad, a giant slug and a giant snake. Naruko whistled.
"Wow… I think Mother would appreciate to come out and play."
"What do you mean?" Shizune asked.
"Just watch… This is going to be fun.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"
The cloud dissipated and there stood Kurama in all of her nine tailed glory.
"Naru-chan. Why have you called upon me? I told you to do this only if there is no other way."
"I apologize mother, but I am up against Sennin no Orochimaru. I didn't want to cut you off from your own fun against this man."
"How thoughtful of you, Naru-chan. Let's walk over there shall we? Please get on."
Naruko jumped on top of the head and the two made their way over to the three Sennin. The three saw the fox coming and couldn't believe it.
"Unreal. She released the Kyuubi." Tsunade said.
"On the contrary, she has been adopted into the Kitsune Clan and is the next in line for the Throne of Demons. The fox is her adopted mother."
"WHAT!?"
"That is correct, Kaa-san and I will be joining in this fight."
"Orochimaru, while I may not like being summoned I refuse to fight a Demon Lord. Do this yourself."
Orochimaru growled and fled under the cover of the smoke.
"I see the Snake Clan is as cowardly as ever," Naruko said after the snake disappeared.
The three summons disappeared as well and the ninja looked at each other.
"I guess that means you will be the Godaime. Let's get going. I'll make you food on the way."
They headed out and Naruko kept her word and made some rabbit deer stew. When they returned the announcement was made the festivities were prepared and Tsunade was named Godaime Hokage.
The next day, she went to the Hyuuga Clan. She took Kin with her this time. She walked through the gate and waited in the courtyard.
"Uzumaki-san, what brings you here?" Hiashi said.
"I am here to uphold my end of our bargain. I am hereby returning the two people of your clan you asked for."
She unsealed four bodies and laid them on the ground. It were four of the Hyuuga elders.
"Your bodies will be used for good.
Shinigami no Tangan: Tamashī no Ten no Ritān Ga Ichido Ushinawareta!
Please have a nice day."
The bodies glowed and started to change. Two disappeared into the ground while the other two changed into the two requested Hyuuga.
Next Naruko went to the Hokage Tower. She walked into the office and immediately had a bad mood. In front of the desk stood the two elders. Naruko leaned against the wall and asked the ANBU.
"So why do I have the feeling we'll need a new window soon?"
"The elders want to have you punished for threats against the offspring of two council members and the Uchiha-heir, during the second stage of the Chunin Exams."
"There is nothing I can do. Why don't you go to her, she is standing right there, you know."
"Listen up brat, for the death threat of Uchiha-sama and his two teammates. You are to give up all your techniques and teach them to him. Your estate is being searched as we speak."
The air grew cold and it was hard to breath. The silence that reigned was disturbed by a deathly hollow laugh.
"Then whoever you sent is dead already. I will not teach my techniques to someone who does not deserve them. And I suggest you call back the ANBU that is trying to sneak up on Kin. I know he is one of yours, his life force is being suppressed. Now so we understand each other. What happened in Training Ground 44 was perfectly legal. It was a real life battle simulation, where we were allowed to go through whatever measures we deemed necessary to complete the mission. If I wanted to, I could have raped them, massacred them, and tortured them. I could have eaten them alive if I wanted to. You should be happy I only threatened them. Though I know Uchiha tastes horrible anyway. And if anyone of my clan is injured, I will come after you and do the same to you. I will be back after I finished with my business in my clan. I will come back later. Kin we're leaving."
She walked out and punched the false ANBU on the way out. Once they were outside the rushed over to the estate. Once they entered, they found ten bodies on the floor. Naruko made a few clones to strip them of everything and seal them appropriately. She walked inside and saw Zaku with a bandage sling around his right arm.
"Zaku, what happened?"
"I am sorry. Naruko-sama. I was ambushed in the village by the men in the yard. They used me to get into the estate. Luckily Zabuza could take them down. I am truly sorry, I have failed you."
"No, you have not. You did what I asked and did not resort to violence in the village. What injuries did you suffer?"
"Haku says my shoulder was dislocated and my elbow was broken. She says I will be back to full health in a few weeks."
"Let's speed that up, shall we?"
She channeled her youki into her hands and placed them on the joints. Seconds later the bones started to heal and after a few minutes she stopped.
"There, you are back to full health. Now I have to do something, you are to accompany me."
They left and stormed into the office. The hidden ANBU felt a wave of doom roll over them. The elders were still there.
"You are mine."
She walked up to them and with a few grips the two were on the floor in agony.
"I am not under any circumstances able to be imprisoned. As per Uzumaki Clan Law
'Any damage done to a member of the Uzumaki Clan, the clan head has the authority to inflict the same injuries on those responsible. Exceptions to this rule are only if the member of the clan committed a crime beforehand.'
As the exception was not the case I was perfectly within my rights. Now I believe there is a mission for me from Sunagakure no Sato. A request from Yondaime Kazekage-sama. I am here to pick it up."
Tsunade looked through the files and found the scroll. Her eyes widened.
"This is an S-rank mission. In the Land of Wind."
"Yes. Just let me sign what I need to and I will assemble my squad."
"Your squad?"
"Yes. I am taking three of my clan. My squad."
"Fine."
Naruko left and went to her estate. She made three clones and after a while Gaara, Temari and Kankuro came down.
"I trust you are packed and ready to go."
They nodded.
"Zabuza, you are in charge of the estate. I hope it will be in the same shape as it was when I left."
Zabuza bowed and they left. It took them a few days to get to the Village Hidden in the Sand.
Once there, she let her three subordinates guide her through the streets. She noticed the glares of the villagers. Gaara seemed to shrink back. She waved the girl over to her. She gave her a hug and they continued walking. Naruko blasted them with random increases of KI and soon the glares stopped. Soon they reached the tower. They entered and were sent through to the Kazekage.
"Lord Kazekage, I am here to answer your request for the assassination of the Daimyo of Wind Country. I thought it would be nice for you to have your children around so I decided to take them with me. I expect them to be in perfect health when I return. If something happens to them, I will not leave here without having shed the blood of those responsible."
The feral grin on her face promised pain, a lot of pain.
"I want you three to behave. Listen to what Lord Kazekage says. You are representing the Uzumaki Clan, so do well and don't embarrass us. Now, Lord Kazekage, I hope you'll take good care of them. I'll take care of your little Daimyo problem. I should be back in a week."
He made her way out of the village and charged off into the desert. She followed her directions and a day later, she arrived at the city.
She made a few clones and had them gather information on the Daimyo. She rented a room and went into the town. She walked around and looked at the stands and their offers. Finding nothing that caught her eye, she returned to the room and started meditating. A few hours later, she received the memories of her clones. She got up and took out a large scroll. She started to put the details and the information she had gathered together. Once she was done, she made a small army of clones. She sent them to the mansion and had them slip into the staff. She went to bed and woke up in the next morning. Once she was awake, she went to the hot springs and relaxed. When she returned to her room, she got the information of her clones. She now knew the entire layout of the mansion, the guard routes and the food plans. She grinned. This was going to be too easy.
Naruko made a few clones and disguised them as civilians. They spread rumors of the Uzumaki Clan Head visiting the city. It didn't take long for the Daimyo to be informed. Naruko had left the city and was currently on her way back. She was wearing her Royal Garbs and had two clones shadowing her in Samurai Armor. She was greeted by the head of security.
"It is an honor to welcome you to our city. I am Commander Ziang Lee. Please follow us to Lord Daimyo's mansion."
They walked to the mansion and she was lead to her rooms. A few minutes later, a maid came to get her to see the Daimyo.
"Uzumaki-dono, it is a pleasure to finally meet you in person. Especially after I heard certain rumors…"
"And what rumors would that be, Daimyo-dono? I tend to keep myself out of the world of rumors. They only lead to prejudice and disinformation."
"That may be true, but anyway, this rumor I have heard is most interesting. Tell me, have you ever heard of the Shinku Hantoresu no Konoha? Apparently she is a member of the Uzumaki Clan, your clan."
"Is that so? Do you know the name of this supposed family member of mine?"
"Why yes, she participated in the Chunin Exams in Konohagakure. Her name is Uzumaki Namikaze Naruko."
"I must say, that is quite the discovery… If the girl is part of the Uzumaki Clan, she is not part of my family. You say she hails from Konoha, then she probably is an orphan. The Konoha ninja had strong ties with the Uzumaki. She probably was named after our sacrifice. As for Namikaze… Wasn't that a merchant's family hailing from this country?"
"It might be… Though it would appear that it was also the name of the Yondaime Hokage, Namikaze Minato."
"So he must have adopted her. Still, I do not hold any authority over the Shinku Hantoresu, my clan has been migrating since the Second War. Whatever you had hoped for, I cannot help you. Now I am sorry to say, but I have to return to my clan. We will be leaving in the morning."
"Please stay for dinner. We will dish up the most popular meals of Kaze no Kuni. It would an honor for us to have you dine with us tonight."
"If you insist, I will follow your wish. When will dinner be served?"
"It is currently being served. Please allow me to escort you to the dining room."
He offered her his arm and she took it. They walked to the dining room. He pulled her chair back and Naruko sat down. The food was great and after they were done with the main dish, the desert was served. Naruko enjoyed the dessert. Naruko kept her eyes on the daimyo. They were the only people in the room. She had been channeling Youki into the Daimyo ever since they started dinner. He was steadily growing paler and when he ate his last bite he dropped. Naruko smirked and started the act.
"Help! Guards! Help!"
The guards rushed into the room and saw a terrified woman. Their Daimyo was lying on the floor.
"What happened in here?"
"I don't know. We were just finishing up with the dessert and then he just collapsed."
"Alright men. Escort this fine lady to her dormitories and bring a medic over here."
Naruko walked back to her room and went to sleep. The plan had worked perfectly. Not even Tsunade could pin point the real cause of death. The medic will find a sudden shut down off the entire system. There was no way she could be blamed. Just then a shadow clone came in.
"So how is he?" Naruko said staying in role.
"He is dead. I am sorry Uzumaki-sama, but I think it best if we leave first thing tomorrow. I have already sent word to Lord Kazekage. He will send a replacement as there are no heirs or other family of the Daimyo to fill his position."
"I see. You did a great job."
The clone bowed and left. The next morning Naruko talked with Commander Ziang Lee. They had sent a messenger hawk to Suna and received a reply that the Kazekage was sending a suitable successor. Naruko thanked the Commander and the staff for the hospitality and returned to Suna at mid-day, running at full speed.
She entered the tower and went straight to the Kazekage.
"Uzumaki-san, it is a pleasure to see you again. I am amazed by the success of this mission. They did not even suspect a thing. I am truly impressed by this. Here is your payment. My wife is in town with Gaara and the others. I thank you for this… And for what it is worth, I hope you will accomplish what you have told me."
Naruko bowed and left. She sealed the money away and went into town. She quickly found them and after a little snack of dango they headed back to the Hidden Leaf. Once they arrived, two days later, they walked to the estate and Naruko headed to the tower to sign in a mission successful.
"Good day, Hokage-sama. I am here to give the report of my mission."
"Ahh… Naruko right on time. I just got a scroll for a mission requesting you, specifically, from Kumo. I hope you will take the mission. Leave your report here and leave immediately."
"Hai, Hokage-sama."
She put the scroll on the table and left she headed to her estate. She made two clones and went to the kitchen to find Ameyuri and Zabuza having some lunch.
"Zabuza I am afraid I have to leave again. You are in charge."
Just then Bee and Yugito came in.
"You called for us, Naruko-sama?" Yugito asked.
"Yes, pack your things, we are headed to Kumo. I want to leave in five minutes."
The two left and five minutes later, they were leaving the estate and heading to the gate. As soon as they left the village they dashed off. The trip to Kumogakure was uneventful. As soon as they entered the village, they were surrounded by the ANBU.
"State your business in our village."
"We are here because of a mission given to us by Lord Raikage. Here is the seal."
"Everything seems in order, we'll take you to him right away."
Seconds later they stood in the office of the Raikage. A looked around and saw them.
"Uzumaki-san, I am pleased that you could get here so soon. The scroll should have arrived just a few days ago. But anyway, here are the pictures of those I know have betrayed me. I want you to kill them, find out if they have more accomplices and kill those too. I don't care what you do to them to get the truth, just make sure that it is the truth."
"Yes, Lord Raikage. You two stay here and have a nice time. Behave, you are representing the Uzumaki Clan… Do not embarrass us."
Naruko turned around and left. She ran through the streets and looked for her targets. Whenever she found one she made a Shadow Clone and had it shadow the target. After an hour of searching she had finally found the last person. She made a clone and had it dispel. Seconds later she transported herself and her target into the Hunting Realm.
Hunting Realm
Once they arrived Naruko made a few hundred clones and had them put on their Roman style armor. The people she captured were all civilians. This was going to be fun.
"Listen up. You're here because you are suspected of treason. Submit and we will all walk away unharmed. Fight and I will kill you."
"You can't do this with us. We are of the noble families of Kumo."
"Oh I can."
She rushed through the dozen bickering people and knocked them out cold. She made twenty four more clones and had them scan their memories. After fifteen minutes their entire lives were scanned and she had enough to kill them and now she knew who they were working for. Akatsuki. She ordered her armored clones to kill them and left with the scrolls.
She raced to the office and gave her report.
"Raikage-sama, your suspicions were correct. The twelve people you had suspected to have betrayed you were agents of a criminal organization calling itself the Akatsuki. The exact intentions are still unknown, but we do know that they are seeking the powers of the Biju. All of the members are S class or higher criminals on the most wanted list of all of the Great Five Nations. As you can see in the reports, the Akatsuki paid these men to undergo the integrity of your village and give out information to the organization. The names listed at the ends of the reports are people that are working with or under them to get information. I currently have a platoon of clones searching for them and interrogating them. Other than that the only thing that can be said about the situation is that no vital information about my kin and your village has been passed on to the Akatsuki."
"Good, but do I have to worry about my ninja finding any bodies?"
"No, I have taken care of it. Your best trackers will find that the scent just ends all of a sudden, with no other traces. It will be as if they suddenly vanished. I will stay overnight and we will leave at around noon. I will be in my room, I hope to find Bee and Yugito there already there."
"They are. I hope you will come by for breakfast tomorrow."
"I will. Please have my money ready by then."
"I will. Have a good night."
"Thank you. You do so as well."
She left and headed to the hotel she had rented with a clone. She entered the room and went to sleep. She didn't like being outside without a good reason so she meditated inside to organize her thoughts.
The next day the three demon heirs walked to the tower. They had breakfast with the Raikage and exchanged pleasantries. After they were done Naruko was paid and they left. They travelled at full speed and arrived a day later Naruko and her company went to their home estate.
Naruko took a quick shower and got into her royal garbs. She walked to the Hokage Tower. Normally she wouldn't wear her royal garbs, but she had a feeling the civilians would be doing something again. She entered the office and saw the elders once again driving Tsunade up the wall.
"For the last time. I cannot enact the CRA on her she has enough members for her clan to not die out. Even if that were not the case, she is not under my command."
"Then she should be paying more taxes for using property of Konoha."
"Are you saying we should charge the sole survivors of those, who have sacrificed their homes, village, and very own lives, so that we could survive?"
"As if that thing is really an Uzumaki. She should have been killed the moment the demon was sealed within her. Now it is on the loose and in a high ranking position, if that were not enough."
Naruko had had enough. She blasted the room with KI.
"I suggest you choose your next words over very carefully, Utatane. I already have a very thin patience regarding you and those who follow you. If you doubt my heritage, I have the sign that shows my legitimacy to my title and heritage."
She took off her glove and revealed the emblem on the back of her hand. Everyone in the room gasped. The emblem was the undisputable proof that she was head of the Uzumaki Clan.
"And if I displease you so much with my clan and presence, I can leave. I am sure Kumo or Suna would love to have an S-class shinobi join their ranks, with one of the most infamous clans of the wars. I would be happy to give you that pleasure."
What she didn't say was that if they were going to push for it and she left, she would have the chance to kill them all. Tsunade looked shocked and the elders were grinning.
"That will not be necessary, Naruko. I am sure the elders were just leaving."
The elders sneered, but left.
"Thank you, Hokage-sama. I am here to report my mission in Kumogakure no Sato."
The next half an hour was spent giving the report regarding the Akatsuki. Tsunade was shocked by the information. She took note of everything and sighed. She knew this would give her a serious headache sooner or later.
"By the way, Naruko, the council demanded an audience with you. There were reports of dead civilians on your grounds. They seem rather upset about it."
Naruko rolled her eyes and nodded. They entered the council chambers and Naruko took her seat as a clan head. The shinobi side of the council nodded respectfully, the civilian side sneered and glared at her. She ignored them and waited for the meeting to begin.
"Now that we are finally here, we can begin," Mitokado said, glaring at Naruko.
"Brat, there have been numerous sightings of dead civilians in your front yard. We, the council, forward the requests for compensation of the families who have lost members due to these incidents on your grounds. And I can say the sum will be steep. Very, steep."
"I think not, Mitokado…"
"You will show this council respect!"
"Respect is earned not handed out to a name or title," Naruko said, fixing the man with a glare of her own.
"I will not pay anything. They were not allowed on those grounds and they entered on their own behalf. If they think they have to liberate the Yondaime's things from the clutches of the demon, then they have deserved whatever has happened to them."
"Now we've got you brat. Guards execute her for breaking Sandaime-sama's law."
Nothing happened except for Naruko chuckling darkly.
"They will not move. First, everyone here was part of those events. Second, I am allowed to talk to whomever I want to about the fox. And third, you wanted a demon now you have one. I fight for my clan and I will kill anyone who thinks he can stand against me. You made me, now it's time I thank you for it. There was no crime done, this meeting is as useless as your positions on this council. Why Lord Nidaime ever thought this would be a good idea, I will never know. I'm leaving."
Naruko stood up and left, leaving a very upset council behind.
