Vincent was looking around the funeral home for Bethany. Yesterday had been such a great day. He got enough courage to ask Bethany on a date, well, not a real date. But coffee was a start. Vincent had two classes with the beautiful, blonde haired girl, which has caused his grades to slip. Not that he minded.
The last he saw of her was her Aunt Anna taking her outside, which confused Vincent, but he wasn't about to question it.
He prepared himself to find the two girls crying; but, instead, found Aunt Anna on the ground with Bethany nowhere in sight.
"Anna…Anna." Vincent turned the woman over and gagged when he saw her crooked neck. "Help! Help me! Someone help me!" A rush of people flooded into the grass.
Vincent's world went in slow motion, the men rushing to pick Anna up, the background of his vision became blurry as he struggled to get a clean footing on the moist grass. He knelt to the ground his heart feeling like it was beating in his throat instead of his chest. Vincent looked around at the people and tried to find the familiar color of her hair. "Bethany." He whispered before passing out on the lawn of the funeral home.
