Chapter 6
"Take care of my body when I'm gone."
"What do you mean by that?"
"WATCH OUT!"
I jerked, waking up suddenly as I opened my eyes to see the ceiling of my room.
"Another nightmare..." I muttered, sitting up as I wiped away my sweat. I turn, seeing the sun shining into my room as I sighed. I showered myself in cold water, thinking of Anna and my son. What's becoming of me now?
I took a deep breath, standing in the shower for too long as I stood there zoning out.
"Daddy!"
I jerked my head up, turning to look at the door as I saw my little boy's head popping out by it. "Daddy, Daddy!" He giggled, pointing at my naked body as I frowned. What's with this little pervert now...
"You should give your old man some privacy you punk!" I growled, immediately turning the water off and getting the towel quickly to wrap myself.
"Mummy! She needs help!" He innocently blurted out, pointing to the backyard. What...?
I quickly changed, running towards the backyard.
That was when I saw, how bad Anna had looked.
She stared back at me with that hard cold blank expression she always had whenever she was either pissed or just wanted to watch something. Her expression was nevertheless so serious as she kept standing there.
Her forehead leaked out blood, her face with some cuts and bruises and her knees scrapped... Was she like this when I saw her body?
No.. They cleaned her body well. I don't remember what and how she had looked like during the incident.
Maybe my brain decided not to remember.
"Yoh."
I jumped. I hadn't realized the atmosphere was so tensed till she called my name. "I can see you now..." I mumbled, making eye contact with her as I stood there still in shock. "Yoh. Please find my body quickly. The time is running out." Her expression serious.
"Anna, where are you?"
She smiled meekly.
"You will know where to find me."
She disappeared, leaving me blanking out as I clenched my fists. I looked up to the moon, in hopes of an answer.
What should I do now? Where do I start?
As I explained the situation to the gang, their expressions changed, not looking at me.
"We totally forgot." Horo Horo blurted, his hand touching his forehead as he played with his headband. "Forgot?"
"Come on! Anna's a highly sought after priestess! Once she dies, it means the loss of powers is quite serious!" Tao Ren answered brashly. "We definitely have to hurry. Do you remember which morgue her body was in?"
We immediately ran out of my house after much discussion, taking Tao Ren's car to reach the morgue.
We quickly got to the morgue and found the lock to be broken apart. "Shit." Ren muttered aloud, running towards the morgue as we followed behind.
"Lyserg! Could you get the co-ordinance of whoever was here?" Ren turned to look at him, his expression turning hard and stern.
"Can you tell me what's happening?" I answered meekly, still in shock and confusion. Everyone looked at each other and then at me, with their expression changed and sad. "Her body isn't here."
They had broken open the stone where we had previously left her body in.
It was empty and there was no remnant of the body's remains or whatsoever. I had chosen not to cremate her body previously was only the reminder of what Anna had mentioned. That morgue was also meant for the Asakura family.
Which mean whoever wanted Anna's body, could be someone who was part of the Asakura family. "No one knows where the Asakura's morgue is. Other than the Asakura family themselves." I muttered to myself as car continued to move to the co-ordinance where Lyserg's pendulum had pointed.
"We will find her." Ryo smiled weakly, putting his hand on my shoulder as Manta nodded, seated in front of me.
We reached an abandoned house, seeing a black car parked in front of the place. It was really odd and we decided to go in without much investigation.
The place was barely lit up despite having so many candles around the place.
"Lyserg." He nodded and let his pendulum fly quietly as his spirit checked out the house. The place was eerily quiet but it seemed overly suspicious.
We remained calm and wary as we observed our surroundings. "Guys." Lyserg whispered, holding his hand. It was bleeding, the pendulum string had snapped and the cut was deep in his palm. I quickly tore my shirt, wrapping his hand to stop the blood.
"Morphine isn't back yet." Lyserg looked at me worriedly as he held his hand. "Don't worry. We will get her back too." I assured him, smiling.
"I'll beat the crap out of this bastard." Ren punched his own palm, his expression determined as Baston imitated him.
We will.
