Edit: How the hell am I gonna edit Andy's magical inventions out. What was I thinking while writing this ugh
Yaaay, this is the chapter Andy appears in since eventually he's gonna be in Never the Same! :D Some of the credit of this chapter goes to him because he gave me ideas for his parts. :3
Allll right, lengthy chapter, but only because it was requested! ;) Also a little credit goes to Lunan95 for giving me the idea for about a quarter of this chapter. :)
Enjoy!
Guido and Luigi screamed and jumped back when a sudden pound against the door rattled throughout the café.
"What the hell? Is that a battering ram?!" Lightning asked.
Stacy looked out the window around the big machine pounding on the door. "Andy!" she exclaimed.
"Hey, Stacy!" He grinned at the window.
"Andy, what on earth are you doing here?" Holley shouted through the glass.
"Well, I tried to get in here about five minutes ago, and I saw the lights flickering so I immediately thought ghosts or demons or something,"
Finn looked over at Stacy with an unenthusiastic expression. Stacy laughed nervously. "W-what can I say…? I, uh… I taught him… Well…" She looked away and rubbed the back of her neck. "I accidentally taught him to be paranoid like me…" She murmured.
"Okay, but that doesn't explain the canon-looking machine." Finn spoke up. "What is it?"
"It's a leaf blower!" Lizzie cried happily.
"No!" Andy told her. "It's my Battering Ram… Thing!"
"Uh… And it does what, exactly?" Sherriff asked.
"Exactly what it's doing right now," Andy answered matter-of-factly. The café doors had gotten visible cracks in it. Flo looked uncomfortable, but Sally looked over at her as if to say it was for the best.
The doors shattered with a crash, but Andy's machine continued.
"Okay, Andy, you can turn it off, now!" Stacy frowned.
"Off? It doesn't have an off button, yet…"
"Dude?!" Stacy yelled at him.
"Hey, it's a prototype! I just brought it over here because I figured someone was gonna die Supernatural-Intro-Style. It does have this self-destruct button, though…" He explained, pressing another button on his remote, and his Battering Ram machine exploded, causing more damage to the side of the café it was on.
"Well, there goes a year's work…" Andy mumbled looking at the remains of the cannon.
"Are you gonna pay for the front door to my restaurant, now?" Flo raised an eyebrow.
"Nope!" Andy smiled. His smile dropped. "Should I? How would I do that?"
"Aw, give 'im a break, Flo, he got us out, didn't he?" Stacy grinned, hugging Andy, who grinned back at his "sister."
"Okay, where do we go, now?" Mater asked.
"We could go back to my place." Andy suggested. "…why do you need a place to go, exactly?"
"Uh… Andy, remember what I told you about Stalker Siddeley?" Siddeley quietly asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"He's sorta… Here."
Andy was silent for a moment, then declared, "Well, what are you all waiting for? It'll be safe back at my house." Before hopping into his truck, he looked at the trailer he used to get his Battering Ram machine over here. He frowned. "Um… So if you want a ride, some of you can ride in the truck bed and some of you can sit in the trailer…"
"…I think Flo should have the front seat with you, considering you destroyed her door, and all." Siddeley suggested.
"Oh, good idea!" Andy smiled.
Stacy hopped into the truck bed. "Guys, hurry up. If he says his place is safe, then it's safe."
"Let's not be out in the open longer than we have to." Siddeley agreed, climbing up, as well.
…
"Here we are!" Andy declared, ushering everyone inside. "Fort Jackson."
"Wait, Stacy, your "brother's" full name is Andrew Jackson…?" Lightning quietly asked.
"How, exactly, will we be safe here?" Finn asked Andy.
"Okay, so, a few weeks ago, Siddeley came over complaining about you ignoring his suspicions about the Stalker Shadow thing, right?"
Finn frowned at Siddeley who nervously laughed.
"Well, I suggested to him that I make this," Andy announced, pulling the sheet off of another one of his machines. It looked like an uneven cube with various screens and buttons on it. "I call it, the Stalker Detector."
"Wait, what's with the…?" Ramone trailed off, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, those are my pets." Andy replied when he noticed that two cats and three rabbits came strolling into the room.
"Why do you have so many animals, man?" Fillmore asked.
"They keep me company." Andy replied simply. "The orange cat is Jiyeon, the black cat is Jisoo, the big white rabbit is Jihae, the little white one is Jieun, and the brown-spotted one,"
Andy was interrupted. "Hey, Jiwoo," Stacy grinned, crouching down in front of the last rabbit. "Haven't seen this one in a while."
"Oh, yeah. He likes to hide from the others." Andy smiled.
"Uh, what's with the weird names?" Sally asked.
"I got all of them from Korea." Andy replied. "Anyway, with this," he gestured to the Stalker Detector. "We'll be able to know if Stalker Siddeley is here and if you push this button… Wait." He said, to stop, think, and inspect the machine. "Whoops… I forgot the button. Anyway, doesn't matter." He decided, casually tossing his remote to the side. "I've got more buttons that do the same thing."
Finn's POV
Andy lost me at "Stalker Detector." I couldn't help but let my mind wander back to when Siddeley and I were children.
October Thirteenth, 1983.
"Finn, Leland, Tombér, come on! Let's get inside! It's getting dark out, Stalker Siddeley is probably coming!"
Leland and I exchanged an annoyed glance, sighed, and we all followed Siddeley inside my house.
"Finn?" My mother called.
"I'm here, mum." I called back.
"Finn, have you seen Claire? I can't find her anywhere."
Siddeley gasped. "She was taken my Stalker Siddeley!" he exclaimed, panicked.
"No, she wasn't." Leland sighed.
"Come on, I know she was playing outside earlier." I announced, grabbing a torch from a kitchen drawer.
"I think I know where she is!" Sid exclaimed, and ran outside. Leland, Tombér, and I followed after.
"Where is she, then, Sid?" Leland asked.
"In there." Sid pointed towards the small woods near my house.
"Why in there?" Tombér raised his eyebrow. "How do you know?"
"Because Stalker Siddeley likes trees, okay?" Siddeley frowned.
I turned my torch on as we headed into the woods. Its beam of yellow light cast an eerie glow across the branches.
"So..." Leland began. I could tell he was scared. His iris eyes were darting around nervously and he was walking closer to me, the same way he did at school.
I chuckled. "Grow some backbone, Lee." I suggested in a deep voice, imitating my father. That's what he would always tell Leland as he ruffled his adopted son's hair.
Some kind of bird—an owl?—hooted in the distance and we all jumped and clung to each other like a scared group in a cartoon. I started laughing and Leland's shaky laugh joined mine. Tombér was upset that he let himself get spooked.
"There!" Siddeley declared, then ran off toward a—to us, anyway—random direction.
"Sid!" I called, completely unaware of what he was doing.
"Claire!" We faintly heard him calling.
I sighed and ran my palm over my face.
"Siddewey?" We heard after a few seconds. Claire's voice was further away than Siddeley's, so her voice was fainter. I looked up from my hand.
"Claire," I called, running in the direction Siddeley went. I threw a glance behind me to make sure Leland and Tombér were following me.
We found Siddeley staring up at a tree. I followed his gaze with the torch beam to see Claire.
"Claire!" Leland exclaimed.
"Hi, Wewand." She smiled. She always did love Leland—probably a bit more than she loved me.
"Claire, what on earth are you doing up there?" I asked, shining the torch around the branch she was sitting on.
"Well, I... Hiding." She replied.
"From what?" I asked.
"Or who?" Siddeley suggested.
"Who." Claire confirmed. "I thought Stalker Siddewey was chasing me. Sidewey said because it's October thirteenth."
I sighed. "Leland, take the torch?" I asked, handing it to him then turned back up to look at Claire.
"Claire, can you jump down for me?"
"Jump down?" She repeated, obvious fear in her voice.
"Yes, Claire, jump down. I'll catch you. You trust me, don't you?"
"...yes." She replied.
"Then jump." I urged her with a smile.
She hesitated, slid a bit off the branch she was sitting on, and pushed herself off.
I had to run forward a bit, but I caught her.
"That wasn't so bad, was it?" I asked her. She grinned at me.
"Hurry, wet's get home before Stalker Siddewey catches us!" She told me. So, on the way back to the house, Claire sat on my shoulders keeping an eye out for Stalker Siddeley. Sid swore he was there following us...
I was pulled out of my thoughts by a loud blaring sound.
"The Stalker Detector! Stalker Sid is—" Andy began to say, but I spun halfway around when I heard a gasp that was about to turn into a scream but was cut short.
When I called out, I did a bad job disguising the panic in my voice. "Stacy?"
