Hello my peeps! I'm sorry I took awhile to finish. I left my previous home and now am in another home. yay! Took me awhile. Love you all and thank you for having the patience to deal with me. Also I'm going to reedit my works and continue on. Thank you once more for loving my story. I've also decided to reedit this, since this is my beloved story and I have grown since writing the first chapter. The story will still be the same, just my writing style will be different. But here's another chapter!

Six months had passed by in a blink of an eye. I was quickly scanning the crowds for Kurapika. We had decided to become body guards for this young girl named Neon. She was a bit annoying but hey it wasn't my place to judge. If she wanted something she would cry and her dad would buy it and send it to her in a heartbeat. She certainly had it made. Neon had this special skill. So we were suppose to protect it. Kurapika came into view and I jumped down from the building.

"There you are! I was starting to wonder where you ran off to!" I smiled. A lot had happened since we left Gon. Many things actually. Kurapika finally learned about nen and shocked to know that I knew of it too. When he turned out to be a conjuror, I was surprised but pleased. Kurapika wasn't so pleased. He had wanted to be an enhancer. He asked what I was, so I had to show him. I could manipulate water with my nen. He hadn't believed me, so of course I had to show him, by almost drowning us. Sure sometimes I had trouble controlling it, but as long as it wasn't too much I could just handle it just fine. Using nen wasn't a problem, the problem was controlling my category. Like it was harder since I didn't have a tool to control one specific thing like others tended to have. Some manipulators could control animals which was still easier than controlling something that wasn't something like mine. I could manipulate a freaking element and I couldn't even control it as well as I wanted to, which explains why I don't often use my category. I could however use my nen effectively enough to enhance my strength and other things. Those weren't as hard. Once I explained to Kurapika, he understood and he was thinking about how useful it could be later on and how to learn to control it.

"Dalzollene wanted me to check around some more. Anything suspicious?" He asked me. I looked him in the eyes, I knew it had multiple meanings. One was about our job, the other was about Hisoka, and prolly about the auction. I shook my head. Nothing had happened just yet. We soon went to a hotel and waited for further orders. Dalzollene was on the phone talking to the boss. Neon was in the other room talking to one of her maids.

"Our next job is to purchase the following items at the underground auction. I don't care how much it costs, you guys attend the auction." Dalzollene explained to us. He started a projector and showed us the items. "Full body mummy of the queen of colco, actor's son, Mareech's, used tissue paper with DNA verification and the eyes of the Kurta Clan, aka scarlet eyes." He finished. I had prepared myself for this moment, but it still stung just a bit that other people wanted to buy my people's eyes... "Also! There's information that someone will attack the underground action. Whatever the situation is, prioritize 'obtaining the item' and act accordingly. Tonight at 9, the mummy will be auctioned off in Cemetery Building. Ivlenkov, Tocino, Baise, I'll leave the auction to you." Dalzollene told us.

"Only three?" Basho asked. I'm pretty sure Dalzollene explained it to us, but I didn't pay attention anymore. I kinda already knew it had something to do with the mafia and such and whatever regulation it was. I wasn't a part of the group going to the auction so I didn't care. That part was a bummer, I wanted to see what it was like! However I was assigned to the main entrance watch with Kurapika and Melody! I was okay with that. I really didn't care for Basho or Linssen who got stuck in the back entrance watch.

"I'm so bored Kurapika!" I whined. We were watching the area but nothing suspicious had happened yet. Melody was looking around using binoculars. I just looked around. "Diligence!" I yelled as I tried to get back into mood. Two minutes later and I was back on the ground. To top it off my stomach growled.

"Didn't you pack food in your bag?" Kurapika asked as he heard my stomach.

"I did, but I already ate it." I told him like it was no big deal.

"I don't understand how you can eat so much." He told me. He was still watching where I had given up. Between him and Melody I wasn't really needed. They could keep watch and if we needed to fight, I would be ready until then, I was bored. Getting up I stood by the rails. A bodyguard shouldn't be on the ground unless shot or fighting.

"It's nen. Especially for my ability. It uses a lot of my energy and depending on how much I eat, I can go up to days without food." I dully explained. I hadn't gotten to eat much since we got here so I was hungry.

Kurapika's phone rang, and he answered. Turns out it was Dalzollene. I could hear him but I couldn't make out what he said.

"Nothing's wrong." Melody answered. I looked at her wondering but Kurapika answered into the phone.

"Nothing wrong out here." He answered. I guess Dal said more since Kurapika replied. "Roger. We'll notify you when something happens." Thus ending the phone call. He hung up and stood next to him. He gently patted my head and I huffed at him. He gave me a smile which looked too cute. I wanted to wipe it off his face so no one else could see it.

"I'm not a kid." I said. I looked away to stop myself from blushing. Darn him and his accidental cuteness. Sometimes I wondered if he was cuter than me?! Impossible right? I'm cute as a button if I say so myself.

"Of course not." He replied to me. I heard Melody giggle at us.

"What a security system this is." She started. I nodded my head in agreement. "No one other than the community's private guards can com within 300 meters of the building." She stated.

"Otherwise the outside would be full of mafia members." Kurapika commented.

"They're not so bad once you get used to it." I told them. "They're like harmless kittens when you think about it."

"Of course you would say that." Kurapika drily commented. I laughed. I wasn't as big and as tough as they thought I was. I just happened to be a bit smart and a bit quicker and a dash of madness if I do say so myself.

"Well it would be like saying 'Hey! We are doing something illegal out here.'" I replied getting back to the earlier conversation.

"That's true." Melody replied. "Can I ask you guys a question?" I looked at her wondering what that was about.

"Sure." Kurapika answered. I shrugged when she looked at me. Like a I guess shrug? I have no idea.

"Scarlet eyes." She said. My eyes widen a fraction before I allowed myself to relax. Kurapika didn't show any signs of it effecting him. "What are they to you?" She asked looking at Kurapika. He stayed silent for a moment before asking why she asked. "No reason. I'm just curious. Your melody was rather violent when you saw the photo. Deep, endless anger." She said looking at him. Then she turned to me. "Your melody was the opposite. It was heartbreakingly sad." I nodded in understanding. I wouldn't allow myself to feel sad about it, but they melody of the heart doesn't lie apparently. I groaned.

"I'm a member of the Kurta clan. Our eyes are normally brown but they change to scarlet when excited. Right now, Mitsuki and I are currently wearing black contacts to avoid being noticed. I'm looking for the stolen eyes of my comrades. I'll bring them back. Whatever it takes." He said with fury. I looked away. We never really talked about the plans for the future other than the information about the spiders. Under no circumstances would I let him die, so I had to follow. It was like I had lost my freedom by binding myself to him. Like I was chained to him. That made me snort for a second. How ironic. His chains. This feeling. It all fit too perfectly for my taste. "Are you going to report this to Dalzonelle?" He asked. This was a bit of a threat in it.

After a few seconds Melody spoke. "I won't. I don't want to be killed." She said as she looked at the city.

"Kudos for figuring that out." I said. I hadn't realized that I had tensed up.

"Your bloodlust was leaking out. You're that desperate to protect him." She answered me.

"Of course." I replied.

"You figured it all out." Kurapika spoke. He was thinking of so many things I could tell.

"Heartbeats never lie. During your confession your emotion was calm, but cold at the same time. You were saying 'I'll talk, but don't care what happens.'" Melody told us.

"That's amazing!" I exclaimed. That had to be useful but probably had drawbacks! She smiled at me.

"Why did you choose this job?" She asked us. I just pointed at Kurapika and she nodded as if understanding.

"Why do you ask?" Kurapika wondered.

"I might just lie." She told us instead.

"I can tell by looking at one's eyes." Kurapika told her as he stared at her. I nodded knowing how scary it was when Kurapika called me on my bullshit the first few weeks we were alone by ourselves. Remembering it even now gave me shivers. He chided and nagged me until I spoke the truth to him.

"Believe me, we don't want that." I shivered. Kurapika gave me a pointed look and I shrugged at him too. Like what was he gonna do? I was better at nen than him. Our spars often had me the winner... Unless he was allowing me to win!? I looked at him in shocked and he noticed and gave me a questioning look. I pointed at him and he ignored me instead.

Melody chuckled at our antics. "I'm also a pro-hunter. A music hunter. I'm looking for a particular music score." She said as if she was testing Kurapika. To prove whether she was lying or not.

"Your eyes say you're not lying, but hiding the important details." Kurapika gave her the answer. It left Melody in laughter. She laughed out loud and big. I shocked me that such a laughter could come out such a hideous thing. Her appearance was rather gruesome, but once you got over her looks she was an okay person.. So far. Melody was bald on top with some hair. She had two protruding teeth coming out of her mouth, and one of her eyes had a bump on it. Like Quasimodo from that one movie. Except not hunchback. Heh heh. She was just as kind as him too.

"I'll say that's right. I'm looking for the 'Sonata of Darkness'." She replied once she finished laughing. If I recalled correctly it was a piece that was said to be composed by Satan himself. Something about piano, viola, flute.. and some other instrument. It was another string instrument. I think. It was also said to bring bad things to whoever heard it.

"Isn't that just a story?" Kurapika asked, skeptic. "I can't believe such a thing could exist."

"Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction my dear friend." I quoted to him not quite correctly but close enough for me. Melody raised up her sleeve and she skin was horrifying to look at.

"I heard the flute part of it. I only listened to the first verse and THIS happened. Do you want to see the picture of me before this?" She asked.

"I do! I do!" I jumped up. She gave me a photo and my jaw dropped so fast. She was beautiful compared to this thing now! Like how? I was in utter shock.

"That day, we were drunk. In exchanged for this I gained this ability but I want to return to my original body. Whatever it takes. And I don't want this to happen to anyone else. So I'll find it and destroy it. I chose this job because it's easier to obtain related information here." She told us.

"That's really noble of you." I commented.

"It's time." Kurapika said. He heard it all. He was most likely trying to figure out how could this happen. I had only one answer if he chose to ask me and the answer was and would always be nen.
