So I'm writing again because I have time and I am inspired! :) New chapters have been coming out and Kurapika has finally (FINALLY) appeared again and it looks like he'll be a good part of the arc! Ahaha oh and it looks like a MAFIA KURAPIKA! :O OMG OMG OMG OMG I was like seriously fangirling! Still am! Ahhhh! The fire of passion has begun to burn!

Let's get on with this!

"This way please." Said Sebastien the mouthless butler. He began walking into a tunnel. "Well, we'll begin with a short verification. It's an extremely difficult exam. sometimes you can miss a chance and can end up hurting yourself, or can simply die. There are moments where you get hurt in an accident with companions. There are things that can't be avoided. Now then, please follow me." He began promptly walking. "Count is ok. 405 participants for the first exam." 405? I thought there were 406? Oh wait.. Hisoka killed a guy already...

Everyone all around us started to rush by us. "This is weird.." I said outloud.

"What's going on? They're all in hurry to get out of here?" Leorio questioned, looking around.

"I was sure! The rhythm is getting faster progressively! Kurapika called out.

"The ones in the front have all started running!" Gon cried out. Sure enough there were people running.

"Well let's start running too!" I said.

"We don't know what's going on just yet." Kurapika reasoned.

"uuuuugh. You're a smart aleck you know that?" I pointed at Kurapika.

"Be reasonable Mitsuki. We're here to pass the hunter exam."

"I'm just here because I was bored... I wanted an adventure since I managed to find you so quickly!" I pointed out. Kurapika was about to say something else when the butler started to speak again.

"I forgot one detail. I'm Satotsu and I'm in charge of the first round. So I must lead you to the place of the second round." That got all of our attention. Someone in the front was bewildered and asked if the first round has already begun. Satotsu told him yes and if we make it to the place of the second round we will have passed the first round. That's pretty interesting. We don't know how far or how long we'll run. So it was pretty much a mental test. What great fun!

"This test is weird." Gon said.

"An endurance test? I'm enjoying it! Where he goes, I go!" Leorio said smiling! I glanced at Kurapika, he looked deep in thought and just a bit worried. I assumed he knew what this test was about too. Then this kid with white hair, skated passed us. He has a #99 tag. About Gon's age it looked. Nearly his height as well. Has the same scent as me.. That's no good. My thoughts were then interrupted by Leorio yelling at the kid. "Hey! Kid! That's not allowed! That's cheating!" He yelled pointing at him.
"Why?" the white haired kid asked.

"'why?' cause it's an endurance test!" Leorio told him.

"But you're wrong! He just asked us to follow him, didn't he?"

"I believe Gon's right." I said siding myself with Gon.

"Gon! Mitsuki! Which side are you on?!"

"The side of justice!" I grinned.

"You should conserve your energy. You're just noisy right now. So the principle is that there are no principles." Kurapika intervened.

"Well why do you have to always sound like your right?" I asked him.

"Just shush and keep on running" Kurapika said motioning me shut my trap... Again. I noticed the white haired kid look at Gon "Tell me.. How old are you?" He asked him.

"I'm 12!" That got his attention. "Just like me" he murmured. "I'm gonna run." He declared. He jumped off his skateboarded with amazing gracefulness.

"Cool!" Gon said his eyes filled with excitement.

"I'm Killua"

"And I'm Gon!"

"And you mister?" Kiilua asked smiling.

"Mister!? Hey! I'm not that old! I'm from the same generation as you!" Leorio yelled at Killua.

"ARE YOU SURE!?" Gon cried out.

"SERIOUSLY!?" I yelled.

"Argh! Gon! Mitsuki! It's finished! I'm never talking to you guys again!" He yelled pointing at us two. I saw Kurapika get further ahead with all this commotion. "Good! I don't want to talk to a pervert like you either! Naaah!" I stuck out my tongue and pulled down the cheek on my right side. I ran to catch up with Kurapika. He wasn't that far up ahead just yet. "I'm not a pervert!" I heard leorio call out to me. "STUPID PEEERRRRV!" I yelled back. I heard Kurapika chuckle beside me. "What?" I asked. "Oh it's nothing. You're still the same." He told me warmly. He was smiling. I smiled back at him. He is, after all, my very best friend.

3 Hours later

Gosh it's been three hours and we're still running. I'm not tired at all. Just pretty bored... Ahhhhh! I glanced at Kurapika, he didn't look tired either. Wow he has good stamina too. I saw him glance back. Hmmm wonder how many have quit. After all this isn't a test for any normal person. This is the elite after all.

"Kurapika!" I whined.

"Yes Mitsuki?"

"How much longer do we have til it's over?" I kept whining.

"I don't know. It's been over 3 hours."

"I'm bored!" I complained. He looked at me surprised.

"Only you can be bored with this." He said smiling while shaking his head.

"Well this isn't really fun y'know." I pouted.

Kurapika was about to say something when Leorio zoomed passed us. "Leorio!?" We both question at the same time. We had left the others in the back, so this was pretty shocking. He looked pretty tired and happened to be sweating a lot.

"How did he catch up?" I whispered to Kurapika.

"I really don't know." He whispered back. We just kept looking at him weirdly. We kept on running. We soon approached a very long stairway. So long I couldn't see the end of it.

"Well... this is so unexpected." I sarcastically said.

"Let's pick up the pace." I heard Satotsu say. damn. I saw him take the stairs two at a time. Holy cow is he human? No, wait, he just has long legs. I mentally slapped myself in the head. During the mist of my thoughts Leorio had taken off his upper cloths.

"are you okay?" I heard Kurapika asking him.

"As you can see, I'm really fine! I'm not the best, but it doesn't matter! I know I'll make it! Even if I have to run naked! Kurapika I advise you to ignore me, if you don't want to be ashamed!" He called out running like a manic. Hey! I just noticed he completely ignored me.

"What about me!?" I asked him.

"I told you I'm never talking to you or Gon again!" He shouted back at me.

"Hmmm" Kurapika said. I turned to look at him. He had a look on his face. Suddenly he took off his tabard and put it in his brown bag. We kept up with Leorio.

"Can I ask you something?" Kurapika said to Leorio.

"To discuss is to consume energy." He panted out.

"Is it really because of the money that you want to become a hunter? I'm sure that it's not. We only met each other a few days ago, but I've understood this at least. You certainly don't have a rigorous attitude and you're not especially clever, but I don't think that you have a bad soul. I've seen a lot of people who only lived for money, and you're not that kind of person." He said.

"Pff! You, you're the king of 'Logical'" Leorio mocked Kurapika.

"Yeah. Sometimes I think he talks just to show off how smart he sounds." I said. I took a glance at Kurapika and noticed he had an earring on. Widening my eyes I knew what earring it was! It was the other half to my earring on my right. I was pretty joyful at that. I mentally slapped myself again.. I have such a short attention span.

"Scarlet eyes..." Kurapika spoke.

"Huh?" Leorio questioned. Crap I know what he's about to talk about...

"It's the reason why the Kurata clan has been pursued" I knew he was going to explain to Leorio about the history of our eyes. Glancing up ahead several people had already quit running the stairs. Well that was fast.

"Scarlet eyes are the distinctive sign of the Kurata. When we are traversed by a violent feeling, our eyes become scarlet, as if they were on fire. If we die at this state, our eyes never return to their normal state, and stay with this color. Some say that this color, with its brightness is one of the seven most beautiful in the world."

"Yes! So my eyes are very beautiful." I said batting my eyelashes at Leorio.

"You're eyes turn red?" He questioned me.

"Without my contacts they do."

"ohh. Is it because of that your clan was destroyed by the Phantom Troupe?

"Yes." I quietly told him.

"The only things that were missing from my brother's bodies when I found them, were their eyes. Today, the only thing that we can see in the darkness of their eyes is called revenge. Whatever happens I'll capture the Phantom Troupe! And I'll give my brothers and companions their eyes back." Kurapika explained to Leorio. I sighed quietly. This isn't going to be good. Not for either of us.

"Unfortunately, they're surely sold on the black market. The clients are all potent men, multimillionaires. It's impossible for a normal person to approach this environment." Leorio told him. To me that was very obvious. Being a hunter would actually help speed up the process.

"But that isn't the case for a hunter. If I choose to be a hunter under contract I'll become extremely rich, and I'll have access to many things." Kurapika replied.

"Contract..? I thought that was exactly the type of hunter you hate the most? You're ready to sell your soul and lose your dignity?" Questioned Leorio.

"What is my dignity... in comparison with the pain of my companions?" Kurapika said. I sighed again. This is what I wanted to avoid. The guilt. The pain.. Everything surrounding with my clan. I tossed away my hatred but Kurapika has yet to even diminish his.

"I'm sorry. I don't have a reason as noble as yours to tell you. I can only say that my goal is really money.." Leorio confessed.

"You're saying nonsense! Don't tell me you really think we can buy everything on this world?!" Kurapika said outraged.

"Yes! Things for sure, but also dreams! Even lives depend on money! Everything can be bought!" countered Leorio.

Kurapika was beginning to get angry. "Stop this Leorio! Take back what you said!" He yelled.

"Why? It's the truth! If I had the money, my friend wouldn't have died!" That shut up Kurapika for a moment.. Woah.. That's sad.. and pretty deep actually. Money... Money makes the world go round.. It's an evilness.

"Because of an illness?" Kurapika questioned.

"It wasn't an incurable illness! But to operate on him, we needed too much money! I'm a little naive, so I thought I would become a doctor. So, this way I could have told the parents of all those children in the same situation as my friend was, 'I don't charge you any money.' That was my dream." He told us. Wow... He's actually a really nice person.. "But I was too naive! Because there was something I didn't know. The doctor's studies are really expensive! You? Money! Money! Money! I want money!" I had to smirk at that. He is a decent human being. I looked ahead.

"You guys I think I see a light! Am I dead?" I asked as an afterthought.

"It appears we've finally reached the exit." Kurapika mused.

"Everyone always says don't go to the light!" I screamed. They just sweat dropped at my idiocy.

"We're almost done. We need to reach this light." Kurapika told me. We kept running. It was so close. We were almost done! We finally reached the end and came out to the wilderness. For miles around I could see a marsh. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

"We did it! We made it!" Leorio panted out. Only to be told that it wasn't over just yet. Why oh why does this keep happening to us?

"This is 'Numelle's Marsh' nicknamed the The Crook' Nest." This is the place where the second round will stand, you'll have to go through here. The rare animals you'll find in the marsh eat humans for lunch. They're birds of prey as well as gamers. Follow me and pay close attention! Losing the way results in death. " Satotsu said.

This part was definitely going to be deadly. I could feel it in my gut. Holy crap Hisoka is the mad clown who likes challenges my head started to say to me! I knew it was going to come to me sooner or later. I hoped Kurapika, Leorio, Gon, and even Killua didn't run into him. They might not have a chance. Add on the deadly forest it was sure going to be a handful trying to make sure everyone is okay.

Satotz - Satotsu They are the same just different spelling.. :P
