Sabo stared at the paper that was laying on his desk. He had looked over it so many times, trying to figure out the best course of plan for this mission that Dragon wanted him to finish. But what was he supposed to do? Who could he send to do it? The mission itself was very vague, so it was hard to figure out who would be best. Of course all his men were good, but he didn't want to take the risk of it being something too dangerous.

The paper was a simple log of what had been said over DenDen Mushi. The Marine's were talking to an unknown pirate who spoke of a powerful treasure looked away in a place. The location was given, but that was all. Neither described what the 'treasure' was, or what power it held to be wanted by pirates and Marine's alike. He had no other choice; he was going to have to become a treasure hunter. He couldn't risk putting his men in danger.

"Koala!" Sabo called out, hoping the girl was nearby and heard him. She popped into his tent, spotting him right away with a bright smile on her face. "I need you to take charge while I'm gone. Seems I have a mission to take care of real fast."

"Me?" She asked, pointing to herself with wide eyes. "But, I can't!" She stopped as Sabo cut her a raised eyebrow look that said are-you-really-giving-up? "*sigh* what is the mission? Can't you send someone else?"

Sabo shook his head as he packed up a small bag worth of clothes and things he would need. "No, Dragon wants me to pick up a treasure that the Marine's want and bring it back. We can't let them get ahold of it."

"Oh…" Koala trailed off as she realized she couldn't really argue against Dragon's command and knew she'd have to deal with taking charge over everyone. She just really hated being bossy to them.

A hand patted her head, making her look up at Sabo who was giving a reassuring smile towards her. "You'll do fine. Besides, it'll only be a short mission anyway."

He bid his farewell to the others telling them that he left Koala in charge and that he'd be back soon. Even during his time where he sailed towards the destination he looked over the piece of paper, trying to look more into their conversation for any kind of hint of what this treasure could be, but still he had no luck and was growing a little anxious as to what to do if the treasure used its power against him.

"This is it?" Sabo asked himself out loud, looking at the paper at the location and checking his map and compass once more. It was exactly where they said it was going to be, but it seemed like a prank.

In front of him stood a tall tower that had one window at the top. It was taller than a giant, and had ivy growing up it's walls like it was creeping towards the single window. He looked around the tower, trying to find a way in, but there wasn't any door.

"How am I supposed to get up there?" Sabo asked himself. This was more of a hassle then anything else. "I guess it's the good old fashion way."

He tightened his gloves on his hand and made sure his hat was secure on his head, looking up at the immense height of the tower. He hoped whatever this treasure is, it was actually worth it. He gripped onto the stones that made the wall, using any hand and foot hold he could find between the stones. His fingers were turning numb by the time he reached the halfway point, his muscles burned, and he felt like his breath was being taken away from him. He just couldn't get enough air into his lungs to fuel his muscles. But he kept pushing himself, trying to get closer to that window and see what was inside this tower that was so hard to get to.

His hand grasped the edge of the window finally, a mental sigh echoed in his head as he struggled to pull himself up. His muscles were nearly shaking from the immense upper body strength he had to use. He sat on the window sill with his legs on the inside, catching his breath as he wiped off his forehead. He took off his hat and waved it in front of him, looking behind him at the ground far below.

"Note to self: Don't fall." He said jokingly, trying to stop his mind of thinking of the exhaustion that was taking over his muscles.

A giggle came from within the room in front of him, making him drop his hat in shock and look around. A small shuffle drifted away from him, telling him that something was trying to hide itself more in the room.

"Who's there?" He called out, dropping from the sill and standing on guard.

"Why are you here?" The voiced called back out, very timid, and feminine. "Are you here to use me?"

Sabo's eyebrows furrowed as he let her words sink in, wondering what she could be talking about. Use her? Why would he want to use her? "I don't know what you are talking about. I just came to gather this treasure that is supposed to be up here."

The room was silent, and Sabo tried to peer his eyes closer into the darkness, trying to keep a look at the person hiding within the shadows away from him.

"Why?"

Sabo blinked. "What?" He had completely forgotten what she was questioning since he was trying to find her.

"Why do you want the treasure?" She was getting defensive, an edge to her voice that showed anger. "Are you going to use it to hurt people?"

Sabo had a light bulb go off in his head, cluing him off as to what she was doing. "I'm trying to take the treasure because I got some information that people who would use the power for bad are coming to get it. I wanted to take it away and put it somewhere no one could get it."

The room grew silent again, but soon the sound of shuffling echoed in the room again, this time growing closer. Soon a girl with long _ hair and bright _ eyes appeared from the shadows, her eyes full of fear and her body tucked into itself in a way of submission.

"Really?" She asked, slight hoping flashing past her eyes. A small smile curved over her mouth as Sabo nodded. A deep sigh came out of her and finally she stood up straight. She had _ skin and she had to be around his age because she was _(height), and was very _(build). Her _ flashed at him in awe as she inched closer and closer, like a scared animal would to something their curiosity was telling them to check out.

"What's your name?" Sabo asked, tilting his head, but still standing in the same spot so he didn't scare her with any sudden movements.

Her attention went up to his eyes, staring into him as if she could see into him personally. She pursed her lips and gulped, trying to build up her courage and at least tell him that. "It's _." It was nothing more than a very quiet whisper that he barely heard, but still he put a smile on his face.

"It's nice to meet you _." Sabo said, taking off his hat this time and giving a small bow to show he wasn't going to do any harm to her.

_ smiled and gave a small nod of her head back to him. She rubbed her arm in embarrassment, having him watch her so closely, but silence filled the air once more, making her feel even more awkward at the tense air. Sabo looked around the room, noticing it was just a small simple one with a bed, a few books, and the window, not really leaving her with anything.

"Do you live here?" He asked, noticing her clothes were slightly dirty as well.

She gave a nod to him, shuffling her feet again. It must have been a nervous tick she had. "I've been up here for a long time." Her voice grew quiet and low while shadows played across her eyes.

But this confused Sabo. He furrowed hi brows in confusion and looked around more thoroughly, wondering if he missed a secret door or anything that could lead him towards his mission. "But…..what about the treasure?"

The girl jumped slightly and tensed, backing away from him quickly. He held his hands up quickly, showing he didn't mean to step on any toes with the subject at hand. _ bit at her lip, her eyes darting back and forth as she had a conversation within her head. Sabo could tell she was having an inner battle of sorts inside of herself; most likely it was about the treasure and whether she should tell him where it was.

"Hey, I meant what I said earlier." He said, finally taking a step towards her as he held out his hands. She jerked her head up and suddenly her feet were spread apart evenly and her fists came up in front of her. She suddenly went from this timid girl, to a frightened warrior who was about to attack. He stopped and let out a sigh. "I'm only here to hide the treasure in a more secure place, so that the wrong people don't get ahold of it." Suddenly he got an idea, and he looked her in the eyes and pointed to his pocket, showing he wasn't going to do anything to her. The last thing he needed was to make the girl snap and suddenly came at him. He rustled around inside his pocket and brought out the mission papers. "Here, this is the proof."

_ reached out towards the papers and stood in front of Sabo, keeping a close eye on him from the corner of her eye as she skimmed over the papers, reading the whole conversation with the titles 'pirate' and 'Marine' next to the people speaking. Her own brows were becoming furrowed now as she looked over it, realizing he was telling her the truth. She bowed deeply to him her long _ hair slipping off her shoulder.

"I'm so sorry!" She looked back up at him and straightened up.

"So, you'll help me with the treasure?" He asked, stepping towards her and reaching out his hand again.

She looked towards his gloved hand and smiled, reaching out her own and grabbing onto it. She nodded her head. "mm!"

Sabo smiled back, feeling a warm tingling start at his hand where she was touching him and crawling up to his chest where it seemed a fire was burning. His cheeks flared up and he looked away from her quickly, rubbing the back of his head to try and calm himself down. He felt her small hand squeeze his own in worry, her eyes shining up towards him in question.

He coughed into his fist, clearing the lump that was clogging his throat. "So, _, where is the treasure at?"

_ tilted her head at him as she blinked, a look of confusion and slight shock imminent on her face. "I'm the treasure." She stated, pointing towards herself.

"EH?" Sabo asked, pulling back from her in shock now while blinking in confusion. She was the treasure? But, how? What was so special about her that people are hiding her up here? Maybe she had it inside of her? On her somehow? This just didn't seem plausible to Sabo and the more he thought about it the more confused he grew.

She smiled at him and tugged on his hand. She hopped up onto the windowsill and pulled Sabo up with her. "I'll show you,"

"Ah, wait! I have rope we can use to get down!" Sabo quickly tried to tell her so she didn't do something reckless.

But before he could stop her, she jumped from the window and pulled him along with her, plummeting towards the ground at a fast pace. Shit! He had to think of something! Ace used the Devil Fruit to fly! But he wasn't used to that yet, and at this speed they'd probably fall into the flames. He glanced over at _ and saw a mischievous smile on her face. She held up a peace sign towards him before holding her hand out in front of them with her palm facing the ground. Suddenly fire flew from her hand and hit the ground hard, lifting them up into the air with a huge gust of heat just before they splat on the rocks. He wind gathered around the fire, and thus them, letting them safely put their feet on the ground and watch the fire disappear.

Sabo's jaw dropped as he looked at her in utter dumbfounded astonishment. "What the hell!" He asked, wondering how the hell she just did what he was trying to figure out what to do. She didn't even eat the Devil's Fruit, yet somehow she was able to control the flames like Ace did. Of course there was that first mate Marco who had blue flames, but these…these were just like the Mera Mera Fruits flames. There was no doubt about it.

She giggled at him. "Imagine my surprise when I took your hand and I felt that power." She let go of his hand finally and linked them behind her back, watching as the blonde put his hand in front of his face and stared at it, as if it were going to give him the answers. "That's why I'm the treasure."

"Eh?" Sabo asked, snapping out of his shock and staring at her.

"I'm considered a dangerous person because of my abilities. I also ate a Devil's Fruit. The Paku Paku fruit. Or the copy fruit." _ stared at Sabo, letting her explanation sink into his mind before she continued. "I am able to copy not only other Devil Fruit abilities, but how people look, and their best assets. If a person is a sharp shooter, I can take that ability. Does that help explain a bit?"

"Actually, yeah." He said, understanding now why the Marine's were so intent on getting her. They were planning on using her as a weapon in sorts. If she could copy devil fruit powers and specialties of others, they'd have the ultimate weapon on their side to stop Pirates; or at least people who are against them. But there was still one thing that didn't make since. "Who put you in there then?"

_ looked at Sabo with a guilty look, realizing it was still the one thing she hadn't answered. She rubbed at her arm and shuffled her feet once more, trying to think of the best way to tell him. "I did." She said, giving a half smile . "I was scared that I'd hurt someone if I didn't keep myself away from everyone."

Sabo felt a pang in his chest that made butterflies flutter inside of him all around. He wanted to hug her and never let go. She looked just like he did when he was a child when he wanted to get away from everyone else, but no one would help. She had to do the same thing. She put herself away just so everyone would be safe. He ground his teeth in the back of his jaw, feeling anger for those who didn't reach out a hand to help her. He wanted to find all of them and make them pay. Why was he so protective of her? Why did he feel like there was a fire within his chest? It wasn't because of the Mera Mera No Mi, it was only when she looked at him with those bright _ eyes, and she flashed a smile at him. Or when she held his hand so gently as if he might be the one to break.

He reached out towards her hand gently and grasped it within his, making her look at him in the eye finally. "Come with me then."

She tugged her hand a bit from him, but he tightened his grip, not willing to let go of her hand. "I thought you said you were taking me to a safe place that no one could use me."

He smiled at her again. "That's why I'm saying come with me. You'll love the people that are my friends! And the best way to keep you safe and out of their hands is if you stay by my side."

There was no sound between them aside from their breathing and the wind as the words made their way into _'s head. Her face grew red quickly as she finally realized what the underlying meaning was to his proposal. She felt embarrassed and yet excited at the same time by him feeling so close to her. She wanted to argue against him; because it was still dangerous if she was with him. And what if one of his 'friends' was actually someone who would want to use her for their own demands? What if he was just playing her? So many negative possibilities were swirling around her head as she felt like the world was spinning.

Sabo stared into her eyes with his own deep brown ones. She felt like she could see into him through his eyes. The pain he had to go through to end up with that scar, the joy he feels in his present self from his bright smile. Did she really not trust him? No, she completely trusted him. Even though they just met today, and he was after the treasure to begin with. He threw aside that thought and was now trying to help her. Not some power people can have, but her. If she went with him she wouldn't need to be lonely anymore…..

She tightened her hand on his own, and gave a confident smile. "Alright. Take me away then my knight in shining armor." She teased, knowing this reminded her of those fairytale's all little girls dreamed about. Being locked up in a tower, and having a handsome knight come and save you from the evil clutches holding you there. Maybe this is what she had secretly hoped for. She didn't really know the reason why she locked herself inside that tower of all places, but she had this feeling it needed to be there. She had her answer now; she was meant to be saved by him.

"Oh!" She said, stopping in her tracks as Sabo began to lead her towards the small ship he had. "I never got your name!" She said, cheeks tingeing even more red. How could she have not asked him his name?

Sabo let out a chuckle at her embarrassment and tipped his hat at her. "Sabo." His pearly whites shined at her brightly, and it felt like her heart was going to fly up into her throat and into the sky with how giddy she felt.

_ had never truly been out on the ocean before. Or if she had, she'd completely forgotten. The salty air that brushed past her was refreshing compared to the air that blew into the musty tower. And the feel of the waves gently rocking the boat as they sailed nearly lulled her into a sleep.

"Nice, isn't it?" Sabo asked, putting his arms on either side of her against the railing and leaning against her back.

"DO you sail often?" She asked, eyes still closed as she breathed in the crisp air.

"More often than people think. I may have paperwork all the time, but I still have to travel to a lot of places." He said, making her turn around with a beaming smile upon her face and eyes lit up with adventure and the idea of sailing.

"Does that mean I can go with you?" She asked proudly.

Sabo was completely frozen in the spot as her face was only centimeters from his. He didn't expect her to suddenly turn around. And the proximity of them was throwing him off in a spiral of embarrassment. His ears turned red and he quickly pulled his hat down to hide the red while pulling away from her. "Well I'd be going against my word if I said no. I have to keep you by my side after all."

_ felt disappointed somehow. Maybe it wasn't a confession like she had believed before. He was making it sound more like a job now. Was she this disappointed in him not liking her? Why?

"Sabo!" Koala shouted as the blonde walked towards their tents. "Thank god you're back! I can't stand being in charge anymore!"

She acted like she was crying and was pointing an accusing finger towards the men who were standing behind her with feigned innocence. That was when she noticed _ standing there.

"Oh hi! Who are you?" Koala friendly asked, bouncing over to the new girl with a smile on her face. "My name's Koala! Are you a new girl joining? We need more girls around here!" Then Koala put a finger to her chin and remembered the whole reason Sabo was gone to begin with. "What, weren't you going on a mission to pick something up? Is this her? What's so important about her?"

"Maybe she's Dragon' s secret girlfriend?"

"You idiot! Obviously she's an intel spy from the Marines!"

"Why would she openly come here then?"

The guys were slowly closing around her, wanting answers from the young girl who was tensing up until she was stone and looked utterly afraid for her life. It was too much for her to take in so suddenly. She could feel the power radiating off of them and swirling around inside her head. Her fingers twitched at the jolts of powers and specialties coming from all of them. The wind was slowly picking up around her, making it close to where she was about to lose control of the power inside of her.

An arm quickly went around her waist, nearly making her let the power loose just to blow all of them away. But the heat radiating off of the arm reminded her of who it was. She dropped her fingers and looked up at Sabo who was waving them off and pulling her close into his side.

"Alright! That's enough! Give her some air for pete's sake!" Sabo gripped, giving the men a glare that told them they needed to back off before he lost his temper. "You're going to scare her away before she even joins!"

"But who is she?" One of them cut in, holding his hands out in desperate need to get an answer as to who the new lovely girl was that was with Sabo.

"Yeah. Why was it so important for Dragon to send you on a mission to pick her up?" Koala interjected as well, her own curiosity dampening her intellect to back off from the topic.

Sabo sighed, and furrowed his brows. "I asked Dragon to let me go get her." Sabo told them, hoping they would drop it already, but he wasn't that lucky. Of course they wanted more for an answer than just that. "She's my girlfriend."

"WHAAAAAAAAAAT?"

The whole place burst out with wide eyes and shouts as Sabo had clamped his hands over _'s ears to stop her from getting her ear drums burst. The men looked from one another to see if they had heard it correctly, and then over to Sabo and _. They could see Sabo wrap his arm back around her and look her over for any damage from the shouting.

"She's your girlfriend?" Koala asked, eyes shining brightly in joy and a smile nearly splitting her face in two.

Sabo nodded. "Don't believe me?" He watched nearly all of the men shake their heads in disapproval at him actually having a girlfriend as beautiful as her. He put a frown on his face in disappointment, but sighed nonetheless. "Fine."

Sabo gently cupped her face and pulled her closer to him, leaning over slightly to reach her and press his lips against hers. Their lips molded together as the heat grew and the sweet taste drifted between both of them. Sabo suddenly slipped his tongue along her lip and into her mouth as she gasped, shocking her, but also making her mind go fuzzy. She gripped his shoulders desperately to keep herself standing and he kept her up with his other arm around her face. Finally he pulled away and all the men could see the cloudy look on her face of pure bliss.

"Believe me now?" He smirked at the men, watching most of them try to wipe away their nosebleeds. The men groaned and muttered as they slowly dispersed and got back to work, feeling like all hope had been lost since she already belonged to him. He looked back down at _ and saw her finally come back to her senses. "Sorry, went a little overboard there."

She blinked her eyes and quickly snapped out of it, rubbing her cheeks to get the red away and putting her wrist up to her mouth. "I-it's fine. It got them t-to leave r-r-right?"

"So how about it?" Sabo asked, leaning forward towards her with his hands on his hips.

"How bout what?" She asked back, looking him in the eyes again as he smiled gently at her.

"Becoming my girlfriend." He said, putting her mind in a swirling vortex of emotions once again. She could see the words she wanted to say in her head, but trying to catch them and get them to come out was proving impossible in her state of mind. Sabo chuckled and wrapped his arms around her again, pulling her into his chest as he put his forehead against hers. "I told you I wasn't going to let you leave my side. I'm just surprised you didn't catch the hint then."

"So you were confessing!" She shouted, making Sabo laugh even more.

"Yeah, I was." He laughed, trying to stop so she didn't get embarrassed, but her innocence was just so cute to him and refreshing. "So is that a yes?"

"Of course!" She beamed, jumping up and wrapping her arms around his neck. She took off his hat and held it behind him before kissing him on the lips once more. "I can't say no to my knight after all. And I get a bonus because I get to sail around the sea with you."
