Alright everyone! I hope you had a great week! Thanks to all of you for reading my stories! I still haven't thought of what the special might be, so just hold up until I figure out what I'm going to do! All I know is that I want to make it to 100 haha XP.
This story is a CavendishXRobin story for Klipp. And honestly I was a bit unsure on what to do because I had so many ideas for different stories, but they were all little snippets and together wouldn't make sense. Plus I'm not used to Cavendish and his personality (or multiples I should say). So hopefully I did it justice and made it pretty well! Thank you for requesting Klipp!
The next story is another Cavendish one, but this time he will be paired with Nami! This one is requested by lindianalestari. Phew, you don't know how many times I went back and forth to make sure I spelt that right! XD Thank you for requesting my dear and please await to read that story!
Have a great next week! And don't get stressed out by school for those who are going back! Trust me, I feel ya. My school has started as well. T.T
Cavendish had always felt like a freak. Who wouldn't when they had a deranged murderer as a second personality? He loved his looks and knew he could get any girl he wanted, but that didn't stop the slight fear and gnawing he had inside of him due to Hakuba. But…then he met Nico Robin. He should have turned her into the Navy along with Straw Hat Luffy and the rest of them, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.
Robin trusted him even though she saw Hakuba. She didn't fear Hakuba, and instead contained him. Her fearlessness struck a cord within him. But what really got to him was when he begged her to trust him and let him get her away from the blast; he didn't think she'd do it, and knew he had a short amount of time before Hakuba took over again. He expected her to reject his proposal and let them both die, but instead she accepted it and let him go. He stopped Hakuba from cutting Robin with the sword and used up the last amount of energy he had to get Robin to safety and away from the explosion. Next thing he knew, darkness surrounded him and he went unconscious.
Since that incident he hasn't been able to keep his eyes off of Robin. Of course her beauty was just as great as the rumors were, but it was her fearlessness and strength that really brought his eyes to her. He was started to feel something he'd never felt before…..the need to have somebody notice him…. Never did he have that problem. It was nothing for girls and guys alike to swoon over him, but Robin took no mind, and he wanted her to notice him.
"I hope you are feeling well my lady?" Cavendish asked, taking a rose out from somewhere and handing it to Robin while he looked her dead in the eyes. He was far into her personal space bubble and his eyes shined in the same way as when he was showing off his looks. "It'd be too bad for a beauty such as yourself to get harmed." He flipped some of his hair behind him and batted his eyes at her, trying to look cool in front of her.
"I'm fine," She said simply. Robin gave a simple nod to him and took the rose, giving a plastered smile towards him as thanks. Her attention went back to Luffy instantly who was shouting in joy and jumping around to all the people.
Cavendish felt that gnawing in his chest again, making his fists clench at his sides. He stepped in front of her, blocking her sight from her captain and smiling once more. "Please allow me to help you in any way I can."
Robin's eyebrow quirked upward and she crossed her arms lazily over her chest. "Didn't you want to get Luffy captured before?"
Cavendish opened his mouth to retort against her accusation, but he knew there was no way he was getting out of that one. Everyone knew he had a hate against Luffy and wanted him captured to get out of Cavendish's way. So instead he clamped his mouth shut and let out a sigh. "I cannot stop how I feel against Straw Hat, but that doesn't mean I won't help you."
A small laugh came out of Robin and she quickly but a hand to her mouth to tamper it down. "Alright Cabbage-kun."
Cavendish's cheeks turned a slight pink at the nickname Straw Hat gave him and seemed to have passed on to his crew. He coughed and cleared the pink from his cheeks, regaining his cool composure and giving her a flashing smile.
"Ah! Cabbage!"
Cavendish winced at the familiar voice and knew a split second before to move slightly to the side out of the way of the younger dark haired boy who flew through the air. Both Cavendish and Robin looked down at Luffy as he righted himself and dusted off the dirt.
"Are you alright?" Robin asked, seeing Luffy pout at not landing into Cavendish like he planned to before.
Luffy turned his gaze from Cavendish to Robin and smiled widely, putting his crew mate at ease. He jumped up to show his energy and health and then spotted something behind them back towards the crew. "Hey! I want some!"
He bombed back towards the others who were chomping down on some snacks that were brought over, his attention completely taken from Cavendish to his new interest. Robin let out a small laugh again and took a step forward to follow after her captain, wanting to join the group. Cavendish spotted her though and out of pure reaction grabbed her elbow gently and stopped her from going past him.
Robin looked at him with a real smile this time and removed his hand from her elbow. She hung onto it nicely and tugged at his arm. "You're welcome to join us." His face scrunched up at the idea, making her laugh even more. "I'm sure if you got to know Luffy you wouldn't hate him so much."
"I've gotten to know him well enough." Cavendish grumbled, his face still scrunched, but his hand still hanging onto Robin's.
"Is it because he's stronger?" Robin asked, hitting a nerve inside of Cavendish that made his irritation and rage rise.
"He is not stronger!" He shouted at her, eyebrow twitching in disdain at the mere thought.
"Then what do you have against him?" She kept her temper down, not letting his sudden outbreak to rise her own emotions up. His face was conflicted, he knew how strong Luffy was, but didn't want to admit it. But Robin had heard many stories about Cavendish. About his pride and narcissistic attitude. He kept opening and closing his mouth, like a fish that is trying to breathe out of water.
Robin had to admit, he was very good looking with his golden blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and slim face, but she was never one to swoon over someone. She could appreciate how he looked, but wouldn't risk herself over a man. He didn't have to accept Luffy, but for some reason she wanted him to; and it wasn't because she admired him as her captain. She knew what Cavendish was fighting against inside of him, and saw the pain he had at having to do so often. It left her wanting to help him, but she wasn't going to help someone who so readily insulted her captain.
"Well," She broke the silence between them, stopping him from thinking up an excuse that was viable enough. "While you're thinking up of an answer, how about you join the rest of us in the party."
"Party?" Cavendish asked, not hearing about this event.
"Of course they want to thank those who helped them defeat DoFlamingo, and their release from the Quixote family." Robin explained to him as best as she could, but thought he would have figured it out pretty easily why they would be hosting a party.
Cavendish jutted his chin out and let go of Robin's hand, putting one on his hip and the other over his chest. It was as if Robin could see his nose being lengthened at his pride. "Of course! Who wouldn't want to congratulate me?!" His prideful laugh echoed out of him and resounded outward towards even the Straw Hat crew.
Robin shook her head with a sigh, but the smile on her face didn't disappear. She had to commend him on his pride and how it was unwavering. She lifted her hand and gave a small wave to him. "Well, if you feel up to hanging with us, find us out later."
She didn't give him a chance to stop her this time, continuing on towards her friends to join in on the fun. Cavendish stopped his boastful laughter and stared after her, realizing he messed up his chance and cursing himself in his head. He was definitely seeking them out during the party! Not for that stupid Straw Hat, but so he could talk with Robin more.
The party was loud and energizing, but it was filled with great energy. After all they were no longer under the control of DoFlamingo and his 'family'. Everyone could do as they wished; those turned into dolls were now back to normal; and their original king was back in order. The Luffy and his crew were being congratulated left and right by the people of the town, playing games, joking, singing, drinking, eating, and just having a good time with everyone. No longer did they live in fear, and no longer did they have to fight one another for freedom.
Robin sat back, no wanting to be pulled into the middle of the crowd that was playing with Luffy. She was more of a sit and relax kind of partier, and it was enough for her just to watch Luffy and the others have fun.
"What's a beautiful lady like you drinking alone?"
Robin didn't even need to turn her head to know who was talking to her. "So you finally came over Cabbage-kun?"
That small twitch in his eyebrow came back and he sighed, shrugging it off of his shoulder. "That is not my name you know!" He couldn't stop the sentence from coming out of him; it was as if he heard Luffy saying it every time whenever he heard that retched nickname. "My name is Cavendish the great!"
Robin stared at him but didn't say anything, letting him feel the pressure of her stare. He stood there with his chest out in pride, waiting for her to apologize and swoon over him, yet it never came. "Alright…..Cavendish." She gave a gentle smile which made his heart thump loudly in his chest.
He shook his head slightly, throwing the pink off his cheeks that were starting to float to the surface. No, no, no, no, no, NO! This is NOT how it's supposed to go! Women were supposed to swoon over him, not the other way around! He mentally smacked himself and it was as if he could hear Hakuba laughing within him at his own weakness.
"Here, have a drink." Robin said, handing him a large bottle of alcohol to pour himself a drink. But Cavendish was so surprised by her voice cutting into his thoughts that he ended up taking the bottle and chugging it down. The liquid burned down his throat and settled in his stomach heavily. Now his cheeks were becoming pink, not from embarrassment, but from getting buzzed. Robin's eyes were wide in her own surprise. She didn't expect him to suddenly chug down most of the bottle. "I never knew you were such a drinker."
Cavendish glanced at her from the corner of his eyes and gave a feeble grumble. He watched her sit on the ground and swayed a bit, the liquor slowly sinking into him more and more. He shrugged his shoulders and slid down the wall he leaned against, sitting next to her and crossing his legs. The two of them sat there for a moment, just staring out at the party and watching the people go by.
"Why did you trust me?" Cavendish suddenly asked Robin, the big question he was hiding within himself slipping out as his mind wandered.
Robin looked over at him and gave a gentle smile. "You reminded me of me. Two sides in one person." Cavendish didn't seem to understand what she was talking about and raised an eyebrow at her. She tapped her head, "inside here there is a way to destroy the government, and they know it. A dangerous weapon they don't want people knowing about. You're the same aren't you? You have a dangerous being inside of you the government doesn't want people knowing about." She turned her head back to look at the crowd and leaned her head back. "Sometimes it's tiring stopping that side of you. SO when there is someone to trust you, it's like a relief is given." Her eyes followed Luffy, who was her relief in her time of need.
"Hm….." Cavendish couldn't do much but let out a hum. The liquor was now past making him buzzed and was now making him drunk to where he wasn't sure he'd be able to form a full sentence. He swayed back and forth, feeling like the earth was spinning quickly beneath him. His head dropped to Robin's shoulder, putting the spinning a little at ease. "mm…..you smell good….."
Robin felt herself jump slightly when his head hit her shoulder. She watched him from the corner of her eye, watching as the pink in his cheeks got darker and darker and his eyes became more and more unclear. He can't hold his liquor very well then…..though this was a very strong sake and he just chugged half the bottle. She was surprised he wasn't passed out already. He gave a hiccup, his head jumping off her shoulder from the sudden movement of his body. Slowly it slid down and his body went with it. His head hit her lap with his body still in the cross legged position while turned sideways. It made a laugh burst out of Robin by how ridiculous it looked.
He straightened his legs out while Robin grabbed the bottle from him before it spilled. At first she wanted to make him sit up from her lap, but the flushed cheeks and glazed over eyes told her he probably wasn't sure what was going on himself. She took the hat from his head and gently put it to the side, not wanting it to get ruined. Her hand then gently placed itself on his forehead, feeling the heat that was climbing up to his skin.
"Don't…don't let me sleep." He told her, his eyes already batting slower and slower in the sleepiness that covered him. "I don't….want you to get hurt…."
"What?" Robin asked, her mind wandering in confusion as to how she would get hurt while he slept, and the answer seemed to hit her, but it was too late. His eyes had drifted down from the weight of the sleep on him. Cavendish's face suddenly changed as his eyes whipped open, but were pure white, and the smile on his face grew, splitting his face in half and the malicious aura gushed out of him.
His head cricked towards her with the smile aimed at her now, but Robin was quick enough to cross her arms in front of her and make others sprout around him, pinning him down to the floor with no possible way of moving. Hakuba struggled against her arms desperately, wanting to let his blood lust loose and attack everyone here at the party, but Robin wasn't going to allow that. If Cavendish was prepared to fight him however he could, she would help him when he couldn't.
"So you come out when he sleeps….." She theorized, tilting her head and really looking at Hakuba. He seemed down trodden by her being able to stop him, not once, but twice now. He seemed to give up fighting against her and just laid there. "How about you go back to sleep."
"You wouldn't hurt Cavendish here would you?" He spoke suddenly, his voice slightly deeper than Cavendish's, proving he was a different person. "You have a soft spot for him do you not?"
Robin narrowed her eyes at the murderer and sighed, letting her shoulders slump slightly. "How I feel about him is none of your business."
"Oh? And yet you trusted him when he could easily murder you." Hakuba retorted, his accusation hitting her in the nerve. His smile grew because he felt her arms weakened in their hold, giving him the knowledge that the more he made her lose focus, the more her concentration would break. "You can't have Cavendish without having me."
The hold her arms had on him were nearly completely loosened, but suddenly her face looked at him sternly and her arms tightened on him till he felt like he was going to break. "I can handle you just fine on my own." She gave him a wicked smile of her own, showing she didn't fear him like everyone else would. "It's you who needs to understand the dangers I have within me. Now…..Go to sleep."
Before Hakuba could retort against her more and fight against her arms she made more appear next to his head, having them bend their wrists slightly to grasp either side of his head. "You wouldn't!"
Robin gave him a bright smile with her eyes closed and her head tilted, but the dark aura that surrounded her actually put Hakuba a little on edge. He could tell she wasn't kidding and that she was going to do it if it meant stopping him. Sweat dripped down his face as he squirmed in panic, her hands tightened more on either side of his head and slowly began to turn it.
"AH!" Hakuba shouted out loudly, trying to shock her concentration, but it was no use, her determination was aflame in her eyes and it scared Hakuba. She was definitely someone to reckon with and Hakuba commended Cavendish internally for finding such a woman, but he also felt bad for him for having to deal with her.
Suddenly Hakuba put himself out, not wanting to deal with being murdered by Robin who was pushing his head more and more towards the limit of his spine. Robin spotted his face changing again and stopped, giving a deep sigh out of her and letting her arms drop. She wasn't sure if her lie would work…but she couldn't let him loose in this crowd. She leaned back against the wall and relaxed, putting her hand back to the top of his head and giving a second glance to his sleeping face to make sure it wasn't a trick from Hakuba.
An hour went by as Cavendish napped on her lap, resting the booze off slightly enough to feel himself turn groggy. But then panic set in and his eyes jerked opened so he could look around at his surroundings. There were people walking around with smiles and laughter, showing at least there wasn't too much trouble caused.
"Don't worry." Robin said, turning his attention towards her. His shoulders seemed to relax at seeing her smile and a sigh came out of him in relief much like she had done earlier.
"What happened?" He asked, sitting up and putting a hand to his head, still feeling the world spin.
"Hakuba left." She told him simply, not really giving him much of an explanation. She didn't want him to panic and make the booze cause an even greater affect on his brain. "I handled it so you don't have to worry. No casualties."
Cavendish stared at her with his eyes blinking, not sure if he was in the real world or some sort of dream. But how he woke up, and how Robin was smiling t him to put him at ease told him that this was real and somehow she stopped Hakuba and sent him away. A small chuckle came out of him as he leaned forward and put a hand to his head. It was unbelievable! Robin grew better and better with everything he learned about her.
His eyes roamed back to her, looking her up and down and really admiring her beauty that seemed to glow with the mores strength she emitted from the inside. He leaned on his hand behind him and turned his body slightly, looking at her slightly. He couldn't stop himself from leaning towards her till their faces were inches apart. Then he stopped, feeling his heart beating so loud it was about to jump out of his throat.
"Don't tell me your scared of a kiss after having to deal with Hakuba all the time." Robin teased, her breath breezing over his face gently and smoothly. She leaned the rest of the way in, connecting their lips together into a sweet kiss that tasted sweet. Whether it came from Robin or Cavendish, neither knew, but it was nice.
Slowly he pulled back and looked her in the eye, a proud smile on his lips. "Me? Afraid? As if." He chuckled, the smile widening. "I just want you to know beforehand what I'm about to do so you can tell how great it is."
Robin let out a small giggle and picked her hands up, cupping his face and holding him in place. "Then show me how great you are."
Cavendish leaned forward and put his other arm around her, leaning into her so she pushed against the wall. Her hands went behind him and her fingers escaped into his golden locks, feeling the silky texture and how soft it was. His tongue slipped into her mouth, surprising her by the upfront technique, but she wasn't running from this. Maybe Hakuba was right about one thing…..she had a soft spot for Cavendish. Though people whistled at them while they walked by, they ignored them all and continued their kiss.
He pulled back again and breathed deeply, giving them both air from the kiss. "Seems I now have another reason to hunt down Straw Hat Luffy."
"Yeah?" She teased, quirking an eyebrow.
"Yep. I have to prove to a certain beautiful lady that I'm stronger." He told her, bringing up the argument they had earlier that day.
Robin laughed uncontrollably at the sheer stupidness of the statement, not believing for a second that that was really why he wanted to hunt Luffy down. But she had to let him keep some of his pride after all.
