Jules sat down next to his son after he was done talking. He made sure that every Knight had haerd that no killing would be allowed, and any Knight that had killed was to be removed of the match as quickly as possible and sent back their kingdom. And he was rewarded with breif stares of relief.

What did they think, I was going to let them die? Jules thought as he stared at his son, yelling out the words, "Begin!" as he did so.

Sonic stared out in shock and kept staring at this one Knight in paticular. The king nudged Sonic's arm with staff and looked closely at the blue hedgehog. After that they other snapped out of whatever trance he was in, but still stared at his father with wide eyes.

"Whats wrong?" Jules asked.

"Nothing..." Sonic whispered silently and JUles had to strain to listen," Just...who is that black hedgehog, the one with Gawain and Percival?"

"You mean Sir Lancelot?" Jules answered pointing to the Knight with the end of his staff and then stared at Sonic," Wait, you met some Knights? When did this happen?"

Sonic's turned into a sheepish grin as he rubbed his back quills, staring out into the big arena taking in the fighting knights and realized how some moved with such speed and agility. He thought of what to say to his father for just a moment before opening his mouth to talk then closing. The prince wasn't really allowed to go to the arena while the Knights had trained, especially since his parents had no idea where he was.

"Gawain..won't get in trouble right?" Sonic said softly, keeping his gaze away from his father, awaiting the answer.

"Why? Did he do something wrong? Jules suddenly sounded shocked, but of course he did, Gawain was the only one his father had trusted with his son.

Sonic shook his head and slowly turned to face is father, "No, i just asked if I could see Lancelot and maybe the others..."

Jules relaxed mumbling something that sounded like " So that's where you went."

His father had turned back to the fight as did Sonic.

The silenced strecthed as both father and son took in the strength in every single Knight, Sonic taking more notice of Lancelot, with his blood red eyes peering out of his iron helment. The sight of sent shivers down the hedgehog's spine.

And the way he just moved...

He shook his head now looking over to Percival and Gawain, glad that all three of them had gotten along pretty good fast, at least that what Sonic hoped for. Jules had taken notice of this and smile.

"You seem to have already picked out the three that you liked," Jules whispered.

Sonic nodded," I say Gawain and Percival for sure and i want to say Lancelot since she and him are good friends, from what she tells me."

Sonic shrugged.

Jules raised a brow," Not to be of annoyance, but it seems you like Percival."

Sonic's eyes widened.

"What, NO!" Sonic hissed," I only think of her as a friend."

Jules nodded, "Alright if that is what you say."

Sonic closed his eyes, silently waiting until the end of the battle.

...

The battle ended when the sun had went down, disappearing into the moutains and leaving back a red hue in the sky. Sonic and Jules sat back at home with the Knights still back at the arena waiting for who would be chosen. Here we are with Gawain and Percival, staring worriedly at Lancelot, who refused to rest and continued to walk around. The three had taken their armor off leaving clothes that they would wear when not training or just practicing. The dark Knight couldn't explain it, but he swore he had seen that blue hedgehog from somewhere from his childhood, long ago. But maybe he was just thinking about something that wasn't really real. A simple mistake...

"Lancelot..." Percival whispered, standing up and walking up to the other, putting a hand on his shoulders.

All the other did was hault in his walking, tensing up under the felines touch. Lancelot stared down at the ground ignoring the cat.

"It's nothing..." Lancelot finally said, his deep voice warning the other to step away with the glare, ruby eyes burning like ambers.

Maybe he shouldn't really think about, he probably won't even meet the prince and the King, even though he wished he would be able to leave his kingdom and one look at Percival told him the same. Of course when they had heard about it, they jumped up to the contest, badly wanting to leave the abuse.

And they have not even reached the terrible part, what were they going to say if they were not chosen. They had to conjure up something to say to they king once they got back. Even though Gawain had said not to worry about it, him being an actual friend to the heir.

"Lancelot," Gawain stood up and ended up next to Percival, looking at Lancelot's back," You don't need to worry."

There he goes again, the Knight had thought, closing his eyes and frowning, The prince and the king will choose you, no doubt, but there was about a mllion Knights fighting not just us.

He wished to say those words out loud, but didn't, in respect.

Percival sighed not knowing what they were going to do.

...

Sonic happily walked beside his father, grinning. His father let him chose as well, since the Knights would be with him almost all the time.

Gawian, of course, Percival, and Lancelot, since Percival and Lancelot are friends...I think. Sonic thought and hummed opening the doors into the arena. It was weird seeing all those Knights in front of him, holding there breath, awaiting the answer.

"Alright, I am going to say that my son, Sonic here," Jules gestured toward the now nervous hedgehog," will chose the winners."

Sonic stood up staright and raised his chin a little. All eyes centered on him, and from the corner of the room, he could see Gawain with the two others out of their armor and just staring at him.

"Gawain, Percival, and Lancelot," Sonic said loudly," Sorry for those who were not chosen."

Okay. the face Lancelot is amking is priceless, Sonic grinned at the chosen ones.
