"Second match! Hikaru vs Mitsuki." the man in the black suit called out. I got up, jumping out of my seating position. Hikaru walked to the middle.

"Just because we're friends doesn't mean I'll be easy on you." Hikaru said flipping her hair behind her.

"We're friends?" I said flabbergasted.

"Well duh. There's something about going through life and death situations that sticks people together." She said teasing. I gaped at her. I didn't expect this. Then again she was a bit nicer now.

"Same. I won't go easy on you either."

The guy said to begin and he got out of the way. Hikaru immediately launched a kick at my head. Seeing it coming, I duck and flipped her over. She landed on her feet.

"Was that it?" I taunted.

"No! I'm just getting started!" She aimed a punch at my gut and I side stepped dodging her., and pushing her forward. Hikaru lost her balanced and fell. "Why are you dodging so much?"

"It's only been two hits and you haven't landed any." I said waiting on her to come again.

"You're just playing around. Hurry up and get serious already." She said huffing after getting up, she took out some knives and threw them at me. I jumped into the air and spun landing right behind her. She tried to jab me in the face and I ducked, bending backwards.

"Woah. Trying to kill me?" I said.

"Oh please. Like you would die by that hit."

"True but it would hurt." I said. Hikaru spund down low trying to trip me. I jumped up and landed on her shoulders.

"You need to go on a diet. You're heavy!" She said grabbing my foot and throwing me to the ground.

"Ow.. That hurt!" I said rolling on the ground.

"Woman up." She said running after me.

"No! You're like a gorilla! Stupid Hikaru!" I said dodging her punches as she tried to land one.

"Why aren't you fighting back?" Hikaru asked as she kept aiming punches at me.

"Well maybe cause you won't let me?" I said grabbing her fist. She saw it was stuck and then swung, gaining momentum for her kick. Blocking her kick with my other hand, I decided to release my aura soon. If I did it right now she would probably not be well. So I jumped back.

Okay I thought to myself. I released my nen and emitted a killing intent. Only for a second. Hikaru jumped back and fell. I looked and saw Killua had done the same thing. Kurapika and Leorio looked shocked and were sweating. So did the puny one and the old one. Only Hisoka and the tall pinned up guy seemed unfazed. If anything Hisoka showed his giddiness by smiling. His eyes had a look of hunger in them.

"Do you admit defeat?" I asked Hikaru, since she had yet to get up.

"Y-yes. I give up.." She said. Her head was lowered.

"Mitsuki has passed. You're a hunter now. Congrats on passing." The Chairman said to me. I nodded and walked back to Kurapika and Leorio.

"What the hell Mitsuki?" Leorio shouted at me. "You won so easily, now I have to fight Hikaru!"

"That.. was something." Kurapika said still shocked.

"Well if I lost on purpose Hikaru would have hated me even more."

"That's true. Well at least I know I need to train more to even catch up to you." Hikaru said finally getting up. So I have to go up against you next?" She said looking at Leorio.

"yeah?"

"I'll have no problem winning then." She said turning away from him to look at me.

"How did you do that?" Hikaru said effectively ignoring Leorio in the background yelling at her. Kurapika was holding him back.

"Training. One day you'll learn." I said nonchalantly.

"Third match! Kurapika vs Hisoka."

"Tell me now. How and where do you hide your ridiculous strength?"

"You knew in that moment that you couldn't beat me right?"

"Well yeah. My spirit was crushed." Hikaru said not getting it.

"You'll eventually learn." I said thinking about it. Professional hunters knew about nen. This was the second hidden test I had heard about. I could tell that only Hosoka and creepy pin guy knew of it. It was just a feeling, woman's intuition, and I was hardly ever wrong. Kurapika walked into the floor with Hisoka trailing behind them. Soon Kurapika and Hisoka went at it. Kurapika held his own, but it was easy to see that Hisoka was leading the fight.

There were times when Kurapiak hit Hisoka, but it looked as if the strikes didn't faze him. I knew this was a needless battle. Their difference in strength was cringeworthy. Kurapika kept pushing on. He tried and kept fighting. I could see Hisoka was just playing with him. Their battle went on for what seemed forever.

Suddenly Hisoka whispered something into Kurapika's ear. His blue eyes, turned red. Then the battle was over.

"I quit." Hisoka called out surprising everyone. Kurapika walked towards us again, but his head down. He didn't even speak a word out to anyone. He looked to be deep in thought. I briefly wondered what was going on in his head. I would ask him later.

"Fourth match! Hanzo vs Pokkle!"

It was almost instantaneous. Hanzo was considerably better than Pokkle. Pokkle was by far skilled in archery, but it was his demise. Hanzo was obviously better at close combat than Pokkle. Hanzo was already on top of Pokkle, his arm behind his back. Hanzo only said one sentence and it decided the whole match. Pokkle admitted defeat soon after.

"Fifth match! Hisoka vs Bodoro!"

Both fighters got into the ring. The moment they began, it was like the fight between Hisoka and Kurapika, but this time Hisoka fought back. Bodoro would not admit defeat no matter how many times he kept getting beaten. The fight between them was an one way fight. Hisoka sustained no damage from Bodoro. While on the ground, Hisoka bent down and whispered something into his ear. A few moments later, he admitted defeat. I wondered what happened between them. It seemed as if Hisoka had no interest in this man.

"Sixth match! Hikaru vs Leorio!"

"Good! It's about time for me to win. I was getting bored waiting." Hikaru said getting up.

"Oh great, now I have to fight a girl." Leorio groaned.

"Yeah and she's gonna kick your butt." I said sitting. While they both entered, I looked at Kurapika. He wasn't paying much attention to anything. His eyes were glazed with burning desire. "Are you alright?" I asked getting his attention.

"Hm?" He said getting out of his daze.

"I asked if you were alright." I repeated.

"Yeah. Just a bit shocked." Kurapika admitted.

"What did Hisoka say?" I said right to the point.

"I'll tell you later." He said firmly. I looked him in the eye. It was stern. Holding each other's gazes, I knew he would tell me when we weren't surrounded. I faintly nodded and turn my attention to the fight. Already Hikaru and Leorio had swung fists with each other. Hikaru looked to have the upper hand. She was more flexible than Leorio, even looked stronger. I gaged their strength in my mind, Leorio would look to have the upper hand, yet Hikaru dominated.

Hikaru gave it her all, she wanted to win. Leorio was holding his own, but it was obvious. Leorio didn't want to lose to a girl. Hikaru just didn't want to lose again. They both knew that it was mainly the monsters left.

"What will make you admit defeat?" Hikaru said breathing hard. She had landed a bunch of hits on Leorio. None of them to no avail. He had to say he lost, how would she make this stubborn guy quit?

"Didn't you say you were going to win?" Leorio taunted breathing just as hard. He received another kick from Hikaru in the face.

"I would seriously murder if I could." Hikaru said turning back to Leorio.

"YOU KICKED ME IN THE FACE!" Leorio said charging at her, he threw a punch and Hikaru dodged it, grabbed his arm and threw him to the wall. Leorio hit the wall, he got up and spit some blood out. "Mitsuki was right, you're strong like a gorilla! How are you even a girl?"

Hikaru's face went red. She had a tick mark and you could see death coming out of her. She lunged at Leorio, tackling him to the ground. She had him pinned to the ground, a knife against his neck.

"Say that you give up."

"I won't." she pressed the knife a bit deeper and a small drop of blood came out.

"You're going to kill me and get disqualified!" Leorio said yelling, making the cut deeper.

"There's always next year." She said.

"You're crazy."

"I'll be alive, so what's it going to be?" Hikaru said not giving in.

"I.. I admit defeat." Leorio said. I think Leoro knew he couldn't achieve his dreams if he was dead. Hikaru got off him and pressed a soft cloth on his neck wound.

"Whew for a moment there I thought you were going to call my bluff. I've never killed a person and I was frightened." Hikaru said swiping the sweat off her forehead.

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO KILL ME!" Leorio shouted. He held the cloth to his neck.

"I'll bandage it up." I said looking into my bag for my medicial pouch. I found what I was looking for and beckoned Leorio to me. I rubbed some of my healing salve on him, covered it with spider webs, and wrapped a bandage around his neck wound.

"Why and where did you get the spider webs from?" Hikaru asked looking shocked.

"Spider web helps clot the blood, making it stop bleeding faster, and I know a guy." I said finishing up Leorio.

"I don't hurt." He said moving his neck side to side.

"Well it shouldn't. I used my healing salve on it. It's gonna be like brand new, no scar." I said defending my remedy.

"That's amazing." Kurapika complimented.

"At least someone else gets it." I mumbled.

"Seventh match! Killua vs Pokkle"

Both of them walked up an Killua forfeited.

"Sorry but it isn't any fun for me to fight against you." Killua said confident in his abilities.

"Psh! What is he thinking? He could have won!" Hikaru said getting upset with Killua.

"I wouldn't have any fun if I became a hunter like that." Killua said walking up to us. Hikaru punched him on the head!

"You could have been a hunter!" Hikaru shouted at him.

"Such monstrous strength! Maybe you were raised by gorillas!" Killua said dodging another one of her hits.

"You're such a brat!" Hikaru said trying to stay calm.

"Eighth match! Leorio vs Bodoro."

"Can we postpone our match, Bodoro isn't in any condition to fight just yet." Leorio asked.

"I can fight." Bodoro said.

"Look at you. If I fought you now, I would just win." Leorio pointed out.

"Fine." So the match was postponed.

"Ninth match! Gittarackur vs Killua"

Killua walked up confidently to the match.

"It's ben a long time, Killua." The pinned up guy said. He pulled on of his pins out of his face. His face started to shift and in place was a long haired guy. His eyes were expressionless. His hair was sleek and shiny. Killua's eyes widen in recognition of the person.

"Illumi! My brother!" he said shocked. Already he was sweating bullets. I could tell that this guy was dangerous. Hisoka level dangerous.

"That's Killua''s brother?" Hikaru said shocked. Kurapika couldn't help but he shocked with us as well. None of us had thought that his family would be here during the exams. Hisoka's face was also expressionless.

"Mother and Milluki told me you hit them?" He asked Killua.

"You could say it like that.." Killua trailed off.

"Mom was crying.."

"Obviously! A mother that suffers like that from her own son!" Leorio said.

"Killua hit his mother? Where are his manners!" Hikaru added.

"She was confused. 'Succeeding in educating that way gives me such pleasure.'" he continued. They both fell, a face palm to the floor fall. "'But I'm worried to e him leave right now.' After thinking a lot she called me. It's an unexpected meeting. She feared you'd like to be a hunter. To tell you the truth, I also wanted an accreditation for my next work." Illumi said finishing. I didn't know what to make of this.

"I don't really want to be a hunter. I just wanted to try the exam." Killua said barely holding his own.

"That's reassuring. So I can talk to you openly. You won't become a hunter. Your vocation is to be a killer." He said deciding Killua's fate. "You're just a dark puppet, passionless. Inside you, you have no passion nor desire. You feed yourself with shadow, and the only pleasure you can feel comes from the death of people. You're just as we taught you, father and I. What were you expecting in becoming a hunter?" He said. I could feel my blood boiling. I was glad he ran away. I wanted him to stay away from his family. They were all creeps! It reminded me too much of the people who took care of me. I hated this feeling. I could see Killua sweating more and more.

"It's not that I wanted to become a hunter that lead me here.. But there's something I'd like to have." Killua said quietly.

"No, there isn't anything." Illumi said with swiftness.

"Yes, there's something!"

"Pff! So tell it to me. What would you want?" He demanded. Killua only looked down. "Well? There's nothing, is there?"

"There is!" Killua said trembling. "I want.. I want to become friends with Gon.. I want to have more fun times with Mitsuki and Hikaru. I'm fed up with killing. I just want.. to become friends with Gon.. I want to have fun, like a normal kid." He said. Sweat was going down his face. I was stunned. He thought that highly of us..? I looked to Hikaru and she looked back at me. The shock was on both of our faces. I would do what I could to make sure he didn't go back.

"That's impossible. You can't make people be your friends. The only judgment you're able to pass on a human I to know if you can kill him or not. Because that is what we taught you. You're amazed by Gon. Fascinated by Mitsuki and Hikaru. You're always together aren't you? This has nothing to do with being friends."

"That's false."

"If you stay close to them, one day, you'll want to kill them. Because you'll ask yourself if you're able to kill them or not. Because you're a natural born killer." He said it with such finality.

Leorio walked up to them and was stopped.

"Pardon me once more, but.."

"I know, I know, I won't get involved. Killua! Even if its your friend or anyone else, I don't know, but I'm gonna tell you! He's just an idiot, a dumbass that understands nothing at all! Go on burst him like you usually do, and pass the exam! You want to become friends with Gon? So don't fall asleep! You get along well, and you are friends aren't you? I'm sure Gon feels the same way!" He yelled at Killua.

"Yeah! I'm your friend for sure!" I shouted with Leorio. "Don't let him take you away from me!"

"I want to keep having fun times together with you!" Hikaru added. "Don't let this jerk make you think any different!"

"Yeah! We accept you for who you are and so does Gon!" I added on.

"Eh?" Illumi said looking shocked. "Really?"

"That's obvious! Iiiiiidiot!" We all shouted at him.

"That bothers me.. If the others already thinks they're his friends." Illumi said thinking. "I know! I'll just have to kill everyone who thinks they're your friends." All of us were shocked. Hisoka did not look happy. Killua looked as though he had been slapped in the face. "Killers don't need friends. Because they're always in the way." Illumi took out his needles. His figure looked so ominous. "Where do I start?" He said looking between Me and Hikaru. Kurapika stepped in front as to shield me. "Where is he?" Illumi said turning.

"Please the trial isn't-" He flicked the needles into the guy's head, his face became distorted.

"So?" Illumi wasn't even fazed.

"Resting room.. two.. next..."

"Thanks." He walked to the door, the guy just fell down in pain. Leorio, Kurapika, Hanzo, and few body guards, even Hikaru and I stood in front of the door. My heart wouldn't stop hammering. Kurapika still kept me covered. If anything I would have to make sure he was safe. I would do what I could to make sure he didn't get to Gon. I cursed the fates for getting us into this mess. Yet I was glad to have met Killua. I knew, as I was now, I had no chance against this monster.

"Damn it. If only I didn't need this certificate for my next work. If I kill them here, I'll be disqualified and Killua will automatically pass. I was going to make a mistake. Because if I kill Gon, the result will be the same. I know! I'll start with passing the exam.. and then I'll kill Gon, Mitsuki, and Hikaru." I felt a chill go down my spine. "Doing it this way, even if I kill everyone here, my title can't be taken back, can it?"

"No. No special rule allows that," the chairman said.

"Did you hear, Killua? If you don't win against me, you won't be able to save anyone. Will you be able to fight for friendship? No, you can't" he said looking at Killua. His eyes piercing into him. "The reason is simple: More than friendship.. what matters is if here and now, you can defeat me or not." He said letting out his aura. I could see how ghastly it was. Killua was frozen. More sweat came down. "You already have the answer. 'With my strength, I can't beat my brother.' If you feel you can't beat him, don't confront him. I was the one who gave you that advice. Do you remember?" Illumi asked Killua his hand going closer to Killua. Killua's eyes widen, his entire being trembled in fear. Nen. It was obvious Killua didn't know. The people who did not know what nen was, could only feel the ominous air around them. hisoka just stared. I was frustrated. I wanted to become stronger. I wasn't a professional. I need to train more. "Don't move. If you move even a tiny bit, I'll consider it to be the start of the fight. From the moment our bodies touch each other, the fight will begin. There's only one way to stop us. You understand? But don't forget, if you don't confront me, your precious friends will die." Killua was frozen. He couldn't move. I could see the turmoil inside. He was frighten beyond anything.

"Go on Killua! Whatever happens, we won't let anyone get killed! Not Gon, Not Hikaru! Not you! Whatever he does, we'll stop him! Do what you want to do!" Leorio shouted again. Illumi just kept getting closer. More sweat. More trembling. His voice barely came out.

"Damn.. I lost." Killua said not looking up. I knew this would happen. The others were too shocked. Illumi didn't change.

"Ah! I feel better. I'm done with the fights. Ha! ha! HA! ha! Ha! I lied to you, Killua. I have no intention of killing them. I only wanted to test you. Now I have what I wanted." He said patting Killua on the shoulder. "You don't have the qualifications to make any friends. More so, you don't need any. You'll continue listening to what your father and I tell you. You only have to do your work correctly and everything will be okay. If someday it becomes necessary for you to pass this exam, I'll guide you. But now that's not the case." Then Illumi walked away.

Killua clammed up. He wouldn't talk to any of us. We tried. Hikaru and Leorio shouted and yelled but nothing go to him. I didn't even have any more sweets to give to him. Kurapika tried his hardest to get Killua to talk, he just wouldn't do it. I wondered if he was broken. I didn't know what to do. So I just sat beside him. Neither of us talking nor moving. "Sorry." Is all I could think to say. Even so I got nothing in reply.

Then it was the eighth match again. Leorio and Bodoro went up against each other. Just as the fight had begun, Killua entered and killed Bodoro. Immediately he was disqualified. I was in shock. If I had moved faster then, maybe I could have stopped this. I just figured since he wasn't answering any of us he wasn't interested in the world. Killua left without a single word to us. Even after Hikaru and Leorio shouted at him to talk.

"Alright everyone. The exam is over. Killua disqualified. Bodoro dead. The rest of you have passed. Tomorrow we will speak again. Everyone get a room and rest up." The chairman said and he left us.

"I'm rooming by myself." Hikaru said leaving us. She still had a shocked look to her. I even saw the sadnss in her eyes.

"Yeah. There's nothing we can do. We just need to rest and we will talk about this later." Kurapika said speaking to Leorio and I, him being our voice of reason.

"Are we going to room together?" I asked Kurapika.

"That's indecent!" Leorio and Hikaru said shouting at me.

"But it's been a long time since I got to even see my old best friend. We just met after being parted for years." I pouted. "I want to room with Kurapika!" I pouted.

"I don't mind. Let's go get a room."

"Yay! Later losers." I said leaving them and clinging onto Kurpika's arm. Truthfully I just didn't want to be alone. I wanted to stay near Kurapika. I wanted to be where I could see him.

"It's okay. We will find a way to talk to Killua." Kurapika said looking straight ahead.

We got a two bed bedroom. I wanted to take a shower first, so I did. I stayed in the shower til it ran cold. Dirt came off and I was squeaky clean. I saw that my clothes were filthy. I dug around in my bag and found a fresh pair of underwear and wore the same bra. I threw away my clothes. I had some clothes packed into my bag. I looked and saw my Kurta wear. It was orange and gold. I could wear tights underneath it. I actually had some clothes to go under it. I was going to go to sleep and it would be a pain.. maybe. But Kurapika was here. It was a celebration. I should wear it. My Kurta tribal wear, went around my shoulders. The gold outlined the edges and swirled in. The second piece was like a skirt. It went around me. and stopped near my thigh. That's why we had underclothes underneath it.. or used to. The design was simple. More swirls and a parallel line, making it symmetrical. I also took out my contacts, leaving my eyes bare for the world to see. Might as well let the world know who I was, if they even knew. I brushed my hair back. My bangs stayed in my face. I decided that putting my hair into a bun would work. Then, I went even more elaborate with using a braid to go around my bun. Then I was satisfied. I went out of the bathroom.

"Hey." I said looking at Kurapika. He looked up from his book. His mouth dropped. "You still have your Kurta clothes?"

"Yeah. I learned to sew so I could continue making them." I said. "I kept adding on to this since, my mom had made this for me."

"You'll make me new ones then?" He asked.

"In blue?"

"I'd like that. What about your contacts? Your eyes.. I haven't seen their natural color I'd almost forgotten how blue they were."

"Yeah. I figured it was about time. Now you stink. Take a shower. Then let's go get some grub. I'm hungry." I said making him chuckle. You can also put your clothes out and I'll go wash them so you can wear them later."

"Alright."

I laid on the bed. I was tired. Today was draining. Killua left. I wondered where he went. Gon still hadn't woke up. I wondered how Hikaru was. She had seemed to take it a bit personally. I sighed. Sometimes things just happened. I prolly would take a nap. After all I was so tired.. It wouldn't hurt..

Before I knew it, I had gone to sleep. I vaguely remember Kurapika saying something, I just don't know what he said.

Hi guys! I had some fun typing this and other times I was just like omg don't do this! I had written and unwritten this chapter so much. Hoped you like it. I just needed to get it off my chest before I exploded!

Also I didn't realize that I had written so much either! Like holy chili pepper the story itself is 4k+! :O
