Righty-O! Ok! Back on normal schedule!...hopefully! ^.^' Only 2…I REPEAT TWO! 2! DOS! ZWEI! DEUX! KAKSI! NI! DALAWA!...That's all the languages I know haha….but besides the point! There are only 2 weeks left till the tournament deadline is closed! The last day will be NOVEMBER 12th! Remember it because I will NOT make any exceptions. I'm a bit wired because I have had three cups of coffee so far, each with three extra shots of espresso! To some that may seem like nothing, but me! I RARELY drink coffee so this was not the best of choices for me! -_-' I'm not very bright at times.
Anywho~ Back again on topic! I have had many requests! And thank you so much! I need to point out something because I've had a few worried messages from lot of people! You ARE allowed to put in multiple requests, but each one will be counted as an individual. Say you put in 12 requests, only one might make it. When I put out the list with the winners in the slots, I will put their name and WHICH story I chose. So no need to worry about that! If there are anymore questions please message me and I will gladly help all I can!
This story request was for a SanjiXKalifa story. And boy am I glad that Sanji finally got some love! I think this'll be the first Sanji one I've done huh? Let's hope it goes well. Now I'm not going to make him as goofy as I normally do because he is the main character in this one. I want to show more of his gentleman serious side and not his squiggly heart eyed goofy self. This is the right time for him too because if any of you have been keeping up with the manga you know its all about Sanji right now! T.T though I'm not sure how much my heart can take anymore with so many mixed emotions. I feel like one of those goofy mimes that changes expressions from one to another quickly…whoops off topic again! Oh! The request was made by MossHead! *Slaps head* I can't believe I almost forgot that.
The next story idea will also be for MossHead who wants a PaulieXMozuXKiwi…..ok I have to make a confession. I completely forgot who Mozu and Kiwi were and I had to ask Gakuto to help me figure it out. T.T I just called them the twins in my head…Bad Kris! Bad! But! I am happy for a Paulie story too since there aren't many out there for him! So Moss Head anything you want specific on this one? Or do I have free reign?
….I gotta lay off the coffee….rereading what I just typed in the talking bold makes my head spin…..
Have a great day and enjoy~
Sanji knew that Kalifa was working for Rob Lucci, but he could see that she was just doing to save her own skin. To go against Lucci was basically a death wish within itself. As she lay there on the floor, defeated by Nami she looked lost and hopeless. It was like that glint in her eye from before was now tampered out. He was making his way back outside after fighting his own battle when he saw her laying there in the middle of the room. His inner instinct was to help her, but he also knew the nagging voice within his head was right when it told him she was the enemy that was trying to take Robin away.
"Oi, how long are you going to lay there? You'll catch a cold." Sanji asked, lighting another cigarette. Regardless though, he had to stay on guard in case she was just tricking him.
"Just finish me off." She grumbled, closing her eyes and giving up.
Sanji breathed out, letting the smoke in his lungs form a cloud in front of him. He shrugged off his jacket and walked over to Kalifa, laying it over her gently. "I promised I would never harm a lady. Especially not one as beautiful as you." He stopped, catching himself from reverting back to looking at her with innocence. "If you're going to lay there at least stay covered up. Wouldn't want you to catch a cold."
He sucked in another puff before letting it out and turning on his heel, glancing at her one last time before making his way out.
"…Why?" Kalifa muttered, stopping Sanji from leaning her alone in this room. Sanji turned back to look at her and quirked an eyebrow at her sudden question that could pertain to so much. "Why go through so much trouble for one woman?"
"Why not?" He asked back simply, letting his question sink into her. "Why shouldn't we protect someone we consider a friend?"
"But she's done so much wrong!" Kalifa shouted, feeling more jealous than angry. Why did Nico Robin find friends such as these to protect her and even wage a war against all of the government just to get her back, when the 'friends' she received saw her as nothing but a pawn. She hated that Nico Robin seemed to get everything while she was left lying her with no one to help her.
Sanji could hear the break in her voice as she shouted out her frustration. So this was the true Kalifa…..It made his heart ache for her, knowing what kind of pain she was in and knew he what that felt like, at least somewhat. His shoes clacked against the floor as he walked back over to her, squatting down next to her. "But she hasn't done wrong to us." He told her, looking her in the eye with gentle ones of his own. "Besides, the wrongs she did was only to survive. Wouldn't you do anything you could to survive as well?" Kalifa had turned her eyes onto him, water building up into the corners of her eyes. She gritted her teeth trying to stop them from coming out. Sanji gave a small smile towards her and placed his hand over her eyes. "I can't handle when a lady cries in front of me." He used his thumb to wipe away the water. "I'm sure one of these days you'll find your own friends…..TRUE friends….that'll do the same. See you again Kalifa."
Sanji stood up once again and left the room, knowing he would need to join his friends with fighting against the Marine's who were drawing on them. But what Sanji had said had stuck with Kalifa, and even when she was finally able to move once again his words stuck with her enough she left Lucci and the group.
"Luffy! Stay out of the kitchen!" Sanji shouted as the kitchen door flung open and the young captain flew out with Sanji behind them with his leg outstretched. He had obviously kicked Luffy out because the captain looked guilty with a full mouth and crumbs on the edges of his face. He dashed away from Sanji quickly, not wanting anymore wrath upon his misdeeds.
A light laugh echoed across the deck, but it wasn't Nami or Robin who it came from. Their heads swiveled towards the noise and there on the edge of the ship was Kalifa with her legs crossed and her glasses glinting in the sun.
"Still as rowdy as ever." She commented, eyes flicking across them one by one. The Straw Hats instantly went into a battle stance, ready for Lucci and his group to suddenly appear for revenge. Kalifa waved her hand in front of her, understanding their defensive pose. "They're not here. I left the group that day we were defeated."
"So why are you here now?" Robin asked, obvious fear reflecting in her eyes from the past memory that haunted her.
"I just…" She couldn't stop her eyes moving over to Sanji who was hardly standing on defense and instead was just looking at her reproachfully. "….Just wanted to kill time." She stated, not sure herself really why she hunted them down and jumped aboard their ship. When she heard the Straw Hats were close by she had this sudden urge to go towards them and see what they…..or he was up to.
Most of the crew members quirked an eyebrow at the answer, how were they supposed to react to that kind of answer anyway? She just came to kill time? Was that supposed to be taken in a good way or a bad way? But as she sat there waiting for them to decide what to do they came to the conclusion that for now she wasn't meaning any harm. And it wasn't hard to notice that her attention was on Sanji this whole time.
"Sanji! Party!" Luffy shouted excitedly, coming to a different conclusion in his mind that included a whole banquet of food that he'd be able to munch on. Kalifa smiled and took that as an invitation. She slipped off the edge of the railing and began to walk across the deck. At first she was going to just sit off because she didn't want to bother the others….and honestly didn't know what she'd say to any of them after what she did…..but then her eyes caught onto Sanji was again who was heading into the kitchen with a grumble about locking the door so Luffy couldn't bother him and eat the food.
The door swung shut behind her and her heels clacked against the floor. Kalifa had not only changed her ways, but her looks as well. She realized she came off a little too much as a serious secretary. She took on more of a plain look this time. Her hair now stays down out of the hold it used to be in, her outfit went from the showy black one with fish nets to a light yellow shirt with a dark blue skirt. She was always told it was a nice color arrangement that complemented her looks. She still wore heels, but now they were more plain and less business like. She felt better about herself now, and there was no longer the issue of Paulie stepping in and telling her to cover herself up. Kalifa calmly followed him further into the kitchen, looking around at the handy work Franky did on the ship. She sat down at the bar looking into the kitchen, making herself comfortable.
"Are you really here just to kill time?" Sanji muttered out finally, his question pointed toward her though his eyes were on the skillet in front of him. She didn't answer, making him sigh and let out a breath of smoke. "Oh well, as long as you're not here to harm someone. There's always room for another beautiful lady."
Kalifa sat up straight and blushed, taken back in surprise at his compliment. It never fazed her when other men complimented her looks, so why did it feel so nice when he did? It was as if his compliments struck right into her heart and nestled itself there. She place a hand under her chin, splaying her fingers out over her mouth, nose, and cheeks, trying to cover the blush that was growing hotter and hotter the more she thought of the compliment.
"You're more quiet than you used to be." Sanji said, suddenly in front of her and leaning on the counter. "Did the battle change you that much?" He teased her, trying to get her to speak more like she used to. He reached his hand out and grabbed her hand that was under her chin and pulled it towards his mouth. Sanji pressed his lips to the top of her hand, the soft fluttering air brushing her skin. "I like the new look. It suits you."
This time she didn't have her hand covering her face to hide the blush. Her face turned red at the gentlemanly gesture, but this time it was obvious to Sanji's eyes. Sanji pulled back from her hand slowly, eyes transfixed on her face that was so purely innocent that it sent his mind into a whirlpool. The Kalifa in front of him was nothing like the one they had fought against all that time ago. The confident, showy Kalifa from that time was now one that saw simple gestures such as that as something to be embarrassed about.
"Um….Can I have my hand back?" She asked in a soft voice, her other hand coming up as her head turned towards her to cover her face. Though she asked that she didn't make a move to take her hand away from his warm one. In truth she didn't want to let go of his hand, but at the same time her embarrassment was building as she felt like her heart would fly out of her chest if she left her hand in his.
Sanji couldn't take his eyes away from her. Her eyes were shining so brightly and her face was so red that it brought a small part in him he didn't know he had. A smirk crept over his face and he had this feeling that he wanted to tease her more. He wanted her to react more and he wanted her to look at him more with those shining eyes. Sure he went after her at first because she was beautiful, but nothing could top her beauty than how she was now. This was an innocent beauty that was showing more of the inner looks than the outer. Sanj grabbed the cigarette out of his mouth and stamped it out in the ash tray he had nearby. He reached out his hand and grasped her free one, taking it away from covering the blush and giving her nothing to hide behind. She tried to keep her face turned away from him to hide the blush at least a little bit. But he wasn't going to let her hide from him; he wanted to see more of her embarrassed expressions.
"Oi, don't look away," He said, voice gruff and commanding. But she didn't turn her face to look at him. Sanji tugged at her hands while leaning forward, closing the space between them until her face was directly in front of his over the counter. She turned her face in surprised to look at him, but when she did she felt her face grow even warmer. Their noses were nearly touching one another and he was looking so intensely into her face that it was as if he could see into the very depths of her soul. She started turning her head away, ready to find something else to hide her embarrassment from. But Sanji didn't like that she was trying to hide again. He let go of her hands and quickly reached out his hands to cup her face on either side.
"I told you not to look away." He told her, not being able to control his teasing mood. He pulled her face through that short distance between them until their noses slipped passed one another and he tilted her head slightly to clamp his lips over hers.
At first Kalifa was taken off guard, but then she was swept away into the feeling of his lips against hers that were pressing hard and firm. Just as she thought she'd gotten used to what was happening, he tilted his head the other way and pushed his tongue past her lips. She gasped, only giving him more access to her mouth. His tongue pushed and prodded against her own, twisting around and tasting every part of her inside. She cracked her eyes open, staring into his that were still looking at her intently, watching every expression that passes across her face. But then her eyes for some reason glided behind him to where the faint smell of smoke came from. She gasped and made a small choking sound. Sanji took it as a grunt of pleasure and tilted his head the other way, delving deeper into her mouth. Her hands grasped at his shirt tightly, tugging to get his attention. She tried calling to him, but the sounds only made it out of her in grunts. Finally she gripped his shirt and jerked him away.
"Sanji! The food!" She breathed out heavily, finally gaining his attention and pointing towards the skillet behind him that was setting itself on fire from being left unattended.
Sanji looked behind him and instantly choked himself, rushing over to the skillet and taking it off of the fire and stirring it, making sure the damage to the food wasn't something that would ruin the flavor. He fixed it again and sighed, placing his hands on the counter in annoyance to the interruption. He heard the chair move behind him and quickly he turned to look at Kalifa. But she was no longer there sitting at the bar, and the door quickly shut, showing that she had quickly escaped back out to the others. Sanji groaned and rubbed the back of his head. He picked up the cigarette he had placed down before and lighted it once more. He took in a deep breath and let it out, letting his frustration fly outward with the smoke.
"Damn. I may have pushed it too far." He grumbled to himself, wishing that something hadn't interrupted them. He shocked himself with the upfront attitude, but there was something inside of him that said he wanted her to show him more emotions. When he kissed her that was exactly what he got. He could taste the fruity taste in her mouth with a slight peppermint after taste. Her hair was soft and brushed against his fingers like silk. But even as he kissed her, he couldn't look away. Her face showed embarrassment, lust, pleasure, and joy all at once as she fell into his kiss. Even when she pushed him away to tell him about the food, her face still held those traces, but then it was mixed with guilt and fear. But of what? Sanji didn't have to think too hard about that…..she worked with those people after all who were only after the money that would come with capturing robin. She was probably scared she was just being lured in. But…he wouldn't do that to her…..
Kalifa quickly rushed out of the kitchen, running along the upper deck until she found a small crevice that was in the shadows and pushed herself against the wall, her hand covering her mouth that was still hot and throbbing from the passionate kiss. She slid down the wall and curled her legs up towards her chest, her mind flashing to the kiss repeatedly. The taste of smoke was in his mouth, but it wasn't horrible because it had a tangy taste mixed in with it, probably from the many seasonings he had to use for cooking. She couldn't even smell the smoke on him; only the cologne he must wear with a nice fresh scent. His hands had cupped her so gently, but the kiss was hard and deep, nearly making all control and consciousness fly out from her. It was like all her senses were on high alert, and they were completely filled with him and that kiss. Why was it affecting her so much? It was a simple kiss like any other.
"You okay? Are you feeling sick?"
Kalifa shot her head up and spotted the small animal they called their doctor. She breathed in deeply and put on a smile, trying to calm herself down so the blush dispersed at least a little. "I'm fine. Just needed a little breather."
"You're not used to being on the water huh?" Chopper asked, putting a hand on her arm and looking up into her face.
"Yeah, I'm used to land." She said, going along with the excuse so she didn't have to let on what the real reason was to why she was curled up into herself in a shadowed place.
"We're going to eat soon!" He said happily. "I'm sure Sanji's food will make you feel better and you'll forget that the ship is moving at all!" He was just trying to make her feel better, but even that small gesture made water bubble up in her eyes. "Gah! I'm sorry! Please don't cry!"
She let out a soft chuckle and patted his head, not wanting to worry him with her sudden change in emotion. "It's nothing you said. I'm sorry." She said in a soft voice, changing the idea of how she was in Chopper's head to something else. "I'm just….I'm not used to people being so worried about me."
Chopper looked at her carefully, and then put on a small smile, showing that it wasn't anything to think about so tearfully. "That's what friends are for!"
"Friends?" She asked, shocked he used such a word with her in mind. "We're…..friends?"
"Well…." Chopper stopped and placed his paw to his mouth, thinking carefully on how he would describe their relationship. "Maybe not yet, but…! I definitely think we're heading towards that! I mean we welcomed you on the ship! It means we trust you at least somewhat." He gave a smile again before someone called his name off in the distance somewhere else on the ship, most likely Luffy who was running around the place. "Just wait for dinner! I'm sure you'll love Sanji's cooking!"
There was no exaggeration on his cooking. It was as good as everyone said it would be. It was like flavors erupted into her mouth she didn't expect to come out. She expected it to be awkward around the table with everyone, who she once fought against, now sitting around her and chatting away. There was nothing awkward about it. They even brought her into the conversation many times, trying to get her to speak up and become part of the topic. She couldn't stop herself from getting sucked in and talking with them as if she really were a part of their crew.
"So are you staying tonight?" Nami asked, glancing at Kalifa as the plates were gathered together and she slipped her hands beneath them.
"Eh? Stay?" She asked, never thinking about what she was going to do when night fell on them. "I….never thought about it…."
Robin dropped the cup she held and it rolled on the table. "Wow….you really have changed…." She let out a soft chuckle from her lips and picked up the cup once more. "Before you would have everything planned out precisely, minute by minute. You've…opened up…."
Kalifa gave a guilty sort of smile as she looked at Robin, hoping there wasn't too much ill will between them; though she wouldn't feel guilty if the woman did hold a grudge against her. She gathered up the plates and walked over to the sinks in the kitchen, taking the plates and cups from the other two and setting them down in the sinks too. "Don't worry, I'll clean up here."
The other two tried to complain against a guest doing the dishes and clean up, but Kalifa was having nothing of it and waved them off. She quickly did the dishes, finding it no different from when she was part of Lucci's group and was a secretary. She did odd jobs here and there trying to help with any of the work from the men that were surrounding her in the work place.
"You didn't have to do that."
Kalifa stopped cleaning the dishes and held her dripping hands in the air before reaching for the dry rag. She didn't want to turn around to look at him because she could already feel her cheeks turning warm. Then she heard a click behind them and felt a shiver crawl up her spine. That sound was something easy to identify; one of a lock.
"At least now, there's nothing to interrupt us." Sanji said, his hand sliding off the doorknob. The sound of his shoes clacking off the wood floors seemed to echo towards her, making her muscles more and more taut with each step. She was anticipating the presence of him behind her and the thought of him being so close.
"Stop!" She said, holding up her hands when she felt him standing behind her. She felt her heart pounding inside her chest and she felt like any slight touch from him was going to send it flying out of her throat and into the air. "You can't…"
"Why's that?" She saw his arm glide past her, making another shiver go down her spine, even though he wasn't even touching her. He put out his cigarette in the tray that was on the counter next to her. His voice had a teasing edge to it and she knew he was playing with her. His hand gripped the edge of the counter, and then his other hand did too on the other side of her. He wasn't touching her, but he was close enough it felt like he was. Her breath was hitching inside of her throat and she had to push to get her words out. "I don't want to be played with….."
There was silence between them as Sanji took in her words. Then he leaned in closer till his breath tickled her ear. "What if I told you I wasn't playing?"
This made her heart skip a beat. She wanted to tell herself not to get hope up, but at the same time her body and mind screamed at her that he was telling the truth. He gave her a coat when she was defeated because he was thinking what was best for her. There was no way a man like that would play her. Right? Before she could thoroughly think things through, she felt her body turning around in his arms till she was looking at him directly.
"Promise?" She asked, looking into Sanji's eyes that were intense like they were before, but soft and understanding.
He leaned forward till his lips were barely brushing against hers. "Promise." He whispered quietly. His lips pressed against hers, this time gentle and passionate. It was completely opposite of the harsh deep kiss she had experienced before, and yet this one sucked her in fast and deeper. Her arms wrapped around his neck, pressing herself into him so that the kiss was deeper. Slowly they tilted their heads back and forth, soft pattering of kissing lingering on their lips, before Kalifa initiated tongue. She needed more of that deeper kiss she experienced before. And Sanji wasn't going to deny her that.
Finally they pulled away from one another and Sanji pressed his head against hers. Her lower back was now pressing against the counter, with Sanji's hand being used as a buffer of sorts and holding her close to him. "So…" He broke the silence of their breathing. "How about staying a little longer? I'd like to get to know you more."
