Chapter 19: Stay Over
The following morning, the newlyweds insisted they should take the evening plane so they could spend some more time together. Levy quickly called her boss and told her she'd take another day off, breathing easily once everything was settled. Time flew by and Laxus and Mirajane drove the three couples to the airport, promising to visit more often.
The three Dragon siblings and their dates arrived in the dead of the night back home, parting ways at the airport. Gajeel took Levy by the hand and got them into a cab, Levy expecting him to drive her home. He didn't.
Instead, he ordered the driver to get him to his place. Levy was too tired to realize they weren't going to Levy's apartment to drop her off, so, when the cab stopped in front of Gajeel's apartment building, she raised an eyebrow. Gajeel merely took the travel bags and Lily's pet box in one hand and took Levy by the hand, dragging her to his place.
"Shouldn't I go home...?" Levy asked at one point, as Gajeel unlocked his door.
"Nah, I'm too tired. Besides, we already slept in the same bed and nothing happened. I can control myself, as you can see."
"No, that wasn't the point." The two stepped inside, Gajeel throwing his keys in a bowl after he locked the door. "Is it OK for me to... ya know... spend so much time with you?" Gajeel looked at her and started laughing, making Levy pout.
"You can spend as much time as you want. I, for one, can't get enough." He winked at her, activating a blush. "I'm dead meat..." He rubbed his belly as he yawned loudly, releasing Lily a moment later. "Shower, then sleep?" He smiled crookedly at her, Levy nodding.
"Okay." She smiled warmly at him, following the raven haired man to his bedroom. "You do know I have no spare clothes here, right?" Levy said as Gajeel rummaged through his drawer and pulled out a t-shirt.
"From my point of view, you don't need any clothes." He winked at her and smiled with a hint of fang, Levy slapping his bicep.
"You'd better behave!" Levy said with a blush, Gajeel pecking her on the cheek as he passed her.
"You know I will. Come on already!" The man said as he started to undress, again making sure to leave his underpants on.
Ten minutes later, the two were ready for bed, Gajeel pulling Levy on his chest as the two made themselves comfortable in the master bed. He kissed her forehead as Levy started snoring faintly. A few moments later, he was fast asleep.
Morning came with the usual routine, Gajeel driving his girl to work. The week passed in a blur, Levy not finding the time to meet with Gajeel, but they did talk on the phone. So, Friday evening, Gajeel was waiting for Levy in front of the salon as she closed everything. He greeted her with a fanged smile and a scorching kiss, Levy melting on the spot.
"Hi..." She said with cloudy eyes, Gajeel taking her backpack and throwing it on the back seat of his car. He opened the door for her, then went to the driver's seat and started the car. He placed her hand on the gearshift and twined their fingers together, Levy noticing a smile playing on his lips.
"How was your day?" She asked.
"You have no idea how good it feels to have someone ask you such a simple question." He shook his head in disbelief, then told her all about his day, pulling the car into his parking space once they got to his place.
Levy started spending the weekends at Gajeel's apartment, the man taking advantage of their privacy and intensifying the kissing marathons, but stopping each time Levy panicked if his exploring hands went somewhere she didn't want. It was a bit frustrating for him to get up from that soft, hot body, but he decided he wouldn't force her into anything. She would succumb to his charms sooner or later.
They kept the routine, each weekend Levy spending at his place, each weekend Gajeel enjoying the fact that Levy was slowly letting him seduce her. Slow step by slow step, his bluenette let him kiss her senseless, going down her jawline, her neck, easily going lower. She still hadn't let him see her topless, but he did achieve a small victory when she let him take off her shirt. He almost burst through his pants when he saw her in just her frilly undergarment. He spent a good few minutes just looking at her, panting slightly from their kissing marathon. A cute, but very tempting blush covered her cheeks as he caressed her body with his red eyes. He could see her tightened nipples under the fabric, his mouth watering. Obviously, junior was straining to get free, but he kept it in check.
"You're making me feel embarrassed, stop staring..." The shy girl said, covering her small sports-bra clad breasts. He grabbed her hands and moved them gently aside.
"Don't hide from me. You're beautiful." Levy gulped the lump in her throat as he laid his topless body over hers, cupping her face tenderly and kissing her hotly. One hand caressed her arm down to her waist, Gajeel feeling with his thumb Levy's breast as he lowered his hand.
"God, you have the softest skin..." He breathed on her lips, trailing kisses on her neck the way he knew she liked it. He took her hand and moved it to his shoulder, Levy feeling too shy to touch or caress him during their marathons. "Touch me." He whispered on her collarbone, caressing the skin above her chest with his lips. Levy moved her hand slowly, shyly, thinking how and what she should do. "I can hear the wheels clicking inside your head." He chuckled. "Just touch me. Don't think, just feel." Levy obliged, moving her hand on his back, raising goosebumps. He growled huskily, the girl smiling. They kept at it for a few more minutes, then Gajeel broke off, panting heavily.
"I need to go calm junior before we sleep." He pecked her again hotly, then got up and headed for the bathroom. Levy was lightheaded as she let her heartbeat slow. She was enjoying these hot matches, wondering with slight fear how would it feel to move to the next intimate step. As she moved from the bed to get dressed, she noticed something strange. Something damp and cold was bothering her between her legs. Weird. Every time she and Gajeel locked lips more than a few minutes, she had to change her panties before sleep. She did just that before Gajeel came back, putting on his t-shirt and snuggling in the blanket. A moment later, Gaheel joined her, pecking Levy softly on the lips before spooning behind her.
They kept it safe a few more weekends, Gajeel surprising his girl on their third month anniversary with a single red rose. She didn't even expect him to remember, but the raven haired man floored her when he answered honestly.
"You're my last one. I even remember the day we first met, when you saved my life, how could I forget the day I gave you your first kiss? If that wasn't special enough to remember..." She smiled so widely she thought she'd break her face, hugging him tightly as a thank you.
The following weekend, Gajeel received a call from Levy.
"Hi, puss. Listen, I'm sorry, but I can't come this weekend..." Levy said sheepishly.
"What? Why?" Gajeel's face dropped, not realizing how much he wanted her there.
"Well... You see... I'm... incapacitated...?" She trailed off, not knowing how to tell him.
"Incapacitated?" He echoed. "Did something happen? Are you OK?" He suddenly got a bad feeling.
"Uhm... don't freak out, OK?" Levy bit her lip nervously on the other end.
"Usually when one says to another to not freak out, that's exactly what happens." He answered, waiting for Levy's answer.
"I... can't walk... I twisted my ankle and I'm in a cast..."
"What?" He got up suddenly from the couch, his fear shooting sky-high. "I'm coming over, hold on." He motioned to get dressed, hunting for his socks.
"Really, I'm fine, it's just a twisted ankle..." Levy felt bad lying to him as she glanced sheepishly to the cast on her arm. "There's no need for you to bother..."
"Bother?" Gajeel smirked. Just like his girl to think she was a bother to him, even though he told her many times that she's the best thing that happened to him. "I'm coming over. Get a pack ready, you're gonna stay with me till you get better." He hung up, not waiting for her answer. Oh... boy... Was he gonna have a fit or what seeing Levy with her right arm and leg in a cast. She sighed heavily, knowing he would be there any minute, then grabbed the crutch with her left hand and hopped to the bedroom to prepare some spare clothes for the next three weeks.
Twenty minutes later, the intercom buzzed, Levy accepting the fact that Gajeel would probably have a stroke when he saw her. So she wobbled to the door, unlocked the main gate and waited by the door to open it for her boyfriend. He didn't even get a chance to knock, Levy opening the door with a strange look on her face.
"Should you be standing?" He asked before he saw her right arm, Levy making space for him to get inside. "What the hell happened?!" Ah. He noticed. Gajeel hurried to Levy when he saw both her forearm and ankle in a white cast. He checked her head for bumps, turning her this way and that to check for bruises.
"I'm fine. I fell out of the bus. Well... I was pushed, but it was rush-hour and there were a lot of people, and I was standing glued to the door, and when it swung open, the people behind me pushed... And I fell on my leg with my hand under it..." She said in a hurry, Gajeel growling with anger.
"When did it happen?"
"This morning... I was close to work, so my boss called an ambulance. I grabbed a cab back home."
"Why didn't you call me?" Gajeel asked with a hint of sadness.
"I didn't want to make you worry." Gajeel pursed his lips, staring at her.
"Don't ever do that again. If you need me, call me. Right away. You make me worry by not calling."
"Sorry..." She hopped to the couch to rest her good leg.
"How long do you have to keep the cast?"
"Uhm... Thr... three weeks..." She said in a small voice.
"What?" He boomed. "So it's not just a twisted ankle! Stop lying to me, I hate it!"
"Uh... OK... Sorry... I have a broken wrist and a few cracked bones on my ankle." She looked away while Gajeel fumed.
"Damn it, Levy!" He racked a hand through his long hair, sitting next to her a moment later.
"Sorry..."
"Stop apologizing! It wasn't your fault!" He said in a slight angry tone.
"Then why are you angry at me?"
"Because you didn't count on me when you needed it. Because you lied to me." He sighed heavily, calming himself. "I know you were taught to take care of yourself, but... Rely on me, too. You're not alone anymore. We're a team." He sat down next to her, took her hand and continued. "I ain't the kind of douche to sit back and watch while my woman is hurt or in need of anything. So don't keep shit like this from me again. It would just hurt me more."
"Okay... Thank you." She smiled shyly and placed her head on his shoulder.
"Now. What do you need for a longer stay at my place?"
"Well, the clothes I put on the bed and..." She got up, Gajeel growling at her.
"Stay put!" He jumped from the couch and grabbed a large travel bag. "Clothes." He headed for the bed, placed those in the pack, then went to the dresser, grabbing a handful of panties, sports-bras, t-shirts, pants and so on. "Are these enough?"
"Yeah."
"Good. What's next?"
"Hygiene stuff. From my bathroom." He went to the bathroom and returned with his hands full of shampoo, shower gel, sponge, thooth brush and paste and feminine products. Levy's face burst when she saw he brought her the package of cotton and tampons.
"Don't gimme that embarrassed look, I've had four girls before you. I know you become monsters once a month." He smirked when he saw Levy puff her cheeks.
"I'm good for the next three weeks and a half..." She said in a small, embarrassed voice.
"Good. What else?" He took the feminine products and put them back where he found them.
"Sketch books, eraser, pencils..." She said in a thoughtful voice, tapping her chin with her left index finger, Gajeel hunting for everything she needed.
"Why do you need these? You can't draw with that hand." The raven haired man said once he found everything and brought them to the pack.
"I'm ambidextrous."
"No shit?" He said impressed, Levy nodding.
"If I do make a few sketches, I can finish them after I get this thing off." Levy pointed to her cast.
"Okay, then."
Half and hour later, the pack was done, Gajeel hauling it to the car.
"Wait here." He ordered, taking Levy's crutch to the car. He hurried out the door, leaving the girl with her hand hanging in the air, returning minutes later for his girl.
"Did you take everything?" Levy nodded, checking for her phone, wallet and keys. "Good." He bent over and placed his arms under Levy's body, lifting her from the couch.
"Wh... what are you doing? I can walk!"
"No, you can hop. And I'm not risking you breaking anything else."
"But I'm heavy..."
"I can manage. Lock up." He said sternly, enjoying Levy's blush. She obliged, Gajeel carrying her to his car. Once they got to his place, he again carried her all the way to the apartment, then hurried to the car to get her stuff.
"Thank you, Gajeel. Really." She said when he was placing the pack next to the couch.
"Anything for my girl." His eyes were tender as he smiled warmly at her.
"It's good you have a tub, too. It's gonna be easier to take a bath. My place has only a shower cabin."
"I can always help you with that, too..." He smirked mischievously, Levy lighting up like Rudolph's nose.
"In your dreams, buster!"
"You know, my dreams often come true, so..."
"Oh, shush, you!"
That weekend, the family gathered at Gajeel's place after they heard what happened with Levy. Lucy quickly hurried to her friend, making sure (more like stressing) Levy had everything she needed. Natsu popped his head through the door with a triumphant smile, wiggling the colored markers he bought especially for this occasion. His siblings merely shook their heads, letting him sign Levy's casts.
Gajeel barely let her do anything while she was staying at his place, Levy losing her patience a few times, reminding him she wasn't handicapped, and she could go to the bathroom on her own. Plus, she had a minor fit when she saw the state of the apartment after his 'cleaning lady' came. She knew she was supposed to stay put while Gajeel was at work, but Levy wasn't used to sitting on her ass all day. Plus, she was bored out of her mind. So she started dusting and disinfecting the two bathrooms.
Of course, Gajeel had a fit when he saw her in the kitchen, cooking. Sure, he was impressed with the way his place looked, but he told her a thing or two about her moving around.
"Well, I'm bored! And it's not the first time I'm in a cast! It's my..." She paused a moment to count silently. "Eleventh time for my right hand and around nineth for my leg." Gajeel gapped at her as she continued. "I was a very active child, and I used to get in a lot of fights... But mostly were made while tripping over things or running into wall when I was chasing my idiot classmates."
"Eleven." Gajeel repeated amazed, not believing his ears.
"Yes. That's why I'm ambidextrous. I had to take notes and tests and stuff. The teachers gave me a break, but I couldn't just sit around and watch everybody else write down stuff while I admired the paint on the walls."
"But, still, you didn't have to clean the pla..."
"Oh, please." Levy cut him. "Have you ever seen how that woman you call 'cleaning lady' does her job? Come on, she's charging way too much for sloshing a filthy mop on the floor. She didn't even bother to disinfect the toilet. There wasn't a week when we didn't clean the place on Saturdays. Do you have any idea how filthy the shower cabin was? Geez, puss, you're too good with some people. People who don't even deserve that kindness."
"Are you done?" He asked in a bored tone, letting her calm down.
"Yes."
"Good. Cuz one: the place looks great, I'm impressed." Levy beamed, Gajeel continuing his speech. "Two: my stomach is growling like crazy just from the wonderful smell (I don't know what you cooked, but I can't wait to have some)." Levy beamed more. "But three: the doctor specifically said to STAY PUT, woman!" The girl pouted as Gajeel scooped her up and placed her on a chair in the kitchen. "Now. It's not like I don't appreciate everything you did." He said as he pulled two bowls and poured some soup. "But, if you wanna get those bones healed faster, stop prancing around like a deer. Cuz you're not one. Plus, you refuse to take your anti-inflammatory meds."
"Well, they only take away the pain, not the inflammation. Just another worthless chemichal in my system." Gajeel shook her head and placed a bowl and a spoon under her nose, then sat himself next to her, starting to eat.
"Mmm, 's good." He said impressed, Levy smiling widely. After that little stunt, Gajeel practically served her in bed.
Fast forward three weeks later, Levy finally returned home after Gajeel took her to the hospital for her final check-up. She felt good to be home, not noticing Gajeel's sullen expression. They parted ways, Levy promising she would be spending the weekend at him. However, her landlord had a different idea. Thursday didn't start well for Levy, waking up with loud pounding at the door. She got up and wobbled to the door, looking through the visor.
"Good morning." She greeted her landlord, scratching her head. He shoved a paper under her nose, then turned on his heels and left without a word. She read it carefully, her heart stopping briefly. "You're kicking me out?" She yelled after the man, rage filling her. "You asshole! That's not how our contract works, you son of a bitch! I'm only a week late!" The man was already at the door, but he turned around to face the bluenette.
"The contract works however I want it to work." He said in a bored tone. "You didn't pay the rent on time this month, you're out. There are plenty of people who wanna lease a place. Get your shit packed, I'm coming tomorrow for this month's rent and the key."
"I was in a cast till yesterday, for your information! How the hell am I supposed to find an apartment in one day?" Levy asked outraged.
"Don't really give a shit." The man walked out of the building, leaving Levy to stare after him. She balled her fists, swearing in her native language till her voice was hoarse and the next door neighbor started pounding in the wall. She sighed, calming down, then dread filled her. She couldn't call Gajeel, he just brought her home. She was sure he'd think she was taking advantage of him. Sure, Gajeel said it was no problem, but the girl felt like a burden the past three weeks. So she called Lucy instead.

To pre-answer your questions:
Yes, I have a personal record for the number of casts. I lost count around ten years ago and I had an even number at each limb. eleven. and I've had some more since then, but I can't really remember... So... lost count at 44 casts... What can I say? I have very flexible joints (that saved me a lot of broken bones).
Yes, I'm ambidextrous. Had to learn to write with my left hand in school. At some point in my life, it became like a 'welcome to school' thing - having one of my limbs in a cast- usually a hand, since my 'adorable' classmates missed me through summer holiday enough to make me chase after them or just beat the crap out of them.
I was still staying at my mom's when me and hubby got together. We were a thing for around 3 months or so when we started repairing our apartment. We had all of our stuff crammed into the kitchen while the repairmen did their thing in the other two rooms, so, naturally, I really had no place to stay. My brother packed and went to sleep at his girl's house and mom got to sleep in the kitchen. And me... well, my Gajeel 'graciously' offered to lend a hand (more of which you will be reading in the next chapter)
