Dean's POV
As we drove down the road as the sky started to cloud over and little droplets hit my windshield. Jade curled up to me made me feel on top of the world. Her scent is filling my nose, she smells of her sweet fruity shampoo and innocence. I don't know it is but she's turning me on not even meaning to. Just her presence is making me hard, I want her so bad it hurts but I'm afraid that the beast might come out and hurt her, maybe even kill her. I don't think I could live with myself knowing she is in pain because of me.
"Where are we going?" She asked. Now that I've come to think of it I'm not sure where I was driving to. "...umm are you hungry?" I asked not knowing what else to say. "You have no idea where you're going do you?" she asked, knowing me to well. "No, not entirely. How about lunch?" I chuckled. "Sure." She said simply as she rubbed her hand over my chest.
When we arrived at a small diner I thought it would be best to catch up. " So what have you been doing while I was gone?" I asked after ordering our food. " Uh well I kept dealing for a few more years and saved up a lot of money so I could make a better life for the boys and I, so we packed up and moved here to the wonderful California, got a beach house and I work while the twins work construction together and Isaac is a veterinary assistant." She replied. "Wow you've been busy." I said raising a brow. This beautiful woman really had to do so much to support herself and her family. Back then we always talked about doing that together, raising the boys, kind of like a happy family. But living in Cincinnati we knew Aiden, Ethan, and Isacc, wouldn't get the best in life so we had a plan to deal until we got enough money to leave that shithole of a city. "What about you," I was so lost in my thoughts I barely heard her "huh?" she smiled at me before talking again, "what have you been doing all this time?" she asked. "Oh um I've training to control myself, hunting, animal only, and looking for you." Looking into her eyes I began to lose thought again until the waitress brought our food.
After lunch I reached into my pocket to get my wallet when I also found the ring I wanted to give Jade the night I "died". I remembered what I wanted to do that night but never had the chance to. I stuffed the ring back in my pocket, then pulled out my wallet and, paid for the food. On the drive back to the pack's house, I thought about the ring again. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this woman and I still do but I can't take the chance of her leaving me again.
Jade's POV
I could tell Dean was deep in thought so I decided to stay quiet. When Dean turned on the radio, I began to relax a little more when one of my favorite songs, Far Away by Nickelback, was playing and I started humming along

I had loved this song because it was playing when Dean and I shared our first kiss, we were only kids but it still meant so much to me.

I began to smile and blush as Dean slipped his hand in mine and interlocked our fingers, maybe he does remember our first kiss. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a small smile begin to form on his face and his thumb tapping along to the beat of the song.

The song ended as we pulled into the drive way of the large house. "Do you work tonight?" Dean asked before I left the truck. "Yeah at 7:30." I replied sadly. It was only 3 o'clock but, I really wanted to spend more time with Dean but my life can't be put on pause just because I'm in love. "Ok, I can take u." he said all nonchalantly. "You don't-" before I could finish Dean spoke again, "I want to." He said. I just nodded in response before smiling and exiting the vehicle.
"That was a bullshit call!" When we walked into the house Roman, and Seth yelling about what looked to be a football game. "Come on are you fucking blind!" Roman shouted. The girls were laughing at Roman and Seth's over reacting. I looked at Dean with raised brows, and he just shook his head. "The men in this house take their football very seriously." He said with a shrug. "I see" I giggled as Dean led me towards the couch and pulled me on his lap after getting a beer from Roman.
When the game ended and a few episodes of The Strain, it was already 5 o'clock, so I headed upstairs to shower and get ready for work. As I was finishing with my hair I noticed Dean in the mirror with an unsure look on his face. "You ok?" I asked, "Yeah but uuh, do you have to dress like that, I mean it's a little revealing."( wolves_shield/set?id=169766734 ) I wasn't 100 percent sure but Dean seemed to have a touch of jealousy in his voice. "Well my boss thinks its best for business if the bartenders look attractive and available." I told him. The look of uncertainty never left Dean's face, maybe he does still care.Dean's POV
