Phew! Finally the last one! This request was given by Youngheart who gave a very good idea for the story! I have done all the one shots and now will go onto the special and then my other short stories! Alright, now that was the good news!
The bad news is that I unfortunately have to tell all of you that I will not be making any more one-shots for quite a long time. For every one that I post, five more pop up in my reviews/Mail/email and it's becoming way too insane especially since the guidelines aren't followed. It's really hard when y'all just give a couple and nothing else because I then have to fabricate everything. Sorry I have to spring this on all of you but Until I can recover my brain for one-shots once more, I am not taking any more.
Still 3 you all tho! Thanks for reading and reviewing! Love to read all the reviews and emails I get!
The bar was extremely noisy as drunkards began to make crude jokes and danced around sloppily while singing loudly. Zoro sat in the dark corner, chugging down a large jug of sake like it was nothing, and blocking out everyone else around. It's not like he was out of place really here in a pirate's bar, but he didn't like being around others; he'd much rather be alone.
Normally he wouldn't be found in bars like this, but he was a pirate hunter after all. To get the money he needed to live, he had to occasionally hang out in bars like this and scope out the highest bounty pirate. There, just as he expected sat a man by the name of John Lock. A high bounty pirate who was known for kidnapping women and selling them on the black market.
Slowly Zoro got up from his table, downing the rest of his sake and picking up his swords and strapping them to his waist. He made sure to keep to the edge of the bar so attention wasn't brought to him while he calmly walked with Lock in his sights.
"Well well, if it isn't the bounty pirate hunter."
Zoro froze and flicked out one of his swords, ready to take on whoever was going to attack him. He didn't expect anyone to spot him so easily and identify him. Normally it wasn't until he had already pulled his swords out. As he looked over towards the voice he spotted a woman with raven hair and light blue eyes. She had a cowboy hat on with a short skirt and a tube top styled shirt that left her midriff showing and her cleavage popping out.
He knew her instantly just from looking at her. "Nico Robin," He muttered back, looking her up and down and keeping a tight hold on his sheath just in case she tried something.
"You don't need to be so on edge." She said, turning on her round seat and crossing her legs while leaning forward so her arm rested on her legs. "I'm here for the same reason you are."
She glanced over at Lock, raising an eyebrow and giving a small nod towards the pirate to prove who she was talking about. She gave a stunning smile to him, throwing him off guard a bit and doing even more as her eyes flashed at him wickedly.
"Lock," He said, sheathing his sword again, but not dropping his guard in case this was a trap.
She nodded, confirming his suspicion and sat up a bit more, this time leaning against the counter with her elbows keeping her up. "How about we work together for this one?"
Zoro raised an eyebrow at her questioningly before the corner of his mouth quirked up and he narrowed his eyes at her. "And what exactly is stopping me from just bringing you in? Your bounty is higher than his by now."
"True, but I technically haven't done anything wrong." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "You usually go for people who do bad things directed towards women and children."
Zoro narrowed his eyes, he didn't like that she could read him so easily just from who he hunted and who he let go. "So assassinating many people isn't bad? You work for enough people who do bad, so in my book you're just one of them."
Robin raised her own eyebrow, finding his determination of her being wicked like Lock interesting. She smiled at him brightly and sat up straight. "Aw, but like I said, you attack those who do wrong against women, so you won't hunt down a woman would you?"
Zoro and Robin had a quick stare off before Zoro let out a small sigh and glanced at Lock who was getting up from his seat. "Splitting the cash?"
Robin smiled and slipped off her seat, cozying up in front of him, close enough that she could feel her breath. "No, you can keep it. I'm just doing a job for my employer." She told him raising an eyebrow quickly and then lowering it, telling him that's all the information he was getting out of her.
He could feel the goosebumps crawl across his skin. It was like she was getting under his skin and making his mind and body completely be consumed by her. She was making a spot for herself inside of him like a parasite, and she wasn't leaving any time soon.
"We might want to be quick before he gets away," She told him, touching his arm to snap him out of his thoughts that were trying to bring him back to his normal cold self.
He stepped away from her, letting her hand slip off of him. "Let's go," He walked away from her quickly, taking the lead out of the bar where Lock escaped and also trying to escape himself from her tempting ways.
"Keep to the shadows for now," Zoro said, turning his head to look at her and make sure she wasn't about to be spotted. But she was already gone from behind him, nowhere to be seen. "She's not an assassin for nothing." He talked to himself as he let out a sigh and watched Lock walk towards his ship where there were women being held most likely.
He wasn't going to let Lock be captured right away before he could save the women. Robin was right; she read him like a book. He hated pirates who would harm women and children, it was something that ticked inside of him that just seemed to make him snap. He wouldn't take Nico Robin in for that very reason; because she was a woman and he didn't want to think of what would happen to her in those jails they had for pirates.
He followed behind Lock, waiting for him to be in his ship and out of sight before he made his way up the side of the ship, peeking over the railing to see if the coast was clear. His feet made a light tapping sound as his feet hit the deck and looked back and forth for anyone that could be coming.
"You're slow,"
Robin was standing there around the corner Zoro was about to round, making him jump and nearly shout in surprise. He stopped himself before alarming whoever was on the ship and narrowed his eyes at her, making her chuckle in response because she could sneak up on him so easily.
"When did you get up here?" He asked, before holding up a hand and shaking his head, knowing the answer before she even had to say it. She was probably on the ship before even Lock got on, waiting for him to arrive and watch where he went on the ship.
"He went through there," She said, pointing towards the shadowed door that was slightly ajar from Lock going in. "I bet the women are down there, being held captive." Robin's tone wasn't light hearted like she was at the bar, and her eyes were darker than they were before too. Maybe this was a personal job she wanted done and not one she was being sent on.
She wasn't so easy to read, but the way her eyes glinted in anger and revenge, he could tell that something must have happened to her in the past to make her like she was now. But he wasn't going to question her. For one it wasn't his right to ask about her personal life, and two, they hardly knew one another.
They snuck quickly and quietly towards the open door, slipping inside and closing it so they wouldn't be interrupted. The ship was unusually quiet though for a ship transporting women. Shouldn't there be more men around patrolling the ship and keeping it locked up? Maybe they were all in the bar? He didn't know, but it was setting him off in a bad way.
"Something doesn't seem right," Zoro whispered, grabbing her wrist and stopping her before she grabbed the next door at the end of the stairway.
Suddenly the door flung open and a hoard of men stood there with swords and guns, waiting for the two of them in an ambush. Robin and Zoro instantly tensed up and got into a battle stance, ready for their attacks that would come at them now.
"We were wondering when someone would find their way down here." Lock said with a crude laugh. He stood there behind all of his other men, arms crossed and a toothy smile with a few missing. "Get them,"
The crew gave a shout before charging towards Zoro and Robin. Zoro reached out and grabbed Robin's waist, pulling her back behind him before whipping out his swords and getting into a low stance. He blocked the swords that came down at them and flung them back. He took one step forward and swirled around in a circle, slicing the men and making them fall to the ground with a shout of pain.
"Seis Fluer!" Robin said, crossing her arms with her hands splayed out.
Six arms appeared on the men who were holding the guns, and wrapped around them, stopping them before they could pull the trigger on their guns.
"Clutch!"
A crack resounded repeatedly in the room as all the men had their necks turned and bent, snapping their necks and dropping them to the ground before the arms disappeared. Over and over this happened as Zoro took care of the people close by while Robin did a distant attack for those on the other side of the room.
"Seems you're out of options," Robin said as she took out the rest of the men.
Lock stood there in defense and jerked out a pistol from his jacket, aiming it at Zoro who was closest and would be an easier target. His hand was shaking though as he looked at the two of them. Who would have thought an assassin and a bounty hunter would work together to hunt this one pirate down. Lock definitely never saw it coming. One of them? Yeah he could handle it, but both of them together was something completely different; especially two of the greatest known hunters.
He narrowed his eyes and suddenly jerked his hand and fired, sending the bullet towards Robin who wasn't expecting it. Zoro reached his arm out and took the shot instead, letting it scrape against his skin and let the blood gush down.
"Only scum prey on women," Zoro growled, eyes shadowed in hate which sent a horror filled shiver to run down his spine.
Lock dropped his gun before hitting the ground in defeat, the fear completely taking over his limbs and making them lose all strength.
"Here," Zoro said, holding up a full bag of coins and money. "You deserve half of it still."
Robin opened her mouth to argue against him, but he grabbed her hand and held it out, opening it up before setting the bag down on her palm and letting her go. He wasn't giving her a choice on whether or not she would take it.
"I don't know what you've gone through in the past, but…" he stopped and glanced at her, seeing the defensive wall get thrown up from her eyes. "….You really should find better company to keep with."
Robin stood there for a moment in confusion before letting a small smile play on her face. "Like you?" She was teasing him a bit because she knew he was already getting a soft spot for her, and she didn't mind playing into it a bit. After all, he was her type of guy.
Zoro blushed slightly and gave a small cough, putting a hand to his mouth and coughing into it to distract himself so he didn't blush any more. She smiled at him even more, making the blush come back as he met with her eyes, and made him flustered more than he ever has been before.
"Well, if you want," He told her, shrugging it off like it was her choice and it didn't make a difference to him.
She smiled even more. Yeah, this was her type of guy. Somehow who would play it cool and confident no matter the situation. Zoro played more and more into that role the more she was getting to know him. In a way he was burrowing beneath her skin and leaving a mark on her.
"Maybe one day we will." She said with a gentle smile. "But for now, I have to keep the company I have to get what I need." She told him softly, shaking her head when he raised a questioning eyebrow.
She took a step forward until she was directly in front of him, placing a hand slowly onto his chest and looked up into his eyes. Slowly she stood on her toes and pressed her lips onto his, letting the soft kiss run over both of them before she pulled back once more.
"I guess this is goodbye," She told him with a half smile, being slightly disappointed that it was already ending.
"No quite yet," He told her.
His arm looped around her waist and pulled her against him, feeling her body press against his while his lips descended upon hers and attacked them fiercely. He was desperate to taste more of her. He was desperate to draw this kiss out; he didn't want to say goodbye to her just yet and end all of this. After all there was only a one in a million chance that they'd meet each other once more.
He could feel her hand grasp his tshirt desperately, patting his chest lightly and getting him to pull back from her. She breathed in air hungrily as he had completely made all the breath leave from her from the intense kiss, making it all the more pleasurable.
"So, goodbye?" She said, patting his chest again before pushing back farther from him and taking a step back. Her cheeks were slightly flushed and her fingers kept tracing over her lips at the remembrance. "Hopefully we'll meet again."
"So, we do meet again,"
Robin sauntered across the deck with her arms crossed lazily and a smile upon her face as she headed towards Zoro who was laying against the deck with his arms behind his head. Just after the whole Alabasta problem, the same assassin whom Zoro had erased from his mind and let go suddenly showed up once more.
At first he thought it had to be a dream, but then the more he watched her, the more he realized it was real and that she was really on a pirate ship with them. But it didn't feel the same; he finally got her out of his mind and completely out of his thoughts, and she shows up. Now she's making a spot once more over the scars and creating her place inside of him again…and that infuriated him.
He chose not to look at her or speak to her, hoping that his weak emotions would just run off and leave him out of this. He was no longer a bounty hunter, he was a pirate himself now. He had a goal in his sights and he wasn't going to let simple, weak emotions bring him down. Yet the more she looked at him, he couldn't help but remember those emotions that stirred him up like a tsunami.
He grunted back in response to her and turned his head with his eyes closed, ignoring her and trying to keep up his cool, cold shoulder act.
She raised an eyebrow at him curiously and kept the smile on her face. Slowly she walked closer to him and crouched down to his eye level, staring at him intensely until he finally opened one of his eyes and glanced at her curiously.
"If you're mad that I'm a pirate now, I think that's pretty hypocritical." Robin sighed, putting a hand under her chin so it was more relaxed where she was. "After all, you became the first mate on a pirate ship."
Zoro huffed at her and closed his eyes again, brushing off her accusation. "You're like a parasite." He choked on his own words at the ends. He didn't mean to say it out loud, but his mouth had automatically said what he was thinking.
Robin stared at him blankly, not really sure what to think about what he said. But with her deep thinking she understood what he meant and surprised him by her smiling. She leaned forward onto her knee's and placed a hand on his leg.
"That's right. I get inside you and stick myself in so tightly that you can't shake me." She teased, leaning closer until her face was directly in front of his and her lips were barely brushing against his own. "So stop fighting and just agree to it. Or are you going to be a tough guy and fight still?"
Zoro narrowed his eyes, fighting the slight flush from his face down so his composure didn't break in front of her. Her fingers thrummed against his leg, and she breathed out lightly so her breath ran across his face gently, sending his mind into the chaotic mess she was always able to put him in.
"Just fall into it." She coaxed more.
Zoro was being stubborn though as he stared into her light blue eyes and kept his face in an emotionless state. Robin smiled, loving how stubborn he was; after all it was his personality and demeanor that she was attracted to most.
"Robin?" Nami shouted out.
Robin sighed and pulled back from Zoro, making him furrow his brows in frustration. Robin gave him a smirk and a small wink, showing her teasing wasn't quite over yet. She stood up and walked over to the stairs where Nami was waiting for her at the bottom.
Though Zoro wanted to push everything out about Robin, he couldn't help but be irked by how Sanji hung all over her constantly, and how calm she could be about it all. It was like in a moments notice she'd just change her whole person to fit in.
Everyone wanted to be around her and see what she could do. She was the dark beauty with a mysterious personality that seemed to capture people in instantly…..and that pissed him off. He hated that everyone was around her, especially since he knew her before any of them. But he also knew it was his own fault for trying to keep her at a distance.
"You know, if you keep pouting all the time you're going to get wrinkles."
Zoro jumped out of his thoughts and turned his head slightly to see Robin leaning over his side to look at him in the face. She reached out and poked her finger where his brows were furrowed together. Zoro reached out his hand and grabbed her wrist before pulling down.
Robin was pulled down to the floor and Zoro hovered over with piercing eyes that bored into her deeply. Robin was wordless as she stared back at him in surprise and confusion. A smirk appeared on his face as he shadowed over her, a slight flash of wildness glinting in his eyes towards her. He had hit his breaking point, he couldn't deny it any longer.
"Fine," He told her in a slight growl. "Be a parasite and bore a spot of your own here." He told her, tapping his chest over his heart.
Before she could answer he leaned down and captured her lips roughly, slipping his tongue into her mouth before she could even think and send her mind into a fuzzy mess. He was controlling all over her as his hand that was holding her wrist slid down her arm and to her face, cupping it gently compared to the kiss and pulling her head closer to him.
Her arms looped around his neck, not even caring if someone came onto this part of the deck and saw them. She may have been teasing and in control this whole time, but now with this kiss she was completely submissive beneath him.
"This time, you're not getting away." He told her in a whisper while pulling away from her.
She smiled at him, tugging gently on his neck to pull him back down to her. "Wasn't thinking of letting you go. Besides, if I run, then you have permission to hunt me down Mr. Bounty Hunter…." She chuckled and shook her head. "…I mean pirate."
Zoro chuckled and leaned back down to her, continuing their passionate kiss until the others would eventually interrupt them and make them wait for the next time. At least this time they knew there was going to be more and it wasn't a split between the two and a time distance. They no longer had to worry about any of that….Well maybe when Nami found out, but they'd worry about that when the time came.
